"My Red-Eyes and Hammerer took out Marine Neos in less than three turns." Drake said, looking at James, "So, how did the great and exalted Signer do? Manage to pull off a First Turn Kill, or did you actually have to fight to earn your key?" He held up his key, blue with a water droplet handle, and winced in pain again, "Ugh... Spellcasters' magic healing water my ass..." He muttered, "Feels like my skin's about to boil." He sat against the wall, sweating bullets, and it was immediately clear that something went horribly wrong after his Duel with Yubel.

Fake Aki started to shift and distort herself into something else. Her body ballooned into something fat and disgusting as her hair receded and became pink. Her face plumped and became a maw with two beady little eyes on top as the shadows wrapped into a form-fitting bodysuit and a flowing cape.

"Well, well, well. It seems like my job here is done." "Aki" replied as "she" started to turn away.

"What are you?!?" Aki asked her doppleganger.

"I have no true name, but those that I have encountered call me the Mimic of Doom. It's quite fitting. Melvin Ishtar hired me to destroy your little boy toy, which I have done with great aplomb."

Itsu was watching these events unfold, but she couldn't intervene. The Mimic had other powers that created a non-interference field around itself, preventing the events surrounding it from being altered.

Itsu begged.

Aki clenched the deck that was now hers and Rayos', and cried out in agony. "YOU BASTARD!!!"

James ran up and easily sety Drake on the ground. "Just relax. There isn't much we can do right now so just hang in there. Looks like you won't be taking on another Neos anytime soon." He noticed the door to Drake Neos challenge was still open and noticed the water inside. "Jasmine, take some fabric and soak it in the water in there."

She nodded and took the fabric on Drake off, running into the room, soaked it, then ran back, placing it on his forehead.

"Thanks, we need to keep him cool." I wish there was something more I could do...

"As soon as somebody hands me Air Neos's Key, I can kill Storm Neos and take that break." Drake told Jasmine and James, "Ugh... But you two don't have it, do you?" He asked, "James... You have Blackwings... Means you got Glow Neos... Jasmine... You used to have Harpies... Odds are Rainbow doesn't know about the switch, so you got Grand Neos." He tried standing up and started swearing profusely, "Red-Eyes Black Dragon Sword." He said, a sword appearing in his hand, which he used as a cane. "I had to be the brother with the FIRE Monsters..." He muttered, "OK, so we have Rayos, Aki, and Eli left with Air, Dark, and Flare Neoses..." He said, "If I were Rainbow Neos, I would have given Air Neos to Eli. A Life Point healer is the perfect counter to Eli's Burn Deck."

"If what you say is true, then Eli wil be awhile. So relax while we wait for him. There is no need to waste your energy right now. Your not in the best condition righ now. Best thing for you to do is relax."

"He's right you know. If you don'trest, you'll never get better. Now just sit down and calm down. They'll be here soon enough." She sat down and patted the ground next to her as if saying, This spots for you, now sit down.

Dark Michi and the Mimic of Doom were laughing, talking about how easily Rayos killed himself and how much of a pussy he was in doing so, when Mimic just keeled over and started suffocating. Aki saw a cloaked figure out Rayos' size, and wondered "Rayos?" before looking back at the Duel Gauntlet. She rushed over to the Gauntlet just as Mimic finally croaked, and felt that the machine was still warm. She held it against her chest, hoping Rayos would appear to her, when the Duel Gauntlet started to open up and transform, sending out tubes, wires, and mechanical claws into Aki, tearing through the syntho-skin she had outside of her delicate machinery inside, and merging with the cyborg. Within a matter of seconds, Aki was encased in a writhing cocoon of robotic parts.

Drake's sword vanished as he staggered over to Jasmine and more or less collapsed next to her, Ugh... That...water... He muttered, getting a bad taste in his mouth, Neos... Heh, healing water my ass... The Red-Eyes Duelist sat up, deciding not to share his realization with the other two, "If... If Eli loses, I want to take on Air Neos." He ejected his Deck and gave it a quick flick of the wrist, spreading it so he could see a small corner of the artwork of each of his cards. He paused for a moment and removed a half dozen cards, flicked his cards together again, pocketed the cards he removed, and replaced them with another six that he pulled out of his other pocket.

"Sounds like a deal, but I don't think Eli will lose. Why else would Red Dragon Archfiend choose him for this catastrophe. You got to have faith in your team mates. But if by chance he does lose, you will be his replacement. But for now relax. We still have time til Rainbow Neos decides to desroy or rule this world." James sat down next to Jasmine and pulled out his deck, looking at the Swallow's Nest from Battlestorm and the Dark Grepher he faced in the Mountains to rescue the Dragunities. Good times...

James got up and looked at his d-wheel. I have to wonder how the rest are doing. I'd figure they would have beaten the other Neos by now. Maybe they're better than we all thought, or at least the last three are. Well, maybe they didn't give up the key. Maybe something happened to them. Maybe they did lose. NO, no they didn't lose, theres no way they could have lost, we're counting on them... James walked back overto Jasmine and sat down, still worrying about the rest of the gang.

"I can only hear one Duel." Drake told the other two, "Aki's Duel ended first, I'm reasonably sure that she won, then Rayos had his Duel, he won that one too... Then..." He sighed, "I'm sorry... Then, Aki betrayed us... She Dueled Rayos and..." He closed his eyes and focused his breathing, "I've already lost my sister, my kid brother, now him..." His eyes were shimmering when he opened them, "Aki murdered Rayos..." He closed his fist, "What room did he go into?" He asked, forcing himself to his feet, "Eli's still Dueling right now, so we still have a shot, but we've just dropped from four Signers to two." He sighed and stopped at the door with a hole the size of Rayos' shoe where the doorknob should be, "Kid always knew how to make an entrance..." Drake muttered, staggering into Dark Neos's room and shutting the door behind him, "Volcanic Shell, weld the door shut... I'm not leaving this room, but neither is Rayos' traitorous b@#$% of a girlfriend."

Michi appeared in front of Drake, seeming normal. "Oh, thank goodness you're here! I was getting worried that someone wouldn't be able to help me! Aki managed to kill my friend, and now she's gone into some sort of mechanical cocoon. I would love to remove her from existence for killing all of those people, but she has a very powerful force field around herself, protecting her precious, defenseless body while it changes into some sort of implement of destruction. Would you be willing to try to get through?"

Itsu grimaced as she watched this unfold.

Rayos' twin, however, appeared next to Itsu and smirked evilly, "I'm sorry, but you're not going to be going anywhere." He told her, "My other self learned a few tricks from Bryce about interference fields, so I'll just lock you out of the universe until Aki's transformation is complete."

 

Drake held onto the wall and winced in pain, "OK, so, your best friend murdered her boyfriend, correct?" The Red-Eyes Duelist asked, "So, what did you do? Did you help Rayos, or did you instead side with her?" He looked around, his vision blurring with pain, "Where's Neos... Rayos was Dueling either Dark or Flare Neos... Where is he?"

Michi was suddenly conflicted as she finally realized what she had become. Neos had manipulated her into being something she wanted to destroy. She was no better off than the Aliens that had taken her family from her.

"I-" Michi started, ready to confess, but the dark side of her refused to die that easily.

"AAAAAHHHH!!!!!" The Pathfinder screamed as she clutched her head in agony. Shadowy fog started swirling around her and wrapped her in the darkness as she shifted back into her Dark Neos hybrid form.

"You've been asking too many questions, my friend!" The demented monster ordered Drake. "Now, destroy the one who killed Rayos, or I will destroy you!"

At this, a small gear on the outside of the cocoon fell off.

Drake nodded and drew five cards from his Deck, "I activate the Spell Card Red-Eyes Transmigration, fusing the Red-Eyes Black Dragon in my hand with myself!" Drake roared in pain as he transformed into Lord of the Red, "Now, by Removing from Play one Red-Eyes Black Dragon in my Graveyard, I can equip myself with the Red-Eyes Black Dragon Sword!" a large draconian black blade appeared in Drake's hand, "Ya know, you really should have rephrased your sentence a little." He placed his blade next to Michi's throat, on her shoulder, "Aki would never kill Rayos. Those two were in love. You're the one that killed him, so die you little b@#$%." And with that, he delivered one clean horizontal sweep of his blade, intending to decapitate the girl.

Just then, the cocoon exploded into a flash of light, allowing Michi the distraction she needed to sidestep the attack, as something emerged from where the cocoon once lay.

Aki now had a body that appeared to be one half porcelain doll, one half armored robot, and one half angel. Her body was mostly covered in porcelain-colored plates, with metallic pink armor attached on around her breasts, pelvis, shoulders, thighs, and lower appendages. Her joints were made of shiny parts that coincidentally looked like they were made from the same metal as Rayos' Duel Gauntlet. Her hair was now the same shade of pink as her armor, and was styled the same as one of Akiza's other 'dos. Her irises were now a bright orange, though they appeared to shift colors based on the lighting. She also had two large mechanical wings on her back that looked like a combination of a bird's and a butterfly's. She examined her new body, and smiled.

"This is...wonderful..."

"You have the absolute worst timing..." Drake muttered, not seeming to notice Aki's new form since he was, after all, covered in armor resembling his signature Monster, "I was just about to kill this murdering little b@#$% until you woke up and let her get away." He sighed and made sure that the sole exit was welded shut, "OK, no way out. Come here, b@#$%, you killed my best friend, prepare to die." He charged towards Michi, dragging the sword on the ground, and delivered a diagonal slash aimed to slice Michi in half from hip to shoulder.

But Aki intervened and projected a force field in front of Michi, protecting her.

"Drake, I refuse to let you avenge Rayos. That is not what he would want."

"Come on! Kill me! Make me pay!"

"If you kill her, you are no better than she is."

"I made your best friend kill himself! And boy, it was glorious watching him scream in agony!"

[Blackstone Dresden]

"Rayos never really talked about me, did he?" Drake asked, breaking through Aki's shield, "I'm already a murderer, I know I'm no better than she is, and I know it's not what Rayos would want, but I don't care. It's what I want, and, more importantly, James needs Dark Neos's key so that either you or Jasmine can destroy Chaos Neos." He gripped Michi by the throat, "So, will you tell me where the key is and die quickly, or should I drag this out?" He asked, "Please, please resist, I want to make you suffer. I don't like when I kill someone quickly, there's no fun in that." He grinned, made even more malicious by his draconian armor, and tossed the girl into the wall, "I'm a lot like you in that way, I guess. Jasmine and the Signers, they're good people, me, I'm just a monster aimed in the right direction. I'm sure James, Rayos, and Aki all held back when they were Dueling you and your friends, keeping them alive. Heh, me? The only reason Aqua Dolphin's still around is because he visited NEX and I'm psychically drained."

Michi turned into the shadowy fog that surrounded the room, and escaped Drake's clutches while Aki came over to treat Drake's very obvious injuries.

"Hold still. She isn't going anywhere."

"What are you waiting for?!? Come and get me you armored coward!!!"

"Honestly, can't you tell when she's baiting you? Now, let's see...you have some broken ribs, a badly burnt arm, and some nerve damage. Plus, you appear to be poisoned. Not too bad, but you will die if you don't receive medical attention soon, like right now. Do you want me to heal you?"

[Blackstone Dresden]

"When that b@#$% dies, I'll let you try." Drake said, shoving Aki out of the way, "Red-Eyes Darkness Dragon, come out!" He shouted as a black armored dragon appeared in front of him, "Now then, just start burning the fog until you kill her. Darkness Giga Flame!" He shouted, visibly weakening from calling out such a high leveled Monster, "I don't care that she's baiting me," Drake told her, "If she wasn't, she'd be dead by now. Also, if you came out of that damn pod a half second later, I would have been able to avenge your boyfriend." He held up his hand, a miniature fireball appearing in it, and threw it into the fog, "Fog's gotta dissipate sometime, nothing you can do to stop that." He taunted, "Miserable little coward, you know you can't defeat me in a straight fight, so you're reduced to hiding. Is this the power Rainbow Neos gave you? The ability to hide like the worthless child you are? You're pathetic. You sold out your family and your best friend, for what?" He lobbed three fireballs into the fog, "The fact that you haven't killed yourself by now is just proof that, even before Rainbow Neos, you were always just a miserable heartless b@#$%."

Aki calmly walked over to one side of the room, waited a few seconds, then reached her right arm into the fog, grabbed something, and pulled out a very shocked Dark Michi.

"Hey! What are you doing?!?" Michi cried out as Aki's left arm reconfigured into a dueling apparatus, complete with deck. A card popped out, and a small mechanical arm held it up in front of Michi.

"This should clear things up."

The card, a Spell Card depicting the opposite of Polymerization, started to glow as it consumed Michi in a beam of light.

"NOOO!!!"

The creature then split into two beings, one female and humanoid, the other bestial and feline. Once the De-Fusion was complete, Aki quickly grabbed an unconscious Michi before Dark Panther tried to swipe at the defenseless girl.

"Hey, Drake. See the pretty kitty? He's all yours."

[Blackstone Dresden]

"OK, that's it." Drake muttered, slicing and dicing Dark Panther to shreds, "Aki, there is no way in HELL I'm gonna be Rayos' best man anymore." Darkness Dragon and his sword both vanished, along with his wings and tail, "Mainly because this crazy ass b@#%$ is a leading contender for your maid-of-honor, and it would be my duty to come onto her and, no offense to whatever the Hell it is that you two have going, I don't go cross-species." He took a breath and activated one of the cards he drew previously, "Darkness Approaches sets Lord of the Red face-down..." He muttered, his armor vanishing from sight, "OK, when we get out of this bull@#$%, we're all gonna find the nearest bar that I can still legally enter, and we're all gonna get drunk out of our minds, because I'm feeling hungover anyway."

Aki set Michi down, and went over to Drake, gently catching him and allowing him to lie down on the floor of the room. "No offense, but I don't think Michi is old enough to drink, and I personally have no idea what alcohol will do to me. I don't even know if I have a digestive system anymore." She checked Drake over again, and her lower arms started to shift into various medical utensils. "And my lovely new tool chucks can now put Inspector Gadget to shame. Joy." A small arm extended out and injected something into Drake's neck as Aki started to cut into Drake. "Now what I just injected you with was a powerful, fast-acting combination paralytic-anesthetic serum. It will nullify the pain and keep you paralyzed enough so that you can still breathe and talk, but not interfere with the procedure by moving too much. You still have muscle control from the neck up, so please, talk to me while I work."

Drake smirked, "You're half cyborg, half Rayos." He told Aki, "I'm assuming you could eat before, and I know Rayos can eat, so I'm assuming you can get drunk. As for Michi..." He focused his eyes into empty space and a fireball appeared three feet in front of him, "I can do $#!+ like that with my mind. If the bartender really wants to card Michi, I'll give him a fireworks show." He groaned in pain as Aki started working on him, "Obviously whatever the Hell that damn water was spiked with isn't agreeing with whatever you injected in me. Hurry up, this is starting to burn, and when I'm complaining about something burning, something's wrong."

Aki wondered. "That's strange. You shouldn't have any burning sensation at all."

"He's been poisoned, you imbecile!"

Michi crawled over to the duo.

"It's one of Venominaga's poisons, which are usually used by high-level assassins. This one's a doozy, taking away your life force and inflicting pain based on your sins. Whoever injected the poison into you probably wants you dead, but luckily, I have a general antidote for Venom-based poisons."

"Why do you have that?"

"Part of a back-up plan to torture Rayos. Mimic would swallow some poisons, and Rayos would go nuts as the Mimic would seem to die, unaware that the Mimic had already ingested the antidote as well, and was simply feeling the side-effects of the poison. In hindsight, it was a pretty stupid idea."

Michi held out the antidote, and Aki reached for it, only for Michi to pull back.

"I thought you said you were going to give us the antidote."

"On one condition."

"What?"

"Kill me, and add me to your Deck."
