Septimus, in Joe Bob's office with Robyn, smirked. 'You never did know when to give up, Robyn.'

Robyn raised an eyebrow. 'This coming from the guy who's staring down Hiracos, and Shadow Corin and Sapphire? You're the one who should be giving up.'

'Good luck with that.' Septimus replied. 'I set a monster, then summon the one who can take down Sapphire. Klawdran - Lycan King of Shadowver, rise! Destroy Sapphire!' [3000/3000]

Robyn laughed scornfully. 'You know Corin can take down Klawdran, easy? My move. Since it seems we're moving away from the heroes of the Magickal world, let's move onto the beasts, shall we? Rise, Telekhine King!' [2100/900] 'Not to mention one of Flint's biggest problems during the siege on Snowman's Land, as well as Amy's most recent Orace mission. Remember?'

Septimus shuddered. 'Dream Demon.'

Alexis watched him walk away and she turned to the girl and said "Underworld deck huh? Let me check my ID Pad to see what your deck is like" *Alexis pulls out her ID Pad* She scowled and said "Your deck is pretty good. Nice to see we have a new student arriving. But I wonder, why are you here so late in the semester?" Alexis smiled and gangster hugged Bea and she popped a Map Pad out of her duel disk and offered it to Bea. Alexis said "Here you go, it says where your dorm and room is and it will lead you there as well."

"Heh, I guess you do know." Kay responded jokingly. "Anyways, I think Kiuren is a little bit," Kay pause for a second thinking of the right word to see so Kiuren wouldn't get even more irritated. "agitated, if you know what I mean." Kay finished his statement while giving a sincere smile. After Valafar heard the statement Dreamius made, he lowered his body in a comical and depressed manner with two tear drops in his eyes. "I need to work on it?...... Is it not manly enough?......" Valafar stated sulkingly. Kay once again leaned over near Dreamius with the same face expression as before. "He also has a touchy feeling." Kay explained quietly.

"Oh, no, no, Valafar, that's not what I meant. I never said it wasn't manly enough, and I apologize if it sounded like it. All I meant was that it needed more smoke." Dremius assured him. "He's not always like this; he was very nice and peaceful before I came to Duel Academy. I think that dark energy is making him agitated and tense." He glanced towards the Academy. What's happening to this place? He picked up Kiuren and placed him on his shoulder. Kiuren started squeaking ecstatically and hopped up and down. Dremius winced a bit as he hopped, but smiling as he did.

IC: Zack went in the direction of Violet. "Well. I guess I can see duel spirits." Zack exclaimed. He looked at the sky and said. "It's a nice day anent it? I mean its a clear sky with the sun shining down." "Creeeeeeeeeeek. Creeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek!!!" The Forgotten Lock said. "What's that FL? Do you mind if I call you F.L. Forgotten Lock?" "Creeeeeeek!" The Forgotten Lock creaked as it nodded. "Considering the nice weather Joe Bob will probably be outside, but we can check his office too." Zack said looking to Violet.

'My move.' She said, frowning. Septimus nodded.

'I'm going to activate the spell card - Dark Lord's Reign! This works best in the Clock Tower Prison field, but it'll work anywhere. I summon Sapphire - Vampire Queen of Shadowver, as well as Corin - Dragon Lord of Shadowver! And with the Dark Lord's Reign, they become shadow vampires and dragons.' [2300/2300] [3100/1000] 'Hiracos, wipe out Rodney. Corin, take down Amy. Sapphire, fry the golem!'

'And shadow Sapphire let's me destroy the bottom 5 cards from your deck when she does damage. Give it up, Septimus.'

After hearing Dreamius' statement, Valafar quickly perked up. "Oh I see, hahaha!!! I am pretty manly, aren't I? Hahaha!!!" Valafar exclaimed as he placed his hands on his waist and laughed loudly at the sky. Kay's face showed a comical "What's the matter with him" expression. "Eh, Valafar, sometimes you can be so weird. I don't know how I can stand that big confidence of yours......." Kay stated. He then turned back to Dreamius and Kiuren. "Hey, if you're worrying about that dark energy thing, don't. I mean we have time to worry about that later. Just enjoy your life for now, hehe." Kay stated while giving a reassuring smile.

Violet smiled at Zack and nodded at his thought process. "Yeah Joe Bob is probably outside, but I wanna check his office first. I don't even want to pretend like I know what's going on in that head of his, and I thought I was crazy." She laughed. "So you can hear duel monster spirits now, too? What did Forgotten Lock tell you? You seemed to have been talking to it earlier." She asked putting her hands behind her back, and looking straight a head the Academy building coming into sight.

Andrew's eyes widened when he heard what Nikki said.

'You're serious?' He asked, dumbfounded.

'How could I be kidding?' Nikki asked, turning back to Daniel and cradling his limp head in her hands. 'I don't kid. You know me well enough to know that.'

Andrew nodded. 'Yes, yes I do.' He laughed weakly. 'Remember when we first met?'

A small smile flitted across Nikki's face. 'How could I forget?'

'First of all, I'll have Corin mutilate Klawdran. And I know my Telekhine King can take out any facedown monster. Attack!'

Septimus shrugged. 'Ineptitude is a vice. I never moved away from the heroes. I'll assume you remember this one in particular?'

He flipped up the card, and Robyn scowled. 'How can I forget the worst traitor since Marissa?'

Bea was startled when she suddenly heard a voice behind her. She spun around and he told her where Zanza was. "Yes!" she thought to herself. When she got a good look at the stranger, she blushed. He was cute! After he walked away, she realized that he knew she was Zanza's sister. But how did he know that?! Before she could pursue him, Alexis babbled about something "technoey" that Bea DID NOT understand. However, she knew how to use a map, and when Alexis gave her one, she cheered to herself. Then Bea thanked her "friend" and began to run after the strange boy. Suddenly, she heard a voice. "Bea?"

Zanza ran toward Bea. "What the heck are you doing here"? Bea jumped and spun around. She stood there for a moment, stunned. Zanza had the same reaction. Immediately, she began sobbing. "O-oh Zanza, I'm s-so glad I f-found you"! "Whoa, whoa, whoa, slow down!" Zanza grunted. He looked at her sternly, "What in the name of French Toast are you doing here"? Bea continued sobbing incomprehensible words. Zanza sighed, clearly annoyed, and looked at the girl, (Alexis, was it?) and said, "Do you know what's going on"?

Dante glanced behind him at Zanza, Bea, and Alexis.

'What are you doing?' He asked, a twinge of annoyance in his voice.

'You've barely arrived ten minutes ago.' He told Bea, walking back to the group. 'Seriously. Day three is usually when people start to really lose it.' Then again... Zanza's been here a lot longer than she has... Oh... I get it... A smile flickered across his face.

'Isn't it obvious?' He asked Zanza, grinnning slightly. 'Your sister missed you.'

 

 

Memories...

Nikki steps off the boat unsteadily, dressed in street clothes; a green T-shirt and a white skirt. She looks around the island, where several students are coming to help her, taking notice of the pretty girl who has arrived. Nikki rolls her eyes. She doesn't need help. She lifts her bags and begins walking towards the Main Building, where she will be tested for her dorm. She ignores the offers of assistance coming from the students loitering by the docks, and continues to walk towards the main building.

Andrew, one of the students, grins. He knows how to get this girl to talk. He's seen her type before. So he hurries to the main building, where Nikki is walking to.

Zanza was taken aback. He stared at Bea. "Is this true?" he asked. Bea nodded her head. Zanza was stunned. Did his cousin really miss her that much? Bea then explained to him what she'd been through. "You know how my dad was never around, so some strange people took me away and I've been on the run looking for you. When I heard you went to Duel Academy, I snuck on some big boat, arrived here, and have been looking for you since. Are you not happy to see me?" she asked. Zanza said, "No, no, not that! Not at all! But, well, I guess I was shocked to see you here, is all". He grinned. Bea smiled in relief.

"Yeah, you're probably right, I need to relax," Dremius replied. Kiuren nodded happily in agreement. He looked around, paused, then placed both hands in his jacket pockets. He's right, I really could relax. I shouldn't worry about that energy for now... but I'd like to do one thing before that. Dremius took his deck out of his pocket and held it in his right hand. "I'm going to go get something to eat... but before that, I'd like to duel you, Kay, if you'd like and you don't mind." He grinned at Kay confidently, hoping to have some fun.

'Traitor?' Septimus asked. 'That depends on your point of view. You consider him a traitor. I consider him a genius.'

'That's because you are a fool as well.' Robyn muttered.

'Speak for yourself.' Septimus grinned. 'After all, it takes two to tango.'

'And yet, neither of us are dancing.' Robyn replied. 'We are dueling, which has nothing to do with the same. Get used to it, stupid boy. Life isn't some big joke, alright? Especially not once I destroy you once and for all. Die in vain, traitor!'

Septimus smirked. 'You just don't get it, do you? You can't get through my monster. He's indestructable. How do you expect to break through my most powerful warrior? Go! Septimus Rahden - Soulsmith Overlord!'

 

Memories

Nikki reaches the main building in a relatively short amount of time. Andrew is already there waiting for her in the stands.

'Nikki Heartstrung.' Nikki tells the man at the desk, who is keeping track of the dorms. He nods, and tells Nikki to select who to duel to decide her dorm. Andrew stands up.

'I'll fight her.'

Nikki nods, and Andrew makes his way down to the Arena.

'Andrew Makre.' Andrew tells her, as he activates his duel disk.

'Nikki Heartstrung.' She replies evenly, activating her own duel disk.

'Let's duel!'

ooc: it's ok, i was going to have the crystals and gold, (yes you forgot the gold) disintegrate but it would be later. by the way he's not in the shadow realm......

ic: yes, your shooting star dragon may negate my first monsters attack, but invisible fiend hasn't attacked yet! attack directly! (he can keep on bring back shooting star dragon and then removing him, but my invisible fiend will keep on attacking directly, until i win!)

alex watched as the crystals and gold desintegrated. (aww man! now i have nothing to do! maybe i should try to find flaws in my deck. wait..... where's my deck!) suddenly another bubble came by, and alex popped it. he instantly saw himself tossing his cards in the air and desintegrating. (not my deck! now i need new cards!) suddenly something about the size of a small brick landed in front of him. it was a package. alex opened it up. (wow, this couldn't have come at a better time! wait, what kind of card's are these!) alex thought as he flipped over the top card of the deck: sketch city.

Alexis's duel disk sent out a metallic card with what looked like a campus layout. She pressed the onyx crystal on her duel disk and the "map" was shown going somewhere. Alexis took a charm off her bracelet and inserted it into her duel disk and said. that's all better. i'll be able to keep track of everywhere you go so I can find out what you're up to. Gaspard came out of his card and said "She was in a hurry, but she sounded like she was in a hurry to find someone." Alexis replied "how can you tell?" Gaspard said "she sounded just like you when I died. I could hear your voice from the shadow realm".

'I'll begin this by summoning Apep's Dragon!' Nikki states. Andrew grins. She's already said more to him than everybody else on the island.

'End my turn by setting three facedown cards.'

Andrew smirks. 'I think I'll set my own facedown, and activate A Legendary Ocean! Now go, Terrorking Salmon!' [2600/1200] 'Fry her Dragon!'

Nikki smiles. Andrew thinks that Nikki looks a lot nicer when she's smiling. 'You're so predictable.' She said in her unplaceable accent.

'I activate the trap card, Mirror Force! Destroy Terrorking Salmon. And now it's my turn. I summon Berserker of Apep's Reign, by tributing the Dragon.' [2450/1500] 'Direct attack! Now I'll end my turn, meaning you gain 50 life points by the berserker's ability.'

Andrew smiles. He likes a challenge.

IC: Kay's eyes widened with joy and confidence as he slipped his deck into his duel disk and pressing Auto-Shuffle. "Hehe, I thought you weren't gonna ask." Kay stated happily. Valafar's face also showed visible signs of excitement. "Oh yeah!!!! Alright, time for the fun part to begin!!!!" Valafar exclaimed as he jumped up and down, creating tiny shockwaves and smoke clouds. Kay looked back towards Valafar. "Alright Valafar, get back into your card so we can do this!" "Yes sir!" Valafar jumped back into his card as Kay set the card back into the deck and pressing Auto-Shuffle again. "Alright, let's do this." Kay stated before going further away.

"Yeah, lets!" Dremius nodded confidently in response. Kiuren growled enthusiastically, transformed into an even bigger dragon and faded away. From his pocket, he extracted a glowing silver gem and clenched it in his palm. It began to melt away and a mist started enveloping his arm. Then, the mist began to take shape of his arm. After the transformation, 15 glowing rectangular crystal prisms appeared outside. "My duel disk," he informed Kay. He placed his deck on the second to last most lower right. He positioned his arm sideways so that the prisms faced towards the sky. He smiled.

 

"Let's duel!"

"Hehe, alright, I'm guessing that I'll make the first move." Kay stated as he drew his sixth card. He stared at his hand carefully and thought for the best strategy he could use. After a few seconds, Kay looked up with a confident smile. "Alright then, I'm gonna start things off by summoning my Koa'ki Meiru Bergzak in attack mode!" Bergzak rose to the field and turned around to look at Kay. "Hey finally another duel! I was getting bored at the moment." Bergzak exclaimed. "Well look alive Bergzak! I'll end my turn with a face-down. Your turn Dreamius. Oh, almost forgot. I have to reveal one warrior type monster in my hand to keep Bergzak on the field. Alright, I'll reveal my Koa'ki Meiru Rooklord. And now it's the end of my turn."

The academy was coming into sight. Zack could hear the birds chirping and the voices of students talking away. "Yeah. FL was talking to me. But I wasn't sure what he said." Zack said as they entered the huge air conditioned academy. "Well it looks like we are here. Let's get up to Joe Bob's office." As Zack and Violet entered the office he saw someone who looked fermillure. It was that person that he saw in the Shadow Realm when the Wicked Eraser was taking his body over. "Hey over there. I saw you in the Shadow Realm!" She appeared to be dueling someone. But who?

Septimus glanced at Zack, and swore.

'I was hoping you wouldn't come until after the duel. But no matter. Robyn, you know what the head soulsmith does.'

Robyn nodded.

'Good. Now, I believe that's a 900 point recoil to you. My move.' Septimus drew another two cards.

'I summon Soulsmith Cooler and Soulsmith Tester!' [1000/3000] [3500/1700] 'Now, using Septimus' ability, I search my deck for any three soul weapons.'

Septimus scanned through his deck.

'I think I've found some. Telekhine Battleaxe, Elfish Longsword, and Dwarven Hammer. End turn by equipping all three onto my monsters, one each. And each one is a 2000 point boost to both attack and defense.'

"Alright then, I guess it's my turn. Draw!" He grabbed the top card in his deck and added it to his hand of 5 cards. He smiled contentedly. "What a nice way to start this game," he murmured. "First thing's first, I play the Field Spell, Iridescent Sanctuary!" He placed one of his cards on the top left corner of his duel disk. Instantly, the ground around them changed to glass and golden pillars rose around them. "Next, I summon Dream Hero Dremius in attack position!" He played another card, this time, right next to the card he had previously played. I attack Koa'ki Meiru Bergzak!

Nikki's grin widens. 'The Berserker increases your life points by an amout equal to the attack score of any monster he fights, before the battle calculation.'

'So why are you so happy?' Andrew asked.

Nikki laughs. 'Because I have Bad Reaction to Simouchi facedown. You're dead.'

Andrew scowls, as the scoreboard displays that he had lost without any damage dealt to Nikki, during his first two turns.
