How do you gain points...?

You write more than 25 letters per post. You also get points by voting in poles. I don't know how many exactly. There are other ways, I just can't think of them at the moment. :P

also if you win contests some people pay in points... or you could own a shop and people would pay you in points when they buy your stuff... or you couls... umm... well back even before i was on there was a card trade section were you would sell real cards for poitns...

You can also sell things for points (check Shops/Requests)

You can raise by posting, getting donated from someone for someone, like selling something in a shop.
