Just as she was about to cast her spell, Evelyn noticed an arrow fire and hit right in Sewati's shoulder. When she looked back to see who had fired she noticed Crystal had a bow out and an arrow ready. Evelyn didn't take long to realize that Crystal had a much better chance of taking down Sewati than she did with her currently hard to control spell. Upon Crystal's call to move she stopped the spell, closed the tome and ran off to the side to get out of Crystal's line of fire. After getting to the side she began to move back to Crystal's position as she wanted to put whatever distance she could between herself and Sewati. She could tell that Flamme seemed relieved the moment she stopped charging her spell as he was pulling on her after she closed her tome.

"So what now? Just leave it all to the girl? I really need to get her name after all of this is over. But will she be okay on her own?" Evelyn thought. Flamme must have heard the thought as he responded.

"She's the only one at the moment that can reliably hurt that monster so yes, we'll leave it to her." Flamme said to Evelyn.

"Evelyn get out of the way now!" Crystal half screamed half demanded once the arrow was pulled taunt. Evelyn didn't take long to realize that Crystal had a much better chance of taking down Sewati than she did. Now beside Crystal herself she could tell that Flamme seemed relieved the moment she had stopped charging her spell, as he was pulling on her after she closed her tome, "So what now? Just leave it all to the girl? I really need to get her name after all of this is over. But will she be okay on her own?" Evelyn thought.

"She's the only one at the moment that can reliably hurt that monster so yes, we'll leave it to her," Flamme responded, somehow knowing what his partner had thought. With one final bellow Sewati hunched over, bared his fangs, and sprinted towards Evelyn, Flamme and Crystal. Breathing steadily, her heartbeat the only noise she could hear, Crystal closed her eyes for a moment and then opened them back up. With incredibly accuracy she released the arrow, the string humming in release, and it whizzed through the air and right into Sewati; the arrow slicing through flesh and muscle before being stuck into actual bone. Toppeling over Sewati's body rose for a minute and finally fell to the ground, the arrow still moving slightly back and forth on his forehead, and the first light of day finally reached them. The more sunlight that landed on his frame the more it appeared as if Sewati was shedding, the fur falling in clumps and bundles while he reverted back to his human form. It took no more than three minutes for the transformation to be complete, and by then the sun was in full view.

"I-I can't . . . I think I'm going to faint," Crystal mentioned letting herself sit down and try to calm down. Setting the long bow beside her Crystal held her head between her knees, trying to make excuses for her actions, and then lifted her head back up when the sound of footsteps appeared. 'Here's a body!' a voice called out, followed by a woman's shrill scream, and then another 'This one's still alive!' Looking at each other Crystal and Evelyn new it was the villagers, but would they consider them outlaws for killing Sewati? Or as more survivors?

The night air was crisp and cold on the beach, even with the tiny fire to keep them warm. Eithal by now had somehow, despite the cold, fallen fast asleep and was snoring extremely loud; his foot twitching occassionally as he dreamt. Rift, who sat in front of Iceis, glanced over to see Matsue shivering next to the fire and wringed his hands to try to warm them up too. Lifting him bottom up he was about to scoot over beside her, but two big blue wings wrapped around them both up. Grinning Iceis pulled them in close to her, dropping them beside each other, and then made her wing fold out like a makeshift tent, "That should make do . . ."

Laying her head back down Iceis drifted to a deep sleep. Feeling Matsue's head on his shoulder, since it was a confinded space, Rift began to blush as much as she was. Resting their heads against each other Rift and Matsue smiled at each other, only to be interrupted by Eithal's snores, and Matsue kicked the little goblin out from underneath the wing; making Rift laugh. Rift and Matsue were a little close to each other, but they couldn't say it was a bad situation, and they soon both fell asleep.

With the rays of sunlight being filtered through Iceis' wings beating down on them Rift gave a small moan, not wanting to get up, and finally opened a single eye when the dragon moved her wing. Yawning Rift could see the fire that they had lit last night was gone and the Eithal, who hadn't woken up after being kicked out, was sleeping sprawled out on the beach. Looking down he could see Matsue sleeping, using his lap as a pillow, and her hair covering a bit of her face. Before he could gently wake her up Iceis let out a roar that made everyone jump to their feet, Matsue knocking Rift over as she looked around confused. Stretching on the beach Iceis beat her wings, getting the sleep out of them, and asked Matsue, "Which way to the nearest town?"

"Yes girl child, which way?" Eithal added in, licking his chocolate covered lips, "Man child has ran out of tasties and other goodies."

"I guess that'd be Roaxs," Matsue said watching Rift chase Eithal around, an empty bag in one hand, and she couldn't help but giggle. She had been saved by some odd people indeed.

"W-What? Really?!" John asked, completely stunned that this unemotional little brat was actually going to take then in, so to speak.

"Yeah, I'm surprised too," Daena said outloud. John sounded as surprised and confused as she was, "So, if I may speak, what's so interesting about us that caught your interest? I mean, we're just foreigners trying to find our way home, really."

Daena didn't notice she let it slip that they were lost, and continued to speak anyway, "Of course we're grateful for your hospitality and kindness, but Irenia and that guard were fighting back there! I, at least, am still on edge from the entire incident!"

"Well there is no need to be on edge anymore," Adrian said taking hold of Deana's hands, cupping them in his own, though he still showed no emotion. Looking outside Jericho mentioned the sunrise and John and Deana could see it, a beautiful display of gold, red, orange, yellow and just the tiniest traces of the night sky remaining. The neighing of horses came into distance and Adrian leaned back in his seat, a final show of emotion on his face in the form of a smile, "It seems we are home."

Opening the curtains John, Deana and Irenia could see a massive home about four stories high with marble everywhere. It looked like something you'd expect out of a movie or see in the old south. Needless to say it was astounding.

"Hmmm," Delano mused to himself looking at the bird and then the sights, "A singing bird and a great view. The only thing missing is a nice dinner and a beautiful girl."

He chukled as he thought how much he sounded like a random side character on tv, always making sarcastic remarks and never doing much. Kiki turned to him and snorted annoyed, the first signs of the sun breaking through the clouds, and Delano laughed, "Yeah, yeah I know . . . I'm in this world, not my own. I can't help it that I have to talk. Not like some random person is going to climb up this mountain just to carry on a conversation with me, eh?"

The sun now in full view Delano stood up, popping his back and giving a low groan, had he fallen asleep at all last night? Scratching the back of his head he hopped on Kiki and grinned, "I guess it's time to get to the top of this thing."

Shaking one of her heads Kiki slithered out of the platue's entrance and began to climb once more. It was either get to the top today or be stuck on the side of a cliff at night. She could only hope they'd reach the top.

"Alright up to the top of the mountain" Delano shouted as Kikiania climbed. "I wonder if there is a dragon or mountain troll on these mountains, but we will never know until we reach the top" Delano said to Kikiania as she continued climbing than snorted like it would not matter if a beast shown up. "If a beast did should up your heads combined with my lancing should beable take it down. Infact we could just joust against the beast but replace the horse with a powerful multi-headed beast" Delano said as Kikiania had a small grin on her faces

"I see. Then eat what you wish, but carefully," Sven said. He watched the kid couph after eating so much and didn't know the cause. Then as the kid got up and left, Sven followed him to the door and watched him go out. "He could have stayed here. Do I chase after him or stay here," he said to himself. Trago was still working on the apple when Sven looked over at him and he decided to let him go. Sven walked over to the bed and layed on it while his feet sat on the ground. It had been a long journey till this point and he needed some good rest. He closed his eyes and drifted to sleep.

" Well let's head their....Iceis can you fly all of us?" Rift asked. Iceis swung her head around to meet Rifts face and answered " of corse I can but if 'he' gets chocolate on my back !" Iceis didn't finish her sentence, but let the ending be what ever they would imagen. She then exstended her front fore leg, so that they all could get on. first was Ethral who bounded up and sat at the base of her neck. Next Rift helped Matsue, up Iceis leg. She found her seat right behind Ethral. Rift then hoped up andsat behind her. He was their to hold them in place.

Iceis then rose to her full higth, then swung her head around to see if her riders where ready , once Rift gave the signal, she jumped up. Then useing her massive wings, she drove them to the ground with such force that she started to clime higher in to the air. Once she was about 100 feet in the air , she started to made a circle.

"whats wrong " Rift shouted.

" I dont know the way .....duh!!....atsue which way is the town?" Iceis said with a chukkle.

Before Evelyn knew what was going on she saw three dead in front of her. Sewati, Andrew, and Yaming all dead within the same few minutes. As Crystal sat down, Evelyn too fell to the ground, her hands behind herself to keep from falling. Her tome fell the ground and opened to a random page, it faced down.

"That nightmare is over." Evelyn said under her breath at first. But then as she continued looking at the group tears came to her eyes.

"Why did this have to happen? They were the first people I found after being separated. They were so nice to me... why? All three of them dead!" Evelyn said. She was now leaning forward as opposed to back and had her right hand over her mouth as she began crying.

As she sat there there were voices off in the distance. The sun had begun to rise and it sounded like people were out looking for survivors of the night's horrors. Evelyn wasn't concerned with the people. She couldn't move, not yet anyway. She wasn't concerned with what happened, too much had happened already. Then her thoughts turned to Flamme who had yet to say anything.

"If Sewati died, does that mean his spell died with him? If I'm going to continue on then I'll need Flamme at full size." Evelyn thought. She began looking around the area for her partner who was no longer tugging at her side to get her to move.

The sound of Crystal heaving was enough to make her own stomach turn, the reality still sinking in, and Evelyn was now leaning forward as opposed to back; her right hand over her mouth as she began crying. As the two attempted to recover from their ordeal there there were voices off in the distance. Standing up, shakingly, Crystal grabbed Evelyn's wrist and tried to pull her up, "Come on we need to go-"

"Over there!" someone called as the villagers finally appeared through the woods. The people seemed to be carrying something as they approached and only when they were close enough to see clearly did Crystal and Evelyn notice it was Yaming; carried on a stretcher with bandages over her entire body.

Extending her front right leg for everyone so they all could get on. Flying high in the air Iceis began to make circles, confusing Rift, "What's wrong?"

"I don't know the way- Duh!" Iceis said with a chukkle, making Rift himself laugh that he hadn't remembered somehting like that. Looking over his shoulder he nodded to Matsue, who pointed to their right, "Roaxs should be that way!"

Nodding her head Iceis flapped her wings and soared towards their destination, the sun to their backs.

Evelyn had no plans on moving for a bit as she continued to sit there and cry. Though at Crystal's prompting, Evelyn got up. Her tears slowed as did her sobbing. She grabbed her tome, put it away with her Tamers system and began walking with Crystal. She would have kept looking around for Flamme but something else caught her attention. This something was enough to make her completely forget about looking for her partner because it was unbelievable. The villagers seemed to be carrying someone with a stretcher. And though the person was completely bandaged, it was clear the person was Yaming. Evelyn immediately began running over to see i Yaming was really alive. If even one of the three had lived it would be far more than Evelyn could have ever hoped to ask for.

"Wait! Please! That girl... is she really alive?" Evelyn began calling out as she approached the mass of villagers.

One of the villagers, an old man, nodded his head though he stopped her, "Yes she is, were you a part of what happened last night?"

Without having to answer the man knew she and Crystal had been, bloodied and bruised all over, and stepped aside. Two men moved Yaming over beside Crystal and Evelyn, her face was completely wrapped in bandages so that only her left eye was showing. Smiling she weakly held out her hand, "Everyone alright?"

The villagers let Evelyn and Crystal through to see Yaming after confirming that she was indeed alive. It was very good news to Evelyn and she thanked the man who had spoken to her as she moved to Yaming. Evelyn grabbed hold of Yaming's hand as she weakly held it out. Evelyn knelt down to talk with her. She asked if everyone was okay. It was a tough question for Evelyn. Going about answering it would prove difficult.

"What am I supposed to say? Sewati and Andrew are dead. She can't hear that... not now anyway. When she's stronger maybe. But right now, that sort of thing might kill her." Evelyn thought. Evelyn smiled and did her best to keep her tears from coming. She then nodded her head as a sort of first response to Yaming's question.

"Yeah, don't worry. Everyone's okay. Sewati turned back and he's out for the moment... Andrew got hurt pretty bad like you but he'll be okay... and we're fine. Don't worry about anyone else right now Yaming. Just make sure you live through this." Evelyn said.

"We are kinda low on supplies so lets head to the base" Delano said to Kikiania. Kikiania started walking towards the base "Hopefully its not deserted or full of bandits. O wait if there were bandits then we could just kill them all and take their supplies" Delano laughed. Kikiania grinned when he said if there were bandits she could kill them all. "Looks like you're also wanting to fight i see. Well if we have to this we can maybe go all out on the foe" Delano said to Kikiania as she walked throughs the base.

Sven rubbed his eyes upon seeing the woman from earlier and allowed her to enter. "Yeah. sure," he said lazily as he let her in. Once she had entered he closed the door and walked past her to the table. Trago hopped off the bed and sat on the floor next to it, wagging his fox tail. "So what is your name? I never got it from before," he asked her while walking over to the table. Trago watched them go to the table and just turned his body as they walked past. Sven offered her a chair and sat in the other one himself.

Irenia wanted to strike down Adrian for touching Daena as he was, but kept quiet, keeping her emotions bottled up. She didn't want to worry Daena, after all. It was comforting for Irenia that Daena didn't react much to Adrian's advances, though she wished that she would have said something, or at least showed that she was uncomfortable. Instead of saying anything, she kept holding on to the inside of Daena's robe, plotting on ways to escape. Unfortunately, the only plans she could think of involve blasting enemies with wind... and she knows firsthand how that would probably turn out.

Although Adrian said that there was no reason to be on edge, Daena still felt uneasy. Still, the scenery was beautiful, and before long they reached their destination.

"So you're taking us to your home?" Daena said to Adrian, raising her eyebrow.

A-Andrew got hurt pretty bad, like you, but he'll be okay . . . and we're fine. Don't worry about anyone else right now Yaming, just make sure you get better."

Lowering her eyes Yaming's breathing remained deep and slow, her wounds making it difficult to breath, and then she slowly turned her head to Crystal. Keeping her eyes on Crystal she lowered her head and told the truth, that Andrew was dead and that she had killed Sewati to save themselves; this completely stunning not only the villagers but Evelyn herself. Looking at the sky Yaming's eyes started to water, and she didn't even attempt to stop them from flowing down her cheeks, "At least you're both . . . alright . . ."

"No one blames you child," one of the villagers told Crystal putting a hand on her shoulder. Most of the villagers would agree that Sewati, due to his nature as a were-creature, was bound to be killed during one of his transformations wiether it be by accident or not. Leading everyone back to the village the townsfolk placed Yaming back in one of the house's beds and then lead Crystal and Evelyn towards a barn. Inside was Flamme, injured but alive, his wing wrapped in bandages and having remained in his diminutive size.

Hearing the carrage slow to a stop the door swung open, another guard opening the door from the outside, and Jericho stepped out first. Following the personal guard Adrian himself stepped out and held his hand out for Daena, only to have John push past him, and he grumbled to himself as he repeated the guisture, "Coming?"

Delano laughed at the though, even Kiki grinned at the thought, and both soon found themselves at the base of the mountain with the sunnow at it's peek in the sky. Looking out at the vast plains in front of them Delano and Kiki could see what looked like a town in the city- but something ahead of them was catching their attention a lot more. A white pillow of smoke was moving across the plains towards the town. So what just was heading towards the village?

Getting up and heading towards the door he opened it to see the same woman from the other day, a basket drapped over her shoulder, "I thought you would care for something to eat."

"Yeah sure," Sven said allowing her to enter, rubbing his eyes a couple times to convince him he wasn't dreaming. Once she had entered he closed the door and walked past her to the table, offering her a chair which she gratfully took, and then sat in the other one himself. Trago hopped off the bed and sat on the floor next to Sven, wagging his fox tail, "So what is your name? I never got it from before."

"You may call me Lilith," the woman said pulling back her hood out of respect, showing her snow white hair and deep brown eyes, and then took out a piece of bread. Snapping it in half she handed a piece to Sven and placed the other on the table, "I must say I am very suprised by your actions last night. Most people would generally shun a Emere when they meet one."

Before Sven could ask 'what a Emere was' a hand appeared from the table, patted around a bit and finally took the piece of bread. Walking out from under the table the kid who Sven had helpped yesterday smiled and waved his hand, taking a bite out of the piece of bread Lilith had offered him.

Evelyn was shocked but didn't really react when Crystal told Yaming the truth. She didn't know why she didn't react. She felt like she was supposed to be getting angry but she wasn't. Evelyn then heard the villagers speak to Crystal. They seemed too accustomed to death. They didn't blame Crystal for Sewati's or Andrew's death. They spoke like death was common. Perhaps it was easy to view death that way, when it didn't directly affect you. But for Yaming, the two lost could not just be shrugged off.

They began following the group of people to a home where they set Yaming to rest. Evelyn had been relatively quiet the way over but what was inside set her off. Flamme was there, injured and still at his small three foot size as opposed to his usual fourteen foot size. Evelyn rushed over and started hugging her partner. Flamme always disliked such awkward things.

"Flamme! I was so worried about you! I'm so sorry! I didn't think to much of it when you weren't next to me. I thought you'd be fine." Evelyn said. She was ready to cry again.

"Don't blame yourself. It was my mistake that got me hurt. I got too far away from you and got attacked by one of the retreating creatures. But don't you start feeling bad about it, I'm not hurt that bad. ...And if you could stop moving my wings around, I'd appreciate it." Flamme told Evelyn. Evelyn backed off and apologized. Looking at her partner she realized she'd have to get on undoing Sewati's spell. She'd have to wait for Yaming to recover before she could hope to go about that though.

Evelyn then got up to face the group of villagers. She owed them for helping two friends now.

"Thank you for tending to my partner. I'm surprised you didn't think he was dangerous. Regardless, I'm grateful." She said motioning to Flamme. Evelyn then made her way to Crystal to ask the one question she'd been meaning to ask for a bit.

"Funny thing is, after seeing you at the tournament and then all of this, I still don't know your name. So I'd like to make our meeting official. My name is Evelyn Laurent." Evelyn said managing a smile as she held her right hand out to Crystal.

The villagers calmly nodded their collective heads and explained that a wyvern, no matter what size, should generally have an owner around so they had figured his was close by. Giving their regards they turned and went to go tend to Yaming's state. Now alone Evelyn addressed Crystal, talking about how she still didn't know her name, and that she wanted to make the meeting official. Clasping her hand Crystal smiled, liking the idea of making their meeting official, "My name is Crystal Shashaiti. So now the question is what to do next. I guess you'd like to get Flamme back to his normal size."

"Hm.. looks like we may have a fight on our hands. kikiania full charge and follow that thing" Delano said. Kikiania roared than give chase to the puff of smoke. "Hopefully its a beast to fight. Maybe we can get a reward from the townspeople if its a creature thats been terrorizing the town" Delano said as he smile while Kikiania continued following the figure. Delano ready his lance and sheild into his hand preparing for battle.

As Delano and Kiki got closer a somewhat familiar sound could be heard. Ever closer the sound grew and grew, until what they were actually following was in good view. What was at first nothing more than a pillow of white smoke was actually an old fashioned, steam driven, train rumbeling along its bronze tracks. Clacking along it's path Delano couldn't attack it, which would be bad, and also knew there'd be no reward for any 'defeated monster'. Bad luck I guess . . .

"Well then Crystal, it's nice to finally know your name." Evelyn said. Crystal then asked about what to do now and about Flamme. "Yeah" Evelyn said with a bit of a weak laugh. "It would be nice to have that feeling of protection back, especially after this past night. Sewati, the were-bear, was the one who cast the spell to make him smaller so that he could come into town without frightening the villagers senseless. I thought it might have ended when Sewati... died. But that's not the case it seems, and that only complicates the matter. It's definitely magic I don't understand how to perform. I'll need help, help from Sewati's students. And Yaming is most likely the only one who'll be of any help. Her and Andrew were the top of the class from what I gathered." Evelyn said.

"Isn't there something faster?" Flamme asked Evelyn. He didn't like the idea of waiting for Yaming to recover to regain his size. It had obviously been quite long enough for him since he'd been his proper size.

"What do you expect me to do? Make Yaming heal faster? It can't happen." Evelyn told her partner.

"I don't want to be in a state where I can't protect you anymore Evelyn. We need to find a quick solution." Flamme said.

"I know. Don't worry, we'll get it to happen. I won't let you stay like that forever." Evelyn said to him. Then a thought hit Evelyn.

"A bit of a random thought Crystal, but what happened to your partner?" Evelyn asked.

Crystal had been thinking of a way to help Flamme and Evelyn with their problem so much that it took her a minute to actuall notice she was being spoken too. Lifting her head she looked over and the question finally ran through her mind, causing her to look down again, "When I first got here . . . I got so mixed up in things I lost her . . ."

A silence wafted over the three as her words drifted about the room. Lost? Then did that mean Crystal had lost her partner . . . forever? Her mind escaping to the past Crystal noticed the dishearted look in her new friend's eyes and gave a weak smile, "She's not "lost" lost . . . she was taken from me about three months ago, so I took that job in the tavern to save up enough money to get her back."

Digging into her pockets Crystal revealed about twenty copper crowns that she had scrounged and saved to free her partner. A sudden thought then ran through her mind, "Evelyn! I think I know a way to help you and Flamme!"

"Well, all I can say is that it has something to do with my past and how I was raised," Sven said while taking the piece of bread. He looked down as if saddened by the thought of his past, but no tears came. Then he took a piece of bread off of his own and handed it to Trago, who gratefully ate it. "I suspect Axel here is an Emere," he stated as he saw Axel eating the bread. Sven then looked up to Lilith before looking at the bread in his hands. He took a bite out of his piece and ate it slowly, savoring its taste. Once he swallowed he began to speak again, "So why are you and Axel here?"

"I just came by to be a bit friendly I suppose," Lilith said looking over to Axel, winking at him with a grin, and tried not to laugh when he blushed. She took some cheese out of the basket and cut it for everyone, "So are you really ok with being around an Erme? Most people try to banish them the second they know- like those people last night."

Axel gave a loud gulp, choking a bit on the cheese, once Lilith mentioned banishment and had to hit his head on the table to get it down. Wipping the sweat off his face he then looked at Sven, curious himself if Sven knew what he actually was.

"I can say I'm ok with it, only because of my past. Do you truly wish to know my past to understand why I am, who I am?" Sven asked. He took some cheese and gave some to Trago while he himself took a bite. Then he looked up at Lilith showing obvious unwanting to reveal his past to someone, especially someone he didn't know. This wasn't just because he hated to be around people however, just pure not wanting to dwell in his past. He then took another bote of bread and cheese and waited her reply.

"All that got my hopes up" Delano said disappionted as he put his weapon away "Well let's head towards the closest shop and get supplies than look around town to see if we can get any jobs" Delano said as Kikiania walked around looking for a store to buy supplies with a hint of disappiontment in her movements. "Maybe we can even find a job that involves killing something" Delano said to Kikiania as he looked up at the sky

Evelyn started regretting that she'd brought up Crystal's partner. As Crystal told of how she lost her partner Evelyn started feeling sorry for her. It didn't seem like something Crystal wanted to dwell on but at least it seemed she was close to getting her partner back. Evelyn decided in her mind right there that she'd help Crystal get her partner back anyway she could. Though what she could possibly do to help was far beyond her. Then of all things Crystal said she thought she knew how to help Flamme. The idea was sudden but she seemed excited.

"Really?!" Evelyn said, Crystal's sudden excitement suddenly passing to her. "Well what do you have in mind?" she asked. The idea that something might get back Flamme back to his normal size was very appealing, both to Evelyn and Flamme. Both fixed their attention on Crystal as they eagerly listened for what her idea was.
