Bahnes chose a closer-to-neutral look for this instance. He was almost about to say something when Lisa answered the strange woman's question. He noted the uniforms of the three, as they were strange looking, hardly casual ware. The "C" was common on all three, making them part of an organization, obviously. What they dealt with and in, Bahnes hadn't a clue. Meanwhile, Magnemite was vertical, spinning itself around in circles, and rather enjoying itself. Bahnes rather inconspicuously tapped Magnemite, who righted itself lazily.

Robert felt tired - not physically, but mentally as he felt his will slipping away from him. The curious scent that drifted through the air became stronger; he had to find out what it was, no matter what...

Duskull began to drift mindlessly through the woods, also attracted by the smell. "Duskull... where are you... going..." Robert said drowsily as he held out his hand. "Wait... get back here..." He drowsed after Duskill, half-heartedly, all the supplies that were dropped earlier, forgotten.

Daisuke stumbled through the woods as he felt his cognitive functions leaving him. He could barely hold Munchlax as the feeling grew stronger, and finally he just dropped him. Munchlax yawned as he got up and started through the woods, though due to his lax nature he looked normal as he traveled. Daisuke looked around the woods, and the scenery began to blur together as his will dissipated.

Maro tentatively inched towards the serpentine Pokemon as Nyoko brushed the stray sticks and dust from her dress and hat. As she did, Nyoko discretely inspected the other trainer. Her attire was very expensive as she actually owned the outfit herself, although she would only wear such drab colours on a formal occasion. This was not of concern for her though. She was in a forest full of hostile creatures and she was not able to defend herself that well. To make matters worse, Maro had dropped her Repels throughout the forest chase.

"I'm Nyoko and this guy is Maro," Nyoko introduced herself with a little bow, "We were just headed to Azure City before the bridge disappeared. I'm pretty sure it was just one of those fancy folding bridges, but we weren't let across. I'm not that good at going through forests and I don't know where we are. Do ya know where we are?"

Nathaniel rubbed his eyelids lazily as the strange force washed over him; all of his previous concerns about his Gible had completely faded away. Well, not completely - he was now lazily following the small pokémon even deeper into the woods, albeit at a snail's pace. He now felt drowsy, but not as if he wanted to sleep; it was as if his mind had simply shut down, all apart from the single niggling thought which was telling him to follow Gible as the force influencing him grew steadily more powerful.

pokeballfinaluse2-1.pngGM Post: Ivy Woodsp><p>Nathaniel, Robert, and Daisuke came to a sudden halt as they burst through the undergrowth into a cool and spacious clearing, where the shadowy emerald of the trees mingled pleasantly with the golden sunshine. The area itself was stunning, composed of a gently sloping green curve of land that gave way to shimmering, crystalline water, dotted here and there with small islands, as if some giant had long ago placed them to serve as stepping stones. Although the group felt elated by the undeniable beauty of the place, they also realized that it was a very solemn place—Gible, however, had no such reservations. With a pleased cry, the tiny Dragon Pokémon walked over to the water

Before Nathaniel could call his Pokémon back to him, he froze suddenly at a sudden shift in the air, as if a pleasant wind were blowing. Looking up, the three boys' eyes widened in disbelief at the sight of a beautiful creature unlike any they had ever seen making its way towards them at a stately pace, its golden antlers shining in the sunlight and its cloven feet walking across the surface of the water as if it were solid. The creature bore a striking resemblance to some sort of deer, with rich light brown fur and flecks of white, but its golden eyes seemed to shine with a striking intelligence.

Gible moved aside respectfully as the marvelous creature stepped onto land, its cloven hooves not making the slightest noise. It tossed its magnificent head, antlers flashing gold, and then came to a halt in front of the three companions, it eyes shifting slowly from each of them, as if it were regarding them thoughtfully.

Wild Pokémon Encounter: Okay Shradow, Zerato_AST, and Tempest Dahlia: your characters have encountered Stendilr, the mystical guardian of the Ivy Woods who protects the other Pokémon and is the source of the mysterious and timeless power that characterizes the forest. As I'm sure you can tell, this Pokémon is unlike any others your characters may have encountered—it possesses remarkable pyschic powers and is almost considered a deity by those who have heard rumor of its existence. Needless to say, this particular creature is not able to be caught through conventional methods and angering it would be a very bad idea.

"Just Pokémon Trainers?" the girl repeated after Lisa, her delicate tone somewhat at odds with the sharp and almost calculating gaze that shifted between the four companions quickly. "And I'm not exactly sure I understand you—what do you mean, what's going on here?" she continued in reply to Lisa's question, tilting her head slightly to one side in a fetching manner.

"We're just part of a Pokémon Research Team that is conducting a very important, ah, experiment in the Ivy Woods," she said, elaborating further upon her previous remark while her two male companions nodded silently. "It's crucial that you don't interfere, seeing as your presence here could influence the results in a negative manner. I'm sure four travelers such as yourselves can understand the importance of making sure that the results are kept as pristine, accurate, and free from external influence as possible."

Dropping her official-sounding tone for her usual breathiness, the girl giggled once more and brought one slender hand up to her rosebud-shaped mouth. "So I really think you're going to have to turn around and go back to wherever you came from," she said, "since the Ivy Woods are currently off-limits to travelers."

Jason looked at the three weird dressing people while he thought to himself about who they might be.

Maybe they're part of Team Galactic? Nah, they disbanded long time ago... I wonder what that C is for? Chaos? Cosmos? Charity? Cookies... COOKIES!

He shook his head to shrug the thought out of his head. They were probably just harmless researchers.

"Did you perform an experiment in the Ochre Woods too?"

At the moment Jason asked the question he suddenly realized that he'd said too much, and in an atempt to fix his mistake (altough he only made it worse) he said:

"Or nevermind! Sorry to disturb your research!"

"Hm? Oh... Well... I know we're in the ivy woods." Eri said with a hint of a blush at being caught unprepared. Aside from the general idea of where they were, she really had no idea where she was at the moment. Her only point of solstice was that this girl didn't seem to know where they were going either, though considering her apparent reaction to the destroyed bridge, that wasn't saying much.

She glanced around, and noticed a slight detail- the moss on a nearby tree was growing only on one side. She'd heard one of her instructors say something about moss, once. Maybe it was that she was supposed to follow it?

"I think we're supposed to be going that way-" she said, pointing toward the direction the moss already indicated. Lancelot blinked, observing the pink rotund pokemon as it approached her. She cocked her head slowly, as if trying to reason to herself that the creature was, indeed, a pokemon and not a significantly deformed mushroom, though her head whipped back as she heard twigs break under Eri's thin-soled shoes as she began to follow her own directions. After a moment's hesitation, the dratini followed after.

Atop a tall branch, a small blackbird watched the two lost females. Though he wasn't particularly old, the crow-like Pokemon had seen travellers unprepared trying to trek through the Ivy Woods before, and it knew a fresh meal when it saw one. Letting out a forboding caw that was the signature of its race, the Murkrow lept off the thin branch it had perched on, keeping time with the girl who had started to pace. It didn't need to hunt for its food, like one would expect a regular pokemon to. Murkrow were intelligent to realize what others didn't; the observant only need to wait, and everything they needed would fall into their lap.

"Well I'm with ya sister. I don't know much about Orlana and I don't have a map...Oh wait...I do have a map!" Nyoko said, realizing that she had a super advanced device at her fingertips. She pulled out a sleek black case that looked like a travel mirror and opened it. It revealed a screen and a small keyboard, making intelligent beeps as an antennae popped out from the top.

"Ok then, let's see what daddy's little gizmo can do...Phone...Music...Camera...Ah! GPS...!" Nyoko muttered to herself as she pressed the buttons with supreme concentration, "Let's see...Ah dang it...No connection...Well, it was a good idea at first."

Nyoko raised her head to realize that Maro and the girl and her Dratini had walked deeper without her.

"Ahh! Wait up!" Nyoko shouted as she gave chase as fast as she could, which was very slow.

In the meanwhile, Maro was still carefully eyeing the strange snake creature while keeping close watch for anything in the forest. Maro learned to be vigilant at night in the time when he lived in the city. The forest was like the city, but more things in the forest want to eat you than in the city. Considering his marshmallow-like appearance, Maro knew that he was a prime target for every Pokemon in the forest. Maro was so on edge that when the Murkrow cawed, Maro's hair stood on edge.

Daisuke regained his composure at the sight of the Pokémon, intrigued by its sudden appearance. He quickly reached for his bag and got out his laptop and started typing, searching through his database for any data on the new Pokémon. He scrolled through most of his notes before coming on what little he had on it. Stendilr, huh? I don't know much about that one. The only information I've managed to find on it is what I've heard from rumors. Daisuke could feel that strange sensation acting on him, so he knew he had to act fast before he lost his wits yet again. He steadily moved towards the Stendilr, keeping low to the ground so as not to look like a threat. "It's okay, big guy. We're not here to hurt you. We're just... passing through..."

Lisa really didn't want to tell these researchers about what happened in Ochre Woods. No one even knew what exactly occured back there that caused Excavade to rampage like that. Lisa just sighed and shook her head; hopefully these people won't ask too much about it, and just let them leave.

On the other hand, Lisa was curious about what kind of research was going on. Whatever the reason may be, it must be dangerous, since these guys were standing guard, Lisa thought to herself. Lisa's body relaxed as she stood up straight, since there was really no reason to be hiding any longer, and just waited to see what the girl was going to say.

Nathaniel's eyes widened at the sight of the large deer-like pokémon, but it's influence over him was still powerful enough that they remained glazed over, in a daze. Gible, who seemed content following his drink from the water, waddled past the much larger creature, and sat on his master's foot. The sudden contact from his pokémon caused Nathaniel to snap out of his trance, but only fleetingly. "Wha?" He breathed, looking down. "Gible...! Come here!" Lifting his companion, Nathaniel returned his now more focused gaze to the creature, which Daisuke was now steadily approaching. Furrowing his brow, Nathaniel decided that Daisuke must have known what he was doing - so he let him get on with it.

Bahnes blinked as he realized something. The ruts in the ground, the clumsy movement through the bushes, the obvious air of secrecy here... These people were up to something. And he had a feeling that it was less than legal. Still, there wasn't much else to say, when Jason but in and put their new friend on the limelight. The "C"ers (as Bahnes decided to start calling them) should have a problem now. As Jason said, the four were also "researchers", and thus could use that to their advantage. Now, to wait, and see the odd woman's next move.

Stendilr angled its magnificent head in an intelligent manner similar to a respectful inclination, as if it could understand Daisuke's words perfectly and approved of them. Instantly, the three companions felt the mysterious, calming influence from before lessen considerably until it was little more than a soothing trickle of power, as refreshing and relaxing to the soul as a breath of fresh air—there was no doubt in any of the boys' minds as to what the source of the power had been.

I had gathered that much myself, a voice said, its rich and deep tones resounding from all around the companions. Instantly, Daisuke and the others whirled around, glancing curiously about for its owner. Although they strained their eyes through the thick undergrowth and the shine of the sunlit water, they could not seem to locate the origin of the mysterious voice, as if some invisible phantasm had spoken.

Be at peace, travelers, the voice came again, its tones even richer and layered than before, betraying a hint of amusement. I have delved into your hearts seeking your purpose for coming to this sacred place, and I know that your motives are pure."

The three companions turned back to Stendilr in alarm, their expressions conveying intense shock and disbelief. "Are you—?" began Nathaniel softly, his gaze never leaving that of Stendilr's. "Was that...?"

Stendilr nodded its graceful head, golden antlers gleaming with a polished brilliance, its eyes flashing intelligently. I am the Guardian of this place and all its inhabitants, Stendilr continued, eying the three boys. Although my psychic powers are remarkable, they are only used to protect this place from the influence of the outside world and the passage of time, so you may in turn rest assured that I mean you no harm.

The deer-like Pokémon arched its glossy neck back into the warmth of the sunlight before returning its wise and ancient gaze to the three companions. I see that you have many questions burning on your lips for ones so young, its voice came again, extensively magnified by Stendilr's telepathic powers. Ask, and I will answer if I can.

"An experiment in the Ochre Woods?" the girl repeated after Jason with an appealing frown and an exagerrated reproachful glance that was at odds with her usual giggling attitude. "And what makes you say that? We're just a group of dedicated and hard-working Pokémon Researchers conducting a study in the Ivy Woods—in fact, you should be ashamed of yourself for making such nasty suggestions to the contrary!"

"Milia," one of the girl's companions broke in in a harsh and impatient voice—the taller and paler of the two young men, his brown eyes flashing passionately and his severely-cut blond hair shining dimly in the sparce sunlight. "This has gone on long enough. I'm pretty sure that these idiots understood you the first time, so there's no need to waste time arguing with them."

The golden-haired man strode forward with an arrogant and supremely confident smirk on his pale face—although he was already quite good-looking like his other two companions, the cruel and prideful expression on his face seemed to somehow bizarrely complement his features rather than ruin them. His black-gloved hand moved quickly towards his waist, where a gray-colored belt was looped; with another flashing movement, he withdrew a tiny black- and white-colored orb, its polished surface gleaming. There was a brief moment of silence—while they may have been just Rookie Pokémon Trainers, Lisa, Josh, Jason, and Bahnes all recognized a Pokéball easily enough when they saw one.

"You heard the girl," the tall young man sneered, his pale and well-muscled frame towering over the younger Trainers. "Either turn around and clear out now or prepare to be shut down with a Pokémon battle."

The girl, Milia, pouted for another moment at her subordinate's remarks before brightening quickly and returning to her usual giggling and girlish self. "Oh, Pierre," she crooned, smiling flirtatiously at the young man, "why didn't you say that what you had in mind was a Pokémon battle? That's so sweet of you—you must have known how I was dying for some excitement!"

Milia giggled and reached for her waist as well, drawing forth another of the oddly-colored black and white Pokéballs, which she expanded to its full size and proceeded to hold between slim fingers that ended in pink-colored nails.

"Come on, Maxie," she called to the third member of the mysterious group in an excited tone, her attention focused solely upon the four companions. "It's time for a Pokémon battle!"

For what seemed like two hours, Eri and Nyoko wandered through the Ochre Woods at a whimsical pace, dawdling here and there only to gain speed in random bursts. Although the two girls were silent at first, they began to communicate more easily as time progressed, although they failed to realize that they were wandering further and further off the path with each passing moment, nor that they were being followed by the sinister Murkrow, gliding in the shadow of the trees.

It was only when the girls noticed that the sun was beginning to sink that they slowed their pace, looking uncertainly about them as sunset drew closer. Although Eri strained her eyes in an attempt to pierce the undergrowth for signs of the path, she could not seem to find any indicator of which way to proceed. She pulled up short, unsure of what to do now that the light was failing, struck by the sudden realization that neither she nor Nyoko had the survival skills or equipment necessary to navigate the Ivy Woods successfully.

Ignoring the morbid concerns sneaking up on her as to whether or not she and Nyoko would manage to make it out of the forest alive, she continued forward briskly, deciding that it was as good a choice as any. Within a few moments, she and Nyoko were rewarded with the sound of a voice ahead, as well as an oddly familia rushing noise.

Pushing further through the tangled undergrowth, the two girls came upon a sudden clearing, dominated by a fairly wide stream of fast-moving water, snaking across the area and vanishing out of sight. Upon closer examination, the girls could make out the figure of a young man by the stream, splashing water against his face while an orange-colored otter-like Pokémon waded in the shallows nearby. As Eri and Nyoko drew closer, one of the girls snapped a twig underfoot; the resulting crack was enough to make the young man whirl around at once, his Pokémon leaping to his side in readiness.

Eri and Nyoko didn't have much time to consider the young man, but both of them registered that he was slender and well-built, with dark brown hair, flashing sea-green eyes, and a pleasant alabaster complexion; overall, he seemed to be one or two years older than Nyoko, placing him in Eri's age group. He was dressed in a short-sleeved black shirt and a pair of dark blue jeans, as well as a pair of matching black boots and fingerless gloves of the same color. However, neither of the girls had much time to appraise his clothing or appearance—with a fierce shout and pointing motion, the young man ordered his Pokémon to attack.

"Buizel, use Water Gun now!" he commanded, and the otter-like creature at his side instantly released a powerful burst of compressed water from its mouth, which arched towards the girls at high speed, eliciting shrieks. However, Eri and Nyoko's concern was unnecessary—with a rushing sound, the jet of water passed over their heads towards somewhere behind and above them. There was a solid-sounding thud and an indignant cawing noise; turning around, the girls saw the Murkrow that had been stalking them from before flying away angrily, its inky plumage dripping wet from where it had been interrupted in its attempt to swoop down and grasp Eri's Dratini in its claws.

Josh blinked as he looked at the du. "Oi, they are a bunch of oddballs..." he thought as Pierre said something about a Pokemon battle. He let Fen, the Wulfyr, out as he watched ahead. Then, he cocked his head and spoke to his companions. "You guys ready to fight? I have a feeling these goons are all hot air. Besides, we need to get through, do we not? He raised an eyebrow, as he awaited their respective replies, not that he did not know what they would say. "Well? We gonna get this on the road?" He asjusted his glasses as he finished.

Lisa reflexively pulled Floatern's Pokeball from her pocket as soon as she heard 'Pokemon Battle' the first time. "Y'know, if you just wanted to battle..." Lisa said, grinning, "you could've just asked!" She wasn't quite sure what these uniformed people were doing here, but they were unexpectedly violent about keeping it secret, which really piqued her curiosity.

"Come, Floatern!" Lisa opened her Pokeball manually without launching it, causing her Pokemon to appear a few feet in front of her. Floatern glanced at the thee uniformed people, then turned his head to the side somewhat, as if he was confused. "Don't worry, we're not fighting alone this time," Lisa said, which got Floatern's attention. The bird began flying off the ground while Josh asked the group if they were ready to fight. Lisa only replied with a chuckle as she raised her rod off the ground and waited for their opponents to call their Pokemon.

Nyoko cried out as she took cover from jet of water blasting past her head. Maro instinctively jumped forward, ready to take a hit for Nyoko, but fell flat on his face when nothing hit him. Even as the stalking Murkrow flew away and the danger passed, Nyoko continued to stay in her crouched down, hands over head position, crying out. Maro picked himself up and surveyed the opposing Pokemon with suspicion, eyes narrowed. After about a minute, Nyoko realized that there was no danger and got out of her cowering position. Nyoko then spotted the man and the Pokemon who shot the jet of water. Nyoko's father had always told her to be wary of mysterious men. Then again, Nyoko never could remember the things her father told her.

"Oh hi there! You sure gave me a scare there! What were ya shooting at? Or were ya just trying to scare us off or somethin'? I sure hope not 'cause I don't like people who think scaring people is funny. They ain't funny at all."

Daisuke would normally be shocked at the sight and sound of the Stendilr, but he was so intrigued, his curiosity got the better of him. Something came over him as he approached the Pokémon. "Wow, so interesting! How does on such as you come about such amazing psychic abilities!?" Daisuke rushed around to the side of Stendilr, looking at the orbs resting below his antlers. "Does it come from these orbs? May I touch them?" Daisuke was overcome with the intellectual need to learn.

Munchlax sighed at the sight of Daisuke, for he had seen this before and it was now just an annoyance.

Eri blinked at the succession of events as they passed by her eyes. First, she managed to glimpse a young man by the river, his appearance casual and apt for his surroundings -a ruffian, in other words, to Eri's fine taste. Her relief at having found someone else that probably wasn't as likely to die cold and alone in a forest was quickly quenched when she was fired on, ducking quickly as the shot fired. He breifly noted Lancelot cowering, and wondered why- after all, dratini were rather at home in the water.

She blinked in surprise when she didn't feel the fierce impact of a water attack, though scowled with a sizable amount of droplets doused the back of her dress. She didn't recall of the top of her head if her current garb could survive dousing or not, but either way, she figured the perpetrator was going to pay somehow.

There was a mild thump, and Eri turned in time to see a small black bird flying away, feathers wet from the evident impact. Her heart briefly went out to the pokemon, as she turned snappishly upon the man.

"That poor bird!" she exclaimed. "Is that what you do for fun? Randomly use defenseless pokemon as target practice to keep yourself amused? How dare you! Also, are you aware of how much this dress costs?! If your overzealous shooting even fades the color a little, you're going to be paying it off for years young man! I understand you obviously know nothing of fashion, but a lady of my pedigree has a responsibility to stay proper, and I will not allow your borderline cases of pokemon abuse to intrude upon my..."

Lancelot sighed a little as her master continued on her little tirade. It wasn't exactly a rare occurrence, especially in such a place where she was so obviously out of place and frankly scared by all the changes she'd gone through. Lancelot, being a pokemon, was able to adapt far quicker and was personally just thankful that bird had left before it tried to eat her.

Nyoko turned away from the man at the water and back to the girl she was travelling with. She still didn't know her name yet. The girl was on a rant on how her dress was ruined by the few drops of water that sprinkled down from the blast. This was something she was all too familiar with. All of her girlfriends at her old private school in Goldenrod acted eeriely the same, almost like some kind warped mirror. Nyoko never liked those kind of girls and never hanged out with the girls. In fact, she had a better relationship with the dirt than the girls. These bad memories would have bubbled to the surface and made her outraged, but Nyoko isn't that predictable. She never was.

"You got your dress wet? I hate it when that happens, but if ya just dry it quick, most of the time the colours won't fade. Don't be so angry at the guy, I'm sure he had a good reason to try to spray us with water. Maybe he was checking if we were idiots or somthin'. Lots of people don't like people with no reaction time."

"Well well...This is interesting," Bahnes said under his breath, as he pulled out his Pokedex. It scanned Floatern. The Pokedex beeped once to register the data, then shut down. Bahnes then took his Pokeballs out of his pocket, and released one of them. Magnemite appeared in the standard fashion, and Bahnes told it to charge its power. The magnets buzzed slightly, and began to turn slightly blue. He hoped the "reseachers" would obey the code of ethics of Pokemon battles, but judging by their natures, this proved unlikely.

Nathaniel shook his head in amusement at the sight of Daisuke's excitement over the large pokémon. "Hey, chill out, man!" He chortled. Finally feeling comfortable enough to set down Gible, trusting that he wouldn't run off again, Nathaniel turned to examine the impressive creature himself. Taking a step closer, he said, "So...You're a - Stendilr, right? I think I remember my brother telling me stories he'd heard about you during his travels, about some sort of Stantler evolution. He's never actually been in this region himself, though, so I assumed it was just a myth; but that's what you are, isn't it? A Stendilr?"

Robert rubbed his eyes abrasively and silently dreaming. Just when he decided that he and the others should make a run for it, Duskull suddenly began to levitate closer to Standilr.

"Duskull!" Robert hissed, but the crimson ghost's curiousity got the better of him. He began floating around it, poking and prodding with the huge, only pupil he had. He was thouroughly intrigued.

Robert decided it was safe for now, and moved closer, apprehensive but also curious.

Jason reacted quickly and pulled Squinky's Pokéball from his belt and smirked.

"Time for some more action, Squinky!" He threw the ball that opened and sent out the Water Pokémon.

Squinky landed on the ground and had the same kind of smirk on it's face that Jason had.

"Mrglmrglhrrgl!" Squinky's mouth was full with bubbles, as it had made itself ready to attack at the moment it was sent out.

"Be ready, bud!" Jason looked at the Team Cookie goons and waited for them to send out their Pokémon.

((Team Cookie is what Jason will call the villains untill their real name is revealed, and he may call them that afterwards too))

Eri deflated quickly when Nyoko spoke up, then turned. "I guess." she mumbled walking a few steps away from the other two and idly rubbing away the water to dry the material.

She really wasn't that upset about the dress, she'd brought three others like it with her. It wasn't even the principal of the matter; technically, she supposed she was purposely trying to stay unnoticed, so having her garb somewhat sullied wouldn't exactly damage her reputation any. She wasn't sure why, but she had just felt all sorts of emotions bubble up inside her; instead of taking it out in a physical manner (a quite unladylike thing to do), she fell into the common custom of the upper class to verbally berate others to make herself feel better.

Plus, he really did deserve to get yelled at for hurting that Murkrow. She wasn't sure why, but she'd been having increasingly fond thoughts about flying pokemon ever since she witnessed the giant shadow that destroyed the Azure bridge; even something smaller deserved to be treated with respect.

She took a couple deep breaths to calm herself. No matter how high-strung she was feeling at the moment, she needed to learn how to control herself. She turned again, once again poised and held together.

"Sorry for my outburst. I'm fine now." she said, lying airily. She was still feeling like her insides were going to drop out, but she figured that now wasn't the perfect time to sort herself out emotionally.
