Lucas was ready for anything that might happen. "(The anticipation is killing me......)" Lucas thoguht to himself as sweat was running down his forhead. Just then, a spit wad came towards Trent and another boy. "(Gah........ Spit?)" Lucas thought to himself as he became more nervous. Lucas then stepped to the left a little while still tightly gripping his sword handle. He then looked at Britney and noticed a creepy sensation. "(Whoa, Britney sure can be scary......... Definately scarier than any Shine Soldiers for sure......)" Lucas nervously thought as he wiped the sweat from his forehead.

Ceodore gets up, ignoring the fact that Jane spit towards him. He looks around at everyone, wondering why Jane and Britney are staring silently at each other.

Ceodore has no idea what to do. Whether to run or to fight. He knows at least that this group is similar to him. Having powers...

Finally, Ceodore looks to Trent.

"Um...is she reading her mind?"

((Sorry I didn't mean to. Also my characters power is dependant on the amount of light. So if a shadow isn't very dark then its alot less effective.))

"Well I did live in Shine, but by the looks of things I don't think I'll be going back there any time soon." Sideway said as he checked out his wounds, they would heal, but he'd be weak for a while since the arrows had been made of light. "I don't think I'll be fighting anything for a while, so your abilities may come in handy. Though I do have this."

Sideway lifted up the crystal blade he had snagged from the final stall on the wall. It was made from a similar material to the buldings of Shine city, which meant it was quite strong. Sideway took off his coat and hung it from a low lying branch, he pulled out a sewing kit from an inside pocket and then removed his shirt.

He began sowing the holes in his shirt and once that was done he pulled the coat down and began on the holes in that aswell as the massive chunk that was missing.

"The tree boundry around Shine is pretty thick, the soldiers should have a hard time finding us or even getting to us, we'll be ok for about another half hour I'd say."

Damn. So close...

Then Trent saw it. It was hard to see, but he saw it. On her right shoulder was a faint glow that you could almost shape as a crescent. This girl is a crescent marked, so wait a minute. Why isn't she using her powers to kill us now? Maybe she was just playing with us. Two can play at that game. He made the Branches around sway and whip around the girl. It wasn't close enough to hit her. He just wanted to scare her.

What are you going to do now?

Jane stared at the branches waving around her. She could feel her strength returning, and her mark glowed brighter as a result. Jane looked at Trent, the marked boy and at Lucas, the other one. Sighing heavily, she let her arms fall to her sides, defenseless. She didn't like this game anymore. It was time to start a new one.

"Why are you all so mean to me?" she sniffled, shedding a forced tear.

"I-I haven't done anything..."

As Lucas continued to keep his guard up, he noticed Trent staring closely at the corner of the bushes, where a glow can be seen. "(Huh, is the bushes glowing?)" Lucas thought to himself as he began to scratch the back of his head in confusion. The glow moved toward a little bit, and in that moment, Lucas could see the faint outline of a shoulder. "(What the?! So there is someone hiding there. And this person seems to have a crescent mark.)" Lucas thought to himself.

A girl then came out of the bush crying. "(Gah! It's a girl! Oh no and she's crying. Man, I hate it when girls cry..........)" Lucas thought to himself.

Britney's mouth dropped when she saw Jane crying and her anger went soaring through the roof. "Hey listen just stop your stupid little game before i snap you neck cause i played that game tons of times and guess where that got me, it got me to the top so your playing my game now and i am not losing my spot at the top, so go ahead cry and play this game all you want but im the champion B***H So just stop crying and deal that your not gunna win this game cause i already won it" . Britney said in an antagonistic tone of voice.

Lucas hold me back before i take my earrings and shoes off cause then you gunna be holding them so i can kill this little girl . Britney thought angrily to Lucas as she began taking off her earrings. "Lucas hold my earrings now so i can kill her" . Britney hissed through her teeth as she pulled her fist back to punch Jane across the face.

As the girl continued to cry, Britney suddenly had a furious outburst. "(Gah! Man, I've never seen anyone so angry before.......... Without a doubt, Britney is WAY scarier than any Shine Soldier............)" Lucas thought to himself as he was paralyzed by Britney's anger. Britney then threw her earrings at Lucas, telling him to hold it while she is going to kill the girl who's crying, or according to Britney, falsely crying. Lucas then rushed at Britney, holding back her arms. "Britney! Don't do this! Ugh! She's not a Shine Soldier!" Lucas pleaded as he was struggling to hold the determined Britney back.

Jane smiled at Lucas, who was struggling to hold a furious Britney back.

"You're right for once," she giggled, advancing on him. "I'm not a Shine Soldier... I'm just a girl looking for new best friends to play with..."

Pulling his head towards her, she quickly kissed him on the cheek and winked. Then, she turned to Britney.

"Why are you so mean?" she asked innocently. Keeping her eyes locked on Britney, she slapped her across the face.

"Learn to have more fun..."

She ran into the brush, lighting a makeshift match on her dress.

Tossing the fiery wooden toothpick back at the pair, she giggled again as the grass was set ablaze.

"Have a good time, you two..."

Seconds later, Jane had disappeared into the forest.

As Lucas was continuing to try and stop Britney, the girl proclaimed that she was not a Shine Soldier. She then pulled Lucas towards her and kissed him on the cheek and winked. She then slapped Britney across the face and went off into the forest. Lucas' face turned a reddish pink color. ".............." Lucas was speechless about what had just transpired. "(Did that girl just...........)" Lucas thought to himself as he desperately tried to retain his composture but wasn't able to. Lucas then felled down to the floor and his face got more red. "Uh..........." Once again, Lucas was speechless, and he didn't even noticed about the bushes being on fire.

Trent made the grass surrounding the fire move away, stopping the fire from growing any larger. Then he stomped on the fire until it was gone.

"Don't worry. We'll run into that girl again," Trent said confidently.

By now, he had the feeling that he was going to run into even more crescent-marked people. He planned to get more than just Lucas and Britney, but it was better than he expected. He expected no one at all.

"Hey everyone. Get ready to go to Darklight City."

Trent walked off, heading towards the city. It will be his first time, or at lease he thinks. He might have been in Darklight City when he was a little child, but his past was a blur to him.

Here I come...

Jane ran through the forest, more confused than she first appeared.

Why did all those people have marks? I thought I was special...

Disappointed, she snapped her fingers a few times, watching branches clatter to the ground around her...

Where did the group say they were going? Darklight City?

Jane shuddered with rage and placed her hand over her mark, extinguishing its glow. Her birthplace brought back so many unpleasant memories.

If only Mommy and Daddy had been a little bit nicer, I would have spared them...

Lucas stood up from the ground and sighed. "Man I was caught off guard by that........ (That girl sure changed from crying to joking around pretty fast.)" Lucas thought to himself as he stared off in the direction the girl went. He then stared at Britney who seemed really angry. "(Uh oh, this isn't good......... I better get out of here before Britney try to use me as a punching bag or something.......)" Lucas thought to himself as he nervously went over to Britney. "Here Britney, you earrings." Lucas said as he hesitantly held Britney's hand up and put the earrings in her hand. "Well we should probably go and not chase after that girl huh?" Lucas said nervously as he followed in Trent's direction.

Ceodore was shocked at what just happened. He had already realized these people had power, like him, but he did not realize how strong they were...

While the two boys began to walk towards the city, he began walking towards Crystal Cavern.

He stopped. He did not know why, though. His mind was screaming RUN RUN JUST GET OUTTA HERE!!!

But, still, something compelled him to stay. Finally, he turned to the girl, Britney, and walked up to her...

"Um...hi..." he said nervously, "I'm Ceodore." He holds out his hand for the girl to shake...

Trent and Lucas continued to walk. He then noticed Britney wasn't following them. He turned around to find a boy talking to Britney. Let me guess, it's another crescent marked person. He look for any signs of a glowing mark, but he couldn't find anything. It's probably under one of gloves. Trent thought wearing gloves literally screamed out, "hey! I'm hiding my hand because there's a secret under it!"

Trent stopped to watch the boy talk to Britney.

As Lucas continued to walk, Trent stopped and looked at the boy talking to Britney. "Huh?" Lucas then ran back to where Trent was and noticed Trent was in deep thought. "Uh Trent, are you alright?" Lucas then stared at the boy as well. "(Hmm, I wonder....... Does he have a crescent mark?)" Lucas wondered. "Hey Trent, what do you think? Does he have a crescent mark?" Lucas asked curiously.

Ceodore waited for the girl to shake his hand, but she didn't. He retracted his hand awkwardly. That's when he noticed one of the other boys watching.

I can't leave Ceodore thought to himself, something in my heart just won't let me...

I might as well get some answers

He left Britney and ran over to Trent.

"Uh..." he started, awkwardly, "I'm.. Ceodore...." Ceodore started to hold out his hand, but quickly brought it back.

"Uh...what were you three..doing with that other girl?"

"Hi, uh, Ceodore. You don't need to worry about her. She just...appeared. So, Ceodore, got a crescent mark?"

It wasn't a question Trent would ask to any stranger, but he was sure this boy would have one. Someone or something was somehow making crescent-marked people come together, but why? Maybe he's just overreacting. Maybe it's all a coincidence, but he wanted to believe that it wasn't a coincidence. Something is happening, and the crescent-marked people are part of it. Trent thinks it has something to do with the war, but maybe there's another reason for this...

Jane paused in her step and tried to recollect herself.

There had been so many mean people in her life recently... those crescent-marks kids for one... she only wanted to make new friends. Why did no one like her?

Sadness turned to cold indifference as she looked around the dark forest around her, and she remembered something her dad had told her...

No one cares about you, Jane. Go away...

Jane squeezed her eyes shut, rage building inside of her. The crescent mark on her shoulder flared up. She couldn't bear the memories of her past life anymore. There was only one solution.

I'm going to have some fun in Darklight City...

Giggling sadistically, she started to dash towards her harrowed birthplace, intent on destruction.

Ceodore looks at Trent confusedly.

"Crescent?... Oh, this?" He removes his glove, and there is a moon shaped mark on his palm.

"I don't remember exactly where I got it..." Ceodore says.

Where DID I get mark from? he thought to himself. He concentrated, but came to nothing.

"Uh, where are you guys going?"

Britney had just put on her earrings and had just stomped away towards Darklight City. "Next time i see that girl your guys are going to have to tie me up and throw me underwater so i dont kill her cause if i do i will kill her in the most brutal and demonic way that you guys are gunna have to SHUT DOWN A CITY FOR HOW BRUTAL I WILL KIL HER" . Britney yelled angrily as she balled her hands up into fists and angrily punched a tree. "OW" . Britney yelled as she looked at her hand, squinting as she took the many splinters out of her hand.

"Alright Britney, just calm down (Man, I hope I never get on Britney's bad side, or else there will hell to pay..........)." Lucas thought to himself as he gave a nervous smile. "Umm Britney, is your hand okay? Maybe I should use my power to take out the splinters?" Lucas asked nervously as he took a look at her hand. He then directed his attention towards the tree and saw the hole Britney made in it, this made Lucas even more nervous. "(Yep....... memo to self......... Don't tick off Britney.........)" Lucas thought to himself as his face comically became grimmer.

"We're heading to Darklight, want to come?" Trent asked Ceodore.

If he's a crescent mark, he needs to make him come, too. His powers might prove useful, whatever it is.

"Come on guys, we're heading to Darklight City. Remember, try not to get a lot of attention. The worst case scenario is that they find out we're crescent marked. They probably have twice as many soldier there than there are here. We're only there to get equipment for our journey to Shine City."

Trent knew they would find themselves in trouble somehow. Lucas and Ceodore might not be any problems, but Britney...she seems really mad now...

Lucas then focused his attention to Trent and Ceodore. "Yeah, we should get going. Darklight's residences are the kind who doesn't know much about crescent-marked people though. We should watch out for the guards at Darklight, they carry spell rings with them. And not the cheap kind either. They're half the power of regular crescent powers, but we still have to be careful." Lucas proclaimed. He then pulled out a map and opened it up. "After we get our equipment at Darklight, we should probably head northwest towards Soladad City. I heard that Soladad is one of the most beautiful capitals in the world. But of course that's why it's called the 'Floating Gem of the West'. The city's build entirely on water so if we have to fight there, we shouldn't be so rough or else that city will be destroyed." Lucas proclaimed.

Trent felt good and bad at being the leader. He doesn't really have that much experience outside the woods, but he does know a lot. A traveler once dropped a book, and he kept it. The book was a giant encyclopedia of Cristal. He read the whole thing, twice. Too bad he had left it as his hideout. It might have been useful. Even though he has all this knowledge, he still didn't feel that confident. He told everyone he had a plan, but really, he had nothing. And reading a book is different from the real thing. After all, authors love to exaggerate.

He had heard of Soladad City. It was a major center for art, music, and literature. It was also the main center of Cristal's Navy, so they're bound to bump into the Shine Navy there. Enough about Soladad. They aren't even in Darklight.

Soon, Trent saw noticed the ground looked like a dirt road. They were close to exiting Wonder Woods. It was weird feeling, leaving the place where you have stayed for years.

"Darklight City..." Trent whispered.
