"damn. oh well at least blast magicians spell counters transfer over to my citadel putting it at 8 speel counters." zolo said as he watched his monsters disipare. damn little duel drone realy getting annoying.

"my move draw!"he said smiling at the card. "first im gonna move one of my power stones counters to my citadel putting it at 9 then im gonna play this Drak magic curtian now by giving up half my life points i can summon on dark magician from my hand deck or grave." he said as the dark magician appared on his feild. "also sience a speel card was activated my citadel gains another spell counter putting it at 10. i end my turn." zolo said with a smile.

Jason looked around at Zephyrus. It sure wasn't what it was a while ago. He sighed, and noticed that it was night. He supposed that a Duel Drone would come after him, and he was kind of glad. He had wanted to duel for a while, and hadn't been able to. He walked down a dark street, keeping his eyes peeled. Rustling his thin arms, he shivered. It was colder than he thought it was. Or...Jason spun around, and found himself face-to-face with a Duel Drone. "Hey, Drone. I wanna duel, ya hear?" Probably not the best way to speak to a Duel Drone, but he didn't care.

 

"Duel proposal analyzed. Threat level: low. Commencing duel." Jason shook his head. Threat low? Yeah right. I'll show you. He tapped some buttons on the duel disk on his wrist, and activated it. He saw that the Duel Drone recognized it, and a duel disk appeared on its wrist.

 

"Alright, let's do this."

"Activating Royal Oppression in response to Special Summoning." The Duel Drone responded. "Paying 800 Life Points to negate Special Summoning of Dark Magician." More soldiers came in and stopped the curtain from opening.

 

"I draw, and I play Thermal Booster, sending Dragunity Naginata and Shield Wing to the Graveyard to Special Summon Dragunity Legionnaire!" Latea declared.

A pteradactyl-like monster glided next to Latea. (900 DEF)

Debris Dragon became 4 rings while Legionnaire turned into 3 stars.

Aki got up off the bed and went for the bathroom. "I'll get changed. You just watch the footage of Latea for a bit."

"damn you stupid robot your realy starting to bug me you know that!" zolo yelled in agravation. the drone wasnt hard to duel and zolo knew he could take the thing out in his next turn or two but it was the stupidity of the thing that got to him. "i end my turn you cyber dork but come next turn and your done for thats a promise." zolo smiled as he said this. he couldnt wait either for his deck of spellcasters always had another trick waiting with each draw. next turn i turn this thing into scrap metal and then im gonna leave this place and find the dragon duelist. i need a chalange and i think she can give me one.

Jason looked warily at the drone. "So...who starts?" he asked. He was answered with a small coin launching out of the drone's chest, heading into the air. "Ooohh, I see. Not one to talk, are ya?" he said. Watching the coin come down, he wondered who would start. "I'll call, since you flipped. Tails!" he cried out. The coin landed, bounced, bounced again, and began to spin. Jason crossed his fingers hoping that he would go first. His duels were all crappy if he wasn't first. He watched excitedly as the coin landed on...Heads! Goddamnit!! he cried inside his head.

But right after Zolo drew his next card, the Duel Drone flipped up his face-downs.

"Activating Imperial Order and Fairy Box. You cannot activate Spell Cards, and every time you attack, there is a 50% chance of the mnster's ATK going to zero. Total lockdown complete."

zolo was as angey as it got at the moment and he was about to trash this drone. a lock down deck been awhile seince i dueled one of these. lets see if it can handle my deck though.

zolo looked at the card he had drawn it wasnt his best draw but it would do.

"Now i play Breaker the magical warrior. now get this when breaker is summoned he gains one spell counter giving him 30 more attack points. but thats not the end hi also can get rid of a spell counter to destroy a spell or trap on the feild and i choose your imperial order!" zolo said. he had a feeling that his move might not work but at this point he was at a stand still untill he got that card.

thank fully the drone was to stuned to make a move.

"fine ill contuine then. first ill move my last spell counter from my power stone to my breaker allowing me to get ride of your fairy box." as zolo said this the drones fairy box disipared. "then i ditch 3 more counters from my citadol to destroy your other spell can traps! and then breaker will atk one of your trains." zolo did this and ended hsi turn smiling.

Rayos caught her wrist before she got off the bed and wrapped her arms around her again "You still can't tell when I'm joking after 300 years?" He asked, pulling her back onto the bed and kissing her neck. "Or are you just trying to make me feel bad for joking around with you?" He kissed her one more time before wincing visibly and audibly. He swore profusely under his breath, which should have tipped Aki off that something was wrong right there, and massaged his temples with his fingertips "Oldest excuse in the book is coming back to bite me in the ass..."

Miles away, the supervisors of this particular Duel Drone, which happened to be using a prototype Dueling AI that was much smarter than the average human, were stunned at the prowess of this duelist. But they weren't done yet.

"Commencing turn. Entering Draw Phase. Drawing card. Entering Standby Phase. Entring Main Phase 1. Activating Double Summon. Normal Summoning Dark Mimic LV1 in Attack Mode."

A creepy-looking chest opened up to reveal a maw full of razor-sharp teeth. (100 ATK)

"Tributing 2 Bokoichis and Dark Mimic LV1 to Normal Summon Beast King Barbaros."

A large feline centaur appeared on the field. (3000 ATK)

"Activating effect of Beast King Barbaros. Destroying all cards on the opponent's side of the field."

Beast King Barbaros roared, and all of Zolo's cards were obliterated.

"Switching Dekoichi the Battlechanted Locomotive to Attack Mode. Direct attack with Dekoichi and Barbaros. Victory acheived."

 

Aki grabbed Rayos' head, and closed her eyes. "It's him again, isn't it?" She asked, solemnly.

zolo fell to the ground as his spinner stoped in place when the duel ended. as it did one card sliped out of the spinner.

zolo looked at it and smiled. "the forbeden spell of endyom. in my next turn i would have won." he said quitly. he looked at the duel drone and wondered what would happen now. he did have a linsce but he had interfered with the drone attacking the kid. he had no clue what was in store for him but he wasnt planning on getting caught. he taped a botton on his spinner and smoke surroned him letting him get a head start. he had to get out of here and find the dragon duelist.

"Yeah, I don't know what the Hell to do... Sure, going into my psyche and kicking his face in worked ten years ago, but I don't think that'll do the job now. This time, he might just be str--" He didn't finish his sentence before gritting his teeth in pain "This is my mind..." He said through gritted teeth "This is my body..." He focused on rebuilding his mental blocks "Get... out... of... my... way..." He slowly started sitting up until the sharp stabbing pain that made him miss that time he got impaled by a poorly aimed Chain Arrow Trap Card regressed to a stabbing migraine "Headache pills... Bathroom... Third shelf... Fourth bottle on the right."

Aki nodded, and fetched the bottle. "How many pills?" She asked.

 

The controllers of the prototype Duel Drone were pretty upset that their subject managed to escape, but someone else in the room was happy.

"Good work, gentlemen." Janus purred as he watched the replay of the duel.

"Thank you, sir." The lead scientist bowed.

"When can we install this program into all of our next-generation Duel Drones?"

"About 8-10 standard months, sir, once we figure out the bugs."

"Excellent."

Zolo ran as fast as he could not wanting the drone to catch him. As he did it occored to him that he would need a way to get off Nassira. man what do i do now im traped here enless i can find a ride off this dumb planet. Suddly a thought occured to him and a smile moved up his face. He was gonna get of this planet and he was gonna get the help from a old friend.

Rayos said flipping the top of the bottle off with his metal forefinger and shaking between five and seven pills into his mouth and swallowing them dry "I really, really, REALLY hate that guy..." He told his wife, sweat beading on his brow, shaking visibly "I wonder if this is what happened to everyone else that got copied... Or is he related to my immortality..." He shook his head "No... That's not possible... He can't be the reason I'm still alive."

Waves of energy projected towards Latea, preventing her from Synchro Summoning.

"Now your pathetic attempt at using the very card that defeated me, that accursed Accel Synchro Monster, Dragunity Arms Knight - X Karibull, has utterly failed, along with any backup plans involving your Dragunity Knights! I still get nightmares in my regeneration alcove off my active period no thanks to you and your Accel Synchro Summoning! Now you're robbed of your most powerful cards! MWA HA HA HA!!!"

Aki broke open the seals on the medicine bottle and opened Rayos' mouth, then dropped them in a few at a time. "You know..." she added, "...it says here that 1 every hour will do the trick, otherwise you'll get some nasty side effects. In fact, according to my calculations, you should be dead by now. Very, very dead." She continued to put pills down his system until the bottle was empty. "Hope you don't OD while I get changed!" Aki quickly rushed into the bathroom and locked the door.

 

"Grr..." Latea growled in despair. "I set a card and end my turn."

"Aki, I am three hundred and thirty two years old. Every thing about me says that I should be very, very dead by now. You're not delivering any new information." Rayos said, getting dressed himself in his incredibly beat up and aged clothes, including the faded black leather jacket given to him by his mentor during the Paradox crisis "Rest in peace, Shinigami." Rayos whispered, slipping the harmonica around his neck. He looked at his pair of gloves and debated on whether or not to put them on. Certainly, having a mechanical arm didn't attract near as much attention now as it did three hundred years ago, but there were always people that stared whenever he went gloveless, and, due to his reputation as being the duelist that defeated the death god, he always got unwanted challenges when he was recognized. Figuring that the arm would only speed up the inevitable and unenjoyable process of defeating one of his admirers, he slipped the gloves on just as Aki was walking out of the bathroom.

A few minutes later, Aki emerged from the bathroom. Part of her hair was styled in a fashion similar to Yusei Fudo's, but only the top two fins pointed up. The middle fins pointed outwards, while the lower fins pointed downwards, giving her a slightly draconic look, which was enhanced by the long braid of white and red hair that went down to her ankles before splitting in two, then ending. She also had six small bangs, three on each side of her face over her ears, that had white tips. Finally, she had two large bangs in between her eyes that crossed like Natsuru Senou's from Kampfer, with one bang white and the other red. Her blue eye and golden eye were covered by two slightly Harry Potter-style glasses, and she had on a white and red-striped button-down shirt, a purple with pink polka-dot tie, a gray tweed overcoat, and a navy-blue shin-length dress with red high heels. Overall, she looked professional and bookish at the same time, yet still had an air of beauty to her.

"So, how do you like seeing me in my school outfit for the first time?" Aki asked, spinning around to show Rayos her professor/librarian outfit that resembled something from the mid-20th century.

Rayos said, taking the glove off of his flesh hand and running it through Aki's hair, "Or just say I caught a bad case of Elysium flu and call off the meeting altogether?" He wrapped his hand around Aki's waist and smiled boyishly, the act momentarily erasing the unseen but not unnoticed effect that his longevity had on his personality and making his overall demeanor match his youthful appearance, occasional gray hairs notwithstanding.

 

Meanwhile, various electronic devices throughout First were malfunctioning, first a view screen, then a traffic camera, then a scrolling sign, a car radio, and so forth, seemingly at random, and never two at the same time and never the same one twice. If anyone happened to be observing these events, they would notice a delay of exactly four seconds between each malfunction.

Sybil, the ambassador from the Freehold of Elysium to the United Republic of First and a former student of mine, Class of '13 I believe, managed to squeeze us in for this luncheon, and we have the enitre week off until you're supposed to be back for the final ratification of the Duel License Act, which we need gone."

"Remember the reason we're here? The trial period of the Duel License Act ends in 8 standard days, at which point the governments of the Alpha Centauri System will have their voting members vote on making the Act permenant, with the actual governemt having the final say-so. The Citizen Council, Elysium's highest point in government and the group we belong to, are the only ones on the planet who actually vote, period, another thing we did when we drew up the Elysian Charter. Elysium will never allow this Act to go through, and we have threatened withdrawing from the League if that happens."

"So, to make a long story short, all of the other Citizens are going around the Alpha Centauri System, lobbying against this bill, which is exactly what we plan to do during lunch. Remember now?"

Aki jokingly tapped on Rayos' head for emphasis.

"Geez! These headaches you're having must be pretty bad if they are affecting your short-term memory!"

"It's just cruel and inhumane." Rayos told Aki, "After three hundred years of being with you, I still want more than time allows." He shook his head but didn't take his hand off of Aki's hip "I blame you for that, by the way. If you weren't so irresistible and perfect in every single way, I would have a much easier and less complicated life, and wouldn't be actively restraining myself." He shook his head and wrapped his other arm around her waist, "Or maybe this is just part of your plan to keep me interested for the rest of eternity."

Aki coyly smiled. "Maybe a little bit of both..." She sat down on the bed next to her husband of 284 years. "I mean, I have had over 300 years to figure out any imperfections in my programming and correct them, as well as learn enough from other humans to be able to function perfectly. We did design a brand-new type of government together that has been functioning perfectly for decades, in case you forgot."

She then turned to him and wrapped her arms around his shoulders, pulling him in until their foreheads were touching, and Aki was staring straight into her love's eyes, and vice-versa "On the other hand, after all that we've been through, I'm still surprised you haven't cheated on me, or that I have needed to resort to cheating on you to get your attention, even after all these years."

She whispered softly. "You aren't cheating on me, are you?"

Zolo ran for a little while longer through the duel trap infested forest of electronis. Dispite his sitatation he was in Zolo felt alive here where he was in danger every second of his life. As he ran he looked back on the duel he had lost. For the first time in almost five years he had lost and to a duel drone no less. "i have to step up my game some or I'll never be able to beat the Dragon Duelist or even challange her for that fact." he said as he stoped putting his hand on a tree while he took a second to breath. Afte that he ran agian at full speed to a clearing in the forest where a single cabin stood. "man i wish i didnt have to do this." he wispared

Rayos said, looking deep into her heterochromatic eyes "From the moment I first met you back in our world until the day I die, I have never stopped loving you. For three centuries, I've never wanted to be with anyone else. In four lifetimes, I've held you in my arms whenever I can. Aki, my love, cheating on you would be like trying to replace the midday sun with a smoldering ember." He pulled the cyborg in close and kissed her, pouring every once of love that he's felt for her over his entire life into that one act to settle her mind for good.
