PowerlinX Posted April 7, 2010 Report Share Posted April 7, 2010 Ok Guys, I have a PS2 and love it, but I think it's time for something new since this is the last year games will come out for it. So, I want to save up my money for a 7th Generation System. I want a TV Console, not a portable system, so that means I will get either a Wii, Xbox 360, or PS3. I know that the PS3 is more expensive, than the others, but I will consider it. Please help me decide which console to get. UPDATE: I have narrowed my choices down to a Wii or PS3. Wait for new consoles to come out and teh PS3 will be going at £10 each or something - seriously, huge price drop. Anyway, it's all up to taste. There's not much "better" or "worse". Wii- Family system and games that often have more direct (rather than subtle) innovation than the rest of the systems. Choose it if you're active IRL and often have more friends over than not, and or family. The constant updates of older games on the Network to buy is also great. 360- Fan of more so FPS games, and have other friends who enjoy such games. Since while the Wireless Networks cost money, they use it to maintain the server and raw connections. This is also great for Platformers and the like. The controller is also ideal for such games, but it's not quite great for all kinds of games. Ps3- This is my system of choice. Great for RPG and Fighting Games as well as what the 360 can do, but oddly enough the Ps3 is more of an LAN system like the Wii. Games like Tekken, Street Fighter, Some ARPG's and all RPG games feel much more at home with this system. (Please note that all Systems allow Online Multiplayer, I'm merely expressing this based on which I see is better based on your Lifestyle). Also I highly recommend a Wii. They're priced equally (no way near half price) you idiot plus the PS3 has more built in functions (hardware). Also Icy is another idiot because there is no console which is built around a couple of genre's. Ignore him. Don't look at the console but rather at it's exclusive library. I have all 3, and I like my 360 the most.But, you have to pay to use 360 online to the fullest, and currently , PS3 is free, but they will make you pay eventually. Free online play, built in Wi-Fi, no overpriced hardware, cheaper, better exclusives, bluray player, etc. The Xbox 360 is actually more expensive, because of this: System itself=300Live/yr=50 Those are necessary, and the hardware is VERY OVERPRICED. Brushfire Posted April 7, 2010 Report Share Posted April 7, 2010 I'm a 360 owner, but considering none of the games I play are exclusives (aside from GTA4 DLC), I recommend you go for a PS3. Free internet, blu-ray player, more exclusives (especially in the RPG area, which pisses me off) and generally, makes less noise. Just a few points, really, though Icy was right. We may have to pay to be online, but we get better deals on items, and get Map Packs / add-ons before PS3 does.If you like racing / fighting games, maybe go with the PS3?
