"Well, I still have my Exemplar, don't I?" Cici sneered. "Exemplar, attack Blast Magician!" Exemplar charged up a green orb, which she fired at the red-clad magician.

 

"Well, of course I have headlights!" AKI replied. "I wouldn't make a very convincing Duel Runner if I didn't! Now, when we find him, what exactly are we asking him to do to me? Please remember that I'm a cyborg, not a robot. I have living components inside of me that require other components to operate. If my organs shut down, I will die, just like the first time when multiple organs got punctured and damaged."

Blast Magician caught the orb in the crook of his sickle and tossed it off to the side, through a window that Temptress recently opened, where it exploded harmlessly in midair (DEF 1700) "What exactly were you trying to accomplish there?" Ilana asked, genuinely puzzled "My Magician's Defense canceled out your Exemplar's attack, did I miss something?" She shrugged "Well, I guess you can't be expected to look that hot and be very bright. I mean, you're not me."

 

"Well I knew you had headlights I just didn't know you had eyelights" Rayos told AKI, thinking for a few moments "So, we could do a full scan of your chassis, then make a 3D model and figure out where we can streamline, and from there it's a simple matter of constructing your new body and implanting your organs and consciousness into that new body, and then we figure out how to transform this body" He motioned down AKI "Into an extension of the new body, like how I'm controlling Faust with my Gauntlet." He nodded, jotted down a few numbers, and nodded again "Yeah, that should work."

Cici thought something was amiss. "I could've sworn that your Magician was in Attack Mode a moment ago. Anyways, I set a card facedown and end my turn."

"Well, could we make my new body look like my new avatar? Please? I even know where we can acquire some military-grade nanomachines to make my new body out of!"

"You need to keep your eyes off my amazing body and start focusing on the game." Ilana said, then chuckled "Or maybe you could just forfeit if you're too distracted. But then, I'd need my coat back." She shrugged "Anyway, I draw and, since I have four Lavals in my Graveyard, I can Summon Laval Burner. Next, I'll Activate my face-down Pot of Greed, drawing two cards from my deck (Blast SC 3) "And, I'll play Crimson Memory, removing two of my Lavals to Summon two Laval Tokens, which will then go away from my Lavallord Judgment!" A giant flaming golem appeared next to the Spellcaster and the smaller flaming golem "Now, I'll switch my Blast Magician to Attack Mode and remove three Counters from him! Blasty, would you please Destroy her Crusader!" The Reaper Magician sent three balls of fire at the Endymion knockoff, "Now, Blast Magician, Attack her Apprentice, Laval Warrior, destroy her Exemplar! Lavallord, attack her directly!"

"You're really attached to your new Avatar aren't you?" Rayos asked, "I prefer your first one, but you're you either way, and it's your body, so I'm fine with your decision." He smiled at her "So, we should probably start with that scan, right?" Rayos asked, pulling the cover off of a giant half cylinder that looked like it cost more than three city blocks. "Uh... Let's see if I can remember how this works..."

Cici laughed maniacally as a shimmering barrier dissolved her assailants into bits and bytes.

"I wasn't admiring your body. I don't swing that way to begin with. I was just admiring your stupidity to put all of your eggs in one basket! Mirror Force is a staple in any deck."

Crusader of Endymion was gone, but Exemplar and Apprentice remained, and Exemplar had 4 more Spell Counters. (SC: 5)

"Do you end your turn?"

 

AKI looked at the mchine all over in curiosity. "What is that thing, and what does it do? My scanners can't penetrate the alloy covering it..."

James was shocked to see the card in fron tof his eyes, this was shocking seeing as he just killed the cards signer. "W... why did you choose me to be your holder?" He closed his eyes and smiled. "Fine, i'll take good care of you." He took the card, and put it in his extra deck, for safe keeping,

"So it's sent me towards a kid and towards Rayos with AKI by his side. Heck if i know if that little kid was a signer, but i don't see why it would lead me to random people."

"I Activate Trap Jammer!" Ilana said smiling "Your pathetic Mirror Force is negated!" In two pillars of lava and a pillar of flame, Ilana's monsters were back on the field "Did you think I was really that dense? Come on! You just saw me swarming the field and assumed that I went brute force over strategy, despite the fact that the two are not mutually exclusive. Anyway, yes, you're up."

 

"I have no idea what it is, or where Drake found and-or stole it, but for our purposes, it should scan your human and Duel Runner forms and, hopefully, between the two of us, we can get a decent idea of what goes where and does what so we know what your new body needs and what we can sacrifice to make you look human. He also somehow managed to generate parts from this thing, but that's a whole nother matter entirely"

Once per turn, you may remove 1 Spell Counter from a card you control to destroy 1 face-down Spell or Trap Card on your opponent's side of the field. During your opponent's turn, you may discard this card to the Graveyard and remove 3 Spell Counters from a card you control to negate the activation of a Trap Card and destroy it.

 

A dark shadow seeped out of the card Cici had just discarded, and took 3 of Exemplar's Spell Counters. The shadow then slinked over to Trap Jammer, and used the Spell Counters to cause lightning to come out. The Trap Jammer short-circuited as the Mirror Force continued.

 

"You know, I could've told you all of that, but please, continue."

"Seriously? You're gonna make me fight for this aren't you?" Ilana said, triggering her last face-down "I activate the Trap Card Jar of Greed to draw one card from my Deck!" Ilana let out a sharp laugh "Ha! Now I Activate the effect of my Laval Gardna, discarding it to negate your Saboteur!" A tiny flaming stone golem ran into the Saboteur and both were destroyed in a brilliant flash of light. "Now then, my turn's done."

"Futilely attempting to win still? Lavallord Judgment, finish her off with your Monster effect!"

 

"Yes but it might be good for those of us that don't have your blueprints hardwired into our minds to have visual aids when we're going through your vital organs... circuits... whatever..." Rayos said "Unless of course you're going to tell me you can generate three dimensional holographic representations of your circuitry in both your forms that I can freely manipulate, that is, in which case we really don't need the big awesome... thing..."

IC:Reciving the Black-winged Dragon made James think about the good times he had with Mark, before Tara did her evil ways with him, meating him during the battle between the dark and light seals, him being a moon king, and then, the crashing truth of what happened to him when teh shadow droids took over. "If i was there to save him, that time, i wouldn't have had to do what i just did..." James started to tear up, small drips falling from his eyes.

Jasmine was getting impatient. "Are we there yet? It's been so long. True, my trip to sattelite was longer than this, but it seems like we're going around in circles."

[The Dragon Duelist]

He walked along a dark pathway looking at a huge opening in the middle of it. "What is that?" He said quietly as he got closer he noticed a bright light at the end of it. "Tha-!" He was felt a huge gust of wind fly against him making him fall into it. "Wah?!" He blacked out as he reached a croweded forest. He ended up laying on the ground for a while not paying attention.

The Tail Mark on James' left arm was throbbing uncontrollably, not trying to forcibly rip itself off like when it was still on Mark, but James could clearly sense that he was not the Mark's ideal match. In all probability, the Mark was just trapped in the Spirit World and attached itself to James because he was the only human being in the Spirit World, while Black-Winged Dragon only managed to pass through because the Spirit World was his home dimension.

 

"There are currently two Signers in the Spirit World, one in New Domino City, one... somewhere, I can't get a lock on him, and.." He stopped talking for a long moment and moved on "We're going to the third Signer's... friend-and-or-boyfriend's master's house-slash-Duel Runner repair shop. It only looks like we're driving in circles because this city is gigantic and hired the exact same contractor for every building, and every single street is built in a circle."

"Grr... A double signer? Is that even possible? I mean, why not use a spirit as another signer? I don't see why not, but whatever, i'm fine with it." James sat down by where one of the vortexs just closed. "Hey, no one pasted through, why did it close?"

"A signer has entered the Spirit World, just in the wrong area. Somehow, he landed in the ancient forest. I can get him here." She opened another vortex next to the kid, leading him to Neos Space area.

"Ok, so not much i can do? Times running out and this signer you're leading me to may be the last one i can get to. I need more time, but the spirit world can't wait. We need to hurry." Wonder where the kid is? Is he the unlockable one or the one in Neo-Domino, or is he even a signer?

Cici was knocked back by the blast that annihilated her monsters, but got back up rather quickly. (Cici: 0 LP)

"Congratulations, Ilana. You have just become the first sentient being to ever beat me. Well, at least as Cici. I lost all the time back when I was human. Anyways, can I ave some clothes now? I'm not cold aymore, thanks to your monsters, but I am a bit tired of you oggling me."

 

AKI shrugged. "And this is where the advancement of the Arcadia Movement fails you. I'm not THAT heavily outfitted. They still had to have room for all of the parts that make me do me stuff."

((James is not a double Signer, he's a Signer and his left arm is a temporary holding cell for Signer energy until the permanent occupant can be found.))

 

"No, there's really nothing you can do. You're gonna have to make due with three of the last four living Signers for now." Faust told Jasmine "I'll try to triangulate that signal later. He's probably a Thunder Duelist. I can never get a lock on those people, they always have to @#$% up with this body--- my circuitry. Major pain in the exhaust pipe."

 

"Aww man..." Ilana said, offering Cici her hand "I at least gave you my coat but fine, I'll show you to mine and Tara's room, maybe we'll have something in your size" She looked up and down Cici "Well, your current size at least, we don't have quite the same proportions when you get back to your old self... By the way, when do you turn back? She's more fun to look at."

 

"Which is where the giant scanning tin can comes in" Rayos told her with a smile "Now, any more holes you wanna poke in my plan?"

 

"I got one." Drake said, kicking the door shut with his foot "How in the Hell do you expect to do that when I feed you to Wyvern for breaking into my house."

AKI shook her head as she eyed the giant cylinder. "No, but do I really have to get into this thing? Because I don't trust this hunk of metalloids as far as I could throw it, and considering that this contraption is bolted to the floor, that says a lot."

 

Cici made her way into Ilana's Room, which was distinguished from the other rooms around her by having "Ilana's Room" in painted wooden letters on the door, and rummaged through her host's closet, looking for anything in a size A.

"Hmm..." Cici was puzzled as she found a brown tank top, some suitable undergarments, and a set of faded jean shorts that were her size. "Your theme appears to be an almost literal variation on the term 'hot pink', but these are drab and dull in comparison. Furthermore, they were shoved into a box in the dark recesses of your wardrobe. What's going on?"

((Hello, Drake, slammed door, threats of being made into a dragon's dinner, that didn't affect AKI at all?))

 

"Those... aren't mine..." Ilana told her, absentmindedly flicking off the paint that Rayos applied to her door with her fingernail "I told you, this isn't just my room... I shared it with..." Her voice broke on the last word and she closed her eyes and steadied her breathing with visible effort. She opened her eyes for a brief moment and a single tear fell down her face. The Laval Duelist shut the door to her room and sat down on the messy half of the large bed that could have served as a perfect metaphor for the room itself, half looking like a tornado hit and half perfectly neat and organized, save for the layers of dust.

AKI suddenly noticed Drake. "Whah! Where did you come from? And why are you threatening us?"

 

Cici suddenly hurt from Ilana's reaction to her observation, and used a bit of basic magic to unlock the room and sat down next to the weeping girl. Cici placed a gentle hand on Ilana's shoulder, and rubbed it gently. "I am...a kindred spirit...of sorts. I've had to...separate...from someone I loved too. I will tell you my story if you tell me yours. I promise that I will not tell anyone your secrets if you do the same for mine." To prove it, Cici cast a spell that surrounded the whole room, and any background noise ceased. "As an act of good faith, I just placed a rather powerful enchantment around your room. No one can listen in or observe anything that goes on inside this chamber, and you must allow a person entry if they are to come in."

IC:"Well, now what? The other signers should be on there way, unless Jasmine got side tracked." he looked over to his d-wheel. "maybe i should check it out, seeing as it fell through a vortex and it sounded like it landed hard." James started up and drove around, in the limited space set off in Neos Space.

"Whatever, I just need to get to the last of the signers i can reach now. Time is of the essence. Soon, we may miss our chance and end up with the spirit world out of wack!" Jasmine took the card off her duel disk and placed it in one of her deck boxes. "I trust that your leading me in the right direction."

((Ilana's not a Signer))

 

"Did you forget who's house this is?" Drake asked AKI "Now, why are you here and what are you doing near my machine?"

 

"Tara was... is... my first... everything..." Ilana told Cici "We grew up together, we were like sisters throughout Duel Academy, up til we became upperclassmen, at least. Then we were... more..." Ilana said, her personality changing from the flirt that was completely unashamed about anything, to more withdrawn, closed off, "When the Dark Seals, Drake was one of the first to turn... I convinced Mark to leave me behind to Duel him, so long as he get Tara away. We both ran FIRE Decks, and, now, we match each other perfectly. Back then... we didn't, and I became cursed with the Seal. I hunted her, hunted the only girl... on person I ever loved... And I enjoyed it..." She broke into sobs and hugged her legs close to her chest "When I was finally defeated, Tara already had Signer and Dark Seal powers... And when her Duel Spirit died... She turned insane, sadistic... Like me..."

 

"We're here." Faust said, shifting back from a Riding Roid to a Duel Runner.

"Nothing." AKI quickly replied.

 

"This wasn't the first time I became a Dark Signer." Cici started. "I used to be very low on the food chain of a prominent news site, until I ran into the man of my dreams, a famous duelist at the time. I fell head-over-heels for him, though he didn't return the favor, at least, at first. Then, after a series of unfortunate events, I found myself a Dark Signer, and forced to battle against my love. We fought, and he managed to defeat me."

Cici turned to Ilana. "Do you know what happens to a Dark Signer if they are defeated in a Shadow Duel? They die. Again. And trust me, dying a second time is usually worse than dying the first time, but my love was there with me until everything went black..."

"But I got a second chance, and reality was changed, as if nothing happened. I didn't remember what I did as a Dark Signer until much later, when I died a third time in a horrible, horrible accident, but that's another story for another day."

"But now that I am a Dark Signer again, I am separated from my love until I die again, and the Powers-That-Be refuse to let me rest until balance is restored."

Cici pulled back her hair to reveal an intricate tatto on her back. It looked like a magical circle that had a hexagonal design inside of it, with the Condor mark inside of that.

"This is the seal that contains Wiraqocha Rasca inside of me. Normally, a Dark Signer acts as a temporary vessel for their Immortal, harnessing their Immortal's power in exchange for having the Immortal nudge them in the right direction, but I'm a bit different. Wiraqocha Rasca is completely sealed inside of me, thanks to this little guy."

A small pink turtle had appeared on Ilana's bed.

"Hi." The turtle greeted in a surprisingly masculine voice that sounded refined, calm, and stately.

 

((Can I add that Cici has three Duel Spirits?))

"It sounded like you were planning on building your own human body so that Rayos isn't in love with a 7 foot tall robot." Drake said, walking up to them and pressing a few buttons on the giant machine, powering it down "But if you say it was nothing, who am I to disagree?"

 

"We're in opposite situations then." Ilana said "You can't get back to your love because of your mark." She placed her hand on Cici's back, right in the center of the Condor's body "And I can't see mine because of her marks." She finally noticed that Cici was sitting on the made half of the bed "You're... on her side..." Ilana said, moving over to the edge so Cici could move.

 

Temptress appeared again and cocked her head curiously at the turtle, not saying a word.

"I'm terribly sorry." Cici moved, but she instead scooted next to Ilana. "But I've learned something over the years that I have been in this form." She gently, and briefly, kissed Ilana on the lips. "It turns out that I go both ways." She then cuddled against Ilana, Cici's cold skin rubbing against Ilana's. "Let me get my pendant, the source of my transformation, and I will be more than happy to lie here with you."

 

AKI sweated a little bit, though the sweat was merely condensation from her systems. "Just brainstorming. Though, just in theory, if we were planning to use this scanner, would you let us? Keep in mind this is theoretical, so please don't use bias."

 

The turtle looked at the couple, and whispered "Daaaaamn..." to Temptress at a pitch too low for Ilana to hear, but not Cici, who decided to remain ignorant of her Spirit's comment.

Ilana shooed Temptress with her hand and smiled slightly at Cici "I thought you said your tastes didn't go that way. Or am I just that alluring that I turned you?" She asked, not taking her fever warm hand off the Dark Signer's Mark of the Shadows.

 

"I've seen Rayos pissed, and I've seen entire buildings burst into flames. The buildings were preferable. What do you need?" Drake asked AKI, hitting a few keys but not powering the machine back on just yet.

 

Temptress giggled girlishly at the turtle and silently whistled, causing a flaming bird to appear, clutching Cici's robes in its talons. Temptress whistled one more time and the bird puffed out, dropping the robes with a thump on a blanket.

Cici took off the borrowed clothes and picked up a black leather choker with a purple stone on it. The stone resembled the Spell Counters her cards used so liberally. She placed it around her neck, and in a split-second, Cici was once again a beautiful woman with the perfect body, albeit covered in tattoos. Her eyes had also become purple again. "I am sensitive about the form I take without my pendant, as I am not protected by the defensive enchantments that my pendant and my clothes provide me with, so I lied. But now, I'm feeling much, much better." Cici grabbed Ilana and kissed her passionately, while at the same time lifting the turtle off of the bed.

 

"I think Rayos would be able to explain our plan a whole lot better than I would."
