"I appreciate you putting that gun down, Crewman." The alien, Commander Ra said. "I would rather you not point guns at me. Makes communication difficult.

"Yes." Grayson was barely able to say that. He felt numb. "Firing upon our ship makes communication difficult, too."

The alien pursed his lips. "It was a necessary maneuver. We needed to disable your weapons to stop any unnecessary fighting. We, the Alphyn, simply wish to talk."

"Then talk." Grayson said. "This is a purely scientific mission to make contact with a alien planet. Why have you impeded our way."

"It is too early." Commander Ra said. "You humans have only been around for what, a couple million years? You are too inexperienced to find other life in the galaxy. You must first learn more about your solar system. Bringing another race into the galactic scene, especially one so naive, could damage the universe in unseeable ways."

"So, what? You're afraid we will hurt all of you with our inexperience?" Grayson replied. "Well, I'm sorry to disappoint you, but you're not going to stop us."

"I know. That's not what I was saying. I am not going to force you guys to stop; Instead, we simply wish to begin you guys on a test run."

"Like you guys are giving us a chance?" Grayson said. "Gee, how nice."

The alien's face scrunched up. "Basically put, yes. We will give you a chance at joining us in the galactic game. We will send one of our own to... chaperone you. Consider it generous of us. We are giving you a chance to explore the galaxy. Your chaperone is already on her way. She will be boarding your ship shortly."

"What-" A chaperone? The aliens wanted to keep them from messing up the galaxy? However, Grayson had little time to think about this. A small ship has departed from the alien's ship and had sped towards the Challenger II at a unnatural speed. Commander Ra hadn't been joking. The alien was coming aboard...

OoC: Woah, that was hard to write. Basically, I just came up with a way to get a alien aboard... and if anyone would like to play her, you should probably send me a alien app. I just put them in the first post.

Cross was flabbergasted at this first an alien talking to us, and then telling us that we could travel through its race's airspace, and then he soon saying that he was going to send a chaperone to go with us, and he was wondering where she would stay, because their race looks water based, so would they have to put a water tank in their room? Cross soon walked over and soon smiled.

"I can't wait, we just started and now, we are making contact with alien life..." Cross said.

Jason was uneased at the meeting with the alien. Very uneased. He just met a shark alien thing that was around longer than humans. It came with super advanced technology with its age. It dind't make him settle at all. Slowly, the crew filed out of the room, Jason leaving last. He always did want to see alien life, but this just felt... strange. It was like they weren't suppose to be there. Something was going through his head, but he didn't know what. Maybe a quick rest will do the trick... Jason headed towards his room witht he strange feeling surrounding him.

Damn. Not a hostile one. Still, it's an alien. Dylan thought cursing under his breath. Then he realised what he'd been thinking. "Snap out of it Dylan. You're better than this. You are not on this ship because you like to shoot. You wanted a way to stop war, and this is your chance." Dylan muttered. He sighed and climbed off the cannon. He grabbed an Intercom and looked towards a screen showing the aliens. "So, Commander Ra, how come you know so much about us, and can speak our language? English isn't even the most common language on earth."

Grayson got up to move to the hangar bay, which he saw the alien's ship dock at. Turning, he saw all officers besides Smith had already left to the hangar bay. As Grayson still wanted to talk to Ra, he took out a large, window-like device from the captain's chair. He pointed it at the viewscreen, and suddenly the image of Commander Ra jumped from the screen onto the window. As he did so, the alien answered Smith's question.

"Human, we have developed a technique known as Neural Bioelectricity Readings." Commander Ra said with a cold smile. "It is technology light-years ahead of you, as it does not actually have to do with software but rather with parts of the mind. By using this technique, we can read the electric currents that go back and forth between your brain. Loosely speaking, we Alphyn can read minds. And so, when I appeared today, I read your minds and saw most of you spoke English, and once again using this technique, I used it to learn your language."

"Creepy." Grayson muttered. Then he addressed Smith. "Crew, lets hurry down to Bay 1. We don't want to miss the first alien setting foot on a Earth ship."

Stratton woke up, and looked at his dark room. Da,m cryo-stasis. Wonder what happened. He quickly hopped up, and ran over to a terminal. Activating it, he quickly scanned, and learned what had been happening. "Woah..." he said quietly, before turning, grabbing his personal energy pistol, and heading out. He ran down the hallway, heading for the hangar deck. Soon, he reached the Captain, and some other crew. He looked at them, and understood that something big was going down. "Bay 1? What's happening in Bay 1, Captain?" He saw that they were in a hurry. "Explain to me on the way there, please, sir."

"Aliens." Grayson said shortly, striding along the last hallway to the hangar bay. "Our little friend here" -Grayson gestured to Ra-"Has decided we need a chaperone. Now, then," Grayson continued, addressing Ra, "Who are you sending to us?"

"Her name is -in the English language- Daei." Commander Ra said. "She is a Asar-grax, a Alphyn commander. She is one of the best N.B.R. (Neural Biological Readings) user we have."

Grayson filed away the information for further use. "Mhmm." He said, and found himself at the large door to Hangar Bay 1. Bracing himself, Grayson walked through the door. He emerged in a large, stainless steel airplane hangar, and among other, Earth ships, Grayson could see a ship that was clearly not human-made- It was made from a white glossy metal with brown touches. It was shaped like a duck's bill and around it, a small crowd of crew members could be seen, waiting for the alien to appear.

"Well," Grayson announced to the group around him, "Ready to get face-to-face with a alien?"

Stratton followed Grayson, and looked curiously at the duck-bill shaped ship. Wondering what the purpose of the shape of the ship was, he quickly hurried over and joined the other crew members, including Warrant Officer Ripley. Stratton stayed slightly behind the group, however, remaining at Captain Wakefield's side. Cautiously, a hand reached down, and touched the energy pistol at his side. It was loaded, but he did not draw it, hoping things would happen peacefully. "Well, where is she?" he asked, looking around the general area of the duck-beak-ship.

Jason coudn't sleep. He hopped out of his bed and walked to the room where they met the first alien. "So they are sending another on of them to us," Jason muttered under his breath. "Female to. Good thing they aren't sexist." As Jason walked to the room, he saw Straube working on some mechanical thing. "Wactha got there, Corpral?" Straube jumped a little at Jason, surprising him. "Oh just something I"m working on. Top secret." Jason laughed a little as Straube got up. "So where are you going?" Jason smiled as Struabe go tup, maybe to join him to see the alien."Going to see the alien thre sending abord the ship. Apparaently, we need a chaperone."Straube eyes widen as Jason finished his sentence. "O-o-o-on this s-s-hip?" Jason grabbed Straube and smiled. "Yeah, you're coming with me."

Cross was happy, but as a high ranking official he had to keep his cool, which meant not asking too many questions as that was all that filled his head, and he felt happy, as he began cleaning himself up and prepared to meet the alien.

Cross soon asked, "Does she have a DNA mask or something that makes her look human? I mean, I wouldn't think that she would like occasional weird and prolonged stares."

He soon focused on the studying of the species, and he wondered if they would let him study them, as he was quite good at taking notes.

"No need to be anxious," A soft voice said, seemingly coming from the alien ship. On the side of the ship, a door suddenly opened and a platform stepped onto the group. And then Daei appeared. Several of the crewmen gasped. Daei was...astounding.

She looked a little like Ra, with the tentacles and such, but there the likeness stopped. Her skin was reddish orange with white stripes along her skin, like the skin of a discus fish. Daei's face was heart-shaped, and there was a certain exotic beauty around her. The long tentacle down her back was wrapped in leather like a braid, and a dress made of iron chain-links covered her slim frame. She moved gracefully down the platform, glancing between the crew until her eyes rested on Grayson.

"Greetings, Grayson Solomon Wakefield. My name is Daei. But you already knew that." Daei smiled slightly, then turned to the crew. "Well, what are you standing around for? My species sent me here to evaluate how humans interact with the galaxy. So go interact! Back to your posts!" As the crew dispersed in muttering crowds, Daei turned back to Grayson. "Let us speak about the arrangements of my station here," She turned towards the door. "In a more private place." She started to walk away.

"Okay, then," Grayson stammered, and then followed her.

OoC: Since no one entered a app, I will take control of Daei. For now, at least.

Stratton blinked as he got his first glimpse of Daei. She was not his cup of tea, to be sure, but she was beautiful in her own peculiar way. The strange coloring also added a strange exotic touch. Stratton shook his head. What am I doing? Falling for an alien?! Get a grip! He tossed those thoughts out of his mind, and turned. The lady had said to get back to their stations, and Stratton planned to do just that. Except...Stratton turned, and quickly made his way over to the captain and their...escort. "Excuse me, sir...ma'am." He saluted to each one. "But when you say you will 'observe' us, what exactly does that mean?"

Cross he saw Daei, and he saw an astounding beauty that he didn't see much, and the last time he could remember seeing it was when his sister walked like that, he didn't know why it brought up memories of her but Cross wanted to talk to Grayson, and to Daei.

Cross soon asked Grayson silently, "As second in command on this ship, I need to know what's going on, so I was wondering if I could hang around."

Cross soon bowed, Japanese style in respect to Daei and he said, "Pleased to meet you, my name is Cross, and yours is Daei as we have already been informed."

As Daei walked aboard the ship, Jason did not feel the same feeling as most of the crew members aboard. To him, Jason thought Daei was just like Ra, just more... Jason paused for a moment he could not find the words he was looking for. Maybe femine? Jason shrugged at himself. Then Daei snapped out orders. Jason didn't feel like she had the right to do so, but he did not want to upset her. So, grunting on his way, he followed them.

Straube was standing there in sheer terror the whole time. He was afraid of aliens and other life, and meeting one did not make him feel better. Snapping orders at him made him run for sheer terror back to his engineer room.

Daei paused when the two officers, Cross and Stratton, asked her questions. First, she turned to Stratton.

Still smiling faintly, she said. "Greetings, Jason Stratton. What I mean by "observing" is just that. I will simply watch you go about on your mission, and evaluate your performance. By my evaluation, the Alphyn will decide whenever or not to allow you to continue or not explore the galaxy." Then she turned to Cross. "Hello, Lyle Carter. I do not believe we have met before, but I presume you learned my name from Commander Ra. If you wish, you may come with us. Me and Grayson are going to-" Daei paused. "-his room. Isn't that right, Captain?" Grayson started, alarmed. He had just been thinking of going there!

"Yes, I would say so." Grayson finally replied. "So then- shall we?" He gestured towards the door, and him and Daei walked through the door, knowing however that would follow would simply trail behind.

As Jason was walking out of the room he noticed two of the officers were asking questions to the alien. I thought she told us to leave her... Jason stopped in his tracks and turned around. He looked at Daei and stared at her for a little while. Then he spoke inside of his mind. What else do you know about us?

Straube bolted out of the room, panting as soon as he stopped. "Man, aliens are freaky." As he caught his breath, he walked to the science room. There, he saw Chirstoph, the scientist he had battled with earlier. "Hey Cristoph. Did you go and see the alien?" Straube had sweat running down his head.

Daei smiled at Jason. "Quite a lot, actually. Your mind is fascinating; I have learned quite a lot about the human race." She looked out him knowingly, and then turned away, catching up with Grayson who was already in his room. "So," She began. "Where shall I watch you men and women perform.

"I would say the Command port. It is probably the best place." Despite not wanting Daei aboard, he was determined to act as professional as possible. "And as for where you'll be sleeping," He said, forestalling the next question, "I have a couple of empty room down in Corridor 3-BEA. You may stay in one of them."

"Very good, Grayson." Daei said. "That was quite professional. And I already knew you were that; You don't have to try to act it."

Cross was hovering, trying his best to be a fly on the wall as he followed and he listened in on their conversation, and he was quite skeptical that Daei could probe their minds but that was an advantage as they could know traitors, but Cross had more questions than things that intrigued him, and he wondered if Daei could put thoughts in his head as she could hear his....to a point. Cross was feeling that he was interrupting the most action that Grayson had with a woman since.....since....his sister.

Cross said, "Daei, now even though I might seem a bit annoying, I am just filled with awe, and with awe, comes questions, now, if you can probe our minds, can you not make a suitable human form mirage, I mean, it would be along the same lines as your technology, or to 'trick' our minds," Cross doing air quotes on trick, "that you looked human, I mean if you can see what things go out, what's to say you can't put things in?"

Cross knew he was being a nuisance but his curiosity was overpowering everything in his head, as he was Pandora, and knowledge was his box, and curiosity is making him to force it open, by bombarding Daei with questions. After coming down from his intrigue high he went and said, "Sorry for being so annoying with the questions, that's probably a horrible first impression, I'm just curious, and sometimes I lose control, but since our mission is to study alien life, I was wondering if I could.....study you, you know, sketch you, ask you questions, do other things as such."

Cross soon gave his brother the 'sorry I'm disturbing look', and he apologized with his eyes.

"Not quite." said Daei, unperturbed by Cross' questions. Grayson, on the other hand, looked quite outraged his second in command would ask such impertinent questions, but the tongue-lashing he was about to give was stopped by Daei, who raised a hand to quiet Grayson and turned towards him.

"Calm, Grayson. Your crewman did not mean any insult with those questions. It is quite alright for him to ask them. Now then," -Daei turned back to Cross- "for your first question, no, I cannot create illusions. The NBR technology works by reading your brainwaves, not by altering or influencing in them. It works like someone....someone...tapping into a telephone conversation. You can listen to what the people are saying, but you cannot say anything yourself. And as for your other questions" -Daei gave a steely smile- "I might permit you to study me, but not now. Not until I know you're trustworthy will I give up the secrets of my race."

Cross was ecstatic at his answers, but that opened room for more questions, but fear for Grayson's wrath kept him calm and reserved, or at least it appeared. Once he found that Daei was okay with his intrigue, he knew that she was a diplomat....of some sorts, she seemed to be used to answering questions. He knew that Daei was just protecting the secrets of her race, and since he was consoled by that he kept calm, and he knew that soon enough she would allow him to study her.

Cross soon asked, "Do you have any old prototypes of the NBR....that I can...." Cross paused looking for the right word besides modify, "tinker with, so that maybe I could make a mirage, because if it works like a telephone, that means you can take the feed, and replace it with a fake feed, and then just kind of give a distorted feed."

Cross knew there would be time for answers and that he would have to wait.

"No, I'm sorry." For once, Daei actually looked sad. She could see the scientist in Cross. "I do not have any prototypes. They do exist, but they are on my home planet, the planet you call..." -Daei focused for a second- "Vega-8."

Christoph looked up when Engineer Straube called his name. "Hello there, William." He said, faintly surprised to see Engineer Straube walking down a Science corridor. "No I did not see the alien. I will soon, I assure you, but right now, I'm a little...occupied." Christoph was still thinking of the burned up meteor. For some reason, he did not think it had been burned by the Alphyn ships, which were long gone by now. Christoph had watched them carefully on a terminal in this hallway. They had acted like this was there first time in the solar system, moving cautiously. And this meteor had been found much farther in the solar system. No, Christoph did not think it was the Alphyn was the one inside the solar system...he thought some other alien race was watching them now...

Straube looked up. "Got something on your mind, Christoph? Maybe I can help." Straube straightened his back, feeling less frightened with he alien off his mind. "I can do a lot of things, been in engineering since I was a kid."

Jason was surprised that Daie answered his question in such a calm manner. Though the alien seemed friendly, he just had a bad feeling about this. Jason shook his head. That all sounds to familiar....

ooc: starwars reference. TAKE THAT TREKIES!

Cross was sad, and even though she said there weren't he could still find out about their functions and uses, he was okay with talking and studying Daei, as a person, and as a creature, of course, since Cross graduated early, and excelled at especially Science, and Grayson knew what he did as Cross was chosen for his prowess, and Cross was one of the forerunners of Science, the reason why he wasn't an engineer though was because he was good with weapons and designed a major amount of them.

Cross said, "I'm going to leave you two alone, I think I've pestered Daei enough."

Cross met Cristoph with a look, when he said in his authoritive voice and said, "What are you thinking about Cristoph?"

Christoph sighed when both Straube and Cross saw right through him. He never was a good liar.

"I'm sorry," Christoph began. "It's just that I took a sample of a passing meteor a few days ago. And when I scanned it, the strangest thing came up; the meteor had been burned by some sort of rockets! It wasn't us, and I'm pretty sure it wasn't the Alyphn...so who could it?"

Several rooms away, Daei, who had been finalizing the details with Grayson, jerked up suddenly and looked in Christoph's direction. Even with fish-like skin, you could see that she had paled.

Cross felt a bit light headed as he said, "Christoph, get me a sample, or a laser scan of the rock, and bring it STAT! I might need Daei and Grayson, so bring them to the conference room, and I'll meet you there after bringing my notes."

Cross was scared, and he needed some expert knowledge on what it was (Daei) and how to deal with it (Grayson), and he might as well prepare for more things too.

"Christoph, get to the conference room after you call these people, if it's what I think, then we are in for a serious ride. Anyway, we need to examine this from every point of view." Cross said as he ran to his room.

Cross grabbed his binder and notebook, which were neatly kept, and he ran as fast as he could towards the conference room.
