Tamers (Started/Accepting Via OOC)

Delano examined the bear to find a sticky like substance "this will work" Delano said as he inserted the substance into the places where it would hold the lance together. After finishing Delano than put his lance next to the fire so the substance could harden. "Alright now to use the other parts" Delano said as he gather the unused bones. Delano placed the claws of the bear at different spots than the rest of the bones into an order of how the bear was built but on a flat prespective. "Hmm...."

Jack bit into another peice of the bear's flesh as he watched Sir Irwin work on his weapon. Bane on the other hand had fallen asleep from the fight right next to his master. "Heh...would ya look at that...little guy couldnt keep his strength up." Jack commented looking at Bane and then cautiously appraising his partner's jaw. "That was a nasty hit he took...im probably not gonna be having him fight for a while unless any of you know a good healer."

Evelyn listened as her questions were answered and was mostly just relieved she didn't have any glaring injuries. For now things were peaceful enough. She found herself laughing at how many questions she had asked too, until she found out she'd been out for two hours or so.

"Two hours? Why does my luck have to suddenly be so erratic just by coming to this world? Well that's it for my questions, don't mind me if I pass out again." Evelyn said laughing a bit. Flamme wasn't laughing at the idea but he'd be the one to wake her up if she fell asleep again anyway regardless of whether she just fell asleep or really just lost consciousness. Evelyn then got to thinking about what she'd been told, as one thing had been nagging at her. She got it rather quickly.

"Afon. Afon. That's the other city that we hadn't meant to go to because it made Matsue uncomfortable. Funny that we made it here anyway." she thought. As her thoughts on the matter ended the group had docked and Evelyn got to her feet once again, though this time to get off the boat and the water.

Daena focused intently on the device, ignoring Josh's concern about the dangers of messing with the unit. The first thing she did was to unload all of the crossbow bolts and money from the unit; both of which appeared behind her.

 

"Now if I remember how to do it..." Daena brought to the fore of her mind all of the forums she read when researching the technology behind Tamers. The source code. The beta tests. The common hacks. The architecture. The so-called 'black box' it interfaced. As such, she flipped the unit on it's back, pressed two pressure points located there, then flipped it back over and attempted to log out. As she expected, the plate on the rear slid back to reveal a button. There were signs that there was a sticker where the button was, but Daena removed that 'warranty void if removed' sticker a long time ago. Just as well, as her target was that button.

After she pushed it, the front screen began spewing out diagnostic messages. It showed some basic information; nothing that she really didn't know. The fact that everything besides the systems that allowed the tamers to function in this world was down worried her, but the fact that they were working at all was good news all the same. Scrolling through the information, she came across something that caught her eye.

Daena always wondered why people could just make themselves Bug Testers if they knew how to work the system. At least they had the intelligence to block off higher user ranks, even if some were hacked. There was no way she was going to attempt hacking to become GM rank or anything... after all, she never even set her rank to Bug Tester at all. Daena figured that these things were being logged... back on Earth at least.

 

As her finger approached the screen, she felt the gazes of all others in the room; even the children seemed interested in her explorations into the Tamers system. Still she had no idea what would happen if she changed anything, especially in their situation. She took a deep breath and lowered her finger, right on the [bug Tester] button. She could only hope that the option was as benign as it sounded.

Ichiro laughed, then they sat awkwardly until their food arrived and they didn't talk again even while that happened. Ichiro got the steak, which was an amazing surprise, cooked just as he liked it, another reason to call this place a dream. But it was the greatest dream Ichiro had ever had. He sat around, toying with his food, eating much slower than he would under normal circumstances. This was unreal. He was starting to believe this world was real. He shook his head and started eating again with such vigor, you would believe he hadn't eaten in weeks. It felt that way to him, he was so spoiled, his stomach had grown to enormous sizes without his body following from engorging himself in every meal. When they finished eating, they stepped outside and Ichiro asked the question he was contemplating the entire time. "Felinix, could you show me a way to prove this world is real? You being here is certainly not enough. Please?"

"Well you could always just ask," Sir Irwin said not even lookin gup at Jack, who had noted about finding a healer for Bane, and then felt the edge of the axe once more; it was becoming very sharp and would be almost finished soon. Finishing it within the next few strokes he handed it over to it's new owner and pointed to Seline, who was still watching Delano with some interest, "She could heal Bane for you. All you need to do is ask . . . politely that is."

 

"So what are you going to make now?" she asked Delano while fiddeling with the bear's fur. She really didn't need anything new to use or work with, but she felt that while everyone was doing something she had to keep herself occupied by some means. She had already stretched the fur out and was spinning it into a weave, making the coarse fur into a string like consistancy, while she waited.

Yaming was the first to get out of the boat and then helpped Evelyn onto the dock, Crystal tied the boat to the docking pole before getting out herself. Looking around Evelyn was suprised. When she had heard of a town floating on water . . . she didn't think thatit would be actually floating on . . . you know . . . the water! The "roads", if you'dall them that, where made to flaot by having large barrels strapped to them and the houses were supported by large pillars which were most likely burried deep into the murky lakebed below. Despite how magnificent it looked she still couldn't help feel a bit uneasy as Yaming and Crystal lead her along; she felt that if she ever did fall off the "road" she'd have a hard time getting back on. Taking a turn to the right lead them to an Inn and, getting to the door, she could hear someone yelling inside.

 

"Looks like Matsue is awake again," Yaming said with a smile and opened the door.

 

"GET ME OUT OF HERE!!!" the young girl had screamed before running into Evelyn; knocking her down. She stood up and Evelyn could see she was panicing and a lot of the Inn's staff had been trying to keep her inside, "I . . . I . . . I WANT TO BE ON DRY LAND! NOT WITH WATERY HELL HOLE!!!"

 

"Matsue . . ." Crystal sighed as she pulled the scared girl in by her shirt collar, while Yaming helpped Evelyn herself inside, "You know we can't go anywhere until Iceis wakes up. Because . . . you panic every time we put you in a boat . . ."

 

"Because that is even worse than being here!"

Felenix thought about it for a moment before getting a shly, cat-ish, grin on his face, He put his hands behind his head and seemed to act as if his head was suddenly up in the clouds. He was also beginig to walk very awkwardly as he circled around Ichiro as nonechalantly as he could, "So you want to find a way to know if this isn't a dream, hu?"

 

Without waiting for an answer Felenix pounced on Ichiro while uncovering his claws and lightly scratched his partner's arm, making blood seep into the open wound; which of course hurt. Standing back up Felenix retracked his claws and wipped the blood of his hands, "I think that might've done it. What about you?"

While Deana began tampering with her system the twins and their partners looked on with curiosity. The only person who didn't show any signs of being interested was Josh, who said it was a bad idea to mess with something that possibly controled this entire world; he did think this was a real world, but that somehow the Tamers System was linked to the very core of it, or something like that. Either way . . . he really didn't like the idea of Tampering with them at all, even for a second. When he saw the title under "Change User Rank" switch from Player to Bug Tester even he shoved itno the group to look at it. But his instincts kicked in when he saw Deana go to press the button, his hand catchign hers as she pressed it, "Deana I don't think this is-"

 

Releasing the button just enough for the command to be registered the Tamers System began to blink and generate sounds that made it sound like it was messing up, or that an error had occured in the data. It was starting to spark and lights flashed from it, making the twins panic as they ran to get away. Josh on the other hand was trying to help Deana get the blasted device off her wrists but found that it had automatically locked itself, "Deana hold still for a minute so I can ge tthis off!!!"

 

A sudden flash, coupled with a bamg, from the Tamers System temporarily deafened the entire group. Rubbing his eyes Josh looked up to see Deana standing in the middle of her room, and her motions seemed slowed down or even . . . in the sense of a game . . . lagging. Opening her mouth to speak the only thing that came out was the sound of a system trying to reboot itself and then she froze, her image suddenly becoming broken and fragmented, before shattering like glass. Josh rushed over to grab who he thought was Deana, but once he looked it was someone entirely differnt; what he could not have possibly known was this was what Deana really looked like.

 

She had hacked into the system and, after tampering with things she shouldn't have, seemed to have destoryed her character's appearance. Yet . . . strangely . . . nothing else seemed to have been effected.

 

"D-Deana?"

[The D.M.]

Jack took his Axe from Sir Irwin thanking him. He then swallowed hard at what he had to do. He approached Seline and cleared his throat loudly. "Woma...Seline...My partner has been badly injured in his Jaw during the fight with the giant bear. I would indeed be most appreciative if you could employ your healing skills twords tending to his injuries...pppppleeeeeassssseee" He said hissing out the last word through clenched teeth In actuality this was his first time ever addressing a woman without intent to murder her.

"My splitting head..."

 

Daena slumped to the ground as she started to regain focus. She hadn't noticed that her hair had turned dark brown and her eyes light brown. Her facial structure changed too, and she was even taller than before... overall she looked a bit more mature. The most glaring thing was that on the back of her right hand, a cross-shaped scar appeared. Irenia was the first to freak out at it's sudden appearance.

 

"Daena! What happened to you? And your hand?!"

 

Now able to focus, she took a look at her hand, then blankly looked at Irenia. "What's wrong with it?" she asked nonchalantly.

 

"You got hurt! That scar!"

 

"What? I've had that for ages. When I was younger I.... oh." Daena finally realized what had happened. She glanced down at her Housing unit, which was still in diagnostics mode.

Rebuilding Data... ugh, Daena thought to herself, not happy at all with the results. "I guess we'll have to wait awhile before we see what that actually did besides... change my appearance." Irenia flew onto Daena's shoulder and started crying her heart out.

 

"Don't... don't do anything like that again!" Irenia managed to say through her tears.

 

Daena gently put her hand on her partner. "Sorry... I guess I worried you guys, huh..." she said with a small smile. Maybe she was a little reckless back there, but at least there was no permanent damage done.

"I'm gonna use the rest of the bones and the fur to make stuff. I may not look like it but i've really good at making stuff from animal or monster parts." Delano said than grabbed on of the back pawbone against his foot "this good work just have to cut down a few sizes" Delano said than started to get the paw into two halves. After Delano got the paw in half he started carving out holes to put feet into.

[Jake the Sage]

"So what are you going to make it into exactly?" Seline asked as Jack walked up beside her. Looking over to him she, not letting Jack actually see this, reached for her weapon. She had traveled with Delano for a bit and knew what too look out for when he was going to attack someone, but Jack was another story. Then he did something she hadn't expected. He asked for help from her. To add to the confusion he even said please, though it looked like just saying the word was causing him extreme pain, but never the less he said it. Standing up she looked him in the eyes and asked, "You really need my help that badly?"

 

Seline normally would've jumped at the chance to heal a sick or wounded animal. That was the kind of person she was, kind and caring. But then again all of those animals hadn't tried to attack her before hand, neither did they have a master who acted like Jack did. It was a wonder she didn't immediately think this was some kind of ploy to make her let her guard down.

It took the twins the entire ammount of three whole seconds to recognize and happily accept Deana on how she really looked; though they probably wouldn't have cared if she looked the same or not. Susie was running her hands through Deana's hair and talking about it like any normal eight year old would while her "younger" brother was running his fingers over her scar. In fact it was as if both of them had already forgotten what Deana's Tamer Avatar looked like. But not Josh. He was still having a bit of trouble accepting what had just happened.

 

"Deana," he murmured kneeling down and resting a hand on her should, her real shoulder, and his eyes grew angry, "Don't you ever do something like that again! Once your Tamers System has finished getting back to 'normal' promise me you'll never mess with it again. What if it had did something horrible to you ? Or what if it erased Irenia? Please promise me?"

 

"C-Could that thing actually erase Irenia?" Harriet asked shaking as she huddled with Eli, whom had not let his eyes leave the mechyanical device. The slowing sound of the rain allued them to the knowledge that the torrent outside was coming to it's end.

Jack looked back at Bane and a rather painful memory flashed into his mind. A memory of one of the few times a victim had fought back. Bane had taken a 12 gauge shotgun to the side and Jack sat by him for weeks hoping it would heal. Bane was the first one to treat Jack with something close to decency. (Why am i acting this way...why am i being so WEAK now? Has something in this realm softened me? Or is what that person said true? About Tamers by nature not wanting to hurt others...if that is so...what the hell have i been doing?) Jack sighed deeply at his thoughts. "Yes...yes i do need your help"

Daena sat dumbfounded as the possibility of what Josh said sunk into her head. Erase Irenia? Impossible! Or at least that was what she originally thought. She had figured any problems the tamer unit would cause would be temporary, and last until she found a way back home. Of course there was truth to what he said, and the proof was right there on the housing unit; it had information on not just Daena, but Irenia too.

 

"I.... I don't know...." Daena said softly. Her voice was on the verge of breaking up. Irenia looked up at Daena from the ground, clearly worried about her wellbeing. With the rain starting to let up, the obvious course of action would be to continue their trek to the capital. Daena would be the first to suggest they move forward, but when she made not motion to, it was Irenia who stepped up to the task.

 

"Well... the rain's almost gone," Irenia said as she started to fly in the middle of the room. "We're going to take the train, right?"

Evelyn had already been a little shaky while walking, but having Matsue attempt to rush past was more than enough to knock her down. It seems Matsue hadn't just not wanted to come to Afon. She really never wanted to come and her behavior now evidenced that quite well. Crystal helped Matsue back in and Yaming helped Evelyn back to her feet.

"Has she been that way this whole time?" Evelyn asked Yaming in reference to Matsue. It was really a rhetorical question as there was no doubt Matsue had been panicked the moment she realized where she was. Still, it worried Evelyn to see her so distressed.

"I wish we could help her somehow. But it doesn't seem like anything other than leaving will get her to calm down." Evelyn observed, mostly to herself. Though she was sure the rest of the group felt the same. Flamme came in and stayed close to Evelyn's side as he had become accustomed to doing since Sewati's spell reduced his size.

"So, aside from finding me, was Iceis waking up all you were waiting on?" Evelyn asked.

[Kira Magister Magi]

"Ok, I'm sure it's not a dream anymore, but really, you could have done less damage than that." Ichiro said with a wince. "Did you want to cut me or something? What did I ever do to you? I mean, you could have slapped me or something... Ow... That's gonna leave quite the pretty scar. Oh, well." Hw was fine with anything he did as long as long as he knew he was awake. Now onto more pressing matters. "Let's go to that arena you were taking me to. I already paid for this place, so let's go."

"Making bone armor with the fur as well" Delano said as he finished making 1 of the paws into a pair of bear paw bone boots. Delano than grabed the 2nd paw and put his hand against than started cutting it in half as well. After he finished getting the paw in half he started to hollow out parts to put his hand into with a grip for the palm of his. Kikiania took a nap while Delano worked on his gear.

Sven looked at Trago and then quickly got up. "Trago you stay here with Axel and keep him out of trouble. I have to go find out more about her. She's obviously hiding something important and I need to know what it is," he said. He walked out of the room quickly, shutting the door behind him as he went. He made his way down the stairs, moving quickly but not like he was in a hurry. He wanted to catch her before she was out of the tavern. If she had gotten out of the tavern he would go out the doors and look for her in any direction before heading to catch up to her.

The children, not having heard Josh mention the possability to Deana loosing her partner, quickly answered and went to go pull Deana to her feet. Yet luckily their partners had heard the conversation and motioned that they should go outside and wait for them; needless to say this wasn't a likeable option for the twins, but they did as they were told. Now alone Josh kneeled down to Deana and lifted her head to she would look at him and gave a smile, "Well lets not dwell on 'what ifs' and get moving, hmm?"

 

Letting her chin go a sudden beeping rang out and Deana's Tamners Device began to light up once more. It wasn't malfunctioning was it? No it didn't seems so . . . because a few minutes afterwards Josh's Tamners device began to do the same, make a high pitched ringing noise and it's lights would go off in odd patterns, "W-What's going on!?"

 

"Josh! Deana!" Sammie yelled racing back into the house with the others following quickly. He shoved his own Tamers System into Josh's arms and Susie held her own. They were doing the same thing, letting out a ring while flashing.

Seline looked at Bane, who was still passed out, and then back at Jack. It was true he was trying to be nice about it as best he could, but if either of them attacked her she would not let it go like last time. Placing her hand over her face she let out a sigh and nodded her head, "I'll heal your partner for you. Just don't go getting itno battles too quickly, it's only a temporary fix. He'll still need soem time to rest and heal on his own."

 

Kneeling down beside the sleeping hellhound her hands began to glow a light blue as the wounds around the animal's mouth began to heal. A sudden ringing from Jack and Delano's Tamers System made both her and Sir Irwin turn their heads.

Yaming let out a slight laugh when Evelyn asked if she had been that way the entire time. The truth was the moment she had woken up everything was fine. She had gotten up and began to look around the small Inn they had placed her in without so much as a single problem. Even looking out at the scenary, which to her appeared to be nothing more than an ocean side view, didn't phase her. It was when she agreed, despite being told she didn't have to come help, and stepped outside did she really begin to panic. She'd realized where they were and . . . well . . . Matsue has pretty much been like that the entire time.

 

"I WANT TO GET OUT OF HERE!! PLEASE!!!" Evelyn could hear even though she was still downstairs with Crystal; Yaming had gone up to try to calm her. When Evelyn asked if they were just waiting on Iceis to wake up she looked at her with a forn, "We've actually haven't found Rift yet. We've been searching all this time and haven't found anything. But Iceis is awake, but her wings aren't ready to fly yet. So we're going to have to take the ferry tomor-"

 

A sudden ringing from her side interrupted her as she looked down. Her Tamers System was either going on the fritz or some outside force had gotten in contact with it. Then Evelyn's system did the same and, upstairs, they could hear Rift's abandoned System doing the same, "Evelyn did we break our Tamers System or something?"

Felenix stopped for a minute and looked at Ichiro blankly. He had realized he wasn't sleeping, that all of this was real, but he still wanted to go to an arena he could possibly be killed at. "What is he thinking?" he thought before voicing his opinion, "I don't think that'd be a very good idea. You can die you know . . ."

 

A sudden ringing from Ichiro's Tamers Device caught their attention . . . and everyone else's in the room. No one knew what was making the sounds, but it was getting annoying and it was getting annoying . . . fast!!!

Looking around Sven could see that the woman had headed downstairs and, following her, he continued to trail her outside. She would make twists and turns to avoid people, which made it even more difficult to follow her, while keeping her hood on. She only stopped once to hand out some copper coins to some children who were asking for spare cash to get something to eat, "There you go . . ."

 

A sudden rustle caught both of their attentions and they walked over, though Sven continued to keep out of sight, to see a quarrel begining. It was one sided to say the least, the man who had started it was a lot bigger than the other person. Without a second thought the woman stepped between the two men and ordered them to stop; which greatly angered the large brute, "What makes you think you can order me around woman!?"

Delano looked at the Tamer system "What tha- this better be important" Delano said as he just finished his pair of bear bone claws. Delano turned and looked at jack than back the Trainer system not really knowing why it was going off. thinking to himself: I wish i know how this thing functioned i haven't used o well i'm probably about to found pretty soon

Daena barely had a chance to respond to Josh's encouragement before her Unit began going.... Well, berserk was the only way she could describe it. "What... is this?" Daena had not noticed this behavior from her Tamer Unit at all in the past. Had she screwed up more than she thought? She glanced upward, and Irenia was still there, so that wasn't the problem, at least. It wasn't just her's either. Josh's soon went off, and the twins' as well; they came back in fussing about their devices.

 

Focus, FOCUS! Daena shook her head as she she tried to think. While she wasn't keen on messing with these units, she could at least take a look at it. The unit was no longer in diagnostics mode. But whatever mode it was in... she never saw any reports about it. Daena took a deep breath. "Okay... let's wait... until this passes."

 

Irenia was more optimistic about this whole thing, sure in her mind that Daena made some sort of breakthrough in the quest to return to Earth. While Daena and the others were focusing on their devices, Irenia joined them, sitting down on Daena's shoulder. "I wonder what's going to happen?" she asked, with her upbeat tone contrasting with the worried and fearful atmosphere.

Crystal and Evelyn had just been talking when out of no where their Tamer's systems began to let out a loud and quite annoying sound. It was sudden enough that Flamme nearly began flying from surprise. He settled again next to Evelyn but clearly didn't seem to like the noise.

"What the heck is that sound?!" Flamme said shortly after settling. Evelyn couldn't provide an answer, she was just as lost as Flamme.

"I haven't touched it for awhile now! There's no way it could be broken unless the lightning messed with it but you'd think it would have already started acting up if the lightning was the cause. That said, I have no idea what's causing this. Has it ever happened to you while just playing the game?" Evelyn asked. She really doubted either of them really knew what was going on with their systems at the moment. She just hoped that the systems would stop freaking out shortly as the sound was annoying to them, and most likely, everyone around them.

It took an entire minute for the Tamer System to stop it's ringing and return to normal. Looking at each other the entire group then inspected their systems, making sure they weren't messed up, and in fact there appeared to be nothing wrong. Setting their systems down Susie and Sammie sat down, "Nothing wrong here!"

 

"Me either!"

 

"Mine is fine too," Josh said placing the system back on his wrist. However Deana found that hers had some information changed about her. Looking at it she could see that her information had been changed; it stated she was no longer a player. In fact once Josh and the twins looked once more they could see that their 'player' IDs no longer registered.

 

"S-So this confirms it . . . this isn't a game," Josh said pressing buttons on his system, hoping to accidentally stumble on a way to fix it.

 

"We coulda told you that," the twins stated.

"No it's never done something like this," Crystal said shaking her Tamers System to make it stop. The noise was so loud it was audiable upstairs and both Matsue and Yaming came down to see what as causing it. Noticing it was coming from their friends both girls walked over, Yaming questioning first, "Can't you make that thing be quiet?"

 

"No! I . . . We didn't even do anyhting to it!" Crystal said as the loud noise abruptly stopped. Looking down at their devices the surrounding people went on with their days as Eithal pulled Evelyn's Tamers System beside him and looked at it, "It no brok, no?"

Sir Irwin picked the device up from Dleano nad began to examine it when the noise suddenly stopped much to his suprise. Handing it back to Delano the boy saw that the "Store Items" function had been disabled. So he was stuck carrying all of his money and other supplies. It wasn't just Delano's system which had lost it's ability to hold items, but Jack's as well.

 

"So what is that thing?" Seline asked both of them as she leaned over to get a closer look.

"Don't really know i've never really used it. I had when i came here" Delano said than put it away than went back to working with the bones this time with the rib cage of course Delano used his own measurements to figure the right adjustments and what needed to cut where. He also got the bear pelt as well and aligned it with the bones as he began to make the bone plate for his torso.

Daena was less than pleased with the new development. With a quick look through diagnostics mode she noticed that she was worse off than before; now the Partner data was all scrambled. She was lucky Irenia was still around; who knew what would had happened if she was still in the device. That's what I get for messing with the unknown, I guess, she thought to herself, as she knelt down to pick up her gear. She would have been out of her mind to return her equipment to her unit. Fortunately, the bolts were all neatly bundled together, but carrying them all on her person would be a hassle, so with a little persuasion she had her traveling mates to carry a small portion of them. With that settled, Daena opened the door to the outside world.

 

The rain was now completely gone, with the only signs of the rainfall being the soaked environment. Irenia took in a deep breath, grateful to be outside once again. "Well, the rain's gone," she said as she flew by Daena's head. "Shall we continue?"

 

Daena sighed. She still wasn't over her massive failure back there, but the group still was in the middle of nowhere. And she could not bear leaving the kids alone. "All right," she said somberly. "Let's continue making our way to the train line..."

Jack looked at his Tamers system with a look of mixed suprise and question. "What the bloody hell just happend?" Jack asked as his Tamer system effectivley failed its items function. "What an odd dimension...its interfering with my eqipment." He said, annoyed he gave his system a few taps for good measure. "Damn...its not working..what the hell is up with this dimension?" He asked with irritation clear in his tone
