Violet sighed watching the duel. Sure watching duels were fun, but being in one was even better. Sorry Zack She thought before getting up and leaving the arena. She was hoping she could find someone to duel. What about that guy who left? I don't know where he went though.... Violet frowned already seeing a delima. Not only that but other than that guy, everyone else was probably inside of the arena. "Ugh! This sucks!"

Phil grinned at the card he had drawn. 'I activate the field spell a Legendary Ocean.' He said. 'And now I set two cards facedown and summon a defense position monster. Go.'

 

Tim looked at the Arena Building.

'Sure. We're having Promotional Duels today, so if I win, I get to advance to Ra. I already lost once, against some girl Nikki, but apparently this guy said she was cheating, so yeah. Now I don't know which dorm I should be in.' He shut up suddenly, realizing that, again, he was probably talking too much. 'But yeah, sure. What deck type do you use?'

 

Dante looked through the deck of cards again. Yep. Definitely. Nikki's definitely been using somebody else's deck. There's barely a single card in here that she used in the duel, and definitely no 'Gishilnodon' Dante shrugged, and stood up in his Obelisk Blue dorm room, before placing Nikki's deck on the windowsill. When he turned around, Nikki was standing in the doorframe of the otherwise empty room. She had an eyebrow raised, and a look of mild interest on her otherwise expressionless face.

'Give me my deck back.' She said quietly, taking a step forwards.

Dante was not impressed. 'You've been cheating to get through that Slifer's Promotional Duel.' He said accusingly.

Nikki looked around the room. 'How about this; I duel you, with my deck, and then if I win my secret is safe.'

'Fine.' Dante said, before taking her deck off the windowsill. 'But when you lose, you have to tell your dorm advisor. Both that you cheated during his duel, and that you tresspassed onto my dorm room.' He tossed Nikki's deck to her, where she deftly caught it, before slotting it into her duel disk.

'Let's duel.' They said in unison.

 

'What's up?' An older boy in a white and red jacket asked Violet. 'What sucks?'

IC: "You'll just have to wait and see." Crystal walked over with Tim to the building. "Let's Duel!"

"I'll start, first I draw a card, Next I'll place 3 face-downs and set a monster. You turn." He won't know what's hit him after this duel. And with my two face-downs I've already won.

'Okay.' Tim drew his five cards, then grinned slightly, seeing he already had one piece of Exodia. 'I'll summon my own monster in defense position, and use Swords of Revealing Light. You have to flip up your monster. Now I'll end my turn by setting two cards facedown.'

 

Damian shook his head. Not him. The Wicked God is somewhere else... but where? He stopped suddenly, his eyes closed, his mind wandering. Into his mind a vivid image sprung, an image of Frank, the Ra Yellow who had taken The Wicked Dreadroot from Zack. Think you can trick me? He started moving towards Frank, who was standing alone, a little ways apart from the group he was with.

'Hey.' Damian grunted, in his gutteral voice. 'Want to duel?'

Frank shrugged. 'Bring it. But outside, the Arena's being used.'

Damian nodded, and they walked out onto the field outside.

'Let's duel!' They said, after taking positions on opposite ends of the field.

 

'I'll begin this,' Damian muttered, 'by playing Black Whirlwind, and summoning Blackwing, Shura, the Blue Flame. And now Black whirlwind lets me search my deck for any weaker blackwing monster. I choose Bora the Spear, who's ability lets me special summon him. End turn with two cards facedown.'

Frank frowned slightly, he had never heard of Blackwings before. Oh well. You learn something new every day, right? 'I'll summon Morphtronic Boarden, in attack mode. Now I'll set three cards facedown, and end my turn.'

 

 

 

Dante grinned. 'I'll begin this by summoning Quillbolt Hedgehog, and then I'll use his ability to special summon out Quickdraw Synchron from my hand, by discarding my Vortex Trooper. And via his ability, I get to draw a card when he goes into the graveyard. Now then, Synchro Summon! Rise, Nitro Warrior! Now I'll end my turn by setting a card facedown and equipping him with Big Bang Shot. End turn.'

 

Nikki looked over the cards in her hand, secretly relieved to be using her own deck again. This time she knew the win condition.

'I'll summon Warrior of Apep's Reign, and set three cards facedown. End turn.'

Dante rolled his eyes. 'Look, Ra, you can't win. I've got a three-thousand point monster on turn one. Give up. I summon Fusiliar Dragon, in attack mode! Now Nitro Warrior, attack!'

Ic: "What?" Violet asked staring at the kid who was looking at her. "O-oh, I was refering to the fact that I don't have anyone to duel. I'v already seen two duels, and now I'm all pumped up," She sighed slumping her shoulders, "But sadly no one to duel." Violet then smiled at the boy, "I'm Violet Fairfield by the way, soon to be the gratest duelist in the Academy! What's your name?" As she waited for the boy to reply she added, "Why do you have white on your jacket? Does it mean anything specific?" She did see some of those before but never knew what they ment. Maybe it was just some new fashion statement. I was probably told but didn't care enough to pay attention...Typical me...

"Whatever, my monster is Nimble Momonga. I draw. I play Djinn, Releaser of the Rituals in defence position and activate my trap, Gravity Bind. As long as this card is on the field, level four or higher monsters can not attack. I set another face-down" Come on, I just need to draw it, then the duel is won. Come on."Your turn." I WILL draw it, just one card, and this'll be over in a flash. Crystal became nervous as a group started to form around them.

Tim nodded. 'I'll flip my facedown Des Lacooda. Now I get to draw a card.' He grinned. 'And so I'll activate it. Lightning Vortex, fry Nimble Momonga and Djinn, by discarding sinister serpent! Also, I'll normal summon Sangan. And now I'll flip up my facedown Ground Collapse, and activate a second copy from my hand. Now this locks down four of your monster card zones, so you've got no room for anything but one monster. Des Lacooda, Sangan, direct attacks!' 8000/6500 'Now I'll end my turn by using his ability to flip Des Lacooda facedown. Go.'

 

'Aiden.' He glanced down at his jacket. 'It's 'cuz I'm in my last year here. You get this fancy white-red jacket for your last twelve months of staying here. Anyway, I"ll duel you, if you want to.'

 

Nikki took a step back as her monster was destroyed. But her life points weren't decreasing. Nikki smiled. 'I activate my facedown card, Apep's Blessing. Now whenever battle damage would be dealt, instead of harming your foe, you heal yourself.'

Dante glanced down at his life point counter which, sure enough, was increasing. Nikki's remained at 4000. He shrugged. 'Oh well, Fusiliar Dragon, direct attack!'

Dante gained another 1400 life points. Nikki drew a card, and her eyes narrowed slightly. The expression wasn't lost on Dante. She had drawn a good card.

 

Damian raised an eyebrow at Frank's monster. 'I special summon Blackwing - Gale the Whirlwind! Now I can use Black whirlwind to search my deck for another weaker blackwing. I'll choose Fane, the Steel Chain. Now I'll use Gale's effect to halve your morphtronic's attack points, and then tribute him to summon Blackwing - Sirocco, the Dawn! Sirocco, use your ability to increase Shura's attack score by 3700! Shura, attack Morphtronic Boarden!'

Frank took a second to realize that this attack would kill him. 'I activate sakaretsu armor! That cancels your attack. Now it's my turn.' He drew a card. 'I activate the field spell card Morphtronic Map, and then play the Stumbling Spell card, and summon a second Morphtronic Boarden in defense mode. Now I'll switch my first to defense position as well. End turn.'

"Of course, I would love to duel you Aiden." Violet smiled, "It was like you were sent by the duel gods themselves to answer my prayers." She said a bit too dramatically, while placing a hand over her heart. "If you don't mind me asking what kind of deck to you have?" She took out her, "Mine is a Puppeteer Deck, and in my oppinion the best kind of deck out there." She was itching to duel, and she just hoped Aiden proved to be a good opponent. She didn't really care if she win or loses she just wanted to duel, but of course winning would be great.

"Damn! Ok, I draw." Crystal looked at her hand. Yes! with this card I'll be able to comeback and pound his Lacooda."First I set a monster. Next I tribute my set monster and activate Black Illusion Ritual to ritual summon Relinquished! I equip Sangan to Relinquished to give him the same ATK and DEF. Now I'll activate my face-down, Ritual Weapon, Now Relinquished gets a further 1500 ATK and DEF! Now Relinquished attack his face-down Des-Lacooda! Oh and by the way, monsters equipped to Relinquished are placed in my Spell and Trap zone and are treated as Equip cards, the downside is I can only have one monster equipped to Relinquished at a time. Your turn."

IC: Tim took a step back, then drew a card. 'My move.' He said, before frowning slightly. 'I set another monster in defense mode. And now, I activate my spell card, Offerings to the Doomed. This destroys Relinquished, and lets you draw a card. So I'll activate my facedown Appropriate, so now whenever you draw one card, I can draw two.'

 

Aiden stared at Violet, a little bit wierded out, but after staying near Joe Bob for so long, you learn to ignore the stranger things in life. 'I use Aliens.' He said, activating his duel disk, and drawing a starting hand.

 

 

'I'll activate Snatch Steal. I take control of Nitro Warrior! Now, I also activate Monster reborn. Now I can revive your Quickdraw Synchron. Nitro Warrior, attack Fusiliar dragon! Now Quickdraw Synchron, attack him directly!' Dante took a step back as Nikki gained so many life points. If it weren't for her own Apep's Blessing card, he'd be dead already. Nikki smiled slightly as she saw her life point counter go up to 8600, surpassing his own 7050.

'End turn.' Nikki grinned. Dante was doomed.

 

Damian wasn't going to be put off that easily. 'I'm going to use the spell card Raptor Wing Strike, comboed with Mystical Space Typhoon, to take out your Stumbling. Now I'll shuffle Bora the Spear back into my deck using Raptor Strike, to bring any blackwing into my hand. And I'll choose that same Bora.'

Phil was confused. 'But wait, why would you just put your monster back into your hand?'

'Because,' Damian explained roughly, 'Now when I special summon him, I can use Black Whirlwind to search my deck for any weaker Blackwing, such as Kalut, the Moon Shadow! Now I'll normal summon Fane from last turn, and again, I'll use Sirocco's ability on Bora, to give him a bonus of 2500 points. Attack Boarden!'

Frank took a step back, before pointing out Damian's mistake. 'Each Boarden stops the other one from being destroyed.'

Damian grinned. 'But it doesn't protect you from Bora's effect. He pierces right through your defenses, as if they were in attack mode.'

Frank fell back as he took the massive amount of damage straight to his life points.

ic: "Ok, I activate the spell, Heavy Storm. Next I'll summon Defender, The Magical Knight in Defence Position. Now I'll activate the field spell, Magical Citadel of Endymion. Now Monster Reborn, Revive Nimble Momonga in Defence position. Your move." This duel's over for me if I don't draw the right card.

Violet activated her own duel disk and drew her cards, calming down a bit. "I hope you don't mind but as the saying goes, Ladies first." She looked at her hand before her right eye twitched. You've got to be kidding me! No monster cards!? She sighed, before looking back up and Aiden. She wasn't going to let such a minor set back get her down at the begining of the game. Besides, no first hand could always be perfect. "Alright, I'll play two face downs an end my turn." Since that's all I can do She added in her thoughts.

Aiden nodded slowly. 'I'll summon out Alien ShockTrooper in attack mode. Direct attack!'

 

Dante looked at the field, deep in thought. Then he came up with a plan.

'I activate my facedown card, Bad Reaction to Simochi. Now, instead of gaining life points, you lose life points.' He grinned. Nikki's card was going to kill her.

Nikki smiled serenely back at him. 'In that case, please allow me to activate my own facedown card, Gift Card. This increases your life points by 3000.'

Dante smirked. 'You know Bad Reaction only works for points you gain? In which case, I summon Stardust Xailong in attack mode. Attack Nitro Warrior!'

 

Frank stood up unsteadily. This guy is tough. He thought to himself, before continuing. 'I'm not done yet. I summon Morphtronic Slingen! Now, using his ability, I can fry both my Boardens to take out Bora and Sirocco. Slingen, attack Fane!'

Damian shook his head slowly. 'I discard my second Shura to activate my Fake Feather trap card. This duplicates any trap card in your graveyard, and uses it against you! Now go, Sakaretsu armor!'

Frank grinned. 'I flip up Trap Jammer! Slingen, proceed with your attack.'

Damian shrugged. 'Then I'll use Kalut the Moon Shadow's ability. Give Fane a 1400 point attack boost!'

'Huh?' Frank was knocked several feet backwards as Morphtronic Slingen was destroyed. 900.

Violet let Aiden's ShockTrooper attack her. "Thanks for that. Now I can play my trap card, The Puppeteer's Favor." Violet took a card from her deck, "This card lets me special summon any puppet monster with four stars or less, when I lose at least 300 life points and have no cards on my field. So I'll play Lonly Puppeteer(Atk1200/Def300) in attack mode." Violet said wondering what his next move would be. It was still his turn but now that she had a monster on the field she felt a bit better.

When you take more than 300 points of direct damage and have no cards on the field, Special Summon any puppet type monster with four stars or less directly from your deck or hand.

Tim frowned slightly. 'I play Pot of Greed. Now I can draw two cards.' He grinned. That's t- oh. His expression fell as he realized his two Exodia cards were copies of the same one. Oh well. 'I set another defense position monster, and play two facedowns. End turn.'

 

Aiden shrugged. 'I set three cards facedown and end my turn.'

 

Dante didn't miss a beat when his monster was destroyed with 3100 point overkill. After all, Nikki was taking the damage for him.

5500 flashed on her duel disk, compared to Dante's 10050. Nikki drew a card, and Dante gained another thousand life points through Snatch Steal. She grinned. 'You want to play like that? Bring it! I activate, first of all, Pot of Greed. Now I'll play double summon, which lets me pop out a pair of Warriors of Apep's Reign!' ATK 1550. 'I'll synch them together with Quickdraw to summon Stardust Dragon!' ATK 2500 'And I'll end my turn by removing all three warriors from play to give you another 1000 life points! I'll end my turn by setting a card facedown.'

 

Damian drew a card. 'And now it's endgame.' He said with a pellucid grin on his face. 'Rise, Blackwing Mistral, the Silver Shield. Now I special summon Gale the Whirlwind. Attack for game!'

Frank fell to the ground unconcious, and Damian took The Wicked Dreadroot from his deck. 'Heh.' He said to himself, walking slowly away, as he placed The Wicked Dreadroot in his deck. 'An easy win.'

 

 

Nikki and Dante both turned in surprise as a boy wearing an Obelisk Blue jacket walked into the room. Johnathon took a step back as he registered his brother dueling with a Ra student.

'D-Dante!? Why are you dueling a- a RA!?' John asked, dumbfounded.

 

Nikki stepped slightly to the side, as Dante paused, trying desperately to think up an excuse. He finally gave up and told Johnathon everything.

'Nikki was cheating in Tim's Promotional Duel and I saw and then she was using Andrew's deck but so now she's dueling me and when I win she's getting expelled for it. But if she wins then I have to let her go, but still-'

"I draw" Crystal looked at her hand. Noticing his grin she started to worry, then she saw what she drew. "Aha! I activate Card Destruction. Next I'll activate Hand Destruction. Now I'll send Nimble Momonga to the grave to ritual summon Relinquished! I'm not done yet! Monster Reborn, bring back Dark Magician!" She saw the look on Tim's face."I used Hand Destruction to send Dark Magician to the graveyard." She explained. "Now I play Swords of Revealing Light! Your turn."

Johnathon stood there trying to make sense of what his brother said. A wicked smile formed on his face. "Cheating, eh?" He turned to stare at Nikki. "Say goodbye to the Duel Academy!" he

said cheerfully. He turned back to his brother again. "Teach her a lesson, brother. See you back at our dorm." He left with one final glare towards Nikki.

Nikki stared at Johnathon. 'You do know that I'm completely home free once I win this duel? Make your move, Dante.'

 

Dante nodded. 'I activate Raigeki, to wipe your field clean.'

Nikki raised an eyebrow. 'Stardust Dragon uses his ability to negate that.'

'Yeah? Then I'll activate my facedown Disappear card. Stardust ain't coming back. Now, I'll use Card of Sanctity, drawing us both to six cards. And without Stardust, I'm free to use Soul Exchange. I tribute your Nitro Warrior to summon Frostosaurus. Direct attack!'

Nikki said nothing, as Dante's life points increased once more. 14650 'My move. I summon out the Weapons Master of Apep's Reign. Attack Frostosaurus.' She merely watched as Dante gained even more life points. 'Now I play Apep's Revenge. Endgame.'

Violet drew a card, smiling when she saw what it was, "I play The Dismal Puppet(Atk900/Def1500) in defence mode." Until I actually get some good monster cards I just need to keep on the defensive. And just in case I'll add this face down, after I attack. "Now I attack your ShockTrooper, with my Lonely Puppteer(Atk1200/Def300). Then I'll end my turn with a face down." She smiled happy with her move.

 

Ooc: I didn't know how many atk points your ShockTrooper had so I guess the calulating is yours unless you had a face down to counter it or something....

ooc: Oh, I probably should have said how much... I will from now on. Sorry.

Aiden grinned. 'Alien Shocktrooper [1900/800] has a higher attack score. 700 damage to you. My go. First of all, I'll activate Corruption Cell 'A'. That puts one A Counter on your Dismal Puppet. Now, I'll activate my facedown Brainwashing Beam, meaning I can take control of any of your monsters with an A Counter.' He paused as the Dismal Puppet moved to his side of the field. 'Now I'll tribute Dismal Puppet, to summon the Cosmic Horror, Gangi'el! [2600/2000] Direct attack!'

Dante took a step back. 'W-what?'

Nikki began shuffling her cards back into her deck, as her duel disk disactivated.

'Revenge of Apep is certain death, but only if my opponent has over 15000 life points. And you were 950 points over that. So you're dead.' She finished shuffling her deck, and placed it back into her duel disk. 'You are bound to your word. Nobody will know that I used Andrew's deck to defeat Tim. If you say that I did, then everybody will know that I defeated you with my own deck, and I will be advanced to Obelisk. And they don't kick out Obelisk students.'

Dante just stood there in amazement as Nikki walked out of the Blue Boys' dorm, somehow getting out without being seen. Andrew was waiting for her outside, and they walked off side by side.

Ok, maybe not the best move. I should pay attention to how much atk points his monsters have. She drew another card, but it was a magic card. Thankfully one I could use. "From my hand I play the card Pot of Greed! There should be no need for an explination." She said drawing two more cards, then grinning. "Finally! Ok I play Helpermer(300/100), and then play the magic card Pupperteer's Workshop. If there are no cards on my field, like you so thoughtfully provided, I can speical summon any puppet card with 1000 atk points or less from either my hand, deck or graveyard. So I'm brining back Dismal Puppet from my graveyard." I smirked,"But don't get too aquainted with him, cause now I use the magic card Puppet Charmer. I sacrifice both my Dismal Puppet, and Helpermer to special summon Snake Puppet to the field(2500/1500). Thanks to his special ability I can sacrifice 600 life points to add his defence points to his attack points(4000/0)! Now attack his Gangi'el!"

Sacrifice two cards to Special Summon "Snake Puppet" from your hand or deck. Then equip this card to the moster. When this card is destroyed you gain 1000 life points.

Helpermer-Monster

Increases the attack of all puppet-type monsters by 300 times the number of Helpermers on the field.

Snake Puppet-Monster

Once per turn you can give 600 life points to add the cards defence points to his attack points.

Aiden nodded, impressed. But it's not enough. 'I flip up my facedown Planet Pollutant Virus! Now this destroys every monster of your without an A counter, and I just have to tribute Shock Trooper. Now, I can summon Alien Ammonite [500/200], and he'll revive Shocktrooper [1900.800]! Synchro Summon! Rise, Cosmic Fortress Gol'Gar [2600/1800]. Direct attack!'

'The only thing is, Puppet Charmer gives you 1000 life points, so you're not quite down yet. End turn.'

 

 

Nikki was thinking. So Dante's sworn to secrecy... but that idiot told Johnathon as well. Now I'll have to keep him quiet too. Or... She turned to Andrew. 'You know, Dante isn't the only one who knows about it.'

Andrew froze. 'Who else?' He said nervously.

Nikki shrugged. 'Johnathon Brimston. I'd duel him, but, as you've said, you're such a better duelist than me.'

'Well, um...' Andrew was trapped, and Nikki knew it. And Andrew knew she knew it. 'Fine. I'll duel him. Stay here, this won't take long.' Nikki nodded, and Andrew turned around and ran back to the Blue Dorm.

 

Nikki waited twenty seconds, then turned and strode off to the Arena, disregarding Andrew's request.

Violet bit her lower lip, shocked at how easily he was countering all of her movements. It was as if his deck was built just to counter her deck. "Alright, my draw." She said weakly not seeing any way for her to come back. She still had two magic card on the field. Can't win them all I guess.... She looked at the card, and took a deep breath coming up with another idea. Hopefully this one will actually work "Ok, here goes everything. I play the tuner monster Cursed Marionette(400/1500)! And when this card is summoned directly from my hand I can play another puppet type monster. So say hello to my Poison Puppet! Now I tune my Apprentice Puppeteer(1300/500) to Syncro summon Sade, the Shadow Puppeteer(2600/600). Before I do anything else I play both of my magic cards Puppet's Remodle, and Shining Generosity. By giving up half of my lifepoints, I can us Puppet's Remodle ability to bring back one puppet-type from my graveyard. So Snake Puppet comes back(3100/6000)! Shining Generosity, takes the monster with the highest level, multiplies it by one and adds it to my life points! Thanks to Sade I get 1600 life points. Now Snake Puppet attack his Gol'Gar, and Sade go in for a direct attack!"

Once per turn you can half the monster's attack points and attack your opponent directly. The monster's attack points retun to normal at the end of your turn.

When this card is normal summoned, special summon one puppet-type monster to the field.

Apprentice Puppeteer- Monster

When this card is destroyed Special Summon another Apprentice Puppeteer from your hand or deck to the field.

Aiden shook his head. 'Gol'gar has an ability. I can remove two A counters from the field, to destroy any card. And I'll take one off of Snake Puppet and one off of Gol'Gar, to destroy Snake Puppet. So now your Sade can either attack Gol'gar, or you can use the replay rulings to cancel your attack. But keep in mind that I've still got two facedown cards.' An attack will kill you. Since Sade has an A counter, he's 300 points weaker than Gol'gar. And if Violet loses her last monster, it's endgame for her. But Aiden said nothing, just waiting for Violet to proceed.

"No, I'll continue's Sade attack, but I'll use his special ability to attack you directly(1300/600)." Violet look at her diminishing hand, and then to the field that only had Sade on it. "To end my turn I play one face down." Ok, even if I lose Sade, I just need enough time to draw Puppet World. If I can get that then his deck will be usless to him. And if he attacks me hopefully my Soul Sacrifice will be enough to keep me in the game if it comes down to it. "Your move Aiden!"

Soul Sacrifice - Quick Play Trap

Choose A card with 1000 atk points or less and put him out of play, as long a the card as not already been destroyed. Multiply the number of stars the card has by 500 and add them to your life points
