Monsterology is the study of mythical creatures.

[spoiler=Level One Creatures]

[spoiler=Beasts of Earth]

- Unicorn: Beasts that ressemble horses and has a quite large horn.

- Six-Legged Salamander: Mostly found in volcanic regions. The only thing that seperates the similarities between normal salamanders and these salamanders are the two extra legs.

-Baku: A Baku is quite similar to the modern-day Tapir and has a trunk like an elephants. It's said, the Baku can devour nightmares.

-Hydrus: The Hydrus is so rare and unknown it has been described as a bird, snake and even a dragon, although it's more closely related to a mongoose.

-Bunyip: The presence of a Bunyip may be confirmed by it's shrieks, moans and howls.

-Hippocamp: A Hippocamp can survive in fresh and salt water, the Hippocamp can be tamed and is often accompanied by Merfolk.

-Winged Horse (Pegasaus): Found on the more remote Greek islands, winged horses, although rare, are remarkably friendly.

-Peryton: Said to come from ancient Atlantis , the Peryton managed to escape and now lives in the mountainous regions of Europe. It looks like a large stag with wings.

-Nue: Only found in remote areas of Japan, the nue, with it's monkey-like head and tiger-like legs, is regarded as a bringer of bad luck. This is most likely due to the black, venomous smoke it emits under it's snaky tail when disturbed.

-Yeti: It is disputed whether these denziens of the Himalayas are descended from bears or apes. Yetis are solitary creatures that try to avoid humans where possible.

-Bigfoot: It's a hairy, bipedal hominoid, rather like a large upright gorilla.

-Lake Serpent: There is usually one Lake Serpent in every lake. It is believed there is a Sea Serpent living in a place called 'Loch Ness'.

-Jasconius: The Jasconius is just like an enormous turtle.

-Cockatrice: The Cockatrice lives among the Mediterranian pine tree forests. It should only be approached with great care, it seems that the weasel is the only animal that can withstand the Cockatrice's poisonous breath.

-Phoenix: A large bird that is on fire, this is one of the rarest specimens you can find. DO NOT TOUCH! You could get third-degree burns.

Hippogriff- The Hippogriff's rear section ressembles a horse and the front area a bird.

[spoiler=Beasts of Earth]

-Chimera: The Chimera is a lover of volcanic regions. It breathes flame in the manner of a dragon from it's goatlike head and attacks with venom from it's snakelike head. It's lion-like head has a vicious bite.

-Behemoth: The Behemoth is only found in the remotest regions of Siberia, Canada and Greenland. The oversized mammoth hides itself behind mountains instead of trees, it's that big!

-Bonnacon: The Bonnacon is a large bison that emits venomous dung in a spray that burns on contact with flesh.

 

[spoiler=Beasts of Water]

-Leviathan: The leviathan is the largest creature in the world. It dwells far down in the deepest seas, where it uses a bioluminescent globe on it's forhead to light a way.

-Kraken: A mortal danger to sailors, the kraken, or super-giant squid, rarely rises from the sea bed. When it does, it generates whirlpools as it goes back down which can drag even the mightiest of warships to the bottom.

-Sea Serpent: It's not known whether sea serpents, which likely have many subspecies, breathe using gills, as do fish, or lungs, as do their smaller cousins, the sea snakes.

-Scylla: It looks like a dragon, except with no wings. It has long spines on it's back and doglike heads on top of slender serpentine necks.

-Griffin: Once common in much of Asia and Europe, griffins are now confined to the Tian Shan mountain region.

-Roc: A roc is a massive bird that hunts similar to a large bird of prey. Instead of monkeys etc. it can be elephants!

-Jaculus: The Jaculus is like a snake with wings. It lives on tops of unabandoned man-made structures in Asia and Egypt and attack by headbutting with it's strong head. This animals dung is also poisonous.

Personality: Kaze is sort of a shy person when you first meet her but if you befriend her she is very open and exciting. She is a very brave person and is willing to do almost anything to win. She can be a very loyal and trusting friend but is very east to be insulted and to lose her temper.

Biography: Kaze always had some od the best grades in school. When she got a letter saying she was invited to Harvard Academy she was estatic. When the letter said things about monsterology she thought it was just a joke but when she joined the school she discovered that it was all real. She has since fallen in love with monsters and favors the Pegasaus most of all for it majestic and beautiful nature. She has also been looking for a boyfriend in the school to spend her time with.

Personality: A Mostly a Kind and gentle Kid which suffers from asperger syndrome Which leaves him to points of Short Term Forgetfulness and hard for him to socalise. A Result of this is that he tends if not at lesions or forsed will go strait to his room to work, eat and mostly live his life in there as he thinks going outside will meen we will evither embarrace himself or will go into a fight. He also has a Temper if set off by Continious annonance, though will start to fight back even knowing of his Gentile nature.

Name: Ilan Elendril

Age (Between fifteen and seventeen): 16

Gender: Male

Personality: He is a calm, thoughtful person. He doesn't just rush into things. He doesn't socialize much, as he can't trust anyone, due to past experiances. Over time, if you can get past, what he calls his Mental Wall, he can be quite helpful, unless the situation calls for strength, which isn't something he contains. I shuns anybody who tries to speak to him, unless it's a teacher, or someone he feels he can trust.

Biography (Optional): Ilan has had a rather simple life. Aside from the occasional moving, which has happened twice due to the schools he went to didn't have the courses he needed. He generally gets ahead in his classes quickly, except for science, he doesn't enjoy that class at all. At his first school, he had made a few friends, started to talk more, and slowly grew to enjoy being around other people. However, as he continued to do well in school, his best friend just said "I can't be your friend. I can't stand you." He had no reason to say that, but he did. After that, Ilan just shut out other people, ignoring them no matter what they said. He moved to another school, people tried talking to him, and he ignored them. It continued like this for the next school he went to.

Name: Jessica "Timat" Deargent

Age: 17

Gender: Female

Personality: Eccentric and overblown. Passionate and dedicated being an understatement, she is overcharged for nearly everything she does, not so much searching for answers or knowledge as much as she kicks the very concept of learning in the face.

Has an odd combination of obsessive-compulsive disorder, Tunnel-Vision, and Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder, leading to paradoxical situations where she gets distracted from the task at hand by exerting her full effort and force towards an entirely unrelated task, unable to be swayed or in any way turned away from this new task.

She is incredibly loud, and takes most things at face-value, considering most subtext to be either useless or nonexistent, almost never taking into account other people's feelings, and never taking in their objections, be they irrational; however, to those who assume she is unintelligent, she indeed has a ravenous thirst for knowledge, and is a far faster reader than the average student would normally be.

Appearance: Jessica is about 5'6 tall, has a very skinny and lithe body type, and is known to wear rather attention-grabbing clothing. Her general uniform being comprised of a red bandanna tied about her hair, a large golden necklace about her neck with several medallions fashioned as spokes the entire way through, and a thick golden ring inlaid with a diamond the size of a small walnut.

Her cloths are made from a thick, red, water resistant material similar to canvas and seem a little worn and old, with some obvious patches of repair. However, above these garments she wears a blue admiral's cloak, obviously expensive, with shiny buttons that can be adjusted and a wide-brimmed collar. Somewhere hidden in her coat, she keeps a small, handheld megaphone for whatever reason.

She wears her hair, long and black, looking rather thin and light. The hair always has the appearance of being wet, and as such, is almost always either let down or tied roughly behind her back. Her eyes are a smokey-sort of blue and set slightly closer together than average.

Favored Creature: Leviathan

Biography: a girl of the seas, Jessica's father was a prominent Admiral of the French Navy, renown for his courage, viciousness, and cunning. Considered a 'Modern-Day Privateer', he spent the majority of his life hunting down pirates by day, and when the eyes of the law were not upon him, hunting and taking down the strange creatures that appeared in the night- and perhaps once or twice taking a turn at the 'piracy' wheel as well.

Though Jessica grew up aboard her father's ship and grew up inheriting many of his qualities, her father saw the potential she possessed when she was able to properly charter a complex path through Europe at the age of 8. Sending her periodically to landbound schools for periods of time and hiring tutors to teach her while at sea, she grew up with a strong education, particularly in Mathematics and Physics.

 

When she was accepted by Harvard, she was forced sternly by her father to attend, despite missing his next mission due to the way the semester worked out. Making the best of a bad situation, she decided to make the best of her naval knowledge through the Monsterology program.

Name: Mercedes Ekelsberry

 

Age: 16

 

Gender: Female

 

Personality: Mercedes is quite selfish, and almost everything she does normally involves making some kind of profit, whether it be recieving praise for doing a job, or actually getting some money. However, her selfishness means she already has a small fortune, which has lead to her to develop a habbit of doing everything punctually, and sometimes snapping at people who are in her way. She has a short-ish temper, and if she's feeling a particularly strong negative emotion, such as sadness or anger, she will pick someone and yell and argue with them to let it all out.

 

Appearance: Mercedes stands at 5'4.5", and she has waist-length tan-blonde hair which she ties in a high ponytail. Her eyes are a dark brown, and they appear to shimmer like crystals, whether there are lights or not. She wears an unusual ballerina-like dress; the body of her dress is a black satin and embroided with what appears to be genuine little crystal beads, and is complete with veil-like loose sleeves that stop at her wrists. The tutu is also made from satin, though it is a creamy-white colour, and is supported by a wire; although no one knows how, Mercedes can adjust the wire so the skirt either stretches out, or flattens and becomes a knee-length skirt. Whenever Mercedes moves, the skirt also glimmers, as the edge also appears to have crystal beads stitched very delicately around the edge. On her feet are a pair of blood-red pumps, complete with a carmine ribbon to tie around the leg.

 

On Mercedes' hands, she wears a pair of black leather mitts, which seems odd compared to the material used for the dress and sleeves; over the mitts, she always has two ribbons tied onto each wrist, the colour of which varies according to the season. Mercedes does wear jewelry; where she ties her ponytail, a feather can always be seen stabbed into her hair. The feather differs according to the season; white for winter, forest green for spring, gold for summer, and orange for autumn. Tied around her waist is a magenta ribbon adorned with gold and silver threads; directly in the middle of the ribbon is a valuable diamond and onyx hexagon. On her third finger, she wears a pink gold ring encrusted with a rather lumpy sapphire encrusted on top of a very tiny gold ribbons which is tied in a bow below the sapphire, and the trail reaches the tip of Mercedes' finger if she keeps it down by her side.

 

Favored Creature: Griffin

 

Biography: Mercedes' family is as affluent as she appears; her father is a well-known Griffin trainer, and her mother is the chairwoman of a very successful business. Since Mercedes was very young, she was always dressed to look affluent; as she grew older, she developed her own tastes, and is known for her unusual wardrobe of clothes. Her parents knew that Mercedes could either inherit her mother's business, or follow in the footsteps of her father, and go to Harvard Academy to learn how to train monsters. Due to interacting with the Griffins (her family have two), Mercedes decided she would be a monster training. A year before she was accepted into Harvard, she wanted her father to teach her directly, but he felt he was under-qualified, and that she might learn about a monster that she would like more; although Mercedes accepted this, she still wanted her father to give her one of the Griffins. He refused, and a raging row followed, which resulted in them not talking to each other for the next fortnight. Eventually, they got over the row, and Mercedes agreed to go and find her own Griffin once she qualifies from Harvard.

 

When Mercedes was accepted into Harvard, her parents gave her the sapphire ring she now wears all the time. She particularly values this, as it is the first time she has recieved a gift which was made especially for her.
