Aqua: You don't know Sadako Sasaki? *sigh* Well, she was 2 years old on August 6th 1945. That's when the US dropped the Atomic Bomb on Hiroshima. She lived about a mile away, on Mitarashi Bridge. She survived, and grew up living a normal life, until she was diagnosed with Leukemia ten years later. Her friend, Chizuma, came to see her in the hospital, and while there, cut a golden piece of paper into a square, and folded it into a crane. Sadako asked why, and Chizuma told her the story that whoever folds 1000 of those cranes got one wish. Well, Sadako was inspired by that, whether to cure herself or the world, she never said, but it was known amongst her friends that she wanted a peaceful world. So, she began folding. As a Leukemia patient in a 1955 Japanese Hospital, Sadako had plenty of time, but not much paper. She'd use medicine wrappers, she'd walk into other peoples rooms and ask to use the paper from their gifts, Chizuma would bring her paper from school, she'd use whatever paper she could get. Then, on October 10th, 1955, Having folded only 664 Cranes, she died. Her friends folded the remaining 346 cranes, so she'd be buried with 1000. Then, they raised money (can't remember how) to build the statue in my sig, which is in the Hiroshima Peace Memorial.

 

Her story inspired the Children's Book "Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes," which is read in schools all over Japan, every October 10th.

Well a pretty white girl (I would know) is asking a question, I am seeing that Kari left after Darklink401 allowed (yes, allowed) Yuki to take control again, (the 'hmmmm' is a big giveaway) And I am currently thinking as to whether or not I should go Crusnik on his ass for that and basically just ignore him from now on. Don't get me wrong, he's a good guy, but he has this major issue of thinking that he doesn't have a choice in whether or not Yuki rears his evil little head, which basically screws him over.

Why Did they Name the girl from the ring, Sadako?
