Guest Supreme Gamesmaster
This one is an RPG proper, and it's really hard to make an RP of Touhou, so bear with me.[spoiler=Plot]Reimu Hakurei has dropped off the face of the earth. This is, needless to say, a bad thing. To rectify this problem, Yukari Yakumo sent all of Gensokyo through a gap to another dimension, attempting to hide it from the outside world. The reason why they didn't just do that to begin with became clear when Yukari disappeared partway through, leaving everyone in Gensokyo stuck in a gap. This is where you pick your plotline. Each group starts in a different place, and unless you are that group, you'll need to find the main group before making much progress. Remember that teamwork is essential, and that no one is going to go anywhere if too much conflict is involved. MARISA: Minimal investigation by Marisa Kirisame proved that the gap's inhabitants knew something about Reimu's whereabouts. Finding the shrine maiden would solve all of Gensokyo's problems, so she and her male friend Rinnosuke Morichika have set out to save Reimu from the gap. YUYUKO: Yuyuko Saigyouji, meanwhile, has discovered that the gap's numerous factions are generally set against the newcomers from Gensokyo. She and her gardener, Youmu Konpaku, have hidden with a small group of sorceresses who are seeking the real, far more sinister reason for the gap's xenophobia. SANAE: Monsters abound in the gap, and poor Sanae has wound up in a rather wild section of it. She's determined to purge the politically powerful (!) city she's wound up in of its monstrous attackers, and to do so, she's enlisted another of Kanako's contractees, Utsuho Reiuji, and Utsuho's friend Rin Kaenbyou. ALICE: Alice Margatroid has determined that finding Yukari and completing the transfer to Mars should be the first step in solving the mystery of Reimu's disappearance; Yukari and her shikigami would be ideal allies in seeking Reimu. She and Reimu's 'family,' Genjii and Ruukoto, have set out to accomplish this goal. [spoiler=Combat]Anyone ever heard of 東方の迷宮, a.k.a. Labyrinth of Touhou? If not, go download it; it can be found at the Giant in the Playground forums, and it's perhaps the most epic Etrian Odyssey clone evar. For those who have heard of it, most combat is as in that game — the plot is similar, after all, and everyone's power levels have been appropriately reset — but your spell cards are different and more danmaku-y, normal attacks are calculated differently, and there's an absolute variance of 10% on everything. [spoiler=Application]Say who you'd like to be and I'll see. The stronger the character, the better you have to be at RPing (read: balancing) to be accepted. Stage 1 bosses can be anyone; Stage 6 bosses and EX minibosses need people at my level (it would be rather arrogant to demand more). Miniboss appearances, cameos, and the Phantasmagoriae don't count. The six-stage stories in Scarlet Weather Rhapsody and Unthinkable Natural Law, however, do. The highest possible eligible stage is applied, so Suwako is Stage EX and therefore unusable. Characters not present in the Windows series (e.g. Mima) are bumped down a stage by virtue of general irrelevance and lack of named Spell Cards. Most characters come in groups — Remilia and Sakuya, Yuyuko and Youmu, Aya and Momiji, Meira and Konngara, Marisa and Rinnosuke, et cetera. Some groups are larger (Cirno, Daiyousei, Sunnymilk, Lunarchild, and Starsapphire come to mind), while others work alone, though these are mostly Stage 1 characters no one will apply for anyway. The highest stage possible applies to each group. I'll tell you about the group your character is in after you apply. People who take the characters necessary to begin will be allowed to take another group; they'll be skilled enough anyway, since they're all Stage 5 or 6. [spoiler=NPCs]These characters cannot be controlled except by me or under dire circumstances, either because they're too powerful (Kanako, the EX-stage bosses), plot reasons (Maribel, Renko), or both (Reimu, Yukari).Reimu HakureiAll Extra Stage BossesYukari YakumoChen YakumoTenshi HinanaiKanako YasakaMaribel HanRenko UsamiKaguya AgasaYuka KazamiMimaKomachi OnodzukaShikieiki Yamaxanadu [spoiler=Accepted Characters]We will begin when the following characters are taken.[*]Yuyuko Saigyouji and Youmu Konpaku:[*]Marisa Kirisame and Rinnosuke Morichika:[*]Sanae Kochiya, Utsuho Reiuji, and Rin Kaenbyou:[*]Alice Margatroid, Genjii, and Ruukoto:However, other characters will be necessary for tactical success. A hideously inaccurate spell with a great deal of power if it hits. High-MND enemies still have nothing to fear.Asteroid Belt: 52 SP. ACR +10. MYS element. A powerful spell that can wipe out entire enemy parties under the right circumstances. It's not useful at all against bosses, though.Master Spark: 160 SP. ACR +0. MYS element. The demonic annihilation of love, perfected by Marisa for use against a single foe. All her SP go into one brutal assault.Event Horizon: 72 SP. ACR +0. Increases Marisa's MAG and reduces an enemy's MND and SPD. The perfect prelude to a Master Spark, but far too expensive anywhere else. Rinnosuke hurls a small device at a single enemy, inflicting FIR damage. The enemy's DEF and MND are lowered; that's the spell's real use.Mysterious Steel Dragon: 88 SP. ACR -10. FIR element. A metal device spews flames across the whole enemy party. Even Rinnosuke, with his poor MAG, can inflict heavy damage with this weapon. Beware the delay, however.Otherworldy Shikigami: 44 SP. Uses one of Rinnosuke's other Spell Cards at random. It could reduce SP cost greatly, or increase it the same. The delay is, of course, quite large. While this single-target attack's power is hardly reflective of its SP cost, it reduces the enemy's active gauge, has a high chance of inflicting SIL, and a lower one of inflicting DTH.Ghastly Dream: 50 SP. An immensely powerful slash directed at the target's lifespan. Has a small chance of causing DTH. Useful against bosses for its power.Five Signs of the Dying Deva: 66 SP. Increases ATK, DEF, MAG, MND, and SPD for Youmu. A powerful buff, if she still has the SP to make use of it.God's Slash of Karma Wind: 110 SP. ACR +30. WND element. An absurdly powerful multi-target physical attack. It's unlikely Youmu will be able to use it more than once at a time, though.200 Yojana in One Slash: 88 SP. ACR +30. NTR element. A multi-target attack that, strangely, exempts one enemy of your choosing. If there's only one enemy, though, that enemy will get hit.Yasaka's Divine Wind: 100 SP. ACR -10. WND element. Devastates and paralyzes the whole enemy party. However, it relies entirely on Sanae's own magic.Grey Thaumaturgy: 48 SP. Heals a target by a medium amount. It also cures them of all their status conditions, which is, of course, its real value. Beware its delay.Star Ritual to Call the Divine Winds: 68 SP. ACR +0. FIR element. A physical spell, strangely, that supports itself by reducing enemy DEF. A multi-target spell with decent power.Criticality Accident: 48 SP. ACR -10. FIR element. It relies on Utsuho's MAG to bolster it. It raises her MAG at the expense of her DEF and MND, though, so it supports itself.Subterranean Sun: 80 SP. ACR +100. N/A element. This attack only damages one enemy, but it slows down everyone who wasn't hit. It's not strong enough to use on single opponents.Giga Flare: 160 SP. ACR+0. MYS element. A titanic spell that decimates entire enemy parties. Because it ignores enemy defenses, it's a powerful tool against bosses as well. ACR +40. MYS element. This spell is cheap and very powerful... what could go wrong? You need to hurt a party member to use it, that's what!Rekindling of Dead Ashes: 75 SP. Cures the entire party of all status conditions. Its delay is huge, though, and for Rin, 75 SP is expensive.Mountain of Needles in a Former Hell: 45 SP. ACR +10. N/A element. Rin's only multi-target attack. It's weak, but Rin was always meant to target single foes. Utsuho can handle the groups.Blazing Wheel: 60 SP. ACR +40. FIR element. Rin's strongest attack. It targets the enemy's DEF and MND, so it's likely to do a great deal of damage. Its delay could do Rin in, though.
