[spoiler=Chapter 1]Messy Dreams

"And as a result, the melted tachyons collect in a very tight space, in a matter that forces two carbon atoms to occupy the same spot. And as both the nuclear forces and the Van der Waals effects are of great intensity, one of the two atoms would have nothing to do other that travel...into the future!"

"Astonishing! A great piece of know-how, designed to change the world forever! And if your calculations are correct, that wouldn't take more energy than one ton per kilogram of tachyonic matter to produce!"

The young genius wandered off the scene, extremely happy about the increasing number of supporters that were funding his research. But he knew that was nothing more than his civic duty, and that nothing less than a time machine could save the universe from perish...

Jose woke up with a headache. He was really pissed, as for the last three weeks, his extremely vivid and deep dreams made him feel like he did not sleep at all. And they were becoming more and more vivid as the time passed.

This night, he saw himself as the eminent 24 year old dark matter physicist Matthew Save, talking about his findings about nano-tachyon crystallizations. And there were two strange facts about that happening.

First, he surfed the internet rapidly in the search of "Tachyons", as the term appeared in his dream and he had no idea what did it mean, and surprisingly found a theoretic physics site that had whole pages of theories, calculations and statistics concerning them. Second, he recalled Matthew before the speech, drinking a hot coffee way too fast. And the pain felt real...

"Jose, come on! Close that damn laptop and go to school already, you really think that being tired is an excuse to be late for 5 days in a row?"

"Sorry, mum, I'll leave now!"

Enough with the fantasies already! Jose had a Science test, and he had to learn for it.

As he was walking to the school, a vortex of unintelligible memories beamed into his brain, causing him a migraine. He could not get any of it, so after the blood vessels on his head stopped pulsating, he continued his daily walk to school.

(15 minutes later)

"Ow, now isn't that Pilljose?"

"Shut the fuck up, Joey, it's become a cliche already..."

"Eat the cliche, you bastard!"

Jose evaded Joey's fist in the last second, amazed by his unnaturally low reaction speed.

Still, he might just be right. Jose was the captain of the football team, and the most worthy player of them all. But after the messy dreams started to pop up, he lost his focus and as a result their team lost a lot of value. Joey, also a wing in the team, managed to get little support afterwards, and lost his spot as the team's goal-getter. But it's not just him, all the football team hated Jose. And even his girlfriend did, after he forgot about her birthday...

But enough with the bad memories, time for the test! Jose was never good at Physics and he was too tired to learn for the test, so he was not exactly eager to take it.

Still...something weird happened...the teacher handed Jose his test, Jose looked at the test for a second, and...finished it in three minutes, without even thinking about the answers. One week later, he will find out that his grade is a perfect A...

[spoiler=Chapter 2]The Collapse of a Universe

[?]

Chaos all around. Anthony Medjire found shelter in the last second, as one solar flare burned off everybody behind him. Still, he was not feeling too good. The amount of radiation was so high that the DNA in every one of his cells started to disrupt, causing various sorts of cancer throughout his body. He did not have much to live.

But, with his last strength, he shouted to the few people that were still running around: "There's a titanium deposit one mile west of here, go there unless you want the radiation to..."

Too late. A cancerous artery blocked the flow of blood, and Anthony died, with no one to help him, burning on the hot ground. Soon, everybody, the whole Earth included, will share the same faith.

[26 January 2114 - New London]

Jose did have some horrifying dreams before, both nothing like that. The whole world as burning around him, the buildings collapsed, and solar flares randomly hit people running about, all with radiation-caused mutations. And when his heart stopped, it felt so real that when he woke up he immediately verified his pulse.

But the most strange thing was that...he did not feel exhausted. Maybe that was because he did not die in the other dreams, and instead of dreaming that he was dead, he had a partially dreamless night. "Let's call it luck, shall we?".

The last night, he tried remaining awake, to see if that would tire him less than dreaming. It worked! As a result, Jose could only figure out that he is actually awake while dreaming, with a working mind and strained muscles. "Either this stops, or I'll start killing people."

On the following nights, Jose found out that he had more control over the character he was dreaming, and could even force suicides. The control wasn't always perfect and suiciding caused him real pain, but it paid out, as he was less tired.

The football team started winning again, Jose's girlfriend had nothing to complain about (remember people that this IS PG-16) and overall everything was good.

That ended when suiciding became second nature to Jose. He was so eager to go to sleep that some attempts actually succeeded in ending his dreams in fewer than 20 seconds. Soon, he could not make the difference between dream and reality...and almost killed himself for real, in his own bathroom, with a scissor.

He would've finished himself if it was not for a strange voice, coming out of a mirror: "Seriously now, that's not the right way to do it! And either way, you wouldn't want that to happen now."

[spoiler=Chapter 3]Mass/Math Murder

[8 February 2114 - New London]

The shadowy image in the mirror slowly took shape. It looked like a giant, with a towering height of 8 feet. It was even more frightening as his two eyes were of different colors and through a scar on his face Jose could clearly see the skull made of diamond.

"Who...who the fuck are you?"

"I'm God, and thou shall suffer-em as thou was the reason for which innocents have died-em by forced suicides-em. Fall shall the wrath of the Archangels-em upon yeh!"

"No seriously who the fuck are you?"

"I'm Deus. I'm an Immortal from a planet who's name is too long and tongue twisting to pronounce, and I was bored by how well this world was going without my help. So, I decided to create the world's top mass murderer!"

"You mean me? Killing myself every night is not much of a feat of strength, you know..."

"Not you, dumbass...your right lung!"

"What the fuck?!"

"Long story. But I have all the time in the world to tell it to you, so there's no real problem. You see, those...dreams you experience are not dreams after all. They are flashes, flashes from REAL people."

"What a minute! Does that mean that every time I dream I succumb myself into an alternate dimension?"

"Alternate dimension - no. Another universe - hell yeah!"

"By the way, in one of these flashes I saw the world ending. Does that mean it will also happen to this world? Are these premonitions?"

"Fuck oracles! No, these universes have nothing in common with ours, except that all history within them is the same as ours till 1800 AD. Actually, these universes are CREATED in the year 1800. That's point Genesis. And they all end in 2500 AD."

"Yes but won't we also perish in 2500 AD if so many similar universes shared that faith? How can you tell?"

"Because not all universes have to face the Killah Lung, dude!"

"I still don't get it."

"It will sound funny, but...these universes appear in the core of each and every red blood cell you have, each time they charge with CO2 and let O2 behind. And each and every universe is destroyed after it charges with O2. This happens in about 3 seconds in real time, but the time is stretched in those universes to 700 years."

"But that's...plain horrible! You're such a bastard...who knows how many people will die because of this..."

"It's not that hard to calculate, really...let me try. You have 25 trillion red blood cells in your body at any given time. In the year 2500, Earth's population will be (in most universes) 9 billion. Also, you breathe 18 times per minute, so 18 times per minute, every red cell in your body has it's universe destroyed. That means...4050 quintillion deaths per minute. As you are 16 and have an average lifespan of 90 years, you, or so to say your lungs, will kill about...2 octillion people! That's 10 to the power 27 times 2 souls lost for nothing. And...some wasted nights full of dull dreams. Am I a nice guy or what?"

"You...you are a monster! Why did you provoke such tragedy? And how long will it last?"

"Told you already, it's boredom. And there are three answers to the latter. One: when you die of old age. Two: when you commit suicide. Three: When one of the micro-universes produces a motherfucker smart enough to discover how to save his world, getting all people to this universe."

"I had a flash a couple months ago, in which this guy found a real use for tachyons..."

"Really? Well then, seems like he failed anyway. You know, I did this out of boredom, but the most funny part is not that more people die inside you than hydrogen atoms are destroyed in the sun every minute."

"Then, what's the funny part, you schadenfreudian jerkass?"

"That now, you have a choice to make, and on this choice will depend the life of so many. And you have 3 options: option 1, live your entire life with a guilty conscience and nights full of tiring dreams, option 2, suicide..."

"No thanks, what's left?"

"...option 3, gather information every night from your flashes, and dedicate your life to discovering interdimensional transportation."

"I'm not the smart type of guy, you know..."

"Hey, there's always options 1 and 2, you know!"

"Fuck you..."

"Gotta go kill some random people! Farewell, and make it fun! Wait, I just notice something..."

"What's now?"

"This situation will only be funny if you do options 1 or 3...but I know how to stop you!"

"I won't kill myself, asshole."

'Right now, I'm sure you won't." laughed Deus.

Then, he looked for two mirrors, and gave them to Jose.

"Why do I have an "I" on my neck?"

"It stands for "Immortal". Simply put, you're immortal."

"But wait, I thought all Immortals had a fatal weakness!"

"Hey how come you know that?"

"I got the information on yugiohcardmaker from a fanfic..."

"Damn kid...I thought you were doing your girlfriend all day long!"

"She also has an account."

"Doesn't matter, let us return to the matter at hand. Yes, it is true, Immortals have 1 way of dyeing, but as you became an Immortal being transformed by another Immortal and not by finishing a quest on my native planet, I got to choose your Attribute and Weakness."

"I still can't see what keeps me from dyeing..."

"It is simple, actually. This is your Weakness: if you use your Immortal powers, you die."

"Hey, doesn't that actually make suiciding even easier?"

"Your Attribute is Life. Your powers keep yourself from dyeing, heal you, might heal others, that sort of stuff. And the combination between this Attribute and that weakness leads to you, dear Jose, being the most unique Immortal of them all: you have absolutely no special power, but, at the same time, you're the only Immortal that really can't die! Ever!"

"That...sounds really boring...still, I'm amazed how your twisted mind thought up something so complicated it's almost...cool! You knew you'd do this all along, right?"

"Nah, it's just that 1 brilliant idea that strikes me every 5 seconds...sorry now, but I really need to go kill some random people."

"But..."

"See ya!"

[spoiler=Chapter 4]Probability is a Harsh Mistress

[9 February 2114 - New London]

"I guess it's decided. Not by me, but it's decided nonetheless."

"Jose, stop talking to yourself and go to bed, it's 1 AM already!"

"K, mom."

Now was the time for him to gather data. If lucky, he thought he'd finish everything in 2-3 years...and then use up the whole rest of his 100% eternal life to have sex with as many girls as possible, times 2.

"All right then, let's get to work! What have we amassed so far in the field of subatomic physics, gentlemen?"

"Wha?!"

Jose opened his eyes, and what he saw was rather...well, awkward. He was standing on a corn field, and in front of him were two middle aged peasants. He was carrying a fork.

"What happened to ya', John? You passed out some time ago..."

"I...had a concussion! And...lost my memory. And you will ignore my absurd genre savviness and act like any person who's lost his memory should instantly realize that he actually lost his memory. Enough small talking, what's the year?"

"1845..."

"Yeah? Good year indeed!"

For the first time, Jose was happy that a universe would perish. Yet, he was frustrated by his own ignorance - when flashing, he could be sent at any time from 1800 to 2500, and only the latter half time period could contain anything even remotely meaningful about tachyons.

"Screw Deus..." said 'Jack', before impaling himself with the fork. Unfortunately, it took him 5 minutes to die, but he's suffered worse...

Jose woke up with a pain in his chest.

"Damn that, I'll try again tomorrow. It's a chance out of 2 after all..."

With little hope, the current incarnation of Jose raised his eyes. In front of him, he saw a large building, and a post on it saying "The 24th congress of theoretic physics - 22 May 2415".

Bull luck! Jose never thought that was even possible! He was so close, even halfway there...but still, probability is a harsh mistress...

"Sorry, sir, but you cannot enter uninvited."

"Say WHAT?! Aw, fuck you, Deus!"

"Sir, my name is Nicholas, and please don't swear. Now, leave immediately or I'll have to use force."

Jose grabbed the guardian's gun and shot himself in the head.

Yeah well it was the only name that made sense for the storyline. My mom sucks so I won't be able to post the first chapter today, but if you want me to pm you the resume, I will, just don't give it to other people.

Ah, tachyon. I know a little bit about that.

Interesting start.

*A couple chapters later*

Who would have thought the captain of the football team would turn into a nerd.

Jk, just some guesses...
