I've just got Adobe Photoshop CS3, and found a problem. When I paste a render on a new layer, it comes up with a black BG, not transparent.

 

Help?

1.) Where did you get the render? If you got it from the PR gallery' date=' follow what I say now. If not, explain otherwise. From YCM also works, if you're sure it is an actual render.

 

2.) Save it.

 

3.) Open it.

I went File>Open but then it opened up as a whole new window. How can I get it on the actual layer on the tag?

I don't know because I don't have Adobe Photoshop CS3, but it does that on paint because it just doesn't allow invisible backgrounds, mabe it's thae same on Adobe Photoshop CS4, As I say I don't know what it allows and what it doesn't so I'm not sure.

CS3 does allow transparency, if it didn't it would be a waste of your money. Please only post if you can answer my question >.>

I wouldn't know, but when you make a new layer, there should be an option on what kind it is.. Like White, Tranparents, eteca eteca eteca.

I'm sure it has a trnsparent BG as it has worked on GIMP and I tried many different ones.

I don't have PS, but check your pasting options, or settings, see if something is enabled/disabled.

 

Or something within the layers that might disable transparency, either that or the image your copying hasn't got a transparent BG
