Industrial Metal is by far one of the greatest genres.

Mostly it combines the heavy riffs of metal music and brings in influences from Dance, techno, rave and electro synth music, and sometimes distorted of deep, clear vocals.

You can find a variety of songs in the genre, some would be mostly dance with riffs, some would be mostly guitars with a few synths.

Top artists (for me): Rammstein, Gothminister, Deathstars, Turmion Kätilöt, Terminal Choice, Oomph!, Ruoska.

(I can give more bands in PM's, if you're interested).

Due to it's experimental genre, and the closed mindedness of the English, this genre is popular in foreign speaking countries, mostly in Germany and Finland. You can find other languages (Spanish, Russian) but they are rare.

I hope that if someone gets into this genre, then they could PM me (or not) and enjoy the great music. :)

From what I know it's a bit biased to say that "the oh so closed mindedness of England" makes genres like Industrial Metal some kind of hugely underground genre. Tbh I've found more musical variety than in my country (yes I live in Germany). The fact that Rammstein is so popular shows that it gets enough attention, even though most people only know Rammstein from the entire genre.:)

Well I've already gotten into this genre before but I prefer Industrial mixed with old or classical music.

Folk Metal is obviously the best genre ever created ever.

Following it are Symphonic Black, Black, Melodeth, Death, Blackened Death, and certain Thrash bands (Old Metallica, Testament, Lazarus A.D., Atheist).

Metal.

It's annoying me a lot how metal music is combined to satanism etc. nowadays, while it truly isn't.

I'm also annoyed by people who call music like rock heavy metal. My mum once called Nightwish heavy metal, which made me facepalm =/

It's a sad fact that 95% of people who comment on the Music forum are Metalheads. It's an even sadder fact that 90% of Metalheads on YCM don't listen to anything but Metal. And I mean the really shitty stuff.

It's a sad fact that some people can't just let people who only like metal to listen to only metal.

Dragon Rock has always been a good Sub-Genre people should listen more to. The best example would probably be Rainbow. Man On The Silver Mountain and Stargazer define Dragon Rock by all means.

What the hell is Dragon Rock? I've never even heard of it

And I thought Rainbow was Hard Rock.

Metal is by far the best and most diverse genre. Metal does not mean screaming with an E power chord in the background.

Metal can be many things. Metal bands have created beautiful ballads.

I myself prefer Symphonic, Folk, power, and Viking metal.

My favorite bands include, but are not limited too....

Rhapsody of Fire(My all time favorite), Dragonforce, Dragonland, Spellblast, Elvenking, Ensiferum, Eluveitie, Blind Guardian, Hammerfall, Within Temptation, and a select few others that I cannot recall at this moment.

Although, I must admit, most of the lyrics sound like something from Lord of the Rings. (Blind Guardian actually has a song called Lord of the Rings....)
