or something completely different ;)

how about you start with a town info thingy?

info suggestions: Where is the town/city located, is there a person of importance living there, history (you don't have to be extremely through, but it could be fun to know how old the city/town is and if anything special has happened there.. be creative ;)), does it have a gym, is it a large city or a small town, well... you can probably come up with more if you start with it but those are just some suggestions I'm willing to throw at you ;)

I'm gonna work on a city hidden in the desert where in it' date=' if you do the right things, you can battle/find a Hidden Legendary desert pokemon.

We haven't decided what the region looks like or even where it is.

Let's use the Chugoku region in Japan as our inspiration, locating our region close to Hoenn :)

idea:

north = colder climate (snow will start falling during mid autumn and be melted away by late spring)

south = warmer climate (never has snow, not even during winter seasons)

mid/east/center = follow regular seasonal characteristics

There could also be an island at the farthest north where there is always winter season and to which ice pokémon migrates during summer seasons (meaning you can only catch them there during the summer)

As hiroshima is located in the real region we could have a town in our region which has been completely destroyed recently/in the past? Meaning, either ruin town or a town which has been re-built recently. Alternatively it could be destroyed during an rp/fic/game.

there you have some ideas, I'm out for toing :)

I'm good with the Chugoku area

May I make the town with the x*th gym leader?

Where is the town/city located:

Directly north of a body of water. (Perferably ocean)

Is there a person of importance living there:

Besides the gym leader: Move tutor who teaches Tsunami**.

Description:

Cliffton is a city built into a series of 5 stair-like cliffs. Running through the midde of the cliffs is a ramp/staircase to get up to the different levels. On the lowest level (Beach level), there is a pokemon center on the right of the stairs. The 2nd level has 1 house on the right of the stairs and a Pokemart on the other side. The 3rd level has two houses, one on either side of the stairs. The fourth level is the same as the third, with the left house containing a move tutor. The top level has a Gym, and a cave that leads to the route that heads to the north.

History:

"Back before humans inhabited the region of _____, Cliffton town was a large cliff jutting out of the water. A freak series of earthquakes hapened just off the shore, with many Tsunami's pelting the cliff. When the earthquakes ended, in the original cliff's place was a series of cliffs sloping upwards like stairs. The pokemon wanted to have an easy way to reach the top of the cliff, and created a slope between the levels of the cliffs."

Does it have a gym:

Yes, the Defence gym.

Is it a large city or a small town:

Medium sized.

*I dont care about which position the gym is in the pokemon league.

** Tsunami is a new move I made:

80 power.

95 accuracy.

20% chance of foe flinching.

Water Type.

That Tsunami is almost the same that Waterfall. I like the region' date=' but I don't think it's boreal enough to have snow. Kanto is a lot more to the north and has no snow...

Made up climate FTW?

I can (try) to make the map once we have everything set, unless someone already knows how to do this...

@Saikano: i realized that afterwards.

I think that mr.turtle-man did a good job on the city. The only thing I would like to have changed is that it is a bit more thorough and fits the perspective for fan-fics and rp's (meaning it should probably have more than 6 buildings. You don't have to mention the amount of houses in such an info, except for the fact that the town acctually has pokémon centers, marts and a gym (important buildings.)

Something like this maybe?

[spoiler=More thorough information, based of MT's original info sheet :)]

Cliffton Town (or Clifton City) has been built into a series of five stair-like cliffs, that was created long ago due to multiple earthquakes and tsunamis hitting the once large cliff that was jutting out in the water.

It is located in the south of the region and houses many Rock and Steel-type Pokémon.

After the tsunamis and earthquakes had subsided the once majestic cliff had been transformed into a series of cliffs that were sloping upwards like stairs and it had also been separated from the main land.

As humans started to inhabit the Nepo region, it was no surprise that a town came to be founded in the stair-like cliffs. The area was like a natural fortress and therefore brought a sense of comfort and safety to it's citizens.

Despite that the town fell victim for Tsunamis and earthquakes every now and then, it florished and is nowadays housing, while not the biggest but still the regions most successfull harbor for trades. A bridge was built to the main land so that the town became even more accessable, but many still chose to take the ferry from ???-City as you are not allowed to walk over the bridge due to strong winds. Also, taking the ferry gives you a chance to get a closer look at the beautiful surroundings as well as a more comfortable way of travelling than, say, a bus. You can also reach the town through the "Sub Aquatic Tunnel" which goes from Route X to Cliffton fl1 (there is also an exit on fl5, but many chose not to exit there as it is it not lit and houses feral zubats.)

Cliffton also houses the regions 5th Gym, since fifteen years back. It's located on the "top floor" near the botanical garden. It is currently lead by ???? who took over three years ago, succeeding the previous gym leader Leslie Harding. Leslie still lives on the island and often comes by to the gym to watch a battle or two and sometimes even stepping in as a judge. The gym leader uses a defensive strategy, using it to stall and tire out the opponents Pokémon.

I changed it around a little, but kept it mostly true to MT's original :)

Now it seems more like a short informational sheet about the town from a book and could more easily be incorporated to fit a fan-fiction or an RP :)
