It would be so epic if I had a daemon i think...though according to the Subtle knife(i think, been awhile since i read them) we all have a daemon but for some worlds, it is within us.

Though that's very crude, it's basically very harsh on Christianity. With the angels being the main villians and all.

What I think he meant by God is the current "Ruler", not the original Creator.

I hate the movie, but the books are OK. Not my favourites though.

Everyone thinks the current ruler is god so it still counts.

 

God was created by other god and said, "hey everyone I totally created you and stuff".

 

Then he creates the evil church if catholic science. Then the heroine's father (God's only contender in jabroni levels) starts a war with him.

 

 

Then I'm pretty sure the heroine drops god and he shatters to a million pieces.

 

Cause Megatron (seriously, wasn't that the main angel's name?) was to much of a cheap ass to wrap god with bubble wrap.

Well, I haven't read it as I've heard its anti-religious or something, but it did win a bunch of awards and what-not.

It's anti-organized religions and anti the Christian god how he's usually presented.

 

Well I read the trilogy a few years ago, didn't see the movie though, and I liked it. The second book is my favourite, tbh, even though it's probably the least popular one.

 

But I must also say, the books are a bit overhyped too even though they're pretty good. Again an author who thinks he's smarter and more informed than he is but that doesn't keep away from the fact that some things like the daemons are really awesome.<3

Then tons of books should be banned, including books like Christianity as Old as the Creation or even books that present that god in a different light than the bible says.

Just finished Amber Spyglass. I liked it, but the author made everything too descriptive, and wrote the story so it was boooooooring.

my favorite charachter is Pantalaimon. favorite book=Golden Compass. Subtle Knife second. Amber Spyglass was so-so.
