Bio: Dylan was the average kid. Decent amount of money. Twin brother and sister. A three bedroom house. Popular, clever, witty. However, there was something that wasn't avergae. He was extremely good at it. He soon became known as a champion of it. A champion of duel monsters. He never lost, and was sent to the duel academy not to learn, although the teachers insist on him sitting through the lessons, but to find someone to defeat him. He hasn't found that person yet, but has had a few challenging duels, though he beat everyone.

Bio: Zack was a wonderer, traveling from place to place. Happy with a life on the road, zack became resourceful and a quick thinker. When he went to a major city and saw the new pass time, duel monsters he instantly wanted to play. Working odd jobs to gain enough money to build a deck from booster packs he happily aquired a deck. Entering a local tournement and winning Zack attracted the attention of duel academy recruiters. Given the chance to learn alongside and duel against the next generation of pro duelists was like a dream come true for zack. He applied, he was accepted and now he's a new student at the academy, eager to test his skills and have fun.

Appearance: Nikki wears a green T-shirt under her yellow and white Ra Jacket, along with a knee-length white skirt. She has long black hair, and piercing green eyes.

Bio: Nikki has always been... different from the other kids. Before she was enrolled, she somehow landed a man in the hospital, with her own father arrested for it. Because her mother had died during Nikki's birth, she was sent to an orphanage. There, another kid showed her the game of duel monsters. Nikki began to play the game, and eventually became the best duelist there. Soon after, she was invited to Duel Academy, regardless of her young age. Nikki eagerly agreed, and made her way into Ra dorm, proving her tremendous skills. Soon after, however, right before she was about to be offered a position in Obelisk Blue dorm, she learned that her father had died in prison. Grieving, Nikki lashed out at the people near her, and soon both her roommates had had to leave the academy due to freak accidents. Nikki didn't care. She stopped playing Duel Monsters, and began skipping her lessons, until soon people learned to avoid the dorm she stayed in.

 

But about a month ago, Nikki secretly boarded a boat back to the mainland. She made it back, and returned the next day. About three days later, the judge that had sentenced her father died of mercury poisoning.

 

When Nikki returned to the island, she seemed much more cheerful. She still didn't talk much, but she at least didn't stay hidden up in her dorm room all day.

ooc: First actual Post!! VICTORY!!!

IC: Nikki hoppped off the boat and looked around the Duel Academy, a spring in her step that nobody had seen for quite a while. Ever since her father had died, Nikki had been very solitary and miserable, but now... now she was like a whole new person. Not at all what anybody would have expected for a girl who's father had passed away a few months ago. She noticed the main building, and began running towards it, her yellow Ra jacket flapping loosely behind her in the wind. Nikki stopped, closed her eyes and inhaled, before opening her eyes and continuing on her way to her new dorm room.

Crystal sat on her bed looking at the parcel Rex had sent her. It was a new deck.Cool!She thought to herself. She also noticed an envelope with her name on it. It read:

 

Dear Crystal,

I have stopped duelling with my old deck and I want you to have it. The deck I'm using now is Dad's old one. You might notice something new happening at the Academy in a few days time. I can't say what right now, but it'll be fun!

Crystal knew Rex's old deck like the back of her hand, it was a Crystal Beast type.

Quai stepped off the boat, and looked around. He recognized no one, but kept going forward. He took his deck out and looked at the top card. His Ace, Caius. He took out a letter from his mother and opened it.

Enjoy your first say, and remember: I'm thinking of you, and you know your stubborn old daddy is, too. The first day is always the hardest, sweety, but you'll make friends soon enough.

Zack strife looked at his new surroundings. "So this is duel academy, huh." All the new comers were stepping of the boat, chatting to each other, bragging about how great a duelist they were or looking around nerviously. "All of them are soon to be classmates. I wonder If I'll make any friend." Zack mumbled to himself as everyone went off in their own directions. "Guess I gotta go find my dorm and greet my room mates." He said as he walked off. "Maybe I should ask someone if there's a school assembly or something. I'm new, I'm lost and need guidance"

Crystal walked up to a scruffy looking Red Dorm boy, he had black hair and his collar stood up very high. "I challenge you to a duel." The boy nodded enthusiastically. "Let's Duel!" they said in unison."

"I draw, oh by-the-way, the name's Crystal."

"First I'll place 2 face-downs. Then I'll activate Black Illusion Ritual and send my Manju to the grave to Ritual Summon Relinquished!"

"Whoa!" exclaimed the Slifer Red.

"Next I'll activate Card Destruction and end my turn."

"Draw!" Max examined his hand. It was terrible. "I set a monster alongside two face-downs and end my turn."

"My turn!" said Crystal drawing a card. I've gotta win this duel so I can find out what Rex was talking about. "I summon Destiny Hero - Defender in defence position! Next I activate Swords of Revealing Light, turning your monster in face-up attack position." Max's face-down revealed Big Shield Gardna."Now with my Relinquished's effect I equip your Gardna to my Relinquished. Next I'll flip up Shield and Sword. Finally I'll activate De-Spell from my hand to destroy Swords of Revealing Light. Now! Relinquished attack!"

OOC: Valliant, most people nowadays play with either the 4000 or 8000 life points. The 2000 is old, easy to OTK and lame.

 

IC: Dylan sighed as he walked up to the ship that had just stopped at the dock. "Noobs." He muttered, oblivious of the red and yellow students around him. He hated days like this, when new students that hardly knew how to play turned up. He noticed a duel going on. "2000 life points. Big noobs. But still, that girl defeated him in only two turns. She has potential." He looked away, towards the crowd of would-be students that had gathered. "Ok, lets make this quick." Dylan shouted, attracting the attention of everyone on board. "I'm saying welcome to all of you, but for some I'm saying welcome back." He shouted cheerfully, but it was obviously fake. "Now, some of you know how this gets dealed with. Formor students, ones that have come back please line up by that plank." Dylan pointed to a plank leading to the right hand dock. "And new students on the left. Thank you." He turned away and walked down the left plank. "Now, do you see that big building over there?" A rhetorical question. Noone could miss the giant dome. "You need to form a line at the front of that building. You may communicate with others at the moment, but once we reach the building you will need to split up into your different dorms." And with this, Dylan walked over to the returnees. Hopefully they would be as easy as the Newbies to control. But he knew he was hoping too much.

"Only 2000? Even I use 4000, at least. And why destroy your own Swords of Revealing Light? That card only freezes your opponent." Quai said, examining the duel he'd just witnessed. "That Slifer just got cheated, bad." he criticized of the girl who'd won. "Maybe if she'd defeated him in two turns playing with 4000, or perhaps if she'd played with the complete set of Duelist Kingdom rules, it'd be impressive, but to attack directly playing with 2000, that's just bad sportsmanship." He walked over with the other firsties, and followed along with them

Nikki nodded cheerfully. 'How do you get into the Blue dorm like that? 2000 point duels, one turn kills, killing a staple card of yours for no reason, taking on Red Dorm students... Aren't Obelisks supposed to battle other Obelisks, so they have a challenge? Well, granted, many Obelisks are better than others...' She shruggged, and continued on her way to the Yellow Girls dorm, putting on a yellow jacket over her green shirt as she did so. She paused in thought, before shaking her head and continuing on to the Yellow dorm.

As Dylan walked towards the group of returners, he noticed that there wasn't as many as there should be. "I guess some already know the routine." He sighed as he walked up to the group. "Well, it seems that most of you already knew the routine. You lot obviously dont. Well, you dont actually have to do this. But anyway, you may do anything right now. Go to the assembly for the newbs, go back to your dorms or wander the grounds." Dylan simply said, before walking back towards the group of newbies. He noticed one or two people following him, but took no notice.

IC: Darren stepped off the boat, and walked onto the island. "So... this is Duel Academy huh? ...Looks great!" Darren smiled, as the sun shined on his face. His open blue jacket flapped with the small breeze. He walked towards the Obelisk Blue boy's dorm, carrying a large backpack filled with cards, strategies, and other things slung over his shoulder. Darren had heard something about an assembly for new students from some guy that sounded like a real douche, and being his first year, he decided to go there first. Darren walked off to the main building, ignoring the other student who was leading and trying to act all high and mighty.

 

After making it to the main building, Darren went inside and sat at the assembly. He had heard everything he would need to know, and he had his classes already memorized. He also got his academy duel disk. I guess I should get back to my dorm and find out who some of my fellow dorm-mates will be, Darren thought to himself. He walked to his dorm, and went up to his room. Darren entered and marveled at the condition of his room. It was amazing! It even had a view of the ocean! Darren set down his backpack and unpacked it. There was a locked silver briefcase with cards in it, a bunch of notebooks, all with strategies and some extra pages for future ones, and a special black box with his very own deck inside. "Well guys, looks like this is the start of one heck of a year. Might as well check out the rest of the island." Darren wasn't in his room for too long, so he would check out the rest of it later. He left the dorm and wandered around to see if he could find anyone else. He brought his duel disk and deck just in case.

And with his Big Shield Gardna, I'm even stronger!Crystal walked back to the Dorm to get some not-so-well-earned rest. I wonder what Rex was talking about she thought to herself. And why would he give me his deck, he's had it since he was 7. And as the day came to a close, Crystal laid thinking.

 

That night there was a knock at the door. It was Max. "I want a re-duel, 8000 life-points."

Dylan sighed. There were some late ones off the boat that seemed to think he was being an almighty son of a b*tch. Jesus. I didn't pick this Job. It's what I get for being one of the best, and oldest, students. Dylan sighed and walked towards his Dorm. He was glad to be rid of that pesky Job. As he entered the Dorm he noticed a Slifer red over at the girls dorm. "What the hell is he doing? He's not allowed there." Dylan asked, walking towards the boy. He grabbed him on the shoulder and turned him around. "You're not meant to be here. If anything you should be at the assembly."

Quai walked into his room at the Ra boys dorm. "Oh man, this place is going to be a trip. Why did I come here, I'm not that great. I only just barely avoided the Red dorm. Well, at least I avoided all the mess Red students have to go through. But still, what's going to happen to me?" he said out loud, sitting on the floor right in front of the door. He sighed and took out his deck. "Well, if I work hard, maybe I'll get better." he said, feeling almost a little reassured of himself, he walked over to his bed and went to sleep.
