Unlike the boy, she seemed to at least be aware of the risks of dark alleys at night - although this one seemed to be safe enough, with the only potential threat seeming to be cowering in fear of something. Probably the dragon. She also seemed to know how this place operated, so was probably local, and all in all seemed to be the best option. The downside would be getting on this dragon, which did seem a rather odd experience, but then she reminded herself that several trainers used dragon-types as aerial transport, and at least the smart girl's hadn't just come out of nowhere. She did briefly consider using Honchkrow, but she wanted to keep it under wraps. "Oh well, here goes," she muttered as she clambered onto the beasts back. "Nice to meet you Marie," she said. Black Crystal Dragon flew over the Satellite untill landing in front of an old and run down looking warehouse. It didn't seem like much but that made it a great place to hide andit was big enough to hold duels if the need be. "Come on in.", she said opening the door. "Its an aura scan. Only certain people can get in.",she explained pointing at the strange box by the door as they entered. "Doesn't look like much but keeps me under the radar which is nice. There are several spaces up stairs with fair views of the city that I turned to bedrooms . There is also a small living area, kichen and two bathrooms." She looked back at the girl, who at the moment, she was more curious about then David. Its what happened a lot when she met someone else who knew to not devulge certain information out. Then, "Do you know how to duel at all?" She sat down on the sofa and mentioned for the girl to do the same. She would try to gain the girl's trust first. Then if she chose to tell Marie her name it was her own choice. "Dueling is done with these cards.", Marie showed the girl her deckand laied several out on the table in front of them. "Magic or Spell cards, trap Cards and Monster Cards. 'Effect' means that they have a unique extraability that you can acivate any time during a duel. Thats another thing..here battles between two people that are using their decks are called 'duels'." Marie stopped so the girl had time to take this information in. "I like your place. Reminds me of one I had when I was younger. I'm curious though, what would make you think of a 'pokémon world'? I know there aren't any pokémon around here, but to think that we're in a completely different world..." "Interesting," she continued, looking at the cards Marie had pulled out. "I noticed that quite a lot of people in the streets had cards like these. In fact because there were so many of them I picked a few up, and was actually going to ask you about them." She pulled out one of the cards and passed it to the other girl. "So I'm going to guess this is somewhat of a major pastime around these parts then?" She fell silent, considering both the card game and the girl. The game seemed to be straightforward enough, or it would be if she knew all the rules. The girl was more intriguing. It might be easier if I explained things while you watched a real duel. The best way to stay safe around here is to know how to duel and watching is the best way....plus a little commentary too." She stood and walked over to the other side and faced David, "Ok. Let's Duel!" She set her Duel Disk,"Now first thing is both duelists, the people dueling, start of with 4000 lifepoints. The goal is to get your opponents down to 0000, which means you win.", she explained. Why is my mark burning?, Marie thought to herself rubbing the once again glowing mark on her right shoulder. That would explain a lot, I suppose, and I guess if this really is another world it may even be possible." Mel pulled off the coat and dropped it at the side of the sofa. "I figured the card game would be something major here, but where exactly is here? This place seems rather oppressed, and most of the people out there seem to be either fearful or angry about something, and both you and that boy mentioned 'sector security'." Mel also considered asking about David - he seemed to know about both worlds, but frankly he seemed to be hopelessly naive anywhere, and so she wasn't really interested. This is the Satellite and there is another place across a bridge called New Domino City. New Domino is the high-end sparkling part of town and the Satellite is where 'the crooks and theives are'. People in New Domino arn't exactly fond of Satellites. I was born here." Marie placed the card face up on her Duel Disk," I summon Dark Valkyria in attack mode. And place two cards face down to end my turn." The monster appeared on her side of the field along with the two face downs. "Hey really good. Now I tune my monster with my Black Crystal Fairy in order to Syncro Summon Black Crystal Dragon! Somethings up with these marks! Why are they both burning!", Marie held her arm. blackCrystal Dragon seemed to grin at David again. "Now return the favor and attack the Elemental Hero!" OOC: this is going a bit to fast I think. Black Crystal Dragon - 3000/2000 - can re-summon a monster from an enemies graveyard using her aura to take hits whenshe or ally is attacked. opponent takes 200 points in damage."As for Sector Security..well...they are the police that are supposed to keep us in line. Break the rules and go right to the Facility. They hate us. Don't worry too much about them though because they are mostly incompatent duelists. Easily delt with.", Marie said."That by the way was a Syncro Summon. It only works if you have a tuner monster and one or more non tuners. So far, not only have you completely ignored tributes but you seem to have made a direct attack in your first turn, when you shoudn't even have had a battle phase. Also, Black Crystal Dragon has a (fairly) clearly stated effect that would activate if it was attacked, and you completely ignored it. I can't follow this duel clearly in general, but those really stand out. "Ah, the rough end of town. That I can understand, although the reactions of the people in New Domino seem a bit extreme." Incompetent police forces sounds familiar as well, she mused, maybe this place isn't that different. She lapsed into silence as she watched the 'duel.' At first, she tried to link it back to pokémon battles, being something she was familiar with. Certainly the effects seemed very much like the abilities pokémon had, but beyond that it wasn't really similar at all. Still, the game did seem to make sense, not that she was going to play it a whole lot, since if kids in this world - she took a mental double-take when she realised she'd accepted that this place was another world - were learning this game from being very young it would take far too long to catch up. Plus we should still bedueling because Black Crystal Dragon's ability wouldhave activated meaning your Elemental Hero would have reappered and been destroyed andyou wouldhavetaken 200 lp in damage. Plus it seems like you completly forgot about Prevention Star which would have protected Black Crystal Dragon without her ability. Mariev grinned,"Yeah that was a good match. But you have a mark too? If this girl had a mark like hers and David's then that means her hunch was right. That the Crimson Dragon had choosen new Signers and that rumors of Dark Signers were true. It might even expalin that blast of pure energy that rippled through the atmosphere not long before she met David who clearly seemed to know a lot even though he was not fom this world. Ah well, I'll probably pick it up after seeing a few more, since I get the feeling it'll take a while to figure out how to get back... her thoughts trailed off after seeing the marks on the other's forearms. "OK, I have two questions," she spoke up. "First, what's a Signer, and second what's the Crimson Dragon?" She looked down at her arm, and then noticed that it really did ache quite a bit, but yet more facts were grabbing for space in her mind. The first was how David, who claimed to be from the same place as her, knew about the marks that were apparently something to do from the world they were in now. She set it aside, and held out her sleeved arm, deciding Marie could worry about the ache for the moment, whilst she sifted through the other's words. Signers are very powerfull duelists that have the power to summon the Crimson Dragon, they often have other abilities and all have a powerfull dragon card. Black Crystal Dragon is mine. There are five total. There is a whole legend about the story of the Crimson Dragon and the five Signers of the Crimson Dragon.", Marie explained and looke d at the girl's arm. Marie had pushed up the sleeve, and there was a rather odd mark there that hadn't been before. It took a few moments for it to fully sink in. "What? Where did this thing come from?" she cried, and she started rubbing again, hoping that it might come off, but she knew it wouldn't. I'm dreaming, she though, I'm sleeping at the bottom of that ledge, and I hit my arm on the way down, so it hurts in my dream. It's fine, I can just wake up. She stopped rubbing the mark and she calmed down a little, but she knew she wasn't really dreaming - she just didn't want to admit it. OOC: What would the Alliance of Light's marks look like anyway?
