When Master Chief fired the Halo Ring, him and cortana got stranded in deep space. Basically, nobody would be able to find him for years. He entered cryogenic sleep so he wouldn't die of old age, he wouldn't require oxygen, etc... There probably won't be a sequel to HALO per say, but there definitely could be another game based in the HALO universe.[attachment=17654](this is what halo4 would look like)

There will be Halo Wars, for the PC, comming out next year. Its not another Halo, however; it's a strategic game. For those of you who've played Civilization, Age Of Empires, etc, Halo Wars is going to be just like them, only it takes place BEFORE Halo 1.

Long story short, Halo explodes (again), and Master Chief and The Arbiter escape on the Dawn cruiser. They head to the portal to get back to Earth, but the explosion was so powerful, it ripped the cruiser in half, forcing the front end with The Arbiter to hurtle towards Earth (since he was piloting the ship back to Earth in the bridge), leaving the back end, with Chief and Cortana behind.

Yes, if you beat it (on Heroic or Legendary, I do not know), you'll see the cruiser comming up upon a massive blue outline with scary and dramatic music playing in the background, as a massive light from the outline blinds you.

Either another planet or another Halo, we don't know. We'll just have to wait and see what Bungie'll do next.

Apparently he is gets left somewhere and heads towards some green planet. Don't quote me on that. One of my friends told me that like, a month ago. :P

Halo 4? I'm pretty sure Bungie's contract with Microsoft ends after Halo Wars, so Halo 4 wouldn't even be possible unless they extended the contract. I hope they don't make Halo 4. 3 main games and a spin-off are (more than) enough. Plus, the more Halo games come out, there will be an increase in the amount of groundless fandom I'll have to endure. :(

They should just leave it open for speculation. Thats what they do for many of the games I play. I think it works better when an open ending is pulled of right.

Below is an actual spoiler. Its from Tales of the Abyss.... if any of you care...

Asch, one of the main characters, dies. Luke, the main character, happens to be his Replica, or clone. After the final boss is beaten, Luke says he'll stay behind to make sure the world gets saved and stuff like that. He said he'd come back, but it doesn't look likely. While there, he notices Asch, who is dead. Luke and Lorelei, who is pretty much God in the Tales of the Abyss world, help save him. After some fancy light show with Luke and Asch, the credits roll. After the credits, its apparently 3 years later, and the rest of party is waiting for Luke to show up. Eventually, Luke walks up, but you can't see his face. It should be noted that is clothes are kinda like a combination of his and Asch's. His hair is also like a combination of his and Asch's. Same color, but different style. His voice is also slightly different. Kinda the same, but noticeably different. Anyway, the game ends there, and its not really clear if it's really Luke, Asch, or a combination of both. (This whole example of a perfect ending wasn't even very clear. :P) Namco even said its up for the players to decide. I personally think its really Luke by the way. ;-)

Anyway, that is an example of a good open ending.

If anyone actually read all of that and understood that, you get a cookie.

You are right most games do it incase the game does well and they can make another' date=' but if it's a flop the don' need to make another, they just let people deside what they think happens

Most of the time, if the game does well, they'll make a sequel. Its the sequel that usually flops. Some games flop and they still make sequels. And some of the best games don't have sequels (or at least direct sequels). In Abyss's case, in Japan, it became Player's Choice. It won't get a sequel. In America, it was a huge flop, and it won't get a sequel. And if for some reason there was, it would never leave Japan.

Oh yeah, you can have a cookie. (::)
