"Oh, haha, why hello there Mr. Akaima!" Dan exclaimed as he shook his hand. "Oh and that duel board. Well I tricked it out a little bit. I haven't use it in such a long time, but basically there's a wire on the side here which I can connect to my duel disk and use it for turbo dueling." Dan explained as he showed the wire to Quai. "I've spent about a thousand bucks on this thing. It probably doesn't look like it, but I'm kinda good with technology. Although I try not to show it." Dan stated. "Anyways, I wonder what we should do in order to get Elliot's memories back?" Dan asked while placing his hand on his chin. "Don't you guys know any hocus pocus magical spells that'll help? Or Kaiba, don't you have any fancy machine to help?" Dan asked curiously.

"(He's that good with technology, but the best he can do to find a person is dress like them...)" Donovyn thought while Elliot finished his speech. "What, oh, uh, well..." he began, being jerked out of his mesmerized state by being directly addressed, "Righ, um, *clears throat* well, Kaiba Corp mainly focuses on Dueling Tech, as you know, and well, memory retrieval is decades beyond anyone's technology at the moment." he explained, finally being able to gather his thoughts. Quai, on the other hand, at the mention of "Hocus Pocus" walked over to Elliot, and stared him right in the eye, himself wide-eyed. He moved his finger in front of Elliot's eyes, and then clapped his hands right in front of Elliot's face after several seconds. "Quai, what in the world are you doing?" Donovyn asked, startled by the loud clap. "Trying to help." "..."

"Aw man....... And I thought Kiba Corp was all that......... I guess you guys don't have enough money for investing in memory recovering devices......." Dan stated as he comically lowered his body. He then rose up again and noticed Quai doing something weird towards Elliot. "Wow, do you really have magic?" Dan asked from afar. Elliot was confused by what's happening. "Hehe, what are you trying to accomplish from this Mr. Akaima? I don't think it's gonna help very much. (This day keeps getting weirder and weirder........ Oh boy, I wonder what it was like when I was at the academy........)" Elliot thought to himself. "Umm, are you sure you know what you're doing?" Elliot asked while giving a nervous smile.

"Nope, no magic." Quai and Donovyn said at the same time. Quai staring straight into Elliots eyes the same way he had been, moving his finger from side to side slowly, then up and down. "Just follow it with your eyes, Elliot." Quai said, just loud enough for only Elliot to hear him. His breaths were slow, quiet, and rhythmic. Donovyn sat there with his face in one hand, chuckling. "Dan, just let him do whatever it is he's doing. Trying to stop him would be like trying to bake a cake with a rock."

Elliot did as Quai told him to and followed Quai's finger. "Umm, I don't think anything's happening." Elliot said while still following the finger with his eyes. "(This not going to help at all. But I just can't tell him no......... Well this is quite bothersome........)" Elliot thought to himself. Dan then turned and face Donovyn. "Bake a cake with a rock? Then that means stopping him would be easy. But of course I'm not gonna stop him. Anyways, I can tell you a great cake recipe that involves rocks if you wanna know Kaiba." Dan stated with a friendly smile. "If we can't retrieve Elliot's memories this way, then maybe we should try shock therapy." Dan proclaimed. "WHAT?! SHOCK THERAPY?!" Elliot asked scaredly.

Quai suddenly clapped his hands less than an inch from Elliots face, quite loudly and quite fast. "Should have seen that coming, Elliot." Donovyn said, smiling and shaking his head as he watched. "Dan, what in the world is wrong with you? I've never heard of anyone baking a cake with a rock. Then again, I'd never heard of black marshmallows, either, before this year..." Quai then looked at Donovyn. "Black Marshmallows? Seriously, they make those?" "It would seem they do. Pretty decent too, I tried one."

"Huh? What was the idea of all that for?!" Elliot asked, confused by what had just happened. "All that time, are you just messing with me?!" Elliot asked frustratingly. "{Sigh} Never mind....... I'll just get my memories back another way then......." Elliot said as he dropped his head in hopelessness. "There's always shock therapy." Dan proclaimed while holding a steel helmet with wires attached to the top of it. "What the?! No way!!!" Elliot exclaimed. "Eh, oh well........" Dan then turned to Donovyn to explain what he meant. "Umm, I don't mean by using a rock as an ingredient. I meant by using the rock to build a cooker. I use it to make my famous Grilled Cake!!!!" Dan exclaimed excitingly. "And Black Marshmallows, that sounds delish!" Dan stated happily.

Jazeth was walking away from his favorite prize, The frozen crystal encasing Eva. "Well, I would keep you as bait, but it seems I'm already being attacked." he began unsheathing his sword and pointed it towards the Ice Statue, but in a flash of light a loud clang is heard. "I knew you would get here.....took you long enough though, were you really trying to get a dramatic finish uncle?"

 

Josep stood up and sheathed his sword he looked over at Jazeth. "I would say that this would be one of my greatest duels...but your not your father..."

 

"Shut up! I will do what he failed to do! I will crush you and take your soul for Onaga!" His Duel Blade activated as Josep brought out his own duel disk, it was a very very old Battle City Duel Disk, it was dusty and it looked like it wouldn't work but Josep was very certain about it. "This is my first duel disk, I salvaged the parts when I was young, and I try to keep it nice...but lately...I've been neglecting it for the white gold duel disk....I've decided to leave that one...." He activates it and his golden aura begins to glow.

 

"I will crush you!!!!!" His dark aura grows as well

"Well, Elliot, I was thinking that maybe the shock of the clap would help," Quai answered. Donovyn facepalmed himself. "You are perhaps the craziest person I know, Quai. At the very least, you're in the running." he said after several seconds. "So, anyone who's not mental got any suggestions?" he finished up. "Hey, I'm not mental, and either way, what else can we do, at least I tried something." "That's true enough, but still, did you really expect that that would work?" "Well, actually, I kinda did."

"I'll go first!" Jazeth shouted as the force of his draw caused the ground to begin twisting in a spiral form. "Now then, I summon my Vortex Guardian - Agrias! i'll set two cards and end!" The black angel appears and unsheathes his two swords and points them towards Josep and his duel disk.

 

Josep smiles as the familiar beast appears. "I remember him....he caused quite some damage.....Draw!" with his draw the ground also spirals into the ground. "I have to say, you're power is impressive, and mine is weakening, so this is gonna be heavy I set a card and I summon Mystic Guardian - Maxine! Then I set a card, Maxine! rush forward into the horizon! Defeat the Dark angel that stands before us!" Maxine raises her spear and points at Agrias as the Dark angel raises his blade, the auras of Jazeth and Josep both begin to glow in accordance to their monsters

 

"Don't let that weakling get the beast of you! your power can easily surpass hers! But don't think I don't know about your monsters effect! I'll make sure you take damage as well I pay 200 LP to decrease Maxine's Attack to 1700! (Jazeth's LP:7800) Kill her as well!"

 

Agrias rushes forward and strikes down with his first blade only to have the blade blocked by the staff of Maxine's spear, as she is about to pull back Agrias plunges his second sword into her stomach as the blade reaches the other side she gasps, Josep does as well. "You did good Maxine....we'll get through it next time......as you know Jazeth, Maxine never goes down alone!" The spear head falls off and lands in Maxine's hand, she looks at Agrias and thrusts the spear head into his throat, both just stand still until their cards are removed from the duel disks and both disappear in a flash of broken particles.

 

"Heh.....that was one hell of a first move...your pretty good...I set one card and I'll end my turn." Josep said as he wiped some blood from his lip, he had felt all the pain that Maxine had felt, and he was already struggling.

Zack stated "I feel like something is going down back on Duel Academy Island...... feels dark...... and bright...... might be wrong, but we can't take that chance!" Zack yelled "Ok, if you're ready get on the chopper!" Zack demanded, pointing at the chopper "Elliot, you ready now?" "(He'd better..... or I'd have to come back for him....... I have no time for that......)" Zack thought.

"I know what you mean, I can feel it as well.....what are we waiting for! let's get going!" she runs to the copter and looks towards the direction of the island, she can't tell what it is, but she can feel a very powerful duel happening, a Duel between two master-class duelists. "What is going on over there?"

“Your not really living up to your name uncle, are you getting tired in your old age?” Jazeth taunted as he drew his card, the Spiral shape on the ground grew larger and went deeper into the ground, Now then, I think I’ll start out by summoning my Vortex Guardian - Maelbor! Then I can also special summon my Vortex Guardian - Zakret!” A demon appears in front of Jazeth, his face is blacked out but the flames around him light up his body scars and claws, the second demon has a bandana over his eyes colored a deep violet with blood stains on the tip, he has two wings covered in the same cloth, wearing a shroud reaching the ground, as if his wings and clothes were a sentient being. “Now then, I’ll have both my monsters attack you Zakret attacks first!”

 

The Dark Shrouded demon slithers forward and releases it sword, he points it at Josep and slices Josep’s Chest. “Ah! Damn…..that would have hurt if it weren’t for my face-down, I’ll activate Rainbow Life, now then thanks to that, I discard a card, and all damage I take this turn becomes health!” Josep’s Aura begins spiraling on the ground again, the attack heals up instantly . (Josep’s LP=10100) “Heh, LP gain age is fun…wouldn’t you say? Of course all of your effects cost LP instead….” He looks at Jazeth’s face-downs and begins to worry. “The fact that he didn’t activate those cards means that they’re either not spell and trap negation cards…or they’re his special Traps….either way, I’ll just have to hope for the best in my turn.” Thanks to the energy flux in the healing process, he begins getting younger again.

 

“Very well….looks like you really are the one with the supposed Fountain of youth ability…..how does it make you feel? Knowing your life will never be like your friends…..you hold what I want…and you don’t even want it…so just lose and make it easy on yourself.”

 

Josep sighs. “You really are just like your father…that’s too bad, you could have been more….” He draws, yet again the Spiral increases in power, Now then, I summon My Mystic Guardian Tomoyo! Then, I’ll activate Malevolent Nuzzler to increase her attack by 700, Tomoyo! Attack Zakret! Tomoyo unsheathes her sword and points it towards Zakret, who in turn also brings out his own sword, both clash in the middle of the arena, for a short while Zakret has the upper hand, tossing Tomoyo towards the wall of the spiritual arena, she looks up injured until the Spell card completely activates, tossing her the dark pendant. She grabs it mid-air and places it on her neck, and while it tainted the glow of her sword she smiled as she could control it’s darkness.

 

Once again she goes forward and slashes once more the blade Zakret had could no longer hold back and she began taking him down. “Not only that, Tomoyo can attack a second monster if she destroys a first monster, and believe me, Zakret won’t survive this!” Tomoyo breaks Zakret’s Sword only to be stopped by Maelbor’s claw, both monsters begin overpowering her, but she pushes back and slices them both in half. (Jazeth’s LP: 5800)

 

“Yes, you really are impressive now…..but Maelbor’s secondary effect activates!” as the upper half of Maelbor’s body disintegrates he throws a fire blast towards Josep going past Tomoyo, she looks back, worried about Josep who simply stands and takes the attack head on. “AHHHH!”(Josep’s LP=9600) he falls down and looks back with an ‘I’m okay’ smile towards Tomoyo, who sighs in relief. “All right, I set a card, and end….”

I have a feeling we won't have enough time to land......)" Zack thought "Jake, start the chopper!" "Right on!" Jake responded while turning starting the helicopter "You guys coming?" Jake asked, he was at the cockpit, but loud enough for the others to hear......

Elliot was confused by what's happening. He wanted to leave, but he knew it wasn't time for him to go yet. "I'm sorry you guys....... but I haven't cleared things here yet....... Go on ahead, when I'm ready, I'll give you guys a call......" Elliot said in a sad tone. Dan ran over to Elliot and pat him on the shoulder. "Don't worry Ell, one day we'll all be a team again. Just take your time." Dan stated as he gave a friendly smile. Dan then made his way over towards the chopper and got onto it. "Well Kaiba, ya coming or what?!" Dan yelled out. "Alright you guys, whatever is happening on the island, we'll face it together. Haha, that sounds like something a main character from a show would say!" Dan exclaimed cheerfully.

“Seeing as I’m losing, it looks like I’ll have to really bring up some damage this turn, I draw! Now then, I think I’ll summon my Vortex Guardian - Meilin, Then I’ll activate my all powerful Field Spell, the Gateway to the Vortex, with this on the field all cards on the field are destroyed, including my two face downs. Vortex Imp trap and Vortex Assassin trap not only that, Meilin’s effect is activated and I can remove from play 1 card on your side of the field so say good by to Tomoyo!”

 

The small girl raises her hand, a tear begins to crawl across the rood of the arena and a Huge Scythe from another dimension comes forth, soon after a Gigantic Demon steps forth and allows Meilin to stand atop it’s head, she gives it a command and it uses it’s scythe to swipe at Tomoyo, who jumps on it’s arm. The Vortex appears and everything begins disappearing, including Jazeth’s traps. “Now then, as my two traps are destroyed Vortex Imp causes 1000 damage to your LP!” a small Imp appears and rushes towards Josep and slashes his chest, in reaction Josep begins coughing more blood (Josep’s LP:8600).

 

Tomoyo looks back, afraid that her master may be hurt, but as she does Meilin brings out a smaller Scythe and impales her from behind. “T…Tomoyo!” Josep shouts as the small girl smiles wickedly and tosses Tomoyo into the Dimension her beast came from, but as the Vortex Opens wide she laughs as her and her beast are dragged into the Dark Dimension, “Hah! Now as Meilin is destroyed you take 1000 damage and I take 500” (Josep’s LP:7600/Jazeth’s LP: 5300)the only card remaining is Jazeth’s final Trap.

 

“Now then, my last card activates, you see, as my Assassin Trap is destroyed, I’m allowed to special summon a Vortex Guardian from my grave with 2000 or less attack, now, It can’t attack, but you will take damage equal to it’s Attack so I choose Agrias!” (ATK:1800) The Dark angel reappears on the field and swipes at Josep with his two blades, who falls on the ground unmoving.(Josep’s LP:5800)

 

“Damn…that hurt pretty bad, haven’t been dropped on the ground like that in quite a while…” he stands up and wipes the dirt off of his duel disk, but all the real damage has really ruined his cloak. “Looks like I don’t need this anymore. “He tears off what remained of his cloak to reveal he was wearing his old Slifer Red uniform, and in his younger form, it was as if Jazeth was dueling against the young Josep. “all righty then! Time to get this on, he draws and the force causes the amount of spirals to increase around the two, there were now 6 circles surrounding them, and the elements were beginning to appear. “Okay, now then I summon Mystic Guardian - Auron!(ATK:2000) then, I’ll end my turn.”

 

Jazeth laughs. “very anticlimactic….only 1 monster and you won’t even attack? Oh well, It’s what I expect from someone who hasn’t used their Spirit energy in so long.” He looks at the circles around him. “What are you planning anyway?”

This card cannot be activated unless you control 1 or more "Vortex Guardian" monster on the field. When this card is activated Destroy all cards on the field except this one. You cannot summon a monster the turn you activate this card. Once per turn when a "Vortex Guardian" is sent to the Graveyard, you can activate one of the following effects:

*Destroy 1 card on the field.

*Send 2 cards from your hand to the Graveyard and draw 2 cards.

*Randomly select 1 card in your opponents hand and remove it from play.

*Inflict 1000 points of damage to your opponent's Life Points and 500 points of damage to your Life Points.

"Donovyn..... sorry but we're going to have to leave you behind....." Zack explained with a sorry expression on his face "We can't wait anymore...... Jake...... take us back to duel academy island, oh wait." Zack stated as he got off the helicopter and handed two cards to Elliot "Those cards might not go with your deck, but they're powerful." Zack explained "Don't worry if that's what you're thinking, I have more copies of those cards." Zack explained while getting on the helicopter "Ok Jake, let's go...." "Right on Zack." Jake stated while flying the helicopter into the air, and heading down to Duel Academy Island "(We won't have enough time to land.....)" Zack thought.

“My turn!” Jazeth draws a card and another circle appears around both duelists “I don’t know what your planning with this circle….but you won’t have the time to complete it I summon my Vortex Guardian - Tori! Then, I’ll Synch her with my Agrias!” the clouds turn black, and the ground is also beginning to tremble. "The Dark Lord will rise once again in a flash of Lightning, Your Soul will soon be the Tribute, Rise Vortex Guardian Hametsu!" The Dark Soldier appears on the field and unsheathes his masamune. “now then, Hametsu destroy his Auron!” Hametsu rushes forward and slashes at Auron, Auron attempts to block but he easily trespassed his defenses and impales him through his back.(Josep’s LP:4300)

 

“GAHHHH!” Josep yells as he feels himself being pierced through as well, he falls on his knee again but he holds his gut, as he looks at his hand he can see that he’s beginning to bleed from a cut that never happened to him. “Man, I really have no luck today….do I….” He stands up and looks at Jazeth’s field, his vision is getting blurred.

 

“Well then, I will set 1 card and I’ll end my turn now.” Hametsu laughs as he watches Josep try to draw his next card. “all righty then….gotta make this count! DRAW! Now then, I set 1 card…..then I’ll activate my Parallel World Greed! With this I remove from play 3 monsters in my grave (Auron, Tomoyo, Maxine) to draw 2 cards now then I will activate Summoning Light of the Mystic! Now then, since you control a monster with 3000 attack I pay half of my Life Points so I can special summon 5 cards from my deck(Josep‘s LP:2150), now then I summon Mystic Guardians Sasha(1000), Nikita(1700), Shirayuki(1800), Shizune(1600), and Rising Zensaki(1500), however non of my cards can attack, so I’ll set one card and end my turn!”

 

“Yes…this is the duelist I wanted to face, the one that became the World Champion, the one my father faced.” he looks at the field and then at Josep, he was injured, but the thing was, he seemed to have injuries that he himself had not imposed on him. “what is this…..did someone else injure him before me? Is that why his spirit is so weak? …..who messed with my plan….argh!”

Donovyn watched as Zack took off in the Helicopter. "Any reason you opted to stay, sir?" Quai asked. "Yes, it doesn't seem that we've done everything we need to here. Not only that, but I won't be much help if I did go." Quai looked, and nodded, "We need you to rest right now, and it would be safer for you to do so here." Donovyn looked up to the sky. "My place isn't far," Quai said, "you'll be safe to rest there. The sun was nearly set when they reached Quai's place, and walked into the living room, where Quai helped Donovyn lay back on the couch, where Donovyn drifted off to sleep.

Zack hopped on his runner, and opened the hatch while they were over the island, where they could just barely see Jazeth and someone else "Only enough room on my runner for one more, who wants to get down the fastest?" Zack had to yell because of the sound of the helicopter blades and the sound of the wind "Hurry up, I think I see Jazeth down there..... he's the one with the dark aura I feel! The other one has a bright golden aura.... that..... feels..... familiar from somewhere...... wait! That bright golden aura! I-it's Josep's!" Zack yelled, recognizing the aura from their duel.

"What! Dad!" she hops on and puts on a helmet. "hurry on up down there, we have to get to my dad's duel...." she was worried and she knew now why she couldn't talk to her duel spirits, they were still combined to Josep's spirit at the moment. "Zensaki...Rei...please, protect my father" she prays as the white and pink spirits rush over to Josep's Deck.

 

"huh....no way....well, looks like my face down won't be a bluff after all....this should be good." he watches as Jazeth was still thinking to himself. "Zensaki....Rei...with your help, the symbol should be able to complete itself."

"Ok, hang on!" Zack yelled while reving up his engine and zooming down "(I'm just glad I'm not a kid anymore, I'd be yelling: 'Super Zack to the rescue! Well, at least those days are over...)" Zack thought while landing just beside the duel, almost spinning out of control due to bumps "Was that to rough of a landing?" Zack asked Kimi while taking off his helmet and getting off his runner "That was close to spinning out of control....."

"Does it matter?" she says as she gets off and tries to get closer just to be pushed back by the shield surrounding the two duelists. "what the....I can't get in....this shield....I've never felt anything like it before" she stands up and notices that she's lost a significant amount of energy. "That shield drained my aura?"

 

Josep looks up and sees that Kimi is near, "not good...I thought I felt a familiar aura....if she gets to close, the seal will drain her of energy....I have to let this end quickly...."

"Actually yes, it does matter because well either A: serious injury or B:...... Well, you get the point, right?" Zack asked "Don't get to close to the barrier "(I need to keep her mind off of getting closer to the duel)" Zack thought "Kimi! Whatever you do! Do not get to close to the barrier!" Zack yelled "(Oh great going Zack, you just probably just got her to try to get closer to the duel.)" Zack thought while face-palming himself.

"Your not helping Zack...." she stated as she looked at the field, she saw the monster known as Hametsu. "That...that card right there...that's the one that's been causing all our problems...that one is Hametsu." she snarls as she punches the barrier shocking her yet again. "ahh!" she looks at her father in his slifer red outfit and the fact that even though he was injured, he was still smiling. "Why daddy? what are you trying to prove?"

"Stupid brain, stupid!" Zack stated while getting on his knees and slamming his head into the ground "(What are you doing Zack! Wait! I know what will get her mind off of it!)" Zack thought while getting off the ground "Kimi! I challenge you to a duel!" Zack stated "(Well, that should keep her mind off of it.)" Zack thought "(I just hope Josep thinks the same way................)" Zack thought.
