Duel Academy - Rise of the Wicked Gods (Started/No Longer Accepting)

Nikki glanced for a moment at Andrew, then turned her eyes back onto the duel, a smile spreading across her face. Sangan ran forward, but stopped when Nikki flipped up her facedown trap card.

'Defense Draw! Now your attack is negated, and I get to draw a card.' Nikki had, miraculously, survived Tim's attack.

'Yeah?' Tim was not impressed. 'Well, now I get to draw double that. Plus I get another 500 life points.' {3600 -> 4100}

'Uh huh? You like that, you'll love this. I activate Pot of Greed. Draw two cards.'

Tim grinned. 'So are you trying to let me win?' {4100 -> 4600}

'Not exactly.' Nikki drew two cards, bringing her hand total up to eight. Tim had ten cards in his own oversized hand. 'Activate Card Destruction!'

'Wha?' Tim took a step back, then composed himself, and discarded his entire hand, including two pieces of Exodia. 'Heh. I thought you were trying to win.' He drew ten new cards, plue two more for every card Nikki redrew. This is going to be easy. Tim thought, seeing that he had four of the five Exodia pieces already, in his 24-card-hand, and noticing the life point counter on the overhead screen. {5600 -- 1000} Now I just need her to kill Sangan, and it's endgame via Exodia. She may have survived that, but not for long.

 

Neither team was quite sure who was going to win now. But Tim had more life points than he had even started with, and a huge hand of twenty-four cards. That's a lot of ways to kill your opponent.

Zack ran into the Duel Arena as he toke out his deck. My Lockdown Deck will shut down who ever I duel for sure! He looked at the card Monster Lock. It was one of his most effective cards in deck. This was also going to be his first duel here in Duel Academy. He shouted at Phil and said:

"Hey Phil wanna duel me for my promotion duel? Man this duel looks pretty interesting to!" Zack said as he took a seat by Phil and watched the duel.

"So who's dueling?"

Forza stared at Tims family sized hand. He's practically got half his deck in his hand. He better end this quick or he'll run out of cards and lose by default. Forza checked the life point counter and the fields. But considering whats in play, I don't think he'll have that much trouble. Unless the lady has drawn what she was after. Maybe she'll destroy his infinite cards and force him to discard all those cards! Talk about a waste. Well, whatever she drew. It better pay off or she's gonna lose.

Nikki did not lose.

'I activate my facedown Secret Barrel card. This does 200 damage to you for every card in your hand or field. And I count 30. That makes a total of exactly 6000 points of damage.' Everybody's eyes turned to the display screen, which now showed {5600 -> 0} WINNER: Nikki Heartstrung.

 

All the Ra students burst into the loudest cheers yet. Nikki turned silently and walked back up to her seat. On her way, many of the Ra students tried to high-five her, but Nikki ignored them. She finally returned to her seat, where she handed Andrew his deck back. He grinned.

'See, Nik, we make a good team. I make the decks, you use them. Nice combo with Gishilnodon, by the way.' Nikki said nothing, except for two words. 'Mermaids. Really?'

'Well, yeah. And anyway, if I had been down there, he never would have gotten the chance to activate Solemn Wishes. You should have used Secret Barrel way back before he healed any damage.' Nikki said nothing, recalling that she hadn't had Secret Barrel back then. Andrew began to feel uncomfortable, and turned back to listen to what Joe Bob was saying.

'A marvelous duel, truly marvelous. Nicely done on both parts. Students, feel free to go back to what you were doing before.' He turned away from the microphone, and left, leaving the others to do what they wished.

 

'Hey, Slifer, you're sitting in the wrong section.' Phil raised an eyebrow at Zack. He turned to look at the duel. 'And Nikki just owned some other Slifer kid. She's pretty good at this.'

"Yeah I guess. I think I should duel in you in my promotion duel. So . . . Are you going to duel me?" Zack staggered.

Zack went up to the Head Teacher and asked if he could duel Phil in his promotion duel. The teacher said he'd think about it and that was good enough for him. Zack went to sit in the Slifer part of the stands and waited for the next duel to happen. Zack could feel that he was going to win his promotion duel.

Phil began chatting with another yellow-jacket student about Air-versus-Ocean dynamics.

'Really, if you're using those exact same elemental lord cards, 'cept different elements, it really depends on whichever guy lucks through. They're the same.' Phil was saying. 'My griffon'd be perfectly tied up with Kraken, sea lord. So, yeah. If our two decks, based on the same method, but with different elemental affiliations, whoever was luckier would probably win.'

 

Joe Bob walked up behind Zack.

'If you duel, use this!' He said cheerfully, before throwing a single Duel Monsters card at Zack. The card fluttered to the ground, as Joe Bob ran out of the room giggling. The card had landed on the floor facedown, so Zack couldn't see what it was until he picked it up.

 

The Wicked Dreadroot had appeared. The end of the world had begun.

Zack saw a duel monster card on the floor. He picked it up. Huh the Wicked Dreadroot. Like I'd use this card. It doesn't work well with my deck. Though I may use it. Zack thought as he put the card in his pocket. He went up to Phil.

"So you wanna duel me. I really wanna get promoted." Zack said with a small bit of question and a large amount of confidence.

"Oh and someone dropped this card."

Zack showed Phil the card.

Violet pouted, "Man what a bummer this duel turned out to be. He was so close!" She whined, taking out her own cards. Still that Nikki chick was amazing. I wonder what it would be like to battle her in a duel. Her...uh...Whatever deck she has, against my Puppet deck. Violet grinned going over countless stratigies in her head, and different senarios that may cause the strategy to go arry, only to come up with another stratagy that would get her back on tract.

 

She looked up just in time to see some kid sit down in the Slifer section. When she looked closer she recognized the kid to be Zack. Violet tried to get his attention but she didn't think he saw, or heard her.

'Never had a chance.' Andrew muttered as he and Nikki walked past Violet, hearing her thoughts on the duel. 'Didn't you pay attention? Nik'd had that card since turn one. She was just waitin' for the right time to use it. That Slifer kid had no chance.'

Nikki still said nothing, silently following a few feet behind Andrew, not telling him that Secret Barrel had been placed on the field when she had activated Exchange, which was definitely not the beginning of the duel.

 

Phil looked at the card, then turned and called out to somebody else,

'Hey, Frank, this your card!?'

The boy got up and walked over. He took The Wicked Dreadroot and looked it over.

'Yup.' He nodded, after some thought. 'Thanks, kid. I musta dropped it or something while I was coming in here. Thanks a heap for findin' this. It's my best card.'

He pocketed The Wicked Dreadroot.

'Thanks again.' He said, before walking off.

 

Phil turned back to Zack. 'Now that that's settled, sure, I'll take you on. How many points? Four thousand or eight?'

Joe Bob walked up to them. 'Eight!' He said, completely ignored by the other students, who by now were used to his randomness. But Phil heard him.

'I guess eight thousand it is.' Phil said, before turning and walking down to the duel arena.

Hmm. Forza wondered about the card the headmaster gave that boy with the green scar. Why would the headmaster give him a card? Then again, why does the headmaster do anything? Forza thought as he watch Joe Bob continue his little fit. How he became the headmaster I'll never know. Forza turned his attention back to the young duelists.

 

Did they just swap cards? I'm to far away to see what's going on. I cant tell whose giving what to who. Cant hear them either. Ergh, forget it. Forza stood up and went to leave. I need some fresh air. Being near so many poeple is kinda freaking me out. He stopped at the door and glanced over his shoulder. Any way, even if he does get promoted. I wont effect me. Stay a sly or be a ra, you'll still be the same duelist. Forza watched as pink haired girl tried to gain the boy with the scars attention. A friend? Bah, who cares. I think I'll just head back to the dorm and relax. There's a tree branch near the Slither Dorm entrance with my name on it.

Joe Bob turned and stared at Forza.

'Because I won.' He said, somehow correctly guessing his thoughts. 'I won and he lost and so I am here. And because I am here we will eat cake.' He turned and walked away.

 

 

Tim sighed, sitting outside the Arena. 'I was so close!' He said to himself. 'I had almost won.'

And as Tim sat there feeling sorry for himself, Dante walked out, a scheming look in his eye. He knelt down by Tim.

'Look,' He said in a low voice, talking quickly. 'Nikki was using Andrew's deck. Challenge her to a rematch, when he's not nearby. That duel was rigged.' He stood up and walked off, leaving Tim wondering, What the heck was that all about?

"We'll go with 8000." Zack said.

Zack and Phil went onto the arena and began to duel.

"Alright I'll go first." Zack said as he drew 5 cards from the top of his deck.

Huh. . . Monster Lock, Sangan, Skill Drain, Level Limit - Area B, and Upstart Goblin.

"Alright I summon Monster Lock! So now as long as this card remains face up on the field you cannot normal summon any monsters. Now I set one spell or trap face down. And to end my turn I play Level Limit - Area B! And that end my turn.

Phil grinned, as the huge overhead screen showed 8000/8000.

'I'll activate the field card, 'The Ocean Lord's Guards' Barracks'. Now I don't need to normal summon, because I can special summon three 'Spray Guards' from my deck in attack mode!' ATK=100 flashed on the screen. Now I'll set two of my own cards and end my turn.'

This is pathetic. He thought as his eyes swept over the place. Barely worth visiting. Damian stepped off the boat and onto Duel Academy Island, still looking the place over. He grunted. Nope. There definitely won't be a God here. He thought. But looks can be decieving.

Zack grunted as he drew a card to start his turn. Yes! Special Lock! Perfect draw. "I summon Special Lock! Now I solved that Special Summon problem."

Huh i have Upstart and Mystical. What should i do? Ooo I know I'll play mystical and destroy his field spell.

"Alright I play Mystical Space Typhoon. Say bye bye to your field Spell. Now Monster Lock! attack his Spray Guard! Now Special Lock attacks your LP's(Zack's LP: 8000|Phil's LP: 6100). Now that ends my turn."

Phil grinned. 'You know your Level Limit card is keeping both your monsters stuck in defense position? My monsters are fine. But, I think I'll activate my facedown Riptide card. This powers up all three of my monsters by 1000 attack points.'

'But since they're only level ones, they're completely able to wipe out both of your monsters, with a leftover one to hit you in the life points. End turn.' 6900/8000

So that leaves me with just my worthless little water trooper, and a spray. I guess I do have that Oceanic Ritual, but I'd rather not pay until I have to. Though if he locks out special summons again... Phil thought about the cards in his hand. Maybe I should have used that...

What the heck was that all about She thought still thinking about what that a was telling her. She was so wrapped up in her thoughts that she hadn't even noticed another duee being started, featuring Zack. She blinked when she was nudged by Jazz, who sat next to her, and pointed to the arena's floor.

 

"Who's that he's dueling Jazz?"

 

"How can you not know Trin? That's Phil, a Ra yellow."

 

Trinty rolled her eyes, I only asked for his name. I'm not color blind." Trinity said turning back to the duel. "When did Zack have time to schedual a promotion duel? I'll be really pissed if he gets a head of me." She sighed, but still watching the duel with excitement. She did love to see his Lockdown Deck in action. It was a very unique deck, however, she never had a chance to duel him herself.

 

Violet then noticed one of the Slifers about to leave the arena. She didn't know him exactly, but she had seen him around. His name is...Frozen?....No..um..Fronno...That's a stupid name...Bob!! She hit herself in the head for that one, which got weird looks from the Slifers around her. Dang it...What was his name... She hadn't even realize she had been staring at him until Jazz nudged her, bring her attention back to the duel.

Forza layed on his favourite branch of his favourite tree outside the Slither dorm, thinking about what a weird year this was gonna be. The headmaster usually doesn't do that weird mind read trick to me. He usually just pretends he's got a knife and points it at me while saying "Why so serious?" before jumping out a nearby window. And I think that girl was staring at me. Maybe she wants a duel or was it just my movement that drew her attention? From what I've seen she's an energetic girl. She'll go far in this academy. Hmm, maybe this year will be different.

 

Forza rolled over to look out at the dock. A boat's come in? I thought all the freshman had already arrived? Weird . . . Oh well, I'll just wait here and greet any new slither freshman that arrive. But then again I will be asleep . . . but I'm right above the door so they cant miss me . . . unless they don't look up . . . mm, to much thinking. Not enough sleeping. Zzzz . . .

jeez this is a really good player. I'll need to try something else. Zack drew 1 card to start his turn and looked at his hand to see what he could do. So I have Upstart, Sangan, and Attack Lock. I think I'll use upstart and see what I can get.

"Alright I play the spell card Upstart Goblin! So I get a card and you get 1000 LP's."

Alright! Twister!

"I play Twister! Now I lose 500 LP's and I destroy the far left Spell or Trap! Now I summon Attack Lock! This card makes sure that you don't declare any attacks. Now with his effect he has 500 ATK. So he attacks one of your Spray guards(Zack's LP: 5600|Phil's LP: 8600)! And now I end my turn!"

Phil shook his head. 'When Spray guard is attacked, he automatically swaps into defense position, to save my life points. Plus, his defense points are equal to your attack, meaning that he survives. Now, I activate Oceanic Ritual! By paying the thousand life points you gave me, I can summon The Mighty Kraken - Ocean Lord!'

Damian walked over to the Arena, where he heard the telltale sounds of a duel. He walked in quietly, and strolled over to the Ra Yellow section of the stands. In hindsight, he thought to himself, I should have gone to Obelisk. My black coat doesn't fit in with yellow. But he shook his head and watched the duel. He closed his eyes, and let his mind's eye wander, as he had been taught to do. He suddenly opened his eyes, and stared at Zack. Yes. Definitely him. Damian grinned. Not five minutes into the day and he had already found one person with a Wicked God. I can sense the aura. He's came into contact with a wicked god, and recently, meaning he'll have it in his deck. Damian stood up, and began working his way back down to the bottom of the stands.

Jeez this isn't how I thought this would go. Zack drew a card from his deck. huh

ground clock. That'll be handy.

"Alright I play Ground Clock! So each turn this card gets 2 Clock Counters. Now I summon Sangan! Now Sangan and Attack Lock attack the last two spray guards! Now I end my turn."

I really hope I get Magical Deck Destruction next turn. Then this duel will be in the bag. Zack looked around to see thousands of duelists amazed at how this duel is turning out. He one of them seemed curious about him. Huh maybe that guy wants to talk to me or something.

Violet stood up at Zack's play. "Way to go, Zack!" She yelled waving her arms wide. She continued standing not feeling like sitting down. That Phil guy had played a good move, but Zack was going to come back. Violet's head tilted to the side as she tried to figure out what kind of strategy Phil was trying to come up with. So far she was coming up with nothing. It would probably help if I knew what kind of deck he has. I just need to watch for a bit longer. That is if Zack doesn't wipe the floor with this Ra. Slifer or not, Zack is an awesome duelest, especially with his deck...

Phil raised his eyebrow. It was a good move. But not good enough to handle this... 'I activate Kraken's ability, to summon another Water trooper. Now, I'll flip up my facedown Frothing Whitecaps card, letting me summon one Froth Trooper for every Water trooper. Now I'll tribute all four of my troopers to summon Devastator - Ocean Forme!'

DEF 2950 Flashed on the screen. Several people gaped. That was one strong monster. But Phil wasn't done yet.

'Now, I'll use Harpie's Feather Duster to wipe out your Level Limit. Your go, Zack.'

 

Tim saw a girl standing outside the Arena Building, looking unsure of herself.

'Hey.' He said, walking up to Crystal. 'I'm Tim.' He held out his hand.

 

Andrew led Nikki out of the Arena Building, before turning to her.

'Look, if anybody figures out that I let you use my deck to beat that Tim kid, we're both dead.'

Nikki nodded silently, before turning and following him back to the Arena.

Crystal saw a strange boy from Red Dorm come towards her. "Hey, I'm Tim." She noticed he looked about fourteenish and strangely enough, had a baseball hat turned to the right slightly.

"I'm Crystal." She shook his hand. Crystal had no idea what to say; she's typically a shy person. She thought about turning and walking away when she heard cheers from a nearby duel. Then something in her mind clicked. "Do you want to duel?"

Tim looked at the Arena Building.

'Sure. We're having Promotional Duels today, so if I win, I get to advance to Ra. I already lost once, against some girl Nikki, but apparently this guy said she was cheating, so yeah. Now I don't know which dorm I should be in.' He shut up suddenly, realizing that, again, he was probably talking too much. 'But yeah, sure. What deck type do you use?'

 

Dante looked through the deck of cards again. Yep. Definitely. Nikki's definitely been using somebody else's deck. There's barely a single card in here that she used in the duel, and definitely no 'Gishilnodon' Dante shrugged, and stood up in his Obelisk Blue dorm room, before placing Nikki's deck on the windowsill. When he turned around, Nikki was standing in the doorframe of the otherwise empty room. She had an eyebrow raised, and a look of mild interest on her otherwise expressionless face.

'Give me my deck back.' She said quietly, taking a step forwards.

Dante was not impressed. 'You've been cheating to get through that Slifer's Promotional Duel.' He said accusingly.

Nikki looked around the room. 'How about this; I duel you, with my deck, and then if I win my secret is safe.'

'Fine.' Dante said, before taking her deck off the windowsill. 'But when you lose, you have to tell your dorm advisor. Both that you cheated during his duel, and that you tresspassed onto my dorm room.' He tossed Nikki's deck to her, where she deftly caught it.

'Let's duel.' They said in unison.

Zack drew a card from his deck in shock as that move had definitely toped his move.

"Alright now I play Lightning Vortex! now I discard a card from my hand and you lose all your monsters. Now I attack with attack lock and sangan(Zack's LP: 5600|Phil's LP: 6600)!" Hehehe. That will leave in shock. Zack had looked around to see if that guy who was starring at him. He was still there.

"Oh anyway I end my turn."
