-Griffin
Fabled KanstinisLIGHT/Fiend/RitualLevel 1/2000 ATK/200 DEFThis card can only be Ritual Summoned with the Ritual Spell Card, "Fabled Call". This card cannot be Special Summon from the Graveyard. Once per turn, draw 1 card. When this card is in the Graveyard, you can discard 1 "Fabled" monster to return 1 "Fabled Call" and this card to your Deck and draw 1 card. Fabled CallRitual SpellThis card is used to Ritual Summon "Fabled Kanstinis". You must also discard monsters whose total Levels equal to 1 or more from your hand. You can discard this card and 1 "Fabled" monster to add 1 "Fabled" Card from your Deck to your hand. Note that the Ritual Spell's opening text is a little different - tributes are not an option, only discards. The card is level 1 so that any Fabled can be discarded. This was to avoid losing any major advantage and allow it to be more consistent by not needing more than The Fabled Catsith or something. Since it cannot be Special Summoned without the Ritual Spell (or some truly messed up RFG abuse), I see no way to abuse the 2000 ATK on a Level 1 - so that shouldn't be a problem. Fableds are reasonable consistent thanks to Grimro and, to a lesser extent, Ragin and Valkyrus, but they can still sometimes get dead hands, which truly ruin the Deck. Normally, a Ritual decreases consistency to get a 'power' card of some sort, which the Deck is largely based around. I decided to go against this and make the Ritual Spell, usually a dead draw, allow more consistency. I was hesitant about giving it the current -1 effect, but otherwise it would probably have ended up OP'd since discarding a Fabled is often a +0 anyway and the consistency is majorly helpful to the Deck. The 'No Special Summon from the Graveyard' clause seemed VERY important. Otherwise, Krus could repeatedly revive it due to its semi-nomi nature, which would turn Krus's nice +1 into an entirely abusive +2, which would really begin to stack up with Beckoning Lights and soon warrant a ban. The once-per-turn draw is helpful for the archtype. All of their effects which trigger during a discard to nothing to replenish hand advantage, that only usually comes from Ragin. That can leave them having to practically OTK or wait for ages to make any good plays since they lose options as soon as they push for something. This means that the -2 Ritual Summon (often -1 in Fableds) comes with a +1 on the first turn to balance it out, and continues that if the player can protect it (probably though Honest). The last effect, to return things, is possibly the main effect of the card. Because there's a valid alternate use for the Ritual, it might often be easier to just discard both the Ritual and it's Spell, giving a powerful +0 for big plays and setup. Won a Ritual Contest with that, any comments or improvements? Link to comment
Bringerofcake
There's no real need for improvement. The only thing I might have qualms with is the 2000 ATK, but I don't see any reasonable reason (lol) to reduce it by any. Well made. Link to comment
Umbra
Isn't there that one Equip Spell that allows Level 1 monsters to attack directly? Other than that, I can see that this card fills a very much needed spot in DRG-decks, but outside of it's intended theme? A free draw every turn? I would at least change Fabled Call so that you had to discard a Fabled for the cost, to limit the splashability. Other than that, I find the card good and easily worth the win in a contest. (Not saying I've seen the other entries, but still.) Link to comment
DFireZX
One for One wins? or you can't do that. Link to comment
-Griffin
Can't do that, Semi-Nomi. Link to comment
Nephets
A bit OP if you ask me, not only is it super easy to get out with its cost, but it lets you draw a card every turn! That doubles your rate of drawing the right card! This would become staple in every deck, and would be even better in fabled decks, it would probably get banned instantly. Link to comment
-Griffin
Nice necro. I think this is the first card I ever entered into a contest. Mods: Don't lock this, I'd like to see if it gets any comments before falling off the page anyway. Link to comment
Horu
I guess the card would be a bit abusive if yourr opponent runs Appropiate? Run a burn deck that revolves around the Fabled cards? Link to comment
Bahamut - Envoy of the End
Isn't there that one Equip Spell that allows Level 1 monsters to attack directly? Opti-Camo Armour. As for the card, high draw power is exceedingly high. Given it gives any deck 2 draws a turn, although obviously getting Rituals out can be a faf in non-Ritual decks. But I do like the way the Ritual Spell has been done. As a concept its good and original, but probably overpowered. :( Link to comment
Darj
I know you already explained it, but I would lower the ATK because a Level 1 monster with 2000 ATK makes no sense, and I don't think such high ATK is actually needed since most of the Time you will Summon this monster for its effects, not for attacking. Bringerofcake
Still no complaints. Link to comment
