Jappio
Being bored in a class today, I did some spritings. Decided to randomly sprite a good friend's RP character, Red Ryu. A little fox guy with wind power essentially. Did a bunch at school, final touches at home when I was able to talk to him about some details. I attempted to do him in Disgaea style. Jappio
Well, seems my little Ryu sprite was for the most part just a glorified bump. I guess I got like two responses to it, but both being two word responses doesn't really make them feel so substantial. Perhaps something a little more popular than a friend's RP character. I decided I'd just take some requests from some real life friends of mine. Now I won't lie, I did enjoy Yu-Gi-Oh at one time. Well a good friend of mine happens to enjoy the said game still, and requested I do a specific monster. He was smart and picked a monster that back then I liked, and still to this day have a respect for. He is called the Summoned Skull if you don't know or can't tell. I first wanted to do this guy in the M&L3 style, but I can say that I really was just doing my own thing at some point, so I kind of gave up on the goal. Althemia
Little Ryu looks awesome. I think he could prob be mistaken for a Disgaea character if some people saw him. Summoned Skull looks absolutely amazing. His detail is completely brilliant, even his eyes look as if they are straight off of the card. Overall, these new sprites are excellent additions and I love them so.
fenrir
Now, I love Summon Skull, as it's my favorite YGO monster so far. Now, I can't say you did it justice, but I do like it. The only thing about it that's bothering me is the pose, which is something of your works that peeves me sometimes. The detail is great, and the coloring is dead on. The pose however, is generally lacking. So Summoned Skull is standing there, but he isn't doing much else. In fact, it sort of looks like he's staring off into the distance. I would recommend a more frontal pose, as that would suit him more, but I won't go there. I don't really know why I'm posting right now actually, but I guess I just wanted to give you a bump(?) and just to tell you something you should improve(?) on. Still great looking splices ;D
Jappio
Dude, don't be sorry for posting and commenting. You gave C+C, and I love C+C. I'll agree my poses are lacking. I avoid frontal facing poses as those generally are big no-noes in spriting. However his pose is very inactive. I guess when thinking about, it's mainly the legs I probably got too lazy with pose. The arms are pretty similar to the card art in my opinion. Again though, thanks. I will try to do better with my poses knowing they are lacking. I'm happy to know though you think my shading and stuff is right though. Argubally bumping my topic is a tad silly as I'm a sticky thread though =P
Toffee.
Hey Jappio, what happened to the images from your 'contest'?(Maybe post them on the 1st page?) Oh, and.....This >>>>>> Bowser Seriously, Mario would just drop dead, at seeing that at the end of the castle. Its just how epic it is.
Jappio
I'm afraid I'm not sure what you're talking about. I've been in a lot of contests.
Icy
I'm afraid I'm not sure what you're talking about. I've been in a lot of contests. The one where you selected 2 people, and made sprites for them.
Jappio
Oh, the raffle, I was thrown off by the word contest I guess. Well one of them is up there. The other I was just planning to throw on my next splice sheet once I get a little bit fixed with it.
Jappio
First order of business, the thing on the top left is the thing I made for the 2nd winner of my raffle. He requested I do something known as Genesic GaoGaiGar. I didn't know what it was, but google helped out with my understanding of what it looked like. A couple of requests as usual on here too. Last three are ones I came up with. The sheet in general does seem small, but I didn't get much requests, which is fine.
Icy
Thanks for making my request ^^.Honcreon is awesome. So is Senscar. =D EDIT~ Jappios Latest Sheet from the Previous Page
Toffee.
Next time I switch my avatar' date=' Im using that Poke-GaiGar image. Its just [i']that[/i] good ;)And I like how you edited Zapdos' wings, to make the GaoGaiGar wings. The Regice/Cubone is interesting. It seems like you used the same "Make it looks lime Porygon"-style, which is awesome :3 And that bottom right one has given me an idea, to make a possible splice to resemble J and/or Pizza from GaoGaiGar. Since Pupitar's "Mask" would make ideal hair for it.
Tortoise Kyle
Still awesome in my opinion. The angry face on the first setret gliscor was weird though...

Jappio
More Super Poke World sprites done. This time around I showcase off some Raichu sprites. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pIo5NlgZkWI
Tortoise Kyle
It seemed like there was one sprite of fire raichu in mid air throwing a fireball that was mario. It was only there for half a second so I bet it was only 1 sprite. Love the raichu sprites though!
Jappio
Read the description of the video, I am aware of such a thing.
Tortoise Kyle
Oops. Why didn't you do it before making the video?
Jappio
I had missed it and overall, it's nothing too special. I mean it was some laziness, but that one sprite I don't think would have changed the video all that much anyways. It got the job done what I wanted it to do, show off how Raichu is looking. Toffee.
@2:33 - Mario, with Raichu's head. The completed game is going to look epicBy the way Jappio, do you plan to edit the scenery at all? O,o
Jappio
Well I do want to do all sprites, including background and tiles, but if I get to it all is the question. There are a lot of graphics.
Jappio
One update, as I expected, I didn't place in that big competition I was going on about before, the one run by Arkeis. Not sure if anyone cares, but figured I'd mention since I made a big deal about it before. Ok I just finished a new sprite. This time I decided to take the character Rita Mordio from the game Tales of Vesperia, for 360 and PS3 (PS3 Japan only right now). No particular style or anything. I decided to try doing it boarderless. I did her pose when she casts Indignation in the PS3 version. Reference picture of character in case if you don't know the genius mage that she is:http://www.city-data.com/forum/image.php?u=129085&dateline=1236349363&type=profile
