The Official(?) L4D Survival Guide- For Survivors in Need!

As you can see in my avatar, I am a fan with L4D. Here you can post strategies and tips, advice, etc. Some of my tips are:

 

*When starting a campaign on easy- normal always get auto shotguns or combat shotguns- depending on what game you have. Keep them untill you get to the last part a.k.a. the crecsendo event. Then switch to the m- 16 or uzi OR on l4d2 get a melee weapon and stand in a corner close to where the rescue veichle is and hold down fire.

 

*When your on easy- normal- advanced and you cannot run fast and a tank comes let it punch you back and walk away shooting. If you are on expert- your screwed.

 

The more people post i will post better and more tips.

in multiplayer games, stay in 2 pairs when searching areas, and have 1 with the shotty weapon, and 1 with the rapid fire weapon. by having a mix of weapons you can kill zombies at all ranges instead of just in your face, which will keep you focused and in control. if all members have shottys, then all the action will be in your face, and you will miss things, like the hunter player sneaking around to get you from behind while the smoker climes up the wall.

 

the sniper rifle is also a cannon, aim it in the the direction you want to go in a narrow area, and pop into zoom mode for a second to fire, and you will clear the way to run.

The sniper rifle is hard to use and should not be picked up by someone who isn't good at conserving their melee hits, as you only get 4 in a row before the recharge bar becomes visable.

 

in the finale, someone should pick up whatever big weapon there is and save it until the half way point where it becomes more frantic, unless it's the gattling gun, in which case they should just make sure it doesn't overheat.

 

 

in a verus game, while you are one of the infected, never attack alone. if you have no backup, then there will be no confusion, and you will get picked off quickly.

While inside the safe room, take out all the zombies you see from inside the room. There's unlimited ammunition in the safe room, so there's no point in not doing this.

New Tip:

 

When you are on live get teamates to cover you while you get the insane gun shop owners cola. Try to time out your hits because if the reacharge bar shows then it sucks. DO NOT GO ALONE.

 

On survival round up all the gas tanks and propane in the mall. If someone is a jackass and hits the button shoot them... but don't kill them- its probably me!
