Brief history of Earth, starting from 1 January 2010

1 January, 2010: First emergence of the Killer Virus goes unnoticed by the humans.

5 April, 2010: First man, 87-year-old from Peru, dies from the Killer Virus. He has been complaining of headaches for the past three days, and has suffered no more than two blackouts. Died only six hours after visiting his doctor.

6 April, 2010: Scientists and doctors identify the Killer Virus as a new disease, and investigations begin.

7 April, 2010: The first woman dies from the Killer Virus, aged 80. She is also the man's widow.

12 April, 2010: 40-year-old woman dies in China. On the same day, doctors identify the cause of death as the Killer Virus.

25 June, 2010: Scientists figure how to halt the Killer Virus; they start developing the first batch of medicine. 278 dead from the Killer Virus by this time.

1 October, 2010: The last "safe" country, England, is infected with the Killer Virus. 1,206 victims and counting.

2 October, 2010: The world starts to break down in panic. Order is fading, and scientists are being forced to work continuously work to find a cure.

4 October, 2010: The first batch of medicine is released to the general public, with clear indications it halts the Killer Virus temporarily. 1,223 victims and counting.

22 December, 2010: Scientists discover the Killer Virus does not kill animals, but changes them.

23 December, 2010: Scientists infect more animals with the Killer Virus, and start to work on a cure.

1 January, 2011: In the course of a year, the Killer Virus claims 1,985 victims.

10 January, 2011: Scientists publish the results of their findings, and tries to reassure the general public the Killer Virus will be stopped within the next five years. 2,093 victims and counting.

13 March, 2011: The first rebellion starts.

14 March, 2011: Police break the rebellion. 2,364 victims and counting.

15 June, 2011: The second rebellion starts. More people join in than the first. 2,904 victims and counting.

20 June, 2011: Police break up the second rebellion. 3,016 victims and counting.

1 July, 2011: The Killer Virus seems to accelerate, as more victims are dying per day than ever. 3,419 victims and counting.

17 August, 2011: Order collapses even more, and more and more are succumbing to the Killer Virus. 9,210 victims and counting.

1 January, 2012: The general public are starting to wonder why the cure has not yet been released. 17,223 victims and counting.

2 February, 2012: Scientists are forced into admitting the cure has not worked. 20,198 victims and counting.

4 September, 2012: Scientists are still working for a cure, but people are panicking, and the death toll rises partially due to the Killer Virus, and partially due to now-common suicides. 40,691 deaths and counting.

1 January, 2013: Three years after the Killer Virus first emerged, the virus has claimed 50,911 victims (discounting other reasons of deaths). No news from the scientists.

2013 - 2036: Almost all of the humans are dead. It is unclear whether the scientists ever developed a cure.

6 May, 2036: According to our sources, there are now only ten humans alive, seven men and three women.

8 May, 2036: The very last woman is alive.

17 May, 2036: The last woman dies. Only two men are left alive.

20 May, 2036: The very last human is still alive.

1 June, 2036: The last human dies, aged 61.

 

1 June, 2036 - 2060: There are signs of animal tracks, which suggests to us that animals were alive until 2060.

 

2060 - now: The Earth has become nothing more than a breeding ground for bacteria. The Earth is no longer suitable for any lifeform. We, however, have taken a closer look, and we have found what appears to be a diary at the bottom of what we believe was once a lake. Most of the diary has been destroyed, except for the cover and a few pages. The author's name has been smudged.

 

Hopefully you will have gathered a sense of what happens before and after this RP. You know what happens at the beginning, and you know what happens at the end; the question is, what happens in the middle?

4. Although this thread will enable you to discuss whatever you wish regarding the RP, please do not give away your prompts until they have been fully completed. NB: This rule will make more sense when we get into the plot.

5. You may RP as any animal you wish, except for anything mythical or extinct. However, for the RP to start, I MUST have at least one air animal, and one land animal. Aquatic animals are very welcome, except you will not have as much to do as air and land animals will.

As you will be RPing as animals, there are a few things you need to know:

1. Everyone is infected with the Killer Virus; however, as it has not yet adapted to the animals' DNA, it is currently harmless.

2. Language:

a. All animals can speak English, and English only.

b. A few animals are literate, but they are incapable of writing.

c. All animals still have their distinguishing cries; e.g. crickets can still chrip.

3. All animals' intelligence is equal to humans.

4. The RP primarily takes place in the UK, in a large woodland that is equal distance from the Atlantic Ocean, and London (London is roughly in a North-West direction).

5. All animals have adapted to living in the same environment. That means it is perfectly fine for a polar bear to live in England, and so on.

6. All animals are now herbivores. Everyone eats whatever they can find; fruit is considered as a special treat, as it is now extremely rare.

7. All animals' lives have been extended, so they live like humans.

Gender: Female

Species: Cheetah

Distinguishing features: Seiku's body measures 140cm, which means she is slightly longer than the average cheetah. Her tail is about 80cm long, and she roughly weighs 58kg. She looks like a standard cheetah, except what should normally be a tanned skin and white belly has been inverted; that is, her body is white, and her underbelly is tan. Her spots have remained black, though some of them have faded into a dark brown colour, and the "tear marks" around her eyes have lengthened by several centimeters since she became infected. Seiku has a rather feminine-looking face, and the furs behind her neck and on top of her head vaguely resembles hair.

Personality: Seiku has the typical qualities of a leader; she's firm, wise, determined, and extremely clear about her thoughts. She is, however, repressive at the same time, making it difficult to read her. Although she tries to keep a clear mind, she can become subjective in her decisions, as she is proven to have a stubborn trait in her; Seiku is good at keeping her stubborn trait out of public view, and if she gets too heated into an argument, she generally tends to stop before she becomes too stubborn and subjective.

Name: Britney

Age: 22

Gender: Female

Species: Ostrich

Distinguishing features: Britney weighs about 63 kilograms (140 lb). Her feathers have actually turned a rather darker black, resembling coal because of her getting infected. Her tail is also, instead of being white, a sickly grayish color. Her neck is almost completely bare, with only a small thin layer of down feathers. Her neck is about 3 feet long. Her head is almost about 7 feet off the ground due to her long legs which are 4 feet long. Her eyes are 3 inches in diameter. Her legs are scaled, but they are also covered in a thin layer of Black Feathers which came their due to her getting infected. The feathers on her Tail and Legs are smooth and rather straight while the Feathers on her Body and Wings are rather Unkept and but are rather soft and fluffy.

Personality: Britney is usually very Rude and Sarcastic. She is that way to others because she is just too full of herself, she thinks all smaller animals are lesser creatures and their lives mean nothing to her. Any creatures that are larger than her she respects and shows great pride to them. But whenever Britney is in a good mood her usual attitude is toned down and she might even sometimes act friendly and generous to those creatures that are smaller to her.
