The girl's in the group had finished changing, none of the few males had returned yet. Mastue's clothing was interesting to say the least. Somewhat pirate like and Yaming showed that pirate references made some sense to people in this world. Since everyone had changed Evelyn was also sure to tell Flamme he could come down and land now if he wanted to. Within a few minutes he was back down right next to Evelyn as he usually was. Matsue seemed to already have her hair dry and when she offered to dry others she held up her index finger.

"She doesn't mean..... I've got to see this." Evelyn thought.

"Come on Crystal, let her dry your hair, Yaming and I'll see if it's safe afterwards." Evelyn said laughing a bit.

"Why do I have to be the guinea pig!?" Crystal yelled as Evelyn offered her up as the first to try getting her hair dried. She didn't want anything bad to happen to her, that was for sure. But the others only laughed as she sat down, with Matsue behind her, and waited for her hair to get cut off or something. Raising her finger Matsue pointed at Crystal and a little fireball appeared at the tip, a sudden flare of the fire creating enough heat to dry her hair out perfectly, and then she held it up at Yaming and Evelyn, "Your turn . . ."

"Turn for what?" Rift asked walking back into the camp with Eithal, both carrying firewood under their arms.

"T-That can't be," Adrian said as he looked down at the picture and both his parents looked at each other with a bit of concern. Taking hold of Deana's shouders Adrian looked at her, his face stern, "Are you sure you're not mistaken at all? That looks like the man who gave you that bow?"

"Why what's the big deal anyways?" Josh asked with his hands behind his head and was given a harsh look by Adrian's family. Who ever the person in the picture was it was certain that he held a lot of important to have all of them look at him in such a way. Letting out a small laugh he took a step back, feeling the hostility towards him, and asked what he should have in the first place, "S-So who is he?"

"That is Lord Nomen himself . . . the founder of this country over a hundred years ago," Jericho told them as he himself looked at the picture, "A brilliant mage and an unparalleled archer. Its said that he weilded a bow which only he could use, its arrows being of pure magic."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Master isn't that-?!" Seline said and was given a nod in respond. Sir Irwin heard of people being fast but to go from the boarders of Nomen itself to the first of the train tracks was a very difficult feet; they must've been running a full night and day just to get here in time. Laughing to himself Sir Irwin knew they would never be able to keep up that kind of pace, "At such a pace no, but if you took your time to see everything around you then we easily could."
"We were going at our hunting pace. When we get into the mood for hunting we can catch nearly anything we are after. But i'm sure as long as you people pack lightly Kikiania can handle three full grown adults at once" Delano said looking at irwin and seline "Me and Kikiania are skilled hunters despite the fact i'm only a recuit rank. However you must never underestimate me especially in hand-to-hand combat" Delano said than thought to himself in close combat people would hurt themselves from my rough skin. Delano than smiled than laid back onto Kikiania's sides
"What."
Little emotion could be heard in Daena's voice. She was shocked that the person who gave her the Elder Bow, was none other than a historical figurehead! Or someone who looked like him. It would be too coincidental, then. Did the game have a special event that she took a part of unknowingly that dropped the bow in her lap? There were a few records of the Elder Bow online when she researched it, but... it was said that a player had it! He was always reclusive, so no one really ever met him, and disappeared altogether when he passed the bow on to her. Of course, she thought he was a quitting player, but this may change everything.
Was her theory that the GMs created an 'NPC Player' not far off the mark? The game company certainly had the technology to do so, seeing how real the partner creatures were. Of course, she was still thinking in game terms, since she got the bow when all of this was a game. However, after looking at the confused and worried looks on the inhabitants of this world, she knew that to them, this was something more. All because of her bow, they had worries about an important figure, the man who founded their country, no doubt. She couldn't leave them like this.
"Looks like I have another reason to find the others, then," she told Adrian. "One of them may be able to tell us exactly how this bow ended up in my possession." Yeah, I have many questions for you, Jake, she thought to herself.
"Alright Deana," Adrian said standing up, certain in his own mind what the Elder Bow meant, and continued, "Lets get to finding your friends."
"Alright finally!" Josh called back standing up himself and stretching. He didn't know how Deana had gotten a hold of a bow that had historical meanings, but then again he was still somewhat delusional that this was all a dream or just part of the game.
"Oh, so your a recruit?" Sir Irwin said with a smile, somehow the information had made him feel at ease, "Well that explains why you are so confident in your abilities. Plan on becoming a Paladin or a Great Knight?"
"Oh so is he part of the Nomen military?" Seline asked looking over at Delano and got a no from her master.
"I am to be a Great Knight. Though monster hunting is pretty fun though there is no such thing as a monster hunter. Also i'm not apart of the military i work by my own standards and take my own jobs" Delano laughed "But anyways i'm gonna be using my lance and my partner Kikiania to help me become stronger. Infact before jumping on this train we were looking for something to hunt though no luck. Infact even on top of the mountain we climbed eariler today there was nothing but a bird that songs random notes" Delano said looking around observing the cabin and all its contents.
"....of course, I have no idea where to start looking" Daena replied, sighing. "They'll probably show up eventually, especially if they're all looking for a way home... I'd be thankful for any help you can give, though."
She then turned to Adrian's parents, and bowed her head. Irenia almost fell off of her shoulder with the sudden movement and had to resort to flying instead. "If it is at all possible, I'd like to keep using the Elder Bow," Daena requested. "I don't know what's out there, and I would feel safer with the bow at arms reach."
Seeing Matsue's method was interesting. It seemed she was a mage or at the least new some magic. The fire ball seemed to be perfectly capable of drying hair and Evelyn was all for it as her hair was far too long and abundant to dry on it's own in any convenient amount of time. It was only now she realized that while the length of her hair was all fun and good for just playing Tamers, now that it was her real hair, it wasn't all that convenient for traveling.
"I can do that for you if you'd like. I breathe fire you know, not just summon it." Flamme said.
"No thanks, I'd rather have some skill involved with this sort of thing." Evelyn responded. Flamme snorted at the comment. She found it sort of cute how her partner didn't like looking inferior to anyone while he was around her. As Matsue moved to Evelyn and Yaming, Rift and Eithal returned from gathering wood for a fire.
"Hair drying of course!" she called out as Rift had been the one to ask. "Hair takes longer to dry when there's more to work with. Not that I'd expect a guy to understand it." Evelyn said.
"Well atleast getting fire wood will be easyer than trying to answer more questions." Rift said as he searched for fire wood with Ethril.
Iceis was curling up to rest. She was watching the new friends that had been found. " I wonder how long this will last." She started to grinn as she saw them ringing out the wet clothes.
Ethril had just filled his arms with all the wood he could carry when he said " Man child lisen ...a music stick." Rift turned to just in time to see the bee's come rushing out of the last stick ethril picked up. The goblin drop all the wood he had, turn screaming, and run back to camp.
" Well this will not be good." Rift said, as he picked up all the wood ethril droped, minuse the 'Music stick'.
Garth awoke in a swamp like area. He looked around dazed and then he saw Nix. His centaur in the game tamers. But it dawned on him that it wasn't a game anymore. He then realized that anything that would happen to him her would probably be real. He thought about his friends and family back home.
"What would they think happened? Would they think he ran away? Or would they somehow know that he was sucked into the game of tamers?" He thought worried but he decided to figure out this later when he was dry and warm. He was ankle deep in murky water and wanted to save his shoes. He looked at Nix and without saying anything he knelled down and allowed Garth to get on his back. "Where to Garth?" Nix asked in his usual tone of voice. Garth sighed and said. "I have no clue. someplace warm hopefully. But lets get out of this swamp first." And without another word Nix started galloping in a direction that looked drier. As he galloped Nix's hooves sprayed up water splashing Garth. "Ugh just great. Now I'm even wetter then I was." He though sourly, but kept it to himself because Nix was his friend and only hope to survive in this world.
"Well we wont let that stop us now will we?" Adrian said with a grin on his face, taking Deana's hand and leading her our of the study and into the main library; Josh having followed. Adrian had hardly let Deana finish asking if she could use the Elder Bow still, though his parents would've concented either way, and now that they were inside the library he was climbing up and down latters for certain books.
"So . . . uh . . . do you want us to help with anything?" Josh asked not quite sure what to do. After all he had been almost forgotten this entire time, partly in fault by Adrian himself, and was wanting to be a little more proactive. Pulling out a book Adrian wipped the dust off the cover and nodded in response to Josh' comment, "Sure- Catch!"
"Wha-!?" Josh had stuttered before the heavy book fell into his arms and nearly took him down with it. Lifting it up to the table ti fell with an audiable 'thud', more dust being kicked up from the old relic, and read the title- "Sir Corie Nomen"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"Sir Irwin! He DID come down from the Heartfall Mountain range!" Seline said as Sir Irwin gave a nod, already knowing waht she was about to blurt out, and gave Delano a inquisitive look. Here was a boy who seemed to boast more than anything else, yet he claims to have scaled the Heartfall Mountains and traveled all the way here. But he must have . . . the Ibong Adarna are hardly known or seen at all and only someone who's personally seen them would know they change color after each song. Siting back up he looked at Delano, "Well if you say yes to traveling with us I can train you."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"So you've been using your abilities again Matsue?" Rift asked as Eithal leapt into the water to avoid the angry swarm of bees. She nodded her head and sat down, as if she had just been verbally punished, and Crystal looked over to Evelyn and Yaming. Going over to her Yaming sat down, though not without wincing, and motioned to Evelyn as well while Rift and Crystal tried to start the fire; they couldn't depend on Iceis starting it because she only could produce ice. And even if she was a fire-breathing dragon the idea of a dragon starting a single campfire without burning the surrounding forest down isn't very likely. Crouching down Yaming looked up at Matsue, who had her head resting on her knees, "So you're not allowed to use magic or something?"
Though he had been placed in an unfamiliar world with no idea how he got there- at least Garth was with Nix, so he was taking it in stride. Looking up above him he could see the sun shinning in the sky and the clouds surrounding it, the sun drying out his clothing. No idea where he was heading at least Garth couldn't get lost. He continued on for a while and a while after that until he finally heard what sounded like splashing in the water . . . splashing that wasn't too far off!
Garth directed Nix to precede with caution and check out what the noise was. Although he couldn't wait to get out of the water. But splashing water meant an animal or person, and that was worth checking out. Maybe whoever or whatever it was had some useful information of this place. But the person or animal could be dangerous. He readied Nix for attack and prepared to dismount with style. He felt something heavy on his back. Something that he was not used to. He felt his back and felt a leather case that was circular in shape and as he felt more he felt the leather change to rock. He have it a tug and out came a dark looking rock. He had a feeling it was obsidian but that was just a guess due to the weight and color. He noticed a circular button on the staff and pressed it. A blade popped out of the end nearly cutting into his neck.
"Well this may be useful." he thought to himself. And pushed the button again withdrawing the blade. Garth reached the source of the splashing water and it was...
It seemed Rift had gotten after Matsue for using her powers. It wasn't like Rift had been saying like he was disappointed in her but that was how Matsue had taken it. It was certainly curious to Evelyn who didn't see any reason for it. Evelyn took a seat as Yaming did and heard Yaming question Matsue about her powers. Flamme watched Crystal and Rift work for a few minutes on lighting the fire. He sort of chuckled to himself as he watched them work to get the fire going. He knew he could light it very quickly. Still sitting next to Evelyn, he decided to make a comment on it to her.
"It's funny to see them work about it when they could just ask me to do it. It'd be done faster than they could blink." Flamme thought, speaking to Evelyn.
"Then go help them out. I know that's what you want to do so you might as well go do it. Though why you feel this need to show everyone up is beyond me." Evelyn said to her partner. Flamme then walked over and quickly breathed fire onto the pile of wood the two had been working with. It caught fire of course, the fire Flamme breathed was quite hot. And his size prevented him from damaging anything other than the firewood. Evelyn chuckled a little as her partner returned to her side with a triumphant little grin on his face. It was really funny sometimes how her partner tried to impress her. Evelyn returned her attention to Matsue as she was quite curious about what was going on with her.
"You didn't have to pull so hard..." Daena muttered to herself said, rubbing the back of her neck. Still, she wasn't mad, since Adrian was only being eager in helping her search. She didn't even get to hear his parents' response, though she decided to worry about that later now that she's in the library.
The library itself was rather impressive, much like everything else on the estate; she was almost fearful that finding whatever Adrian was looking for would take forever. The boy quickly located one book, though, and tossed it down to Josh, who placed it on a table. Hefty book, too; It could be used as a weapon itself.
"Sir Corie Nomen?" Daena read the title aloud. She moved in next to Josh and flipped open the book. "Is this an biography or something?"
Having examined himself and his partner while they waded through the water Garth found themselves at the source of the splashing. Looking up as Nix stopped he could see a few people, possibly no more than five, in a large boat that was gliding through the water; their oars creating the splashing sound they had heard. Pulling the oars out of the water a man with a large beard shaded his eyes and gazed at the two, "Well I'll be . . . ain't see too many centaur around here."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"Its a second hand account of his life by one of his pages," Adrian said fkipping the book open to show Sir Nomen with a younger man beside him. The man could be mistaken for someone in Adrian's family or it could be someone he would know by the way he looked at the page. Though Adrian and Deana were looking at the page, Josh was staring at the Elder Bow within the picture and then glanced at the actual bow that his friend was carrying on her back. Indeed it looked the same and even had the same markings, but if they were going to look at a book about its first owner how would that lead them to finding their friends?

As Flamme was walking away Iceis got a wide grin on her face and let out a small puff of her ice breath, extinguishing the fire that Flamme had created. She then turned around to attempt to hide her chuckeling and knew that the miniature wyvern wouldn't get too much of a laugh out of it; but then again she was only in it just to entertain herself. Rift and Crystal had moved away from the fire, knowing that the resulting event would be Flamme trying to constantly light the fire while Iceis blew it out, and didn't want to be in between a fire-breather and an ice-breather in competition.

"Well I am but not a lot," Matsue said letting the fire ball dancing on her finger tip to die out. She looked over to Yaming and Evelyn and gave a smile, "I wonder if Rift would let me tell them what I really am?" she wondered.

"Alright then i guess your stuck with me for a while" Delano said looking at the two people. "So how much longer until we reach the station. Me and Kikiania are getting tired of being on this cramped vehicle" Delano said as Kikiania nodded her heads in agreement. "One more than me and Kikiania will have to restock out supplies at the next town as well. So when we get there show us where the supply shops are at" Delano said than looked out the window again looking for the town they will be arriving at. *sigh* "Why does the ride have to be so long. Kikiania moves faster than this piece of scrap metal." Delano said than leaned back onto Kikiania looking up at the ceiling.

Garth said with cautiousness

"Yea I guess so. So, who are you guys and what are you doing out here? What is this place? How did I get here? If you would could you give me a ride out of this swamp. I'm still somewhat wet, and I want to get somewhere dry to process all of this. Oh and what is your name. My name is Garth and my centaur's name is Nix. Garth examined the man from head to toe. He seemed not very hostile so he felt safe and re-sheathed his staff, but he kept his hand on his staff just in case his first ideas of this person were wrong.

Evelyn saw was Iceis was trying to start with Flamme and while she shared in Flamme's obvious frustration with the dragon, she wasn't about to let her get any more enjoyment at Flamme's expense. Flamme was just about to walk over and start the fire again or attack Iceis, it was hard to tell which he meant to do more. Evelyn grabbed Flamme and turned him the other way and with her partner focused back in on Matsue. Evelyn had to do it for herself as much as for Flamme as she didn't want to think about Iceis any more than she had to.

"Let go of me Evelyn." Flamme said to Evelyn. She could tell he was quite angry and she shared in that anger.

"No. You going over is only going to entertain that dragon, not something I'm about to let you do. If you really want to piss her off then just sit here calmly and ignore whatever stupid things she decides to do next. Keep her as bored as she can possibly get." Evelyn said.

"You're just as angry as I am." Flamme said. It sounded like he was still looking for a reason to go over and light the fire once again.

"I am. But just leave her alone. We'll be needing her help for the moment. At least until you're your normal size again. Just calm down. Let's focus on Matsue for a bit, that should take our minds off that dragon." Evelyn said to her partner. Flamme agreed, calmed down, and focused in on Matsue rather than Iceis, though Evelyn kept him close just in case he couldn't stay calm.

"So you can't use your magic for long? What's that all about? I don't see any reason for that. It's not like a little fire is going to hurt you or anyone else. Or is there some sort of limit to how much you can use that's dangerous to go past?" Evelyn said.

"Boy that lad sure does talk a lot," one of the men in the boat blurted out and caused the rest of the group to start laughing; because it was pretty true. Garth had in less than a few minutes asked more than four questions and gave himself an introduction. Leaning over the edge of the boat the man with the beard looked at him, "Well Garth my name is Sammul and your in Lake Muna."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Iceis was ready for whatever the tiny wyvern was going to throw at her, knowing her pure size would be her advantage, but was sauprised when Flamme's partner came around and convinced him to not entertain her; much to her displeasure. She glanced at Rift who was shaking his head, already trying to start the fire again, and she rested her head down with a low grumble. While she waited Evelyn had begun to quesdtion Matsue why she wasn't allowed to use her magic, which made her a bit uncomfertable, "I-Its not magic . . ."
"What do you mean its not magic?" Yaming questioned as she held her own finger up and spoke a quick incantation that lite the end of her finger on fire much like Matsue's, "See magic!"
"Well you need magic to-" Matsue began but was interrupted by Eithal who had managed to dodge the bees chasing him. The goblin licked his fingers, leaving a lot of saliva, and extinguished Yaming's magical flame; the feeling of his saliva sending a shiver down her spin. Once he had done that Eithal walked over to Matsue and gave a smile, "Its alright girl child, can tell you are hybrid. If man child accepted you then two girl children will too!"
"We'll be leaving in about two minutes," Seline said standing up and walking beside Delano; even if Kiki had hissed at her she wouldn't have moved. Sir Irwin remained seated as the sound of the steam train slowing down began to grow louder, ensuring that every passanger would get a nice ending to their trip. Once the sound of the steam escaping the enginee called out Sir Irwin stood up, "Well Delano we need to resupply anyways so lets get going."
"Sorry" Garth said. "Im just new to this world and am trying to figure out what the heck happened to me." Garth looked around and noticed that the lake was much much larger then he first guessed. It spanned miles and miles when Garth originally thought it was just a medium to small sized swamp. The thought then dawned on him, if there were creatures like Nix than what could be lurking right under the surface of the dark murky water, watching them, waiting to strike at any time. The thought sent shivers down Garth's back and Nix shifted from hoof to hoof nervously.
Matsue proceeded to say something about her skills not being magic. Yaming questioned that, even summoning a fireball of her own. Then Eithal mentioned something about it being alright for her to tell them about her being a hybrid. And just what that meant, Evelyn didn't know. But somehow her powers weren't magical and she wasn't completely human. Upon questioning him, Evelyn found Flamme was as ignorant about hybrids and magic that wasn't really magic as she herself was. She had been hoping Flamme would know something but then hadn't expected much.
"For once I'd like you to be able to tell me something about this world." Evelyn said to Flamme. It seemed every time she asked him about something about the Tamers world or things in it he didn't know much if anything at all. It wasn't so much annoying her as much as Evelyn really just wanted her partner to be able to explain some of the world he lived in to her.
"I'm not a scholar, I'm a wyvern. I don't know what you're expecting from me." Flamme responded. Flamme wasn't angry and Evelyn got the point. As she'd known from the beginning, Matsue was the only one who'd be providing any worthwhile information so Evelyn stopped beating around the bush with Flamme and asked Matsue directly.
"If telling us has you concerned you don't have to worry. I doubt any of us would tell anyone about it if you don't want us to. And it's not like we'll suddenly start hating you if you do tell us what this all means. So let's get the most basic questions out of the way. What exactly is a hybrid that Eithal brought up, and how exactly is your fire not magic?" Evelyn said.
"Alrightie finally" Delano said than climbed on Kikiania's back and she started walking following Irwin to the supply shop "Do you know if there is any job board around to take up job requests like kill this or find this and so on" Delano said than remembered "Hey were off the train so give back my Lance" Delano demanded holding out his hand for his lance " And return it back to normal size as well i don't want to be stick fighing with a toothpick." Delano continued on requesting his Lance back so he can polish and sharpening due to no use while on the train ride.
Seeing Garth's sudden shift in comfert, even going so far as to get a shiver, the men on the boat gave another blast of laughter. Holding out his arm the man, called Sammul, offered his hand so he could pull him into the boat, "Sorry . . . Nix was it? But this boat ain't too big for you."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"Awe! I thought you were going to come with us!" Seline said as she watched Delano riding on Kiki. Sir Irwin gave him a glance before quickly using his magic to knock him off and caught him, "Yes there is and you'll be training under me, is that good?"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Hybrids are the children of humans and creatures," Rift said as he sat down next to Matsue, who was turning red and looking away from him. He then gave her a nudge as she nodded her head,m "My mother was a mortal human and my father was a . . . a . . ."
"Girl child's pappa was a salamance in man child form!" Eithal said plopping down beside the fire and warming his hands. Yaming and Crystal looked at each other, getting the basic idea of what Matsue was now. She was not entirely human, but then again she wasn't quite a monster; which is, of course, why she was called a hybrid. Holding up her hand it caught on fire as she waved it around, "That is why my fire isn't magic . . ."
"Its because its a part of you!" Crystal stated as she held the base of her hand, just a few inches away from the fire, and examined it, "Itslike your a super hero or something . . . a Tamer and their partner all rolled up into one!"
Matsue's, or rather Rift's, Eithal's and Crystal's, explanation of what a hybrid was and why the fire Matsue used couldn't be considered magic didn't take very long but it was easy to comprehend. It made sense though it was still odd. The idea of a monster and a human having a child together seemed unnatural or otherworldly to say the least. But then again, this was another world so Evelyn wondered why that feeling should be odd in any way. And though it was certainly odd, Evelyn made sure that the idea wouldn't let her affect her view of Matsue as just a person.
"Matsue doesn't seem to comfortable with the fact that she's a hybrid. So I'm not going to help add to that discomfort if I can avoid it." Evelyn thought. And though she didn't want to make Matsue uncomfortable or self-conscious, Evelyn did have one question.
"So why did I get this feeling from you and Rift that using your powers, or even the idea that you were a hybrid, is a bad thing? I mean, I don't want to press any touchy subjects you might feel uncomfortable answering but that doesn't make much sense to me. Regardless of what you actually are you're still a person. Though I suppose the rest of the world isn't all that accepting of it." Evelyn said.
Orleans France.
Jack was walkling about the streets with a merry grin on his face. He had recently dispatched the police that had been chasing him and Bane and it was still 5 hours till tea. A stray dog approached him and began barking loudly and annoyingly. Bane glared at the stray mutt and it ran in terror. Bane was about to give chase when Jack gave an order. "Now now Bane...don't go and eat the stray animals...you'll spoil your appetite for later. Remember we live on a strict diet of Human, Monster, Tea and cakes!" He said with an eccentric grin on his face. He said as he continued his walk with his hand axe swinging lazily from his hand. "Ohh i'm having trouble finding any Tamers Bane...looks like we're going after REGULARS tonight." He said putting a despairing tone on the word regulars. "Oh well Bane i got to pick last time so this time you pick a house." Bane pointed his nose at a rather large house at the end of the street. "Alrighty then Bane....let's go PLAY with the nice people." He said as him and Bane approached the house with naught but murderous intent.
