---Far Away---

The 15-year-old girl shook her head. 'Of course we can't just go there. Almost every single one of them is already there.'

'Exactly.' A boy who looked a bit older than her said. 'So we go there before they can get them.'

'How do you suggest we do that?' A man sitting across the table from them said. 'They're already there, and they have one.'

A younger girl, maybe 9 or 10, sitting beside the man, who looked stunningly like him, said, 'We get the others. Two beats one.'

The man chuckled at his daughter. 'But how? How do we get the others? They already have the lead.'

'Yes, but we have numbers.' The boy said, gesturing around them, to the other people sitting at the table. 'Just like two beats one, seventeen beats thirteen. Besides, we have better decks.'

'You can't be sure of that.' An old lady muttered darkly. 'Lightsworns alone won't help you stop them.'

---Midnight---

Nikki nodded. 'You're gonna need the luck, all right. Now take your-' She froze, before pressing her body against the wall of the building. Nikki glanced to the side, and saw Mr. Toshibo passing the dorm on his way to the boys' dorm, where he slept. Luckily, he hadn't gotten much sleep, staying awake to show the new advisor to her dorm, and wasn't paying much attention to his surroundings.

Hime, after getting yelled at by the residents, finally plopped down on her bed, relaxing after a big day. But tomorrow's going to be even bigger. Hime realized as she turned over and crossed her arms behind her head. Maybe I should just wait a day and see what the different students are like. I mean, it would probably seem a bit sudden if I just started teaching tomorrow. After all, I may be teaching discipline, but I also need to find out who needs the class and who doesn't.

((Is there anyone in the Slifer Girls' dorm?))

((And who is out and about at midnight right now?))

ooc: Are you referring to Hime, the new Slifer Red advisor?

Also, actually a lot of people are moving around at midnight.

'But I'm not using Lightsworns.' The young girl said. 'I've got my Nursery deck, and it won't let me down. It never has before.'

The man smiled. Nursery deck... Where does she pick up this nonsense? 'And, no offense, but my Biomechanical deck is a lot stronger than your Lightsworns.' He added.

The boy grumbled at this statement and folded his arms, which prompted a laugh from the girl beside him.

'Come on, Dom, it was a joke.' She said, putting a hand on his shoulder. His expression softened. 'Your deck is great. Better than mine, at any rate.' The little girl across from them nodded vigorously.

'Thanks for the assurance boost, Maria.' She said flatly, and they all burst into laughter, even though Maria didn't know what Lyn had said.

---Midnight at Duel Academy---

Titin frowned, trying to figure out what everybody was talking about. He wasn't exactly the smartest of the group. 'But wait. Don't we know where it is then?'

'Yes!' Came the exasperated reply from Blade, Mace, and Shade.

'Now listen.' Damian said, leaning in conspiratorially. 'When you get in, it'll be in the Red dorm. We all know that. But I found a file on Toshibo's desk about the new Red Advisor. Some lady named Hitokuchi. That's not important either. What's important is that you guys'll have to stay hidden until morning, when you can say you came in at the last minute. That won't be hard either. Promotional Duels were today, so we'll be in Slifer for maybe a month. That doesn't matter. We'll be gone by months end.'

Ooc: Oh, though she was a student. I re-did my post.

Violet ran all the way back to the Slifer's dorms, just narrowly avoiding Mr. Toshibo. She slowed down as she was nearing the Slifer's dorm curiously watching some people moving bags an suitcases into a room. She tilted her head, "Who on earth is that?" She muttered wondering who that was coming in so late.

She shrugged decided that her first priority was to get back into her dorm before she was caught. So after waiting until the people was gone, she quickly and quietly ran into her room. Violet then stuffed the Ra jacket into her draw then laid down, excited for tomorrow. "So tomorrow I duel Andrew, and Im in Ra. This can't get any better." She then blushed, "Scratch that, it can." She giggled thinking about Zack.

--Midnight at the slifer dorm, Forza's room--

Forza laid in bed sleeping away happily. He lost a duel but at least it he saw a wicked card. It also helped him realise that his deck wasn't built to help him summon his favourite monsters. So he made some changes to his deck earlier to increase his chances of drawing his mizuonis. Rolling over, forza started to mumble in his sleep. "I summon . . . (snore) . . . mizuoni queen . . . attack his . . . face directly . . . (snore) . . . card games on motorcycles . . ." Dreams of bad catch phrases and a freaky world where people dueled on motorcycles filled his head as he slept through the night peacefully.

((This isn't exactly controlling a character, since I'm just using the other character to describe something.))

As Violet ran along the path, she passed a clearing where the moonlight was shining through onto the path. Normally, that section of empty light was clear, but Violet passed through a shadow that was in the clearing. At the other end of the path was what looked like a well-endowed geisha with rainbow-colored hair, but with matching makeup that changed color in the lighting as well as the usual white of a geisha, a similarly spectrum-themed kimono, and a Duel Disk that looked like the top of a tent.

"I am the Clown Princess, and I request a duel from you." The woman asked Violet in a very upper-class tone.

'It's true though.' Another man said in a strange, lilting accent, before sitting down next to Maria's father. 'Neither of you are any good.' He grinned, before pulling out his own deck. 'Apep's Reign is the way to go.'

The old lady whacked him in the back with her cane. 'Get outta my seat!' She yelled, causing him to cringe, and then scramble into another seat, as the old lady sat down. 'And how are you, deary?' She asked Maria's father. He nodded vaguely, as Maria jumped up and ran over to her.

'Grandma!' She hugged the old lady. 'Grandma, what deck do you use?'

The lady smiled. 'Haven't I already told you? It's an old, special deck, that my own Grandma gave me. And when the time is right, I'll give it to you.'

'And I'll give it to my granddaughter, and she'll give it to her granddaughter, and she'll give it to her granddaughter.' Maria said happily.

'That's right.' The lady said, before lifting Maria up and putting her back down on the seat next to her father. Only the man who had recently been moved noticed that Agatha had never actually told Maria what deck she used. But he said nothing.

---Midnight at Duel Academy---

Zelkiax held up his hand to silence Damian. 'We all know this. Enough with the useless facts. The real important thing is that the others couldn't come.'

'The others don't have to come.' Damian said scornfully. 'We don't need them. I already have one Wicked God alone. Let the others come here after and clean up.'

Violet paused in her run, and turned to the new voice. Her heart raced asshe thought she was caught but sighed when she realized it wasn't a teacher. She then looked at the woman who requested a duel from her. "Well...I don't know." Violet mumbled really needing to get back to her dorm before she was caught. "....Fine," She said after a while. She laid down the Ra jacket and pulled out her deck. "I'm Violet Fairfield by the way. Are you a student?"

"No, but I am much more than that." The Clown Princess explained. "I am a Duel Monsters Spirit, and I wish to challenge you to a special kind of duel. If you win, you may have one wish granted, within reason. If you lose, however, you must become one of my Clown Warriors for a week, also within reason." The Clown Princess activated her Duel Disk. "Activating your Duel Disk will be taken as a 'yes'."

---Duel Academy---

Damian turned and walked back to the Slifer Dorm. However, on his way, he saw Violet and the Clown Princess duel spirit. Damian hid behind a tree, listening in to the conversation, silent as a shadow.

---Far Away---

Maria stood up when a young man, maybe 19, called into the room, 'Dinner's almost ready.' Maria jumped down, and ran out. Lyn laughed at Maria's excitement, and Dominic laughed with her. Then another boy, with black hair, walked in. Daniel raised an eyebrow at Lyn and Dominic, but said nothing, taking a seat between Lyn and the man Agatha had forced to move. He glanced up at the man, but said nothing. After all, when you've been in hiding for years, you run out of things to say, even to your own father. Even the seemingly endless subject of the families everybody had lost no longer interested any of them. And everybody in the room had lost family.

Agatha, the old lady, her son Wayne, and his daughter, Maria, had lost more than any of them. Dominic was totally alone. Lyn's younger sister had never been found, which is why she had taken to Maria. Daniel's sister was missing, as was his mother, a fact that had torn his father apart. And Zephyr, the man who was currently cooking dinner, had lost his fiancee, less than a week before their scheduled marriage. They were probably all dead. But at least the survivors had each other.

Violet nodded activating her duel disk. "I do accept, and if you don't mind I'll take the first turn." She drew her first five cards. Not bad, not bad, She thought looking at her hand. "To kick things off, I'll play Cursed Marionette(400/1500) in defense mode, and when this card is normal summoned I can play another puppet monster. So say hello to Rouge Puppet(1600/1000). To end my turn I'll play two face downs and end my turn." Violet sighed hoping that the outcome of this match will be different. She didn't need to become a clown servent or whatever.

The Clown Princess turned away and started to walk away from the Duel. "I sense unwillingness and hesitation in your soul. I wish to duel someone who will accept the outcome of this battle, whether they win or lose. Besides, I can't have a servant who is unwilling to be one, right? That would ruin their experience as one of my Warriors. I want a duelist who would be willing to become a Duel Monster Spirit, but also wanting a wish for almost anything, and you don't seem to fit the bill. I hope the other students here are less hesitant." The Princess walked into the woods and vanished without a trace.

((Anyone else want to go up against the Clown Princess?))

((ME!!!!))

Jack was walking around until he saw the Clown Princess "Huh? A DUEL MONSTER SPIRIT? Without a duelist with it?! Weird!" Jack said to himself as he ran up to the Clown Princess "How is this possible?!" Jack yelled, looking around to make sure that it wasn't a hologram "Not a hologram, a duel spirit without a duelist."

Damian raised an eyebrow at the duel spirit, as he motioned for the others to surround Violet. They nodded silently, and got into position. Violet had no way of leaving the clearing without running into at least one of them. Damian backed away towards the Slifer dorms, thinking about what the duel spirit had said. A wish just for victory? I could beat that, easy.

---Far away---

'So, yeah.' Dominic was saying. 'We have no choice but to go. Otherwise, they'll get the Wicked Gods again, and then we'll be worse off than before.'

'How can it get worse?' Wayne asked, sitting between his mother and his daughter. 'We're alive so far. We survived the first time.'

Zephyr walked in. 'But not without severe losses. If they get the Wickeds again, they'll wipe out everybody. I thought Duel Academy was a safe place to hide them. But maybe it's not as good to be safe as to be unnoticed.'

'Nonsense.' Agatha said. 'It'd be easier to get something hidden than something guarded.'

'Would it?' Daniel asked slowly. His lilting voice still sounded strange to the group, who heard it so little. 'Defenses can be slipped past. Can lack of knowledge? There's no way to cheat through not knowing. You can cheat if you know how to. But if the problem is figuring out, then you're screwed with following the rules.'

'That's not important.' Daniel's father said. 'We have to go - now!'

The Clown Princess noticed Jack, and smiled. "I sense the resolve to duel and get a wish granted, but are you willing to not only change into one of my Clown Warriors upon your defeat, but also into a girl? Be warned, because I will only duel those that are completely accepting of the consequences of losing and willing to be one of my Clown Warriors if they do lose. If you do not wish to accept the risk, then you are not worthy."

'But what about dinner?' Maria asked. Lyn smiled, as Daniel's father sighed resignedly.

'Fine. We have to go after dinner. Saving the world can wait. Let's just go get some potatoes.' He said sarcastically.

'Okay!' Maria said, and ran into the kitchen to help Zephyr carry the food in.

'Eat up.' He said, passing out plates of food.

After they had finished, as Zephyr, who was sort of the group's cook, cleaned the plates away, Lyn and Wayne were having a discussion.

'But wait, the age restrictions...' Lyn said, thinking.

'Yeah.' Wayne frowned slightly. 'Between, what was it, thirteen to sixteen? That means only you, Dominic, and Daniel can go. The rest of us are too old.'

'Hey!' Maria yelled. 'I'm not old!'

'No.' Wayne said, shaking his head, 'No, you most certainly are not.'

"I draw, but before we continue, are you sure you want to go through with this?" The Clown Princess seemed a bit concerned. "I sense a tiny bit of doubt in your soul, and I was just wondering. Remember that you get a somewhat limited wish if you win, but you enter a somewhat free contract and get a partial transformation if you lose."

Meanwhile, Hime was fast asleep, relaxing on her very comfortable bed, oblivious to the occurrences going on outside.

ooc: Longer posts please.

IC: Dominic nodded. 'Oh well. I'm willing to go.'

Daniel nodded silently, his eyes flickering over everything in the room.

'Okay then, let's go!' Lyn said. 'The sooner the better.' She turned and walked out to the foyer of the small building they all lived in. She glanced over her shoulder as she turned a corner, and said, 'Come on, guys. Let's go!' She turned and walked outside, getting her first breath of fresh air for quite a while. Daniel and Dominic followed close behind, each of them pausing for a minute to breath in the fresh air.

'Let's go.' They said in unison.

"(Hmm I AM doubting this..... but..... I need that wish..... but, it'd be weird to turn into a girl....... but I never back down on a challenge....... I'm debating..... against myself...... wish or no risk, wish or no risk?)" Jack thought "(Hmm, she seems to have concern in her tone of voice........)" "Why ARE you doing this? You seem concerned but you're doing it anyway." "(.... I wonder what she'll say about THAT.)"

"I am only willing to do this if you are." The Princess replied. "I don't want a Clown Warrior who is reluctant, because that would upset the transformation process, and probably make it permanent. And I want the duelists here to experience being a Duel Monster Spirit because a few of them have Duel Monster Spirits of their own, but they treat their Duel Monsters as weapons instead of companions. If I turn a student into one of my companions, they might be able to understand the pain these other Spirits are feeling. I have no desire for vengeance, but I do want these Spirits to stop hurting."

"I completely understand what you're saying....... I can see them....... I treat them like more then just companions........ I treat them like the best friends a guy could have............" Jack explained as Junk Warrior appeared next to him, Jack looked at him and smiled "You COULD say I can feel their pain....... that's what it's kinda like........ it doesn't feel right....... all the spirits should be happy......"

"Well, would you be willing for me to turn you into a Clown Warrior, without me dueling you? At the end of the week you spend in my employ, I will grant you your wish. What I will do is fuse your ka with your ba, creating a hybrid between human and Duel Monster. You will look like a normal human to other humans, but you will appear as your Clown Warrior form to Duel Monsters. Furthermore, if I summon your card in battle, you will be knocked unconscious and appear on the field, where you will remain a Duel Monster until the duel ends." The Clown Princess extended her arm to Jack. "Are you willing to take this offer?"

'What about us who aren't happy?' A figure appeared from the shadows, a skeletal form holding a wickedly pointed sword. 'What about those of us who are used as nothing more than weapons?' Its voice was strange, sort of hollow sounding, like an echo. Zelkiax reached instinctively towards his duel disk, seeing his own duel spirit. He cursed silently, and slowly stalked towards Jack and the Princess. 'Summon, Skeletal Trooper.' He whispered, placing his card onto his duel disk, and the Skeletal Duel Spirit vanished. Zelkiax backed away slowly, silently cursing his disobedient duel spirit.

The Clown Princess smiled as she yelled into the darkness. "Then I will fight for your freedom! I know about the Wicked Gods, and I know what they can do!" She then did a very un-princess-ly thing by raising her fist into the air. "I will fight not only against these abominations, but also for the liberation of every mistreated Duel Monster on this island!!!"

Hime smiled as she tossed about on her bed, as if she was having a very good dream.
