Solar Version

Somethings to Note....OCG might be off, but I hope not. I'm pretty sure there's at least 1 OCG mistake. I can never be sure. Hope you enjoy it for the most part!
It was a typical morning in Viridian City. The beautiful sun rise was glowing on the tips of the mountains. The sky was just becoming its regular blue with a few wisps of clouds here and there.

Today was a day you couldn't afford to be sick on. It was only a few hours later until you could see kids busy at the parks near Viridian playing with their Pokémon. The sun glowed passionate yellow, spreading its joy that summer was beginning and that school came to an end.

The grownups were busy with their usual work, but were much happier now that they saw the smiling faces of kids playing and shouting. Lawns were being cut and that refreshing cut grass smell could be smelt throughout the suburbs.

Now this is where we meet our main character of this incredible tale. During the beginning of summer, Professor Oak gives out three starters to new trainers beginning their journeys across Kanto. Those three Pokémon are Charmander, Bulbasaur, and Squirtle.

This is why our hero plans on traveling to Pallet Town to begin his journey. However, most trainers start out their adventures at around ten years old. Our hero is seventeen, but he has experience with Pokémon...this is just his first time he thinks he can handle his journey. It’s rather complicated, but I digress…

The door gave a bang as it was pushed away. A kid, seventeen and a half years old came through the door.

"Okay mom! I'm off to Pallet-"

A more concerned and motherly voice interrupted, "Lucas! Don't forget your pack because you’re going to need it!”

"O-oh, yes!"

He came sprinting towards his mother, his short white hair in a mess. She pulled out a comb.

"Did you forget to comb your hair? And your shirt is inside out! Take it off a put it on right. Oh, and now I have to do your hair again...Great, now your glasses are filthy-"

"Mom, that's the way I wanted my hair and my glasses are not filthy!"

"Where's your ID? Did you-"

Lucas withdrew from his pocket a card which was his ID. He stared with a not-so-happy look at his mother for combing his hair way back, revealing his forehead. A sudden bark came from the corner of the door.

"Hey, Growlithe, sorry that I have to leave you here, but mom needs the protection", Lucas said, happy suddenly.

Growlithe gave Lucas a nudge on the leg, meaning it was going to miss him. Lucas bent down to pet it when it gave an excited flamethrower to his head. Lucas did not mind this since he was use to this, but his face became filthy.

"Great!" his mother went, "Now I have to wash your face! I hope you take care of yourself along the way."

He ignored her and continued to pet the happy Growlithe, its tail wagging.

"Now I'm ready", Lucas with his final reply to his faithful Growlithe.

"Be careful dear. I'm going to miss you! And visit on Holidays!"

He waved good bye as he began walking farther from his house. He was walking toward destiny. Lucas, however, doesn’t really believe in destiny. Now he was out of his mother’s sight.

He was already feeling homesick, but he always did. He knew he would make new friends. Or at least, he hoped. The number one thing he wanted was to at least become friends with his Pokémon.

He strolled on the path that would lead him through the grassy hills of Route 1 and onwards to Pallet Town. He noticed all the life that surrounded him. Ratatta could be seen once in a while, feeding on seeds they found in the grass. Pidgey were flying about in the summer air and Spearow were being fierce competing for food in the fields, trying to gobble every seed they found.

Lucas took in a fresh breath of air happy he was beginning his new journey. His sun glasses were on, white hair spiking out, his small black coat over his red under shirt wasn’t too hot, and the rest of him looked fine. Prepared for anything…

That’s when it happened.

Lucas felt something. A small breeze made him stop frozen in his tracks. He heard a small noise that you could only notice if everything else was quiet. The noise kept on ringing in his ears.

It grew louder and louder. He now knew it came from the air. He looked up to see a thin line of cloud above, like if a jet was coming by. Only one problem made this theory a lie: the object was purple. Lucas could barely make it out with the binoculars he pulled out of his pack.

Something even more astonishing happened. A red beam that blurred came running across the sky, crossing the purple objects path. Lucas could obviously tell that the beam was a Flamethrower. So that clarified that the purple object was a Pokémon.

The move did hit the Pokémon, for a darker trail of clouds came following behind it. It began to bend a curve, up and down it went. Eventually, the object was closer to Lucas. As quick as he could blink, the object was even closer.

Lucas became nervous, afraid that the Pokémon might careen into him at high speed impact. He ran behind a nearby rock. Just as he ducked below it-

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!

The Pokémon crashed into the ground with a fiery force. Rocks went flying about. Lucas took his sun glasses off to see what crashed. He only saw smoke from a crater. The smoke began to fade when-

“WELL! Wasn’t that fun! Oh, crap, my wing! I can’t fly with this!”

Lucas was speechless for what he was listening to was a Crobat with goggles on and a dark blue scarf. Its right wing was damaged from that attack. It kept complaining about what just happened.

“-I can’t believe somebody would do this to me! Did you see that? That was an ASSAULT! Well, I shall have, REVENGE! I swear he will have shi-“

That’s when one of the pieces of debris from impact landed on top of its head. Its large eyes twitched as a large lump appeared on its head. Before it fainted, it cried out with its eyes crossed and its other wing in a pointing up gesture: “To the max!”

It lay on the ground like if it were dead. Lucas could not believe what happened. A Pokémon, talking? It wasn’t possible. Or was it?

“I got a lot to learn about Pokémon. Now where did you come from? Oh boy…”

Lucas realized that the attacker was not a very nice one, and was probably in pursuit. A talking Crobat could be worth a lot of money. He decided to take the Crobat with him. He bent down to pick it up, when he noticed an “R” under the wing that got hit. Lucas got big eyed. He knew this meant only one thing: Team Rocket was about.

Lucas stopped for a moment. It might be one of theirs and that flamethrower might have come from Officer Jenny’s own Growlithe. Or it could be something entirely different. Either way, Lucas knew it would be bad to leave it there, so he picked it up and walked faster toward Pallet Town, which he could now see over the horizon…
Lucas was sprinting toward Professor Oak’s lab with the Crobat over his back. He was a bit tired, since sprinting in a hunched position, carrying a Pokémon is no easy task. The Crobat was not very light for a Flying Type.

He ran up the hill toward the lab. The door became bigger and finally-

Ding Dong.

Professor Oak noticed the bell at once, but before he could get up from his desk, a boy yelled out, “Don’t worry professor I’ll go get it!”

Tracey, who was wearing his usual light green shirt, came running for the door. He opened it and saw Lucas.

“Tracey! We got a problem…”

Tracey had known Lucas since they had acquainted many times before to help out Oak at the ranch. He looked at what Lucas had over his back, which was a Crobat with a scarf, goggles and a burnt wing.

“Well that’s odd,” Tracey replied to the situation.”Come on in, we’ll fix that Crobat. Where did you find it at?”

Lucas walked in as Tracey closed the door, his eyes still focused on the, thing.

“Well I was just skipping along the yellow brick road when this Crobat was shot down by a flamethrower and almost careened into me a billion miles per hour! It fainted right there.”

Lucas decided to hold back on the talking part. They kept walking and came to where Professor Oak was and sat the purple Pokémon on another table. They took off the goggles and scarf. That’s when Oak finally noticed what was going on.

“What happened?”

Lucas replied, “Well, this Pokémon was attacked and nearly crashed into me! It was wounded, and you guys were the closes place where I could get help, so…”

Oak got up and walked around his desk. He walked toward the Crobat to see what was wrong. He saw the burnt wing and began to examine it.

“Oh, and another thing,” Lucas said as Tracey and Oak turned to his attention. “The attack was a flamethrower. I didn’t see the Pokémon who did it. It was a very good shot, since Crobat was perhaps 1,000 feet or more up in the sky, flying at high speeds.”

“And one last thing…” Lucas seized the wing to reveal the “R” under it. “What does this mean?”

Tracey got big eyed. Oak continued to examine, but did not ignore Lucas. He said, “Team Rocket.”

Tracey looked at the bat, thinking it might now attack him at any moment. “T-that’s one of Team Rockets?! Lucas! This thing could wake up and attack us, poison us, or worse steal the Pokémon!”

“It’s not one of Team Rocket’s.” said Oak his attention now on the two. “It may be marked with an “R”, but there’s been no record of Team Rocket Pokémon with “R” on them. It would make them too revealing on missions. By that, I mean that if they were found with that “R” that the people would know who they would belong to. It could ruin the burglary.”

Tracey and Lucas were relieved. Tracey said, “Thanks-“

Oak interrupted him, “Except…”

Tracey got wide eyed again.

“Except that Pokémon that had been experimented on have been marked. So this Pokémon had been experimented on. But the only differences I see so far are that it’s a slight bit bigger than a regular Crobat.”

Tracey was now curious about the Pokémon. Lucas was relieved. Now he knew why it would talk, but he hadn’t told them yet…

Professor Oak went to a shelf and reached for a Full Heal. He couldn’t reach it, but before he could ask for assistance, Lucas already had a chair and had boosted himself to get it. He handed it to Oak.

“Thank you Lucas. This should heal Crobat…”

Lucas was already down, the chair back, when Oak turned around. His Running Shoes really did help. Oak reached out for the burnt wing and sprayed the liquid contents of the medicine onto the wing.

“That should do for now. All we can do is wait.”

He sat the Full Heal next to the bat. Tracey was no longer there, He decided to fetch his sketch book. Lucas kept looking at it in wonder. What the heck was this thing?

Tracey came back, smiling with his sketch book. “I still haven’t gotten many sketches on Crobat yet. This is exciting!”

Oak was back in his desk when he said, “I wonder…if that Crobat was experimented on, it should be stronger. But the only thing about it is that it’s a bit longer, but no more. Maybe it’s-“

That’s when it woke up. Its eyes weren’t wide open, it was still sleepy. It put its wing over its eyes to block the bright light of the ceiling lights. As soon as it revealed its wing it fell back to sleep.

Lucas said, after the silence of watching it awake was over, “I should tell you guys that-“

“HOWDY! Well, I was just flying over a whole bologna of trees when they spotted me. I was just up there, minding my own business when I was attacked by a Houndoom…Oh! I shall have REVENGE! Or I’m not wearing…wearing…hey? What you guys do?”

“-it talks…”

Tracey and Professor Oak were speechless, their mouths wide open. They were trying to absorb what had just happened. That’s when Tracey broke the silence.

“Amazing! It talks like an actual person! And quite fluently.” He began sketching it from different angles of the table. The bat was on its two bottom wings, like if they were feet. It looked at Tracey as he went all over the place. It got the idea and began doing different poses.

“Its got character alright.” said Lucas.

“CHARACTER! Hell yeah. I’ve got a Jolly Nature.”

It was a showoff. Then, Oak finally responded after a long pause.

“So that’s what it was experimented on for…”

The Crobat heard Oak and understood. “Yeah! I have this “R” on my now burnt- hey! Somebody fixed it! Or kinda. A bit sloppy. But at least they tried. Anyways, I was experimented on.” It was more serious now. It was ready to tell something.

“So get this; I was a regular Crobat, skipping along the yellow brick road of glory when out of the blue came a bag. I was sent somewhere. A place, that was mainly freakish white and people who wore white suits.

“I was in a cage and was being experimented on. There were others like me. But what happened was quite sad. They tested us, one at a time. Everybody didn’t make it. But I did. Another man walked in after the ‘successful’ surgery took place. He wore the same clothing, but he seemed different. That, and he had a red “R” on him, as well as glasses.

“The man goes, ‘Is this the only successful specimen?’ ‘Yes Expert Nevex, sir.’ This guy examines me and sends me away. I freed myself due to this new strength I possess. But those hideous villains tried to pursue me. I barely escape. And now, him I am…”

The bat looked sort of sad as it looked down, remembering what happened to its kind.

“Team Rocket is behind this?” began Oak. “Their activity is very low these days. Some believe they’ve completely disbanded. But this is more than I can believe. I’ve seen a few Pokémon talk before. But that was either through telekinesis or very rare occurrences…I’ve never heard of one that could talk because it was experimented on…Not saying it’s not possible.”

Professor Oak became worried about what was going on. Tracey stopped sketching for he was listening to Oak. Lucas was also worried about the poor bat, but realized something.

“Team Rocket is after you? If they are, that might make them come here…”

Crobat looked up in alert and said, “No, you think?!”

“This is bad if they come to Pallet Town.” said Tracey. “They could wreck havoc, not to mention the media might come back…” He gave a chilled look. Professor Oak looked at his watch and said to Tracey, “Tracey, I think it’s time to feed the Remoraid. Go and feed them would you?”

“O-oh, yes Professor!” He hurried out of the room, out of sight.

“Oak,” went Lucas, “what are we going to do about the bat?”

“Just let him rest, time will tell us what happens. Now then-“

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!

“Smoke came blasting through breaking windows. Somebody was breaking into the lab. The smoke thickened throughout the room. Oak and Lucas began coughing and covered their mouths with their sleeves.

The smoke eventually faded and in the distance stood two Team Rocket Grunts in normal out fits. One was a man, one was a woman. Their faces were hidden from the caps they wore and the handkerchiefs they wore over their mouths.

Standing next to the was a Pokémon known as Houndoom. Its moth had dark smoke coming from it, its eyes flashed viciously at Lucas and Oak.

While they were gazing at the beast who began to circle them, waiting to attack, the male grunt disappeared. The female was left and said to the Houndoom, “Burn this place down, along with the rest of the filth that get in the way!”

Flames grew in the hounds mouth, but then-

“Marill use Water Gun!”

A blue mouse sprinted on stubby legs through the door and with huge force, squirted the hound with a powerful array of water. The force made the hound skid toward the other side of the room. It got up and growled at its opponent.

“I got what we came for!” said the male who had a bag that was filled to the top with pokéballs. He had in the other hand, the Crobat. He forced it into another bag and sprang for the window. The hound decided to join his retreat, and at the same time as the Houndoom jumped so did the woman.

They fled the scene, but were obviously successful. They had token almost all the Pokémon, except for a few. The Crobat was also gone. Professor Oak could not believe it. Tracey ran back and was stunned. He went back to check on the pokéball room.

“They got away! No! We got to pursue them at all costs!” yelled out Lucas.

“Guys, guys! There’s no need to worry!” yelled a familiar voice.

The Crobat was still here. “How did you-“

“I used Substitute at the last moment. Fools took that false me instead. Why? Because I’m a NINJA!”

“We need to get the Pokémon back, could you-“

“Help? Maybe, maybe I can. I’m a good person and I want revenge on Team Rocket, so, why not?”

It tried to fly, but crashed into the ground. “Um, help?”

Lucas realized that this meant they were going to have to team up. So he lowered his hand and said, “You help, I help you. Deal?”

The Crobat gave a humorous smile.

“Deal!”
“Okay Oak,” said Lucas. “We’ll get the Pokémon back…”

Crobat, on its hind wings like if it were standing, was about as high as their hips were off the ground. It got its goggles and dark blue scarf back. Its eyes were filled with thirst for battle.

“Okay.” said Oak. “I’m afraid we’re tight up here. Tracey can’t accompany you. We need to fix up this place and get everything back in order. Just be careful.”

“Don’t worry Professor! We’ll be back and hopefully with the pokéballs!”

“I wish you the best of luck you two.”

Lucas and Crobat waved back at the lab and were already down the hill. Just as they got down the path, Crobat asked something.

“OKAY! How are we supposed to defeat these guys if they have all those Pokémon and I have a damaged wing?! ” it showed its wing, which was now bandaged. It got on Lucas’ chest its eyes staring into Lucas’ eyes, waiting for an answer. “I hope you have a plan, since if we don’t catch up with them…they’ll catch up with the rest of them. Then we’re screwed.”

It began to shiver at the thought of being caught again. It then looked again. “How?!”

“Very carefully with a lot of butter.” He pushed the Crobat off. It got back up and then began to sit, thinking.

“Butter eh? I sup-“

“Not really!”

“Worst. Plan. Ever.” concluded the purple bat. It turned around to look at the opposite direction, just in time to see Pidgey flying just above them. They were now out of sight. Lucas could tell it wanted and needed to fly, if they ever wanted to get through this.

Lucas knew much about Pokémon and has even been in quite a few official battles, winning sometimes with the Pokémon he got which were selected for you at random. He also knew this Crobat may have skills beyond normal. If they could just work out their kinks and Crobat could heal in time, they could have a chance.

“Wait,” Crobat began, “where did those guys go?”

“Hmmm. Where were you originally? If they are headed back for the main- wait…”

Lucas realized something. In order for Crobat to escape those criminals, it used Substitute. Perhaps…

“Crobat, can you sense where your substitute is?”

Crobats ears bent for this. It then faced Lucas again and said, “Can I? AHA! Let me try to do this…”

It put its left wing to its head. It began to focus. It began to focus even harder…harder…then it opened its eyes and pointed toward the west.

“That is where it currently is. I never thought of that one, or even knew I could do that with Substitute…How do you know so much oh SO great one?”

“I’ve been training for seven years. I’ve been helping Oak for quite a while, time to time. I just never really wanted to go try out the league challenge until now…it’s exciting to start out in Kanto.”

“Kanto?” Crobat replied. “So that’s where we are. See, I live in the Chugo Region. I personally like it much better there.”

“I’ve heard of many Regions, but this one I haven’t heard of. Is there a league there?”

“The league I think is in two regions. Chugo and Shiko are small, so they were both used for the league. But enough chat. We need-“

At the moment, Lucas took Crobat by his good wing and took off the direction he pointed in. In that direction was a mountain. The mountain wasn’t really a mountain; it was more like a really big hill with some cliffs here and there along with trees.

So they continued, Crobat now on Lucas’ shoulder, pointing the way to the lost Pokémon…but at the rate they were going, they may never catch up with the thieves…

It was another fifteen minutes before they reached the small mountain. The path was steep and loose, so they had to be careful. While climbing about fifty feet up the side, Crobat asked, “How far do you think they are by now? I mean, not to be all bitter about the current situation, but…THEY’RE FIFTEEN MINUTES AHEAD OF US!”

The shriek was right in Lucas’ ear, he nearly tripped backwards. If that were to happen, he would fall down to the bottom. That was how steep this hill was.

Crobat continued, “They could be farther. I don’t know, but how could we get more speed, cause I have a burned wing at the moment. I wish-“

“CROBAT!” Lucas yelled as loud as it had. “I have an idea. Your Substitute?”

“Yeah, what about it?”

“Well, you made your Substitute out of the HP you had. It isn’t really you at all, but energy that has shaped to look like you.”

“…Keep going…”

Crobat had its good wing, like an arm, on its chin. It was listening intently to Lucas with sarcastic delight.

“If you think you can…you can release.”

“What? Why do I want to release it?”

“Explosion. Your Substitute.”

“Oh…so my substitute is now a suicide bomber?”

Lucas face palmed. He needed the two of them to cooperate. If they didn’t, the Pokémon would be lost.

“Crobat? Do it!”

Crobat fell to the ground slowly. It was focusing.

“Okay! Here it comes!”

Suddenly, Crobat punched itself. It knocked back into the ground and nearly rolled down the hill. Lucas caught it just in time.

“What happened? It should’ve worked…”

Lucas didn’t understand why it didn’t work, but he spoke to soon. A rumble went through the ground. It was a small short one. Lucas stepped forward so he wouldn’t fall over. Smoke could be seen over the side of the hill. In fact, they were almost up the entire hill, just stopped at around the ledge.

“I told you it would work.” said Crobat.

They continued up the hill. They were only feet away from where it would even out into a plain. They, or rather Lucas because Crobat was on his shoulder, kept on walking up toward the ledge.

They had passed the ledge when they noticed something, or things, on the plain.

They both whispered, “Golem…”

The megaton Pokémon was numerous among here. Their shells that were made of rock were large. Most of them were just lying around, chattering, or eating the dirt. They all seemed calm.

“Look at all of them.” said Lucas. “We need to be careful, because if we startle them too badly, they could flatten us.”

Crobat gulped. It began to shiver as they slowly stepped on the field. The smoke was high in the air now. Team Rocket definitely would notice Crobat was gone now, but would they return?

As soon as they were on top, some of the Golem noticed them. They did nothing, but look for a moment and continued doing their thing. Lucas and Crobat walked normally across, trying to not disturb them.

When they got to the middle of the field, they noticed two familiar figures perched up farther up the plain where an island of land that elevated from there. Lucas did not need to get any closer to know who was up there. It was obviously the Team Rocket criminals. He could tell be there black suits and the fact that they were partially smoldering by the explosion.

The female grunt had a burnt up bag. That was the bag the Substitute was in. However, the male grunt had a smirk for he still had the huge bag of pokéballs over his shoulder. He then yelled:

“So you think you could be sneaky using Substitute, eh?! Well, I’m fascinated that that Crobat could use it in such a way to make an explosion. We were right that it had extraordinary powers! But you are unwise, which is a too lousy weakness for anybody! That is why Team Rocket will lead everyone into a glorious future. But you idiots have to screw with us! So now…”

He withdrew a pokéball from his pocket. He enlarged it to be thrown and did so in the middle of the plain.

“Go! Banette, disrupt the Golem!”

The grey Pokémon with a rotten smile and blazing eyes obeyed. It went high into the air and raised its arms above its head. Shadow like energy grew into a humongous ball above it.

Lucas and Crobat looked at each other. They had the same expression.

Lucas said, “Crobat! I’m going to need you in a moment. It’s about to use a Shadow Ball. But do you want to know what I fear more than if we get hit?”

“First, I can’t fly. Second, whom? The-“

Bannette suddenly looked down and a huge scatter of Shadow Balls came pouring from the huge one. It scattered among the-

“Golem.” said Lucas.

The Golem were hit by the shadowy attacks. They began to run away, trying not to get hit. It was a panic among the Golem. They were bumping into each other, trying to find a way to dodge and not get hurt.

Crobat asked, “Wait…If they attack the Golem, then that will-“

All the Golem began to run in their direction. They were rolling that way uncontrollably, soon to pour down the side of the steep path. There was no way out of this for the two. They would be crushed by the startled Golem. There was only one option: run.

They ran as fast as they could, or at least Lucas was. Crobat was trying to hang on. They went over the side, still running. The Golem began to pour over the side, crushing trees in their path. The speed of the Golem was slightly faster than theirs. Any moment, they would be flattened.

“Lucas,” said Crobat with a serious look, “It has been a pleasure knowing you all these long years…”

“We’ve only known each other for a day! But, I guess it has been a pleasure-“

He noticed a bush up ahead they did not see and broke through it. They were covered in twigs and Lucas was about to stumble from the uneven ground. He noticed a berry in his mouth that he caught in the bush. It was light blue with green leaves attached. While sprinting, he grabbed it.

“It’s a Rawst Berry! This will heal your burn quick Crobat!” he said.

“But it was in your mouth-“

“JUST TAKE-“

He stumbled.

He began falling, but just in time threw Crobat far away with the berry. Lucas came to a halt on his rear. He got up and began to run again, but was exhausted already. The Golem were seconds away from him. There was no escape. Not even if he were to climb a tree, they would simply smash it. He looked behind him to see the Golem only feet away, a second from death. He closed his eyes. Perhaps he could jump-

He was lifted from the ground. The Golem had already knocked him off the ground. Then he realized he was still going up. It was Crobat.

“NANANANANANANANANA CROBAT MAN!”

Lucas was relieved of what just happened. The bandage around Crobats arm was off. In fact, the burn was fading away as he saw the effects of the Rawst Berry happen before him. They kept flying higher and were eventually quite high above the plain the Golem were at.

“Gosh, Lucas, you need to lose weight!” said Crobat as it let Lucas back on the Golemless plain.

The two grunts were still there, thinking they were finished. In fact, the two were having lunch. The two of them both sprayed wine all over each other from the shock of them returning.

“How- oh duh…Crobat thing. But your w-“

“ING ATTACK!” yelled Lucas.

“With pleasure…”

The purple bats wings glowed as it dived for the two and destroyed their picnic. It also grabbed the pokéballs with its teeth and flew back to Lucas.

“Okay we got them back. But, how about we finish them?”

Crobat said, “Like we’ve always done?”

“Um…yeah, like we’ve always done. “

Then, both grunts got out their Pokémon, Houndoom and Banette, and were thirsty for battle. Crobat and Lucas had the same look.

“Crobat-“

“Yeah my brother?”

“Okay, wait.”

“But I want to fight!”

Just then the two grunts made their Pokémon attack. Banette used Shadow Ball and Houndoom used Flamethrower. The two attacks came ferociously toward Lucas and Crobat at the same speed.

“Use Whirlwind to blast those moves!”

“I see…”

Crobat began to spin, fast. It created a forceful wind around it and blast it toward the attacks. The attacks collided. But the two attacks from the grunts spun inside. Crobat was still connected to it, creating it to become more powerful.

“Release it!”

Crobat stopped spinning and at the same time, the whirlwind blasted into the two other Pokémon with a huge force. The two Pokémon knocked back into the cliff behind them, nearly fainted, but still there.

The male grunted yelled, “OKAY! We’ve got to do it! A dead bat is better than a bat that got away. Ready?”

The female grunt replied, “Yes…”

They both yelled, “HYPER BEAM!!!”

Both Pokémon began to charge huge amount of power. It was going to be released at any moment.

“Crobat! Can you use that move too?”

“Better than that son!”

Crobat began charging as well. The Team Rocket Pokémon both let out huge amounts of energy in the form of a beam. It was coming fast. It strike. Lucas just barely dodged it. Crobat did too. It flew above the beams and then gave a humongous roar:

“IMA FIRIN MA LAZER! BLARGH!”

The hugest Hyper Beam Lucas ever saw came out of Crobat and plowed through the two opposing Pokémon and lifted them into their masters. The thugs were knocked back. As soon as they tried to get up, Crobat came flying at a high speeds, wings glowing. It cried:
“TO THE MAX!!!”

It was such a force as it hit the thugs that a huge explosion could be seen from Oak’s lab. The thugs were flying across the sky and cried, “Looks like we’re blasting off!”

A star came upon the last known spot where they were seen. It was a solid victory. The battle was done, they had the pokéballs back with them, and they even heard a familiar noise. It was the Golem, walking up the cliff back to their plain. They were pleased that their field was back. It was Lucas’ and Crobats first victory. They both gave each other a high five.

“Well done you two!” said Professor Oak as he got the pokéballs back. The lab was even being repaired by workers from the blast those thugs did. It was almost complete, except there was still noise being made from the hammers being pounded. This is why Oak talked to Lucas in a different room.

“I almost forgot!” as he opened the door to this room. Three pokéballs were on a table.

“It’s time to choose.”

“Professor” said Lucas, “this Crobat-“

“You want to take MEE!?” cried a familiar purple Pokémon. It flew right on to Lucas’ shoulders. “I could get use to sitting here. Though, your shoulders are quite bony.”

“What the bat said.”

“Very well, but it’ll need a pokéball.”

“I don’t want to be in a-“

“You don’t have to, it’s just in case.”

“Fine…”

“Lucas”, asked Oak, “why did you change your mind. Besides the fact that Crobat trusts you.”

“It mentioned some region called Chugo.”

“Yes! That place is quite far away from here. I know a student, another Professor like me, who lives there now. The league there is in two regions for the regions Chugo and Shiko are quite small. So they were grouped together. Now then, if you want to go there, that would actually be excellent, for I was going to have Tracey run an errand. He was to deliver this-“

Oak withdrew a pokéball from the shelf. It had a label on it that had yellow symbols on it. It was odd looking, for it looked really old.

“-pokéball. It is unknown what’s inside it, or if there is anything. In Shiko is where Dr. Willow is. She lives in Windmill Town.

“Now, before anything else, I’ll give you an upgraded pokédex. Species that are very rare here in Kanto live in Chugo-Shiko. Some only live there.”

Oak got out a red mechanical like book with black lines on it. It was an upgraded pokédex. Lucas took it with delight. Crobat was dazzled with how shiny it was.

“And the last things are five pokéballs and this pass to the boat you’ll be riding there. Before you go, you’ll have to tell your mother good bye…”

Lucas and Crobat were set for the adventure of a lifetime. They would go on to an entirely new place where Pokémon they never heard of. Maybe they’ll find out about a lot of stuff, like more about Crobat itself. Crobat looked at Lucas. Lucas looked at Crobat. They faced the door and opened it.

They stepped forth on the path to a new adventure…

To be continued…

If you're taking character suggestions, I've got one for ya... I'll PM it to ya, if you'd like. But, before I do, I've gotta ask; is this soley Pokemon, or would you be okay with a slight crossover (nothing major, just a detail) into "Yu-Gi-Oh!"? If not, that's fine, but, either way, lemme know. Thanks!
