Bri intently followed Ee, blocking out the din coming from the nearby Raichu. She thought for a second, then picked a pair of sunflowers, careful to make sure they weren't really Sunflora. She bent a stick into the shape of her head, and tied the sunflowers to the stick, creating an improvised set of headphones. She saw that Ee was similarly annoyed, so she quickly mad another pair. "Do you want these?" Bri asked, handing her teacher the headphones.

Ee accepted the gift with his teeth, and slipped them over his head. They didn't completely silence it, but it was much better. As they walked, also, the din became quieter and quieter. As he walked, Ee couldn't help turning and watching Bri as they walked. Trying not to blush, he opened his mouth. "You're...very creative, inventive. I can honestly say that I would never have thought of creating earmuffs out of sunflowers....Err...thank you, Bri.......I can tell you now, this will become an excellent quality to possess in the coming days." Ee remained silent as they walked for another moment, then waved his tail. "Come on, we're almost there."

Bri followed as best as she could, though she still wasn't used to her new body. I not only gained black fur and red eyes, but I also lost a foot and a good portion of my biomass. I can only guess that part of that biomass went into my fur, ears, and tail, though I can only guess where the rest went...In fact, I DON'T want to guess! She then heard Ee's compliment, and nodded in agreement. "Thank you."

Ee could hear the tone of Bri's voice, and, thanks to his psychic, could tell that she was in deep thought. He watched her...couldn't keep his eyes off of her, to tell the truth....He hoped she couldn't see the deep scarlet that covered his cheeks under the fur. Gulping, he nodded, almost absently. "You're...you're welcome," he said. Then, making up his mind, he turned his eyes to Bri's, and he looked straight into her eyes. "Bri...I don't know what you're thinking, but I know what you're doing, and your emotions. I...I just want to say, don't worry. You can trust me, and you can trust Viena."

Bri glared at Ee venomously.

"Even though she mentally enslaved me when I escaped from the very hunters that mocked me when I was human? Even though she dropped me into a pit? Even though she has disregarded my existence up until now? Even though she has done numerous other things to insult me? I know I can trust you, but I have very little faith in Viena."

Ee cringed, knowing that he had said the wrong words at the right time. I've observed it plenty of times...the males are always...always like I am. Am...am I falling for this anthropomorphic Pokemon? Ee shook his head minutely, then looked back at Bri. "I...Viena only did those things because she was worried; she thought you were a traitor...or...something like that. I'll be honest, at first, I didn't want to meet you either. But...things changed. I...I think I saw something in you, when you first spoke to me."

Bri sighed as she tried to remember back to that day...only to come up short. Dammit! Did someone put a mental block in my head? It seems like I've been having trouble remembering anything about my life as a Pokemon before the past few days. In fact, I can barely remember my human life...odd...

"Umm...could you refresh my memory, please?" Bri asked innocently.

Ee turned at the sudden request, but dismissed it as some whim. "Of course. This might take a minute, but it should be over soon." Ee stopped walking, waited until Bri did likewise, then closed his eyes. The gem on his forehead glowed, shining brightly. After a moment, he released himself, and sent his mind over to Bri's. When he entered it, he went straight to her memories, though of course he wandered and saw some other things. He hoped she didn't notice, and when he reached her memory, he imagined himself grasping it, and giving it an electrical shock. He did this three more times, and then receded from her mind, being careful not to look at anything. With a sigh, he laid down on the ground, slightly worn out.

Bri was amazed at what Ee was doing for her, but she meant for Ee to TELL her, not actually rebuild all of her memories for her! She cradled the Espeon hoping that he would wake up. Please, Ee! I want you to teach me how to use my powers! Because...because...I think I might be in love with you! Bri, without any rationality, gave him a kiss on the lips to try to revive him.

Ee felt something soft and gentle on his lips, and as the softness pulled away, he leaned his head up. After a few seconds, he went too far, and fell back to the hard Earth with a quiet WHUMPH. He opened his eyes, and looked straight into the worried face of Bri. Confused, he sat up on all fours, and gave her a questioning look. "Did...did I just faint?" He looked around, and saw that the sun was slightly higher in the sky then he last remembered. Again, confused, he looked at Bri, waiting for her answer. "And...what...what was that softness on my lips?"

Bri was in a corner, panicking. Sh*t, sh*t, sh*t!!! I kissed him! I really did it and kissed him! I hope he won't find out about how I changed, and how I have already managed to prove that the anthro retrovirus that turned me into an Umbreon can spread through saliva, and I gave him a generous helping! Who knows what's going to happen?!? She looked over to see Ee was slightly bigger than before, with a slightly more humanoid posture. It's been about 2 hours since I kissed him, but I have no idea how long it took for me to change! And I have no idea what the virus will do to him!!!

Ee was perplexed to see Bri in a small corner, huddling against a tree. At that moment, Ee realized that they had entered a forest. Shaking his head, he coughed. Walking up to Bri, he leaned down next to her. "Bri...is...is everything alright?" He had a sudden idea, and decided to follow through. He was glad that Bri seemed unable to comprehend anything in the real world at the moment, and tried to suppress the red pigments that rushed to his face. He continued leaning over, until his face was even with Bri's. He leaned slightly closer, and kissed her, full on in the lips. He stayed like that for a full minute, then pulled back, panting quietly. "Bri...?" he whispered.

Bri turned her head from him and asked "Do you want to know how I got to be like this? It's a pretty interesting story." She then handed Ee some Pokechow that was in a bag. "Do you want some?" He will need all of the energy he can get for the next few hours. Bri thought to herself. His body will be working overtime, so his metabolism will have to compensate. He's probably starving from just 2 hours in. Since my change was from a larger form to a smaller, I was fine, but he's upgrading, so he needs food, and lots of it..

Ee was a little surprised when she held out the food to him, along with asking if he was interested in her story. He hadn't thought she would want to share that with anyone, especially a Pokemon that she had only known for a few weeks. Suddenly hardening, he swept out with a paw, knocking the food out of her hands. "I may be hungry, but I'll never stoop to eating that..that...that crap! Just...if you would be willing to wait a minute, I will find my own food." Again, Ee closed his eyes, and the gem on his forehead glowed. Soon, a bunch of berries came flying from every direction. He used his psychic powers to sort them, then sat down. "Sorry about that. To be honest, I've never liked the taste of that, and I managed to learn that it has little to no nutritional value. But...please, I would love to hear your story, especially since I managed to completely restore your memory."

Bri tried to remember that night, but even though her memory was restored, her subconscious kept making her memories of that night hazy. "Well, I was working late on a retrovirus, a special virus that rewrote genetic codes, that would allow humans to understand Pokemon by reconstructing the genes that allow humans to reprocess sounds, and insert Pokemon as part of-"

Bri saw that Ee had fallen asleep while she had been talking.

"I lost you at 'genetic codes' didn't I?"

Ee opened his eyes, and blinked. For some reason, he had no energy left. He yawned, and tried to sit back up. As he did, an unfamiliar pain lanced through his entire body, causing him to cry out. He lay on the ground for a minute, that felt like an eternity, before he sat back up. "S-sorry," he said. "But for some reason, I hardly have any energy left. Believe it or not, I heard, listened to, and understood all of what you said. Pokemon aren't stupid, you know!" He sighed, trying to calm himself. Why do I feel like I haven't slept for the past week?! I know I just slept less than a day ago...

"No, it's my fault." Bri replied. "Usually when I try to explain my work to someone, they fall asleep, so I just assumed that you did the same. Anyways, I was working on this when some hunter came in and they had...Oh my god they killed him! They killed Pitch! I let him go free for a little while, but they must not have seen the tracking collar! I attacked them, and some of Pitch's blood got into the retrovirus, and I accidentally got knocked back and got knocked into the vial and...then I started to change. I got an half of a vial into my system, and I was an anthro Umbreon within minutes. Then they...they....."

By this point, she was crying heavily because she rememebred what those hunters did to her after she had transformed, and started sobbing in anguish and sorrow, both for her dead Pokemon friend and herself.

Ee wasn't exactly sure what it was the hunters did to her, but he was sure that Bri would tell him, if only she had to gather herself. He nodded as she spoke. "I understand. Pitch...he was an Umbreon, I'm assuming. He sounds like he would be a sensational Pokemon to meet." Ee wasn't sure if he was saying the right thing or not, but he hoped he was. He moved closer to Bri, and licked a tear as he fell from her face. "Please," he said softly, "please continue telling me your story."

"Horrible, horrible things...things that shouldn't be done to a human, much less a Pokemon-human hybrid." Bri gave him a glimpse into her now-restored memory of that horrible night. Showing what they did to her to prove that she was no longer human. Showing the fire that they started at her lab to destroy all of her precious research. At least of one them, the one that didn't participate in her violation, came back later to drop her off at the ruins of the lab and clean her up.

Ee was horrified by what Bri showed him, but also intrigued that she had managed to show him anything at all. Normally, only Pokemon who were psychic could do something like that. He was shocked that this anthropomorphic Umbreon possessed the ability. Ee shook visibly, but hid it as best he could from Bri. He pressed his flank against her tucked in legs, trying to comfort her. "I'm...I'm sorry," was all he said. Then, he simply waited. After about a half hour, he felt he had to tell Bri something about himself. "Do you want to know why I'm called Ee?" he asked, turning to face her. Not waiting for an answer, he continued. "It's...an abbreviation. My second trainer was horrible...he always beat me, and yelled at me. One of his favorite things to shout at me after he 'trained' me was: 'Even so-and-so could do this', or 'Even the stupidest Pokemon could do that.' After a few days, I forgot my original name, and the only thing I could remember when I tried to think of my name was 'Even...'. So, eventually, I ended up being called Even. Through time, this was shortened to simply Ee."

Bri rested against him, his fur soft to her touch. She knew that he had grown another inch while they were talking, and would probably continue transforming for a few more hours. "I can't believe how indecent humans have become. My grandfather told me of a time when humans and Pokemon were able to co-exist and work together to make the world a better place. I told these stories to Pitch, and he co-operated with me much better afterwards, and we even became friends. I wish Grandfather was still here. He and his Pikachu were such great company."

Ee nodded, enjoying the warmth of Bri's fur. He sighed, contented for the moment. Just before he could nod off into sleep, his original plans jolted through his mind, startling him into wakefulness. He stood up hastily, then turned and faced Bri. "Well...uh...we'd...we'd better get going if we want to get any of your training done today. Come on, only a few more miles and we'll be at my original training area." He hoped he wasn't being to up front with Bri; the last thing he wanted was for her to get angry, or to break down.

Bri placed a finger on Ee's lips. "Sshh...I'm tired, you're tired, and we're comfortable right here. We can train tomorrow, and you never told Viena how far or how long we would be gone. Also, you need plenty of rest due to my little kiss. The very same retrovirus that I was afflicted with can only be spread through saliva, so when I kissed you, you got the retrovirus that turned me into an Umbreon. As we speak, your body is changing into a hybrid between human and Pokemon, and consuming tons of your energy, which is why you are so hungry and tired. Just sleep for now, and we will see what you become in the morning."

Ee was shocked by Bri's proclamation. Contrary to what Bri said, Ee thought completely differently. He shook his head, hoping he could convince Bri to listen to him. "No..." he said quietly. Then, louder, "No! I...I can't believe it! I don't even understand how you could know how this retrovirus contracts. For all I know, you could just be lying, and I could be completely fine, or at least sick." Ee didn't believe this, and his voice quickly trailed off. "No...I...I believe you. I'm sorry, but it's just so hard to grasp. But...but I don't want to just sit around and wait for my body to change."
