Poseidon©
The seventh game in the series will be named Call of Duty: Black Ops, and will take place between the end of World War II and the present day. It won’t necessarily “be” a Vietnam War game, but will have missions that take place all over the world. Remember: it’s being developed by Treyarch (i.e. not Infinity Ward), the same dudes who developed Call of Duty 3 and Call of Duty: World at War. Oh yeah, good news for the PC players. DEDICATED SERVERS. Also: ZOMBIES WILL BE RETURNING. Discuss? Debut trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RpTCoLuODzE&feature=player_embedded#! OnSlaUghT
Well I guess it won't be, "Nazi Zombies" again. Of course, knowing COD, it will be based on a war.

Falkon 491
So glad that it's Treyarch and not IW, since Treyarch actually cares about their community and listening to good suggestions instead of the whiny 2 year olds (AC 130, Nuke, Akimbo 1887). Well I guess it won't be' date=' "Nazi Zombies" again. Of course, knowing COD, [b']it will be based on a war.[/b] Probably based on Vietnam or the Cold War. It won't be the Cold War, since that was more of an economic struggle between USA and Russia with no real battles involved. But hey, Vietnam is still a likely option. :D
'tyleR
Of course' date=' knowing COD, it will be based on a war.[/quote'] Cpt. Obvious just attacked. Most likely the Cold War, given the name Black Ops. :/
Poseidon©
Black Ops: Black ops missions often fit into the deniable category, a situation in which there is no claim of responsibility for the action, and/or a false flag operation is used to give the appearance that another actor was responsible, or – most often – black operations involve extensive arrangements so as to be able to hide the fact that the black operation ever occurred. Black military operations, or paramilitary operations, can be used by various secret services to achieve or attempt to achieve an unusually sensitive goal. The methods used in black operations are also used in unconventional warfare. Depending on the precise situation in a given case, and the level of authoritarianism of the national government or other responsible party, some tasks will be conducted as black operations, while there are usually other activities that can be admitted openly. Black operations may include such things as assassination, sabotage, extortion, spying on allied countries or one's own citizens, kidnapping, supporting resistance movements, torture, use of fraud to obtain funds, use of child soldiers, human experimentation, trafficking in contraband items, false flag bombing, etc.
Brushfire
It's been confirmed already that it will be set in Vietnam, so stop all that. It has not been confirmed to be called 'Call of Duty: Black Ops' nor the missions all over the world, from WW2 to present day. That was by an unreliable source that stated an 'Activision Insider' said it, and has yet to be confirmed. I believe it, but I'm waiting for confirmation before I start stating it as fact. It seems highly liking that the game will be based in both the Vietnam and Cold Wars, giving opportunity for many modern weapons to make an appearance, such as the M16 and AK-47, as well as others. Looking forward to the weapons and perks. Speaking of that, I'm wondering if Treyarch have the MW2 engine, as they only bought the CoD4 engine before. It is likely to be a modified WaW engine, with ideas taken from MW2. We'll have to wait and see, though. They confirmed that Zombies will be making a return, which I am very excited about. We'll see if they'll keep it the same with new maps/weapons/perks, or if they'll take the change suggested and turn into a more storyline focused, moving zombie game. I'm game for either, but I'd rather it be more in-depth than before. The fact that Zombies have been confirmed already means I'm buying the game. Looking forward to it. Cyber Altair
Not setting my hopes high except in the cutscene departments. WaW had one of the best cutscenes ever.

OnSlaUghT
No I mean the loading scenes but that was a bloody awesome part. Shame the story was forgettable =\ My favorite was in Hard Landing, where you see Sullivan, then in a Coffin, Followed by several Coffins, then the coffins turn into Crosses(Graveyard), and the Crosses turn to the stares on the US flag. Then they zoom out and Show Roebuck's promotion. The story wasn't too good, but one part I loved was when Roebuck dies, and after the sneak attack, Roebuck's final Speech was played, where he talks about all of them getting home after they take Shuri Castle, sadly he never made it. What was even shocking was the fact that if you manage to save Roebuck, Polonsky dies, and that blew my mind.

Hopefully we'll have lovable characters liek Richofen and Takeo made into modern versions. Easy Stubby, just because you have no one but your little brother doesn't mean you have to be this excited. I'm gonna enjoy this game. Also, Stubby, you know better then try to take Richofen, he's mine. Go instead play with Bridget in your mind, and stop telling your fantasies at lunch.
