Hi everyone! I'm Remnants, and I'm new to YCM! Before you read the prologue, I just have a couple things to say. 1) I've seen YCM many times before I made my account, and I have made fanfics before, so don't think that my fanfic will suck just because I made my account recently. If it sucks anyways, than it's cuz I suck as a writer. But at least READ it if you are going to say it sucks. 2) I'd like some comments, good or bad, but try to keep it constructive. If there is something bad about my fanfic, then try to tell me plz. and 3) I thought that it would be fun to kick off my fanfic by letting you, the readers, be involved. While I do not NEED characters, I will allow you to make one, and if I accept, I will include them as main characters (though mine will be the MAIN main character). The app will be below.

[align=center]It was a bright summer's day. The sun was shining and kids were enjoying their vacations. Everything was going just fine. Especially at Duel Academy.

 

All of the professors were gone on their vacations too. There was only one person left at the academy during this time. That person was a man by the name of Chancellor Hanz Roderick. Chancellor Roderick had been chancellor at duel academy for many years, and he would continue to be.

 

As the chancellor was filling out some forms at his desk, he noticed some strange weather outside. Dark clouds were quickly forming above the island. Winds started blowing violently, and soon after, thunder and lightning could be heard and seen across the entire island. Suddenly, a bolt of lightning struck the island, right outside the chancellor's office. In the flash, a dark figure could be made out.

 

There was a shattering noise as a huge gust of wind smashed through all of the windows in the chancellor's office that allowed him to overlook at the landscape of the island. All of the papers on the chancellor's desk flew everywhere, and the wind made some empty chairs topple and break. The chancellor managed to stay safe in his seat because his back was facing the wind. The wind stopped, but a small gust spiraled in circles in the middle of the office. Then, a figure appeared in the gust, and the wind stopped, showing a cloaked man standing alone. The man slowly stepped towards the chancellor. He then bent over the desk, a duel disk on his right arm. He grabbed the chancellor's shirt collar with his left hand, and pulled him close to his face. The mysterious figure then spoke to the chancellor in a man's voice, his hood still up and covering his face. "Tell your shitty little academy, and any other duelists you know. The Shadow Generals have returned." The man disappeared instantaneously, leaving the surprised chancellor alone in his office, not sure what just happened.[/align]

sounds great! And I will include all accepted characters a good amount in this fanfic. I hope to see what kind of interesting deck you use. Also, I can only use whatever cards you send me. I will not make up cards for your characters, only my own. You can always update your character by sending me new cards whenever you feel like it, but I have the ability to revoke any cards I feel are OPed.

Dark clouds, violent wind, thunder, and lightning are definitely good! The fourth sentence there is unneeded.

 

The last sentence kind of made sense...not really. I think you should have said, "The flash of lightning revealed a silhouette of a man."

"Tell your shitty little academy, and any other duelists you know that the Shadow Generals have returned." I think that's better.

 

Does the chancellor have short term memory problems?

 

It was a good prologue. You said, "the Shadow Generals have returned." Does that mean there were there before? Or did you mean Shadow Riders?

Umm... okay, that reply was long. Anyways... I took out that 4th sentence you were talking about. Anyways, besides that I kept everything else, and when only paperwork needs to be done, yea, an entire island where duelists go to school isn't much of a target and can be left alone to the chancellor. Now, if you want to know anything else about this fanfic, you can keep reading in the future. I've seen many other fanfics here, and I got to say, unless this is the kinda place where people LIKE terrible fanfics, this one will be MUCH better than most yugioh fanfics. This prologue already is better than A LOT of ones I've read.

 

Also, Blacklotis waiting for the app. A couple days is ridiculous. It is not any harder than any other app on here. BTW people, don't any of you wanna make a character? You even get to use your own cards that you make! So let's start seeing some of those apps :D

@Blacklotis: Your bio is really short. I don't know anything about your guys past. Maybe something about his aspirations (goals for the future) at the least. Also, your personality is too short. I have no idea how he would react in many situations. Does he ever get happy? Why does he hang out with people who manage to beat him? How does he demonstrate his competitiveness? Also, does he ever get sad? Answer these things in your app. Also, your deck seems OPed. Too easy to special summon all your cards. Every card pretty much discards and special summons an army quickly. Also, one of your cards is a pic of hollow ichigo. Plz try to change it. This may sound like I'm asking a lot, but I'm not. In fact, in an RP, or even a stricter fanfic, you would probably be asked WAAAY more in this situation.

 

@Duel Tester: Okay, plz finish your app when you can.

 

@Everyone Else: I'm adding a new rule. If you want your character to have some kind of back story with the main character, you can PM me about that. I can tell you the name, but that's all. You MUST send me the app BEFORE you post it here if you want a back story, and If I approve the app, you can post it here, but I may still decline the back story. I need to make sure that if you wanna be the main character's best friend or something, that your app is good enough for me to accept you as his best friend. So come on! Let's see some apps :D
