normals are just that normal, nothing above avarage, thus not outshning any thing, think of it this way, average joe (normal) vs Einstein (Psychic) vs. Chuck Norris (Fighting) vs. Al Capone (Dark) the battle between the famous people will outshine any endeavors joe tries, he may even be more powerful than them, but his lack of a degree of training prevts his true potential from shining, like slaking.

1. Black and White. They're really going to have their legendaries be Dark and Normal?

2. They're running low on ideas and finally decided to go with a Light type to shut the fans up.

3. There are Pokémon and moves that could already be Light, especially Reshiram.

4. They need to keep doing new stuffs or Pokémon will get boring.

5. There's always a single open slot in the Pokédex and on lists of the types where a new type could easily go in.

 

I got halfway through on my own. Is that good enough?

All of these are really good points.

 

I think i've got number 6:

 

Arceus, does anyone really agree with the concept that GOD is normal? Sure, he can be every type. But GOD, the absolute ultimate, Normal? Bullshit...

#3 falls under the 'doesn't count' point, Think of the legendaries as future/past, the Black being future (it has a turbine for a tail, hence the Dragon/Electric typing, along with the storm-cloud feel) and white being the past (The torch for a tail) both represent ways humans have created power, Fire, and Electricity. 2 doesn't work, Ken Sugimori has hundreds of Pokemon designs ready and waiting, the amount that goes into a generation is completely up to Gamefreak. If there was to be a light type it would of happened already. The only reasons new types were introduced, is to balance an extremely overpowered type. As of right now there is no 1 broken type, and only 2pokemon with the Dark/Ghost typing, and both are novelty pokemon, making them weak to light, banashes Sableye from use, ever, and puts Spiritomb way out of use too.

There is no need to introduce a new type, the 17 we have all balance out perfectly fine.

 

And Light as a whole is covored by other types, Light being honorable, is covered by Fighting, the illuminesince 'Light' has both Fire and Electric, the purity of the mind as Phsycic.

 

The Good/Evil merit has no grounds, it is highly stressed in the games and anime, that pokemon are not evil, only evil people.

 

Outside people thinking Dark must have a counter part (Which in Japan, where the Dark type is 'sneaky' would make less sense already having the noble fighting type) becuase they just want one, being blinded by fangasism, people fail to realize the system needs no new types.

 

People forget that in Japan, where the games are created, a Light type would make no sense whatsoever.

 

This argument has happened ever since Gen.2 with each new game that's come out, it's never happened, and ever will.

I wouldnt say never, but even in all my hopefulness, i strongly think they will disappoint when it comes to the light type, and they just wont do it. Thus reshiram will fail because, Flying/Dragon or Dragon/Normal = Gheyyy....

 

And Zekrom will fail even harder if he's Elec./Dragon, what about him says "ZOMG!!!11!!! THUND3R!!!1!!"

Yes! *Prepares a wall to prevent the imminet stoning* I hardly ever get to bea jerk, but I love it when dreams of a light type are shot down, I now a lot of dreamers on Serebiiforums were so dissapointed they gave me PM's saying 'I'm not buying these piece of sh1t games now' becuase all of us there new better.
