"What do you mean 'just me'?!?" Cici screeched. "If I wasn't pinned up against a wall with my own creation bearing down my neck, you would've paid dearly for that remark!"

"Oh! Ilana, it's you!" AKI realized that the girl with the flames was Ilana. "I didn't recognize you with the paler skin and the dark clothing and the dark sclera and the purple irises and-"

"Stop having a Bill Cosby moment and get me out of here!" Cici barked.

AKI turned to Rayos, confused. "Well, what should I do, Rayos? On one hand, Cici, along with you, saved my life, and I'm still indebted to her. But on the other hand, even though I don't know much about Ilana, her records that I've acquired online show that she may have a temper, but she wouldn't attack someone without provocation."

"More specifically, someone tried using the T word to control her and she got so pissed that she ignited the air around her." Rayos said "Trust me, I've been staring down the barrel that gun more times than I care to count. Now assuming that I'm right and Cici pressed Ilana's berserk button, we should walk away right now and go help the rest of our people." He told AKI, placing his hand on her Mark "If, however, I'm wrong... Well then Ilana's gonna go nuclear and Drake better have good homeowner's insurance. Either way, sticking around is a bad idea and intervening is worse."

 

"Unless you want to throw her out the window, in which case, go for it."

Just before AKI was about to make a decision, Cici sarted chuckling. The chuckling turned into laughing that got louder and more maniacal, until she was being incredibly stereotypical. She then summoned one of her katana, and drove it into her chest, which, interestingly enough, released no blood, and she showed no indication of pain. "See you in the Spirit World, Ilana." Cici wheezed. "And remember that you still have my mark on your back. I will find you, no matter how hard you try to hide." She then started to lock up and freeze, which caused her clothes, skin, and hair to turn a sandy color, then disintegrate into dust as her eyes, tattoos, and seal flashed purple.

"Big-lipped alligator moment, anyone?"

Ilana slammed her fist into the wall where Cici was and slumped down, the fire surrounding her body vanishing, and started shaking from sheer exhaustion. She didn't even notice that her room was still on fire in several places, most notably the picture of her and Tara on the nightstand.

 

Temptress and Field were slumped down on the floor, Verda holding him like a stuffed animal. When Cici went into the Spirit World, the hold she had on them was cut off, for the moment.

 

"AKI, sit with Ilana for a few moments, I'll take care of these two and putting out the flames." Rayos said, picking up Field with his Gauntlet, careful not to let the bird touch his bare skin or clothing. With his other arm, he picked up the mute Spirit and held her close to his body, like a child. He looked at AKI again and left the room.

AKI looked around, and pressed the leather section that was analogous of her breasts, causing the section to pop out. She fished around in her "cleavage" until she pulled out a small can. She replaced her leather breastplate and thumbed an activator on the can, causing it to beep and a small light on the can to start flashing. She then placed the can on the floor.

"Heads up: Any fire you DON'T want extenguished, please protect in the next...10 seconds." As she said this, the beeping started to get luder and closer together as the light started to flash more frequently.

Ilana just remained motionless, mentally and physically exhausted from the strain of having to fight for control of her own mind.

 

Rayos, meanwhile, elbowed his way into Mark's old room and gently sent Verda down on the bed, with Field right next to her. The little humanoid Spirit immediately wrapped her arms around the little flaming bird, never stirring. The amnesiac smiled slightly at the sight and walked out, gently closing the door behind him to avoid waking the sleeping Spirits. He walked over to AKI afterward and looked at Ilana, "AKI, she doesn't need a decorator at the moment, she needs someone to talk to."

AKI quickly picked up Ilana and got her out of the room just as the can detonated, sending green goo all over Ilana's bedroom, quenching the flames. AKI even closed the door so that the goo wouldn't spread. She set Ilana down on the bed next to Verda and the hawk, and turned to Rayos. "If Cici said that she was going to help us, why did she do whatever she did to Ilana, then disappear like that? Why are we Signers, and why did those Truemen try to kidnap me? What in the world is going on?!?"

"Cici's a lying b@#$%, or she's sick and twisted enough to think that torturing someone that's like a sister to me is helping. We're Signers because the Crimson Dragon saw how amazingly awesome we were in the last global crisis and gave us a shot, the Truemen kidnapped you because they were paid to do so, and I honestly have know idea what in the world is going on, probably because we're in the wrong world right now." Rayos told AKI, silently calling Spirit of Nature to his hand "I'll leave Spirit here for now to protect Ilana, Temptress, and Field while we're in the Spirit World."

"So how do we get to the Spirit World?" AKI wondered.

 

Meanwhile, deep within the underground catacombs of Endymion's Citadel, a magical circle erupted with energy as dust formed inside the circle into a humanoid body. The body gained color as purple markings raced across the surface, until Cici was recreated.

"I hate dying." Cici commented as she stretched her newly-reborn body.

"And I hate it when you screw up." A voice boomed from the shadows.

Cici knelt in the direction of the voice. "I apologize, master, but I simply wanted to-"

"You had no reason for deputizing Ilana, my apprentice." The voice scolded. "You could have simply made a deal with her. You need to learn to control that beast lurking inside you."

"I know..." Cici replied as she looked down.

"Well, you will have a chance to redeem yourself. The Signers are coming to the Spirit World."

"May I intercept them?"

"No. We will wait until they require our aid."

"Yes, master."

[Blackstone Dresden]

Rayos pulled out the card Jasmine gave him, careful not to stab it with his claws, and looked at it "No name, no image, no effect." He told AKI, his right sclera turning red. "It's got this weird circuit pattern across it though..." He said, showing the card to AKI, who saw nothing except for a blank Spell Card with absolutely no writing on it at all. "Odd..." He said, his eye turning back to normal. "Well, we have no other way to know what we're supposed to do in the Spirit World except to go to the Spirit World ourselves."

AKI started to stare into space for a few seconds, then came back to reality. "Well, according to what I have researched, we have a few options to get to the Spirit World. We can enter a specially-induced coma or trance, though this will only last as long as the subconscious will remain that way, and due to special limiters in my neural systems, I cannot take that path. We can also get the invitation of a Duel Monster Spirit, though the Duel Monster Spirit can only carry so many people, and if something happens to the Spirit, we get affected. And finally-"

AKI just stopped mid-sentence.

"We...we could create a portal to the Spirit World on top of or near an existing ley line or interdimensional rupture, like the B.A.D. Area."

[Blackstone Dresden]

"Well, obviously option one is impossible." Rayos said, thinking "Option two... Would put too much strain on Spirit..." He said, scratching the six winged bird on its neck "And option three seems like more trouble than it's worth." He flicked his arm out, causing the Tail Mark on his arm to glow briefly and then a Duel Disk shaped like his Mark of the Dragon appeared on his arm "Let's hope this works..." He said, tossing the card into the air and grabbing AKI's hand "Field Spell, Activate." He stated, causing his Duel Disk's sixth card zone to glow and expand outward. A flap opened and the card dropped neatly inside just before the flap shut. There was a brilliant flash of light and AKI and Rayos appeared in The A Zone.

AKI realized she was floating in some sort of space, and noticed nothing but swirling colors and a few pieces of rock. She quikly ran through her options, and decided that the best one would require her to do something she had never deemed necessary. Activating Glider Mode. A much more mechanical version of her already Transformer-esque voice announced as AKI changed into a sort of flying Duel Runner. "Rayos, get on me!" AKI yelled as she fired up some thrusters on her rear, coasting towards Rayos.

Rayos opened his mouth to say something, then closed it again "AKI, we're in the Spirit World. All of our cards are real." He drew six cards from his deck, which just seemed to appear on the left side of his Duel Disk, and slipped one into his Duel Disk "Polymerization. I fuse the Elemental Knight in my hand with Elemental Hero Avian! Nature's fury, raging throughout the Earth. Billowing gusts and tremendous winds. Fusion Summon! Emerald Cyclone! Elemental Hero Great Tornado!" A blue and green portal appeared in front of Rayos, pulling in the Avian he held in his hand. However, instead of taking Elemental Knight, the portal pulled in Rayos himself.

"Now you tell me! I'm stuck in this form until we aren't in this dimension anymore, so get us out of here!" A golden saucer-shaped spacecraft started to head for them. "Rayos, whatever you do, do not scare the locals." AKI turned to the spacecraft. "Greetings local Duel Monsters! We come in peace, and mean you no ha-"

The saucer fired a red beam of energy at AKI, who quickly dodged. "That's it! Rayos, attack!"

[Blackstone Dresden]

"I have no idea what in the HELL is going on," Rayos said, now Great Tornado "But I do know two things right now. 1, I'm not letting you hurt the woman I love. 2, I know my Monster's effect." A large aura appeared around the Elemental Hero/Signer hybrid "This one's one of my favorites, and I think you'll like it to. It's called Downburst!" He called, causing a burst of wind to weaken the spacecraft "Oh, I almost forgot. The third thing that I know is my Attack! Super Cell!" He shouted again, raising both his arms and making a large tornado to appeared around both himself and the ship.

IC:"Well, now that you get main idea, i guess we can go meet back up with... some spirit that's going to explain the crisis." He walked off, leading the other signer in the same direction

Jasmine was watching the entire time. "Dang it! And you stole it from me!" She noticed they dropped the card. "Thank god!" She picked it up, and went down stairs, stopping by Drake first. "If you want to help me and the rest of the signers, better get ready, cause i'm leaving soon." She ran back to her d-wheel and pulled it out, then waited a couple minutes for Drake.

The ship was tossed about a lot, and was somewhat damaged, until it started making a beeping noise. After a few seconds, even more ships had appeared, surrounding the fused Signer and the flying cyborg. "Rayos, please tell me you have a plan?"

 

Meanwhile, Cici and her mysterious master were watching this all unfold from a scrying pool.

"Should we intervene now?" Cici asked.

"No." Her master replied. "I wish to see what this 'Rayos' is capable of."

 

((And no, there is no way that anyone can tell that Cici and her master are watching Rayos and AKI.))

"Actually, James" Shadow said, his voice harsh and demonic "The portal to Otherworld isn't that far from here, is it?" The Duel Spirit asked "It's just that, there are two Signers in Otherworld right now fighting against a small army of Alien spacecrafts, and one of the Signers could really use a Tuner, seeing as all he uses are Fusions and Transformations."

 

"Jasmine, if I'm going with you, I'm not gonna pull any punches." Drake told the girl, appearing next to her atop Vulcan "If I ever find myself in a duel, I will kill my opponent. If you have a probably with that, tell me now. If you feel that the situation's really that desperate, then we're completely and utterly @#$%ed, aren't we?"

 

Rayos slashed the air in front of his face and the entire contents of his Extra Deck appeared in front of them "How did I know how to do that?" He asked himself worriedly "Actually, my basic idea was to cut the shuttle's power in half with Downburst and then literally cutting it in half with Super Cell..." He did the math in his head "AKI, I really hope that I just hit a Trap Card, or else these shuttles have fifty-six hundred Attack each." He flew over to the girl and tried to draw again. His deck locked itself up as soon as his hand got anywhere near it "Please tell me that it's your turn." He whispered, looking at the shuttles.

 

((What about Tara? She's got an evil overload thing going for her, what with the three different sources of evil inside her body (Dark Seal, Sun Queen, Shadow Droid Army) so it wouldn't be that much of a stretch. That and I wanna RP as her already))

AKI summoned her "rider", who shuffled her Deck and prepared for battle. She drew her cards, and grinned. "I play Dragunity Attendant in Defense Mode and two face-downs, then I end my turn."

A winged girl with an apron and light armor appeared near AKI, and crouched down defensively and meekly. (1900 DEF)

The saucers started to fire, and sent out a sea of red light, until AKI flipped up one of her face-downs, creating a shimmering sphere of energy around the two that reflected the attacks back at the fleet, obliterating them.

"Mirror Force. Can't leave home without it."

[Blackstone Dresden]

"You couldn't have saved just one for me?" Rayos Tornado asked, shaking his head "At least to save me a little bit of dignity? What kinda guy goes around getting his ass saved by his girlfriend?" He shook his head and started gliding around Otherworld "So... Where's the way out?" He asked AKI "Or are we just supposed to try and spot a crisis from outer space?" He shook his head again and placed his hand on AKI's Avatar's hand, his Gauntlet and Signer Mark the only thing distinguishing him from any other Great Tornado Monster Spirit.

"Give me a second..." AKI replied as she quickly did some calculations. "There! That's where the Aliens came from!" She was pointing off in a seemingly random direction. "If we go that way, we will find the Aliens' base. They have to have a portal there. At least, that's what my calculations are dictating. I will know when we get closer, because I will be able to figure out the location of any spatial distortions due to their subspace ripples."

[Blackstone Dresden]

"AKI, bring up an image of the Otherworld card. If memory serves, the Aliens have a direct line into Neo Space. Now, given that the Neo-Spacians are a rather heroic Archetype, and that we're quite obviously the good guys, I'd say that the Neo Space portal is a lot safer and saner than flying headlong towards the base." He held up his hand and sighed "Alright, the way stuff like this usually goes, you're going to tell me that the quickest and only realistic route to the Neo Spacian portal takes us dangerously close to the Alien base."

AKI did so, and did some more calculations. After about half a minute, AKI finally came to a conclusion. "Well, I was partially right. There is a portal at the Aliens' base, which appears to be what's left of their homeworld. that goes straight to the Spirit World. There are also several other portals that go to other pocket dimensions in the Spirit World, such as the E-Hero World, the Sanctuary in the Sky, the the Dark World. And finally, there's the portal to Neo Space. It's the closest, but there's one little snag: It's guarded."

Before Rayos could answer "By who?", a figure that appeared to be a female version of Neos flew towards them and held up her hand for them to stop.

"Well you two are the strangest pair of Aliens I've ever seen." A somewhat insecure-sounding female voice emanates from the being. "But...but I can't let you pass!"

'Why not?"

"Because Neos said that any Aliens heading for the portal had to be destroyed!"

"But we're not Aliens!"

"Umm...prove it!"

"What?"

"Prove you aren't Aliens!"

[Blackstone Dresden]

"Lady, you're talking to Elemental Hero Great Tornado. Do you REALLY think that I'm an Alien, or are you just screwing with us?" He asked as AKI's hand changed to his cards instead of her own, "Let us pass, and you will have our eternal gratitude, stand in our way in this very time-sensitive matter, and I won't even need my effect to destroy you." He stood there in the silent depths of space, thankful for Great Tornado's natural cloak, which hid his metal arm, and for the vacuum of space, which prevented a stray gust of wind from blowing his cover "Well? What's it gonna be? Let Miss Aki and I go, or face her in a duel, lose, and we'll go anyway."

 

((Rayos' hand: Polymerization, De-Fusion, Fusion Weapon))
