As Iyusaka continued to rest up on a building, a maroon cero wave was headed towards the Seireitei buildings. "What?! A cero?!" Iyusaka said surprised by the sheer size of it. Quickly, Iyusaka shunpo'd up high into the air, dodging the attack. "Whoever made that cero must be highly skilled. Although, that should've probably taken a lot from them." Iyusaka said to himself as he stared at the passing cero.

"I hope the other captains are okay. But of course, I wouldn't worry too much about the other captains considering their speed. However, I am worry about the people who live in the outskirts of the Soul Society. They were the ones who haven't been evacuated yet." Iyusaka then looked towards the Sōkyoku Hill. "I wonder if the blast came from there? If it was then I better go check it out." Iyusaka said to himself as he continues to stare in the direction of the Sōkyoku Hill.

"What the hell!?" Sayori almost yelled when she felt a familiar reiatsu explode. It was that damn Espada, Sven again. She glared wishing she had went into Bankai earlier, so she could take him out, but she just had to underestimate him. Sorry Yomi-san, but I have to help those who weren't evacuated yet. Knowing that Monoroki would still spread her protection to Yomi, she quickly Shunpo'd to the cloest area. One the way there she felt Iyusaka's Reiatsu close by so took a quick detour.

"Iyusaka-taicho! I could use your help with securing the residents. There's going to be a lot of work to be done." She looked back towards the Northern gate. "Yomi-san is handeling a bount right now....I think he'll be fine. At least he better be."

Those were her last words before continuing to one of the damaged areas, to see both Shinigami and the residents scrambling about. From the wide range of damage done, the she and the 4th division was going to have their hands full, because while the 4th division captain was away she would help them out, seeing as she had some knowladge in healing.

"You all stop scrambling around like idiots, and get these people out of here! Transport them to the 4th division barraks immediately!"

Some of the Shinigami there jumped at Sayori's raised voice, surprised as she hardly ever raises her voice. "You!," She pointed to a group of Shinigami who were running past her, "Go to the 4th division and get any Shinigami that they can spare! Then head to my division, I want them here helping as well!"

"Yes, Captain Kuchiki!"

She stopped two of them as they were about to leave, "Wait, I want you two to find any injured Shinigami and get them out now. We can't afford to loose any!" Especially not now.

"You four come with me!! The rest of you spread out and try to put out these fires!" Her fist clenched in anger. First Hollows, then bounts, and now this. What ever is going on it looks like we captains are going to be stretched thin for a while.

"Well... s&*t," Jun Fon muttered as he looked around; even with the illumination provided by his Shunko, he could barely see. Add the fact that A) His opponent had just become virtually undetectable by anything, and B) He'd felt a gigantic burst in reiatsu, and the ambient energy it gave off felt like an arrancar's, one could say that he was more than nervous. Immediately bending down into a stance that was clearly meant for counterattacking. Closing his nearly-useless eyes, he concentrated on calming himself down: he began to brethe more slowly, and blocked out everything else. All he heard was lis own gradually-slowing heartbeat. "Well," he started out, eyes still shut. "Looks like you've been able to counter everything I've thrown at you, huh? Speaking of tricks, arrancar-teme, can I have my tonfa back? I kinda need it to kick your ass." Well, when stalling, why not made banter with your opponent? Hopefully he could distract him long enough for someone to get him out. But he didn't really want to be saved like that. No, he wanted to beat this guy on his own. It had been a bit too long since he'd fought someone this strong, and he could barely restrain his excitement.

NAto could not believe what he had seen. As he was close to death, almost, the spokeperson of the 46th Chamber - Raizou - was the one who saved him from the Arrancar. It was kind of embarrassing to have a person of a lower rank than Captain to save his life from an Arrancar, but if he had not done it, then his life would have been gone since long now. He simply nodded and took up his Zanpakuto, the staff briefly surging with lightning as he picked it up.

"Raizou! I want you to have something very clear." he said in a cold voice, but fixed himself on the gap of attack that he had given him at Muertos Grande. "I didn't become a Captain just because I am powerful enough, or that I successfully reached Bankai......" he aimed the staff towards the Arrancar's chest, which was the blind spot Raizou had unveiled. "I'm doing it because I am going to avenge my family! And even if I am grateful for your help in this situation, I kindly ask you to not interfere with me anymore! I have my reasons for fighting!" with this, he charghed towards Muertos Grande, his spear held forwards. "This is it!" he exclaimed, and drove the spear deep into the Arrancar's body.

Awhile later after the cero has passed, Sayori appeared before Iyusaka and asked him to help with the evacuation of citizens of the Soul Society. Before Iyusaka could respond however, Sayori had already shunpo'd away. "Uh, I've never seen Cpt. Kuchiki so determined before. Well, I guess in situations like these, people could change easily." Iyusaka said to himself as shunpo'd to the ground.

Iyusaka then started to walk around the destroyed buildings, examining every little detail. "Good thing this area has already been evacuated, or else............" Iyusaka then became silent. "Just like........ No, I have to forget about the pass." Iyusaka said to himself as he continued to examine the buildings. "It doesn't seem like that cero was an ordinary cero, could it have been from a modified hollow? Or maybe something even stronger?" Iyusaka thought deeply. He then shunpo'd away........

Sven watched them all scurrying along trying to escape the dangers. He gave a laugh as he watched the chaos unfold. "Well, I'm going to sit here and continue to refresh myself of reiatsu while I watch before I do another attack. That way if a Captain comes again, I'll be fully capable of handling myself like the last one," he said to himself. He looked up into the night sky, remembering the times of when he was an adjuchas strolling through the white desert alone. 'Those were good times. When no one could bother you,' he thought.

From within the darkened cage, Muertos Doble's glowing eyes suddenly flickered to life, eyeing Jun Fon with glee. He made hissing and clanging sounds, clearly trying to distract the shinigami captain. He even laughed hard when the captain asked for his tonfa back.

"Shinigami, this is where your life ends." the Arrancar remarked, his glowing white eyes disappearing back into the darkness.

The inside of the cage lit up suddenly, revealing an expanding ring of energy-based nova, slowly engulfing the inside of the cage. The nova cackled with energy and it disintegrated the ground it touches. It hissed violently as it headed towards Jun Fon. The nova is big enough to touch the roof of the cage, and wide enough to touch both ends of the cage.

"When that touches you, shinigami, we will truly know how strong you are." Muertos Doble laughed, hissing loudly.

------------------------------------------------------------

Nato's spear punctured Muertos Grande's midsection cleanly, impaling him. The glowing yellow eyes flickered and died almost instantly. A loud hissing noise started to sound from the wound, and the Arrancar's body started to shake violent. Dark clouds started to encircle the wound area, disintegrating his entire torso, then gradually destroying his arms, and legs, until finally the head portion was completely eradicated.

Raizou turned his head around to see if the Arrancar was somewhere else, but he did not see him. He gave sigh of relief as he turned towards Nato, remembering what the shinigami captain just said to him.

"Captain Sanketsu, I will take that as thanks. Before you go lashing out at me with words, I would have you know, I didn't come here to save you. I came here to save Seireitei first and foremost, not you." Raizou remarked intensely, wiping his eyes with a white cloth.

As he finished his sentence, a mass of black cloud swirled behind him, forming a human-shaped object. It cackled and fizzled until it reformed Muertos Grande's body. As the final cloud reformed into the quarterstaff, the yellow glowing eyes flickered back to life, looking rather pleased. As he reformed, he kicked Raizou from behind, sending the spokesperson careening towards the gate, hitting it with such force that the gate shook violently, but stood still.

"That was pretty impressive, shinigami. I thought I was too late to reform," Muertos Grande lift his arms and revealed a massive wound on his mid section, right where the spear was driven. It fizzled and boiled, but it doesn't seem to affect the Arrancar too much, "Wounded as I may be, I am still capable of fighting. That moron earlier managed to one-up me because of the element of surprise. But now, that won't happen."

He pointed the tip of his quarterstaff at Nato, a black mass of energy swirling at the tip. It cackled and surged, causing loose rocks and soil to rise up. Muertos Grande's eyes lit up with intensity as the energy condensed.

"Cero de Medianoche" Muertos Grande mistily said, sending a cloud-like cero towards Nato speedily.

As the Cero travelled towards its target, the Arrancar used sonido to get above the shinigami captain, executing a sweeping attack from above, aiming for Nato's head, and preventing the shinigami to evade left, right, or above.

Yomi held out his earthen barrier rather well, despite the ball of flame surging forward bit by bit, incinerating the layers of the wall. He glanced sideways to see Sayori go away, heading somewhere else. At the same time, he felt a large reiatsu go off from somewhere inside Seireitei.

"What? Are there more bounts inside Seireitei aside from these two?" Yomi remarked, reinforcing the wall with another thick layer of earthen slab. He closed his eyes, trying to formulate his next move. After a few moments, he finally know what to do.

Yomi brought his hands down, letting the fireball consume the wall, then punched the ground with the blunt tip of the scythe, causing reiatsu to flow out.

"Tsuchikago, the first hour." He shouted.

Rectangular slabs of earth erected outwards, forming an octagonal cage around the fireball, then covering the top portion in a thick, and flat octagonal piece of earth, sealing the cage. It wasn't long after the cage was completed that the fireball broke through the initial earthen wall, and now hits the walls of Tsuchikago.

"That should hold it long enough. Tsuchikago cannot be destroyed from the inside that easily." Yomi said, then he eyed Reinhardt, who seemed intent on making the fireball break through the cage.

He used shunpo to close the distance between him and the Bount, kicking Reinhardt with force as he landed near him. He then brought his two hands together, closing them tightly on each other.

"Shokyoku, Shiryu!" Yomi shouted, causing spiritual fabrics to cover Reinhardt from head to toe, stopping him in mid-air.

"Nikyoku, Hyakurensan!" Yomi shouted, point his left index and middle finger at Reinhardt, causing numerous metal bolts to cascade down onto the spiritual fabric, bringing Reinhardt to the ground, and pinning him securely.

Reinhardt struggle to free himself from the binding fabric. Steam was venting out of the spiritual fabric as he squirmed and tried forcing his way out. Yomi shook his head, stretching his right hand upward, pointing his right index and middle finger on the empty space directly above the fabric.

"Shukyoku, Bankin Taiho!" Yomi shouted, conjuring a massive metal cube, and bringing it down using his outstretched fingers, hitting Reinhardt hard, then exclaiming, "Bakudo #99, Bankin. Completed!"

Yomi immediately turned around to see the fireball inside the cage gradually getting smaller until it was extinguished completely. He brought down the cage slowly.

"Now, where to?" He remarked, looking around him.

Akiyama sprinted faster than he knew was possible over to Yomi. He needed some answers, as in what the hell is going on?

Akiyama hadn't been at the meeting or the subsequent engagements at the gate because he'd gone straight back to the Third Division base as soon as his third seat, whom he'd remotely contacted through Kido, arrived to stand guard over the Hormigas until Akiyama returned. The messenger sent to call Akiyama to the meeting had instead gone to the third seat, and the messenger and the third seat didn't get to Akiyama in time for him to attend the meeting. It was their arrival that had brought Akiyama outside, at which point he noticed the Reiatsu fluctuations of battle that he hadn't noticed while training inside. He had sprinted to Yomi first, as the North Gate was closest to the Third Division base.

Akiyama brought himself to a halt just as he reached Yomi. Out of breath and a bit nervous, though he didn't think it showed, he asked, "Yomi, what happened? Why are we under attack?"

Yomi sheathed his zanpakutou in time as he saw Captain Akiyama made his way towards him. He glanced a bit towards Reinhardt, the bount who was unfortunate enough to experience Bankin's full power first hand. He dusted himself off as soon as Akiyama stopped right in front of him, looking rather out of breathe and nervous.

"Ah. Akiyama-san, you've been well I see," Yomi dusted off the last part of his clothing, then securing his zanpakutou in place, "We're under siege from two factions so far. One is fairly obvious, the Arrancars. They've brought several strong people around. Just a while ago, there was an Espada here in the northern gate, but he disappeared."

A sudden look of seriousness is clearly visible across Yomi's face.

"And then, there's also the matter of bounts," Yomi pointed towards an object pinned by a massive metal cube wrapped in spiritual cloths, secured by several metal bolts, "That one is particularly powerful enough. I barely managed to contain him using Bakudo #99. Had he been at full power, I don't think Bankin would've been able to stop him completely. Just before you arrived, a sudden spike of reiatsu erupted somewhere in Seireitei, and I was just about to check it out. I would like to request something from you."

Yomi turned his head towards the Eastern Gate, where a constant fluctuations of reiatsu has been going off since the battle started.

"Would you kindly check on the status of Nato-san and Jun Fon-san at the eastern gates? I have a dreadful feeling about them. Its as if death himself has made his presence known to the both of them. I sure hope I'm wrong with that." Yomi said, a dark and worried expression visible across his face.

"Captain!" One of the Shinigami that Sayori sent to get reinforcments said, "The 4th Division can't spare any shinigami! Everyone in there is already busy with healing, and as for your squad they've already started helping at the other destruction sites!"

Sayori didn't look up from her work of healing four residents at once, but nodded to let him know she heard him. "Alright...Thank you." She paused before standing up, and motioning for the the other Shinigami in the room to take the ones she just healed away.

They were able to find a safe place to heal a few citizens that were too gravely injured to be transported right away. So for the past 30 minutes she had been healing non stop, and from how the healing process is becomeing longer, they could see the toll it was taking on her.

Even though she was tired, Sayori knew she would just have to brave it out, "Ok, this district has been more or less taken under control. At least the fires are gone..."

She motioned for two Shinigami that were closest to her. "I need of you two inform Yomi-san, and Iyusaka-Taicho that this area has been handled. The other Shinigami here should be able to handle the rest here. I'll be heading to another part to help out." Sayori thought she senced another energy with Yomi. It felt familiar, but she couldn't remember who it was. "They do say memory is the first to- Captain Akiyama!" She remember at the last minute. After taking one last look around she Shunpo'd away.

Yomi bid Captain Akiyama farewell, and prepared to depart from is spot when a shinigami from the 6th Division appeared in front of him. The shinigami looked battered from work and a look of stress is clearly visible across his face.

"Yes? You seemed troubled," Yomi glanced on the insignia embedded on the left sleeve of the shinigami, "You're from Captain Kuchiki's division. What happened?"

The shinigami explained the current situation inside Seireitei, and as the report progressed, Yomi's eyes widened. He certainly did not anticipate the situation to become extremely dire. He flicked his fingers, and the entire 13th Division appeared before him, all wearing the distinct insignia of a summer snowflake embedded on the left sleeves of their shinigami uniforms. The division filled the middle lane in front of the Northern Gate, all looking towards Captain Yomi.

"My brothers and sisters, Seireitei is in need of our division's support. I hereby postpone all scouting and patrol duties of our division, and order you all to help out in the safeguarding of Seireitei. Evacuate any non-combat oriented members, rally the combat-oriented members you find, and protect any healing-oriented shinigami you come across. If you find enemies, contact me immediately. DO NOT ENGAGE THEM AT ALL COST," He let the his words sink in for a bit, then he stared at this division, "GO!"

As he finished his statement, the shinigamis in front of him disappeared as quickly as they came. Yomi then gave a deep sigh as he made his way towards the tallest structure he could find.

What is happening to Seireitei? Are the Bounts and Arrancars allied with each other? If they are, this could prove more problematic than I've anticipated. Yomi thought to himself, shaking his head left to right.

'OH MY GOD!' Jun Fon thought in both terror and anticipation as he saw the gigantic ring of reiatsu beginning to expand. Judging from the disintegrated ground, that could be real trouble. "Looks like I'll have to use that." He got down in a stance with his right arm pointing towards the ever-approaching ring, and a golden flame began to make its way up his body. "Congrats, arrancar-san, you're going to witness a move that almost no one has ever seen before." Soon the flame was making its way up his body, rolling off of it like steam. "Arrancar-san..." he said, the flame now engulfing his whole body. "If we both survive this, let's have a rematch someday." He began to pour nearly all his reishi into his right hand. "RRRRAAAAAHHHH!!" He reared his arm, which was now the focus of virtually all his spiritual pressure. "RED LOTUS PHOENIX SWORD!!!" He charged at top speed towards the expanding ring and met it head on with his fist.

What happened after that, you ask? Well...

KABOOOOMMM! If one was to zoom out of the fight, they would see the black dome begin to crack, then just exploded in a flash of light. When the light subsided, it revealed a bloody, bruised, and alive Jun Fon. Rising from the gigantic crater he had created, he shunpo'd out and began slowly limping towards the 4th division. He clutched his right arm, which he had lost all feeling in, he was lucky it hadn't blown his arm clean off. 'Gotta... get... help...' he thought as he began to slowly make his way towards help, coughing up blood in a mad fit.

While making her way to help the other parts of the destroyed Seireitei, she noticed a massive explosion of reitsu from the eastern gate. "Is that...Jun Fon..." She muttered stopping on one of the buildings as the bright light slowly died down. Her eyes widened when she couldn't feel his reitsu anymore. "Don't tell me-!" She quickly Shunpo'd over to the area, a huge wave of relief flowing over her when she could just make out his spiritual pressure. Seconds later she saw him walking, more like limping, away from his battle.

Sayori quickly shunpo'd down in front of him, immediatly helping him by supporting his weight. Quite surprisingly considering her size compared to his. "Jun Fon-Taicho, hold on. I'll help you right away."

Sayori sat him down carefully, quickly assessing his damage. "I'm going to need you to relax." She said gently before concentraiting. Soon a light green dome encased Jun Fon healing his wounds.

His injuries are worse than I expected.... She though as her eye sight slowly began to waver. "You were in some battle." She smiled lightly, trying to brighten the atmosphere a bit. Sayori was sure that the stress of what's happened today was clearly shown on her face.

"I'm glad I found you when I did...The 4th division is stretched thin as it is..." Sayori's voice was faltering the longer she tried to heal Jun Fon.

Sven felt the massive reiatsu explode and decease. 'Hmm, interesting,' he thought. Since he was concentrated on the area he felt the reitasu of the Captain he fought earlier. "I see someone has gotten themselves to be better," he said to himself mused, "Well I think it's time I find another Captain and have a bit more fun before I leave." He used a sonido to appear in front of the building where numerous reiatsu's were condensing. It happened to be where the injured were being held and tended to. "This will be much fun," he said as he opened his mouth. A small purple cero began forming in his mouth. Then he blasted it out into the building, continously for 10 seconds without letting up in size or power. It was about the size of the cero he used on the gate earlier, making it very effective. When he was finished he closed his mouth and laughed at the wreckage. "Well I should walk out while they are busy," he said with a smirk and began to head to the western gate.
Cero Viga

Cero Viga (lit. Is a variation of cero that was made for continuous use. It can be fired for ten seconds straight without any loss in power or size. The power and size of this cero depends upon the user.

From right in front of Jun Fon and Sayori, a black mass of cloud suddenly gathered, a human figure standing in the middle. The figure clearly has several limbs missing from his body, the left arm, his right leg, and a portion of his neck. One of the figure's white glowing eyes is flickering in and out of existence, and the other one looking rather angry.

"Ugh. That idiot really destroyed the cage, regardless of my warnings," Muertos Doble remarked, clutching his armless left shoulder, "now he sustains greater injuries because of that. What a useless sacrifice. He could've just died painlessly."

He noticed Sayori trying to heal the wounded captain. His glowing white eyes suddenly narrowed down towards Sayori.

"Interference. I hate interference." He remarked, pointing one of the sword breakers towards Sayori. A black mass of reiatsu forms at the tip of the weapon, glowing bigger and bigger, the core having a sinister black energy surround by a layer of white. It condensed bigger and bigger.

"Cero de Medianoche." Muertos Doble muttered, releasing the condensed energy towards the two shinigami captain.

The Cero travelled at a much faster rate, giving the two captains no time to dodge. If it hits them it would be all over and there would be far greater damage.

Suddenly, a tall figure appeared between them and the Cero. He wore a battered trench coat, and he has long, flowing black hair. He held two hands out front, both glowing red. He turned towards Sayori and Jun Fon, revealing his identity. It was none other than Raizou. His lower lip was bleeding, and he has dirt all over his face.

"This is not your time," The Cero hit Raizou's palms squarely, pushing him back, but he held his ground, "Seireitei needs you for protection. I am not saving you two. I am saving Seireitei. Farewell."

Raizou shouted loudly as he subdued the Cero with his two hands. The energy clash was very cataclysmic, sending bolts of energy all around the field. Raizou held his ground very adamantly as he tried to douse the Cero with all his might, finally reducing its size inch by inch, until finally, he managed to extinguish it completely.

"Fool." Muertos Dobe coughed, trying to stand straight.

Raizou's body collapsed in on itself. His injuries were too great already, and he has used his final strength to keep Jun Fon and Sayori alive. His eyes were whited out as he fall to the ground gradually. He sank to his knees, then his body slowly hit the ground, landing with a soft thud. His gloves were burned out and his arms were severely burnt. His trench coat was intact, but his shirt was obliterated, revealing massive burns on his body.

"Your friend is a fool. Cero de Medianoche is not a simple----" Muertos Doble's sentence was cut off with a cough. He can barely stand and is struggling very hard. That Cero he fired contained nearly all his remaining reiatsu. He sank to one knee, coughing really hard. He stabbed his sword breaker to the ground for support as he coughed even more.
OOC]

Don't kill Muertos Doble. You can attack him though, but you can't kill him.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Yomi arrived in time as the structure where Sven unleashed a barrage of Cero was about to collapse in on the victims. He held out his zanpakutou on one hand and shouting, "Shatter the Earth, Tatsu no Koku!"

As he released, he immediately palmed down towards the earth, erecting massive, cylindrical earthen pillars, prevent the entire structure on collapsing in on itself. He thrust his brown scythe down the ground, and made several seals on the air using his hands before thrusting them on the ground again.

"Kyousei Chikyuu Tengai!" Yomi shouted.

The earth around the collapsing structure suddenly erected a dome like structure, sheltering the injured and the 4th Division members safely. He smiled briefly at the relieved workers and survivors before turning once again towards the outer side, just in time to see Sven go away.

"So it was an Arrancar after all." Yomi sighed as he surveyed the nearby areas. He felt a familiar reiatsu dying out from over at the Eastern Gate. He felt a dreadful feeling as he felt the gradual disappearance of the familiar reiatsu. There was a certain pain in his emotions as the reiatsu completely died out.

"What's happening over at the Eastern Gate? Just now, that reiatsu. It can't be." He remarked sadly, an expression of loneliness clearly visible across his face.

"I'm sorry," Jun Fon muttered, seeing Sayori's already low energy start to decrease as he simultaneously felt her reiatsu levels begin to decrease. "I'm sorry you had to use your energy on me, take a break, Sayori, I don't think I'll be goi-" And then he felt it; his eyes widened as both he and Sayori felt a huge reiatsu overwhelming a cluster of smaller reiatsu. 'For the love of Susano'o, please don't let that be what I think it is. Unfortunately for him, it was. Ten seconds later, the giant spiritual pressure subsided, but he also felt a familiar reishi, and could sense most of the cluster. But to his dismay, the arrancar he had just fought, apparently still alive but maimed, had arrived and was about to kill them with a cero when Raizou of the Central 46 saved them.

He then had to watch as one of the men who had vouched for his induction as the new captain of Squad Two died. Grunting, he began to rise, his body screaming in protest. Swallowing his fury for the time being, he began limping up to the very being that had attempted to kill him a no more than a minute ago, stopping just in front of him. Jun Fon looked at the coughing... creature, for lack of a better term, in front of him menacingly before raising his hand and... pointed to his right. "Do you remember, arrancar-san...?" he asked weakly, his voice barely above a mumble. "When I was inside that dome, I said that if we were both survived that explosion we would have a rematch someday; today isn't that day, I don't have enough energy to fight and you're half-dead. Leave now, and I'll do everything in my power to make sure we can have that rematch."

Even if Sayori had time to reply to Jun Fon, she wouldn't have hand the energy. When the spokesperson for chamber 49 saved them, she was surprised and it was obvious he was in a battle before hand. Even though that was the first time she had met him, she still felt a bit sad when his reaistsu wasn't around anymor. True he said he wasn't saving us, but the Seireitei instead, she was still grateful for his sacrifice.

The huge arrancar began cough violently, obviously on his last leg as well. Sayori didn't know how Jun Fon was standing, because it felt like her whole body was nailed to the ground. She couldn't move a single muscle.

I shouldn't have tried to heal Jun Fon...I can't even move now...

Sayori was slowly fading in and out of consciousness. Her reiatsu was just too low. Coming straight from a mission to this chaos was finally catching up to her. She couldn't go out just yet though, I need to make sure Jun Fon and I make it to the 4th division....Or at least to the small shelter we made...

She tried to stand once again, only to collasp weakly on the ground.

Akiyama's stats:

Offense 10/10

Defense: 10/10

Strength: 8/10

Speed/Dexterity: 10/10

Intelligence: 10/10

Kido: 9/10

Spiritual Pressure: 8/10

Total: 65/70

Akiyama whirled to face the East Gate, breaking into what must've been the hundredth desperate Shunpo sprint that day. His legs argued with him for a moment, but he overpowered his momentary exhaustion, chiding himself for laziness. Akiyama set off into a sprint, and was halfway to the gate when the Cero Medianoche went off. Akiyama was far enough away that the blast wave didn't do more than ruffle his hair a bit, but he angled his run so that he would end behind the source of the massive blast.

As the energy dissipated, Akiyama was close enough to make out the details of the scene before him. The Second Division Captain, Jun, was severely injured. He looked like he'd just been in a fist-fight with the Captain-Commander on a bad day, to put it lightly. Sayori, the Kuchiki girl, was tending to Jun's wounds. A man in a trench coat lay on the ground. As Akiyama drew nearer, he found that it was actually a corpse in a trench coat, and a horrifically burnt one at that.

The perpetrator of this devastation, an Arrancar in a black hood, knelt on a single knee with his sword in the ground. As Akiyama sprinted towards him, he began muttering. "Bankai: Kensei no Ni-Ten."

Akiyama's Bankai was released in a bright flash of Reiatsu, five golden symbol-emblazoned rings floating behind him. The Earth Ring floated at the top, and Akiyama used its powers to change his standard Bankai form, a Daisho (Katana and Wakizashi), to a Kyoketsu Shoge.

Akiyama skidded to a halt four feet behind the Arrancar, whipping the weapon's chain towards him. He wrapped the ten-foot chain around his foe's neck several times. Not taking any chances, he also impaled the Arrancar's downed calf with a rock spike.

Akiyama's assistant captain once told him that his 'angry voice' was so chilly and menacing it could give a Menos nightmares. It was in this tone that he spoke now. "You severely injured one of my closest friends, the Second Division Captain. You killed one of his allies. And because of your damned meddling, I'll be behind on my Naginata training for days. If you want to live for more than three more seconds, you will stay completely still."

Muertos Doble found himself in a precarious and dangerous situation as Akiyama subdued him with his bankai. His flickering white glowing eyes narrowed down on the new arrival captain, looking rather annoyed. He tried to move, but his stamina was already drained. He doesn't even have an ounce of energy left. He glanced towards his twin brother, Muertos Grande, who seemed to also have retained quite a wound along the midsection. He gave one last hissing sound before his left eye completely faded out its glow, leaving only his white eyes glowing.

"You're one lucky shinigami." the Arrancar remarked, losing his grip on his sword breaker.

Suddenly, the earth between Akiyama and Muertos Doble shook violently. After a few seconds, a massive, crystalline spike coated in organic-liquid substance erupted from the ground, dislodging the chain around the Arrancar's neck, and pushing both combatants aside. Muertos Doble's leg was severed completely, rendering him legless, while Akiyama was pushed as far back as Sayori and Jun Fon's position.

"You are well beyond yourself, shinigami."

El Higante appeared in front of Muertos Doble, his claws coated in crystal-like spikes. His body is oozing with brown, organic substance covered in a metallic layer that resembled some sort of medieval armor. His four small eyes stared at Akiyama, while his large, central eye is closed. His mouth curved into a thin smile.

"I'm afraid you cannot take the life of my comrade yet. Zasalamel-dono prohibits it." El Higante remarked, slamming his claws on the ground.

"Empalar Cristales" He muttered.

A wave of crystal spikes suddenly erupted from the ground, heading towards Akiyama, Jun Fon, and Sayori. The spikes were massive enough, towering over 20 feet in the air, and are hard enough because of the reiatsu El Higante has imbued within them. It was also fast enough.

Meanwhile, as El Higante was channeling his attack, a streak of white flashed from somewhere above the Eastern Gate. It traveled towards Muertos Doble, hitting him squarely on the forehead. El Higante turned towards him, looking surprised. He saw a shining white arrow body protruding from the forehead of his ally. It shone like a bright flashlight, then it dispersed, leaving Muertos Doble dead.

There was a shocked expression on El Higante's face, but he maintained his composure, erecting an organic-liquid like substance around him.

"Bastard. Who did that?" He muttered to himself, keeping his attack on Akiyama and the two other shinigami.

Sayori's eyes widened as El Higante's attack came towards her and Jun Fon. Both of them were already too weak to defend, so the only chance they would have is if they were so dodge. I just have to get the angle right. Sayori concentraited what little energy she had then opened her hand away from her and Jun Fon. She was hoping to use the kido to as a push to get her and Jun Fon out of he way.

Let's hope this works

"Hado 58:....TenRen." A large tornado of wind shot from her hands, the force pushing her back and colliding right into Jun Fon, getting both of them out of the way seconds before El Higante's attack hit were we were just standing.

She grunted when she hit Jun Fon, landing on him. "S-sorry..." She was just able to mumble before rolling off of him and closing her eyes.

" 's okay,"Jun Fon grunted as Sayori slowly made her way off of him. He slowly stood up, using his left hand as support. Inspecting his injuries, he mentally noted that some of them were healed, and he was able to make a fist with his right hand, but he still couldn't feel anything with it. "Come on..." he muttered to the female captain, grabbing her hand and gently lifting her to her feet. "We've still got to get to the Fourth Division." He turned to his friend. "Akiyama, think you can hold them off until I get back?" He asked, fully intent on coming back after he got healed. It was then that he realized that he left his zanpakuto a good ten yards back, where the crater was. Damn, now he'd have to rely on kido to defend himself.

Sayori hadn't even acknowladged Jun Fon's words, and was by now working on auto pilot. She was leaning completely on Jun Fon desperatly trying to call upon any left over Reiatsu to make it too get some help. "Jun Fon....There is...a shelter close by....4th division...too far.....away..." She wasn't even sure if he was able to hear him. Akiyama was the only captain here that would have any chance at defeating El Higante. From how the male captain beside her was speaking it was apparent he intended to come back.

As Jun Fon and Sayori moved out of the Eastern Gate Area, two streaks of light appeared out of nowhere just as they had entered the Eastern Seireitei District. It shot from somewhere above the Easter Wall, the same point of origin of the white arrow that killed Muertos Doble. On the path before Jun Fon and Sayori, two gleaming white arrows punctured the ground. They glowed brightly under the darkened night skies of Soul Society, as if ominously saying something.

The skies cleared just in time, revealing the full moon. Its light granted anyone looking at the top of the Eastern Wall to see a figure in white clothing. He wore a distinctly different outfit than an Arrancar, and definitely not one of the shinigamis. His middle-length, flowing dark-blue hair sways along with the wind as he holds a massive, gleaming white longbow that looked like a crescent moon. He disappeared in a blur, then reappearing in front of the two captains. As he reappeared, he stared at Jun Fon and Sayori with soft blue eyes, and his pale skin is clearly visible. On his left hand, he was clutching Jun Fon's zanpakutou that has reverted to its unreleased form.

"Shinigami," Saren said casually, gently throwing towards Jun Fon his zanpakutou, "I believe that is yours. Take it."

As he threw the zanpakutou, he aimed three shots towards the ground Jun Fon was standing on, his blue eyes staring at them. His attack was fast enough that it was blurry to an average observer. Aimed his bow again at the two shinigami.

"Take your zanpakutou and defend yourself. I will make sure you end up like that Arrancar earlier," Saren drew a Seele Schneider from his satchel, placing it along the bow, "I am Saren Kushinada, and you shinigamis, along with the Arrancars, are my quarry."

"God dammit..." Jun Fon cursed as he kicked the airborne blade into the air by the hilt where it planted itself into the ground, clearly exasperated. "Gimme a second," he said, walking to a nearby wall, his limp now barely visible. He placed Sayori against the vertex of the wall, making sure she took up as little space as possible in case Sarin decided to be a complete bastard and tried to kill her instead. Jogging back to face Sarin, he lifted his sword off the ground using his left arm. "Listen, Quincy-san, I really don't want to fight you... yet. I'd rather get fully healed first before fighting you..." He trailed off, seeing that negotiating wouldn't work on him. "Looks like I'll have to just make due," he flourished his sword as he chanted the incantation.

"Bite them to death, Karouga!" He was momentarily engulfed in a bright light. When it died down, it revealed him with two tonfa in his hands, the one on his right hanging limply with his useless arm, and the one on the left raised up to guard his face. With a grunt, his muscles tensed, and his tonfa ignited with a crimson red flame to match his hair. "A warning; you'll only be able to kill me if you can hit me. I know quincys, and I know most of your attacks are based on speed. I haven't had a fast-paced fight in a while, so make this interesting for me, okay?"

Saren glanced sideways towards the Sayori, his eyes filled with unexplainable emotions. Its as if his eyes were teary from the battered look of the female shinigami. He quickly turned back to Jun Fon, absorbing his words and the warning the shinigami captain just said. His reddish lips curved into a thin smile. He pocketed his Seele Schneider once again, looking rather indifferent.

"You are a lively one, aren't you, shinigami captain? Don't talk to me about speed," Saren disappeared in a blur, reappearing almost instanly behind Jun Fon, kicking the shinigami captain behind, "You are half dead. If I fight you in full power, you'd die without even knowing what hit you."

Saren then disappeared once again, reappearing on top of a nearby house, his Quincy Bow aimed at Jun Fon. He gave a heavy sigh as he saw a glance of Sayori once again.

"Its good that you laid her down. I wouldn't want her to get injured from our fight," Saren let loose several white streaks of light towards Jun Fon, "And don't underestimate the abilities of my kin."

The arrows travelled extremely fast, way beyond the normal speed of a quincy arrow. Three arrows head towards Jun Fon, while three others head in different place around the captain, ensuring that the only place he can go was forward.

"Let's see how you like being hunted down." Saren remarked darkly.
