Friday! Time for more chapters. Today I'll be posting three. The main reason being that once I get to the point where I have to make new chapters I will. I haven't done much on it for a bit.
Chapter 16 Travel on the New Vessel. A New Destination is set.]

The New Dawn Pirates, now with a navigator and musician in Koji and Jack respectively, had been at see with the new ship for just under a week. The events of Musica island were mostly put to rest. Everyone except Emanuel had fully recovered. Though Emanuel had no physical injuries anymore he was still quite fatigued. For most of the week he'd just been sitting down in his fox form at the front of the deck. Jack and John who had received the worst of the injuries had recovered remarkably well. With Koji as their navigator reaching an island was no longer an issue. With his music, Jack was keeping the mood relatively light. As the ship now had a fully functioning kitchen, John's culinary talent was finally able to shine. All in all, everything about the new ship was amazing.

"We still on course?" John asked Koji casually as he walked by.

"Well... we would be if Emanuel would hurry up and give me an island to get to." Koji said. With that he let out a big sigh.

"Something wrong?" John said. In truth he cared little for Koji's small complaints.

"...It's just that when I signed up for this I sort of assume there would be some hot pirate ladies waiting for me on the ship. And now I get here.... AND THERE'S NOTHING BUT OTHER GUYS!" Koji yelled. John hit him on the head and stopped his outburst.

"The hell was that?" Koji said.

"Stop complaining. I have to say that coming aboard a pirate ship as a means to find women is pretty pathetic." John said.

"Yeah, I guess." Koji said rubbing the back of his head. The disappointment in his voice was obvious.

Emanuel sat, or rather almost lied down as his head was resting on the deck, on the deck as he had been doing. He stared out in the ocean and simply let his tails sway with the breeze as doing anything else was quite tiring. He was running over some of the info in his mind. While still at Musica Island Frozox had been asking around about some of the crew members. The only lead they had was that Cat Burglar Nami's home village Cocoyashi in the East Blue. Apparently she hadn't been spotted for awhile there but that was the best shot they had. Emanuel still hadn't told the crew as he was contemplating wether or not it was worth going there.

And more concerning to him were his dreams as of this last week. He'd had this odd dream about this very demonic fox trying to kill him. Something about incompatibility was at the root of the matter. He felt he should recognize the images, almost like he'd seen them before, but he couldn't place it. But he had been feeling rather bad recently. Almost like something was tugging at his insides. As far as he could tell it was the result of the battle he fought in his human form with Alistair. Though Alistair may have felt Emanuel was too powerful, the simple truth was that Emanuel would have been hurt far worse if he hadn't taken things that seriously. As Emanuel was thus engaged in his thoughts Frozox stepped up to the front of the deck. Emanuel focused back in on reality and picked his head up off the deck to talk with Frozox.

"Captain, I think Koji's been getting impatient recently. Why haven't you given him a course yet?" Frozox said.

"I'm just debating with myself on where to go next." Emanuel said.

"Really? That's all?" Frozox said.

"Stop trying to pry Frozox." Emanuel responded.

"Alright, if you say so. Just trying to look out for a friend." Frozox said. Frozox walked off and Emanuel put his head back down on the deck.

"What are you trying to hide Emanuel?" Frozox thought as he left.

Later that afternoon a bird carrying a pack of newspapers came and landed on the deck. It seemed Jack had a subscription that was now following him while he was in the East Blue. Jack took the paper and payed the bird and began looking through it. The first thing he took note of was the new bounty posters. It seemed that Emanuel and Frozox's bounties had gone up simply because of their continued anti-Marine activity. In these days it wasn't uncommon for the Marines to raise bounties of criminals even if they hadn't done anything in awhile. They were desperate to catch any criminal they could. Frozox's bounty had increased from twenty million to thirty million, Emanuel's bounty had increased from twenty million to twenty two million and John had received a bounty of fifteen million berries.

"Hey look! Your bounties went up. And John received one as well. John appeared in front of Jack, took the poster, and warped back to the crow's nest where he had been reading. He took a look at the poster.

"Well they got a good picture of me. Fifteen million huh? I suppose I haven't been at it long enough to get up with Emanuel and Frozox. What's this? John "Pitch Black" Noir? Interesting title." John thought as he looked over the poster. Koji had run over to see if he had received a bounty and was disappointed to see nothing.

"What were you expecting? You just joined the crew last week." Jack said. Jack continued skimming and then a particularly interesting article caught hold of his attention.

Jack finished reading it with a stunned look in his eyes. He called out for the crew to come see what it said. They all stepped over to Emanuel so he wouldn't have to strain himself.

"I just read something that's happening on the island this newspaper comes from. They're talking about recent Marine activity on their own island. The Marines have been executing people like crazy for a few weeks. The Marine captain in charge there states that he's doing it to 'Show those worthless new Pirates, the New... whatevers, that if they wish to oppose justice that justice will be enforced better than ever.' He's using our activity as justification for his uncalled for executions. The island is ready to riot but fears the Marines will kill them if they do anything." Jack said. The crew took the info and all were a bit annoyed though none more than Emanuel.

"Koji, set sail for that island! We'll show them what happens when they use our actions to justify murder!" Emanuel ordered.

"Yes Captain!" Koji said. "Alright! We're moving out for some action!" Koji thought as he moved for the wheel. Koji took the newspaper so as to know what island to go off to.

"So what about where you were planning on going?" Frozox said to Emanuel.

"That can wait until after. Besides, this stop will put us closer to that island anyway." Emanuel said.

"Alright then. I'll go take my position on the ship then." Frozox said.

"Two days 'till we reach the island Captain!" Koji called out from the steering wheel.

"Good." Emanuel said quietly. "I'll show them. I won't let them kill people because of what I've done." Emanuel thought. The New Dawn Pirates then began their journey to island to end the Marine's hold over the area.
Chapter 17 A Innocent Girl is Taken Prisoner. The Angered New Dawn Crew Arrives!]

The Island that made the newspaper for the East Blue was aptly named "East Blue News Island." Its main purpose is, as might be assumed, to provide newspapers for the East Blue. Though the island is mainly meant to make the news, there are several populated towns. As it would happen, the New Dawn Pirates were not the only ones wandering to and fro and ending up on this island.

In a small boat a young girl, roughly age 17, pulled up to shore. Here hair was long and blond, falling a bit past her shoulders. Her eyes were an oddly deep purple, almost like you were looking into a shadow. She had very fair white skin which was to be expected with the slightly dirty blond hair color. On her head she wore a beret of sorts. It was blue on the top with a black line around the bottom. It covered the back portion of her head. On her left side there was a red ribbon wrapped up in her hair. Her cloths were a mix of a mildly dark blue, black, and white. She wore white leggings that came up just past her knees and had blue ribbons tied around the top. With her leggings and her skirt she didn't show off all that much of her legs. Her cloths had no sleeves so her white arms were clearly visible. She had the typical female build and gave off both a child like cuteness and a mature attractiveness. One had to wonder looking at a girl like her was doing all on her own coming to East Blue News Island.

The girl walked around with a clear enthusiasm that she probably usually had but she seemed sort of restrained. Everyone once in awhile she rubbed her stomach and let out a little moan. She looked around with a hopeful glance in her eyes and suddenly she got excited. She had seen a restaurant sign and she ran inside. She happily skipped right up to the counter.

"Excuse me! I'd like to order something. What do you have here?" she asked. The woman working the counter handed her a menu. A depressed look suddenly took her face as she looked at the prices. With some tears in her eyes she put the menu back.

"I'm sorry, I don't have the money to eat here." she said disappointed. She walked outside downhearted when someone tapped her shoulder from behind. It was a middle aged woman and her family.

"Excuse me young lady, would you like to come home with us and have something to eat?" she asked kindly. The girl lit up more than ever before.

"Really?! Ya- I mean, thank you very much!" the girl said as she stumbled over being polite while so excited. The woman started on her way home and the girl followed excitedly behind.

"By the way, what's your name miss?" the woman asked.

"Me? I'm Alice Valkerii. Nice to meet you!" she said.

"And are you here all by yourself Alice?" the woman asked concerned.

"Yup!" Alice responded.

"What are you doing out here all on your own?" the woman asked.

"Just wandering. Where I was was getting pretty boring and I didn't have anyone there anyway. So I figured I get going to some place else!" She said.

"You mean you don't have a family?" the woman asked. Alice's skip stopped as she thought about it. She looked straight at the ground.

"Not anymore." Alice responded.

Upon reaching the woman's home Alice ate with eager haste. She hadn't eaten for a day or two because she'd accidentally forgotten to pack the last of three weeks supplies she had planned to take with her. She had rationed her food well enough so she had only not eaten in a day or two. Still the food that was so freely offered had great appeal to her.

"So what was it you planned on doing after getting here?" the woman asked as Alice finished.

"I'm not sure. I'm on an adventure of sorts but I'm not sure how to go about it. I figured I'd work here a little to earn money for supplies, buy supplies, and then move on." Alice said.

"Is that what you've been doing?" the woman asked.

"Yeah, for about three months now! Though the working part really slows me down. If only I'd had some cash to burn before leaving." Alice said.

"Have you ever thought of settling anywhere?" the woman said.

"No way! I'm in my prime and I need to get the adventure in now while I can. I have a goal, so I won't stop until I can achieve it." Alice said.

After a few more exchanges the woman gave Alice some money to get here started while she was on the island. She walked around town. As she walked she noticed the Marines were pretty present on the island. Normally Alice would have thought that to be a good thing, as she had been raised by Marines. However she'd heard about some of the stuff going on in the East Blue and couldn't stand the idea that the Marines might be oppressing people here. As she walked she saw a man accidentally walk into a Marine. Based on his jacket Alice could tell he was the captain here. The Captain was fine but clearly angered. He picked the man up by his collar.

"What the hell do you think you're doing?!" he barked.

"I'm sorry sir! I d-d-didn't k-know you were there." the man said feebly.

"Of course you didn't! Or maybe you were actually trying to attack me and start a revolution here! Maybe you work for those New Dawn losers!" the captain yelled.

"No I assure you I'm just an average citizen captain Esteed sir!" the man said. The captain threw the man to the floor roughly. He then proceeded to kick the man again and again.

"Right. You're just trash! You dare to oppose the Marines? Well you'll rot in jail for that!" The man said. Alice couldn't take it. She ran up to the captain.

"What do you think you're doing?" Alice yelled. "This isn't how the Marines are supposed to do things! The Marines are meant to protect the people not openly attack them! How dare you call yourself a Marine Captain!" she said.

"You have some guts preaching to me like..... that..." he said. His thoughts trailed off.

"You! That girl! Oh how I'd wished I could meet you! Men, take her! Kairouseki cuffs now! We can never be sure." the captain said. His men quickly latched the handcuffs onto Alice. She resisted all she could as she was picked up by another Marine. She was by no means physically strong enough to break free though.

"Put me down! Now!" she screamed. The captain had her gagged.

"What a great day this is going to be." the captain said as he walked back to the base with his men.

The New Dawn pirates had been about two days away from the island, though two days of travel meant much more distance with the new ship. Koji manned the wheel as they began coming into port.

"Almost there captain!" Koji called out to Emanuel who still wasn't able to move too much.

"Good." Emanuel called back. The captain of this area had angered Emanuel greatly. This captain claimed that he was allowed to kill more people because of what Emanuel and his crew had been doing. Emanuel despised killing and couldn't stand that someone could be killed because of him. If he was feeling better he'd have already tried to dash into port even with the still good distance of water in between his ship and the port.

The crew pulled into port around five o'clock in the morning. In two hours the usual noises of John cooking away could be heard if one passed by the door. Frozox and Jack and anchored the ship and after breakfast would most likely head out. The crew ate a lot, as they usually did. Afterwards they waited about half and hour before going to do anything. Fighting on full stomachs didn't appeal to them too greatly. After Emanuel had gotten tired of waiting he called the crew together.

"Okay men, here's what's going to happen. You're all going to resupply. As soon as the supplies are back on the ship you are to go have some fun with the Marines of this island. Let me just remind you that I don't want any of the Marines dead, we're better than they are. If they're going to use our actions to justify their murders we aren't going to kill them. Try to stick together. I'm not particularly worried about any of you but just stay together." Emanuel said. The rest of the crew could tell that Emanuel really wanted to go fight the Marines himself but simply didn't have the energy to go do it. Even his tails, which were usually swaying with the breeze, rested on the deck.

"Anything else captain?" Frozox asked. Emanuel thought for a second and then responded.

"Yeah. John, keep Koji from the women." Emanuel said casually.

"Right sir." John said.

"Hey! What?!" Koji said.

"I need you focused on fighting, not the women here." Emanuel said. Koji was angry and began muttering several threats to several members of the crew under his breath. Though they weren't very audible John still warped behind Koji and hit him over the head to stop it.

"Stop doing that!" Koji yelled. John just grinned back.

"Sorry, captain's orders." John said as if he had no choice in the matter. With that the crew took off.

Alice had been in jail for about two days now. She was in a cell by herself in the Marine HQ for the island. The Marines had done some minor torture on her but after a day of being there she had passed out and hadn't reawakened yet.

"Dammit! Get her up! I won't be able to enjoy this properly if she's not awake for it!" Captain Esteed yelled at his men.

"We're sorry sir. As far as the doctor's can tell she shouldn't be in this coma and yet she is. If they don't know what caused it they can't bring her out of it." a low ranked Marine answered.

"Perfect! I finally find her and this happens. Just my luck." the man said. Just the another Marine entered the room. As he stood in front of Captain Esteed he saluted.

"Sir! We have new pictures of the New Dawn vessel and pirate mark." the man said. The captain took the papers and scanned them over.

"Is that all?" the captain said.

"No sir. Some have reported this ship just landing in the harbor sir!" he said.

"What?! Oh this is funny. Suddenly all of the people I've been dying to see have shown up all at once." he said.

"What would you have us do sir?" the Marine asked.

"Oh nothing, at least not outside. Prepare all our defenses inside. We're going to let them come to us. Let them think this will go like any other group of Marines they've beaten. Get on the preparations now!" The captain barked.

"Yes sir!" the Marine said. He ran off and no doubt began getting the world to prepare for battle out. Captain Esteed sat down and sighed happily.

"What great luck I'm having this week." he said excitedly.
Chapter 18 No Time Wasted! The Marines Defeated Already?]

The Marine base on this island wasn't exactly what one thought of when they thought of military bases. For one it was simply a building that had been converted into a base. Many islands never saw Marines stationed around them until the crackdown on piracy in recent years. This building had once been a warehouse that sat on the edge of town away from the port. North of it there was simply fields and hills, to the south there was the town and at the south edge of town was where the New Dawn pirates had docked. This base was now heavily fortified and had also been repainted to the colors of the Marines. And now all of Captain Esteed's men were preparing for defensive battle positions. The logic was that the New Dawn pirates could never penetrate their defenses.

Emanuel was still resting at the front of the boat. Several people had walked past the port and all had the usual reactions to a large fox sitting on a boat. Emanuel was a bit bored and annoyed; he wanted to be the one to fight the Marines here but he was in no condition to. He had to wonder what all his crew would do once they got to the Marine base. They were to head over to the Marine base after resupplying and the supplies had been stored away in the kitchen for twenty minutes already.

"Have fun with the Marines guys." Emanuel thought.

Though they were nowhere near as conspicuous as their captain, the New Dawn crew didn't exactly fit into the regular crowd. Koji had attempted to flirt with about seven woman on the way to the Marine base and had been promptly hit across the head seven times by John.

"I'm getting real sick of you hitting me all the time!" Koji yelled after the most recent hit.

"Then stop flirting." John said with an uncaring tone. As annoying as Koji's attempts were John had found punishing him to be pretty fun.

"That's like asking me to stop living!" Koji protested.

"That can be arranged as well." John said with an evil grin across his face as he drew his knife.

"Enough you two. We have a job to do and I'd like to get it done already." Frozox said a bit annoyed. Both Koji and John answered with dispirited 'Yes sir's.

The crew, or rather Frozox, took some time to scan out the lay of the soon-to-be battlefield that was the Marine base. As the base was a bit separated from the town it seemed that they would simply have to walk up to the front door. That was something that Frozox didn't intend to do, at least unprepared. Frozox, Jack, and Koji did just walk right up to the base, the Marines inside that were still hiden obviously thought they were fools. From the nearest roof top in town roughly eighty yards away John was concealed, his rifle drawn to snipe off Marines when needed. The three walked up to the large double doors.

"If you'd be so kind Jack." Frozox said.

"Of course Frozox." Jack said politely. He then punched the doors, and though they didn't break it was one of the loudest knocks anyone there had ever heard.

"That would be the signal to get ready." John thought as the knock reverberated to his position. He put the rifle's sight up to his eye and prepared the long range shot. Of course, with a warp thrown in there wasn't actually much distance for the bullets to travel. As soon as the knock died down Marines sprang up all over the outside ledges of the building with all sorts of rifles and canons ready. On the balcony of what looked like the third and top story there was a man clearly decorated as the captain.

"Ready men!" he called out. That was all he had time for. Immediately he fell over with a distinct hole in his left shoulder. As soon as John had seen the captain appear he took aim and fired. He had been aiming for the center of the man's chest, but the left shoulder wasn't all that bad either.

"Too easy." John thought as he saw the captain fall over. The Marines panicked as soon as their captain fell over. The three pirates below couldn't have fired on him, so who?

"Well, the Marines have so kindly shown up to the fight, we should oblige. Though I gotta say, John was certainly fast on the attack there." Frozox said.

Jack and Frozox jumped up to the lowest places where the Marines were stationed and began fighting very one-sided battles. Koji took his rotating saw-like blades to the double doors. He revved his guitar up to the first gear and began cutting into the door. Once inside the crew could really have some fun with the Marines. Of course the Marines weren't about to let them get inside. Several aimed their rifles to fire at Koji only be struck by bullets themselves. John was providing cover fire for Koji's efforts.

"This is taking too long! Time for the next gear!" Koji said. As he did the blades began rotating faster and the noise became louder.

Suddenly there came a call from above.

"Stop messing around men! Each section focus fire on one person!" said a voice. The Marine captain was standing up with no injury or even blood on his left shoulder.

"What?! I shot him!" John said as he saw the man stand. The Marine's moral suddenly picked up at the sight of their captain uninjured. Though they didn't know how their captain cared little for them. In fact this entire campaign against the New Dawn was simply a way for him to get himself promoted. Though their bounties were nothing amazing yet, the Marines wanted them killed soon. Though his orders had boosted moral, they couldn't boost performance. Frozox and Jack continued ripping through the pathetic marines.

John warped next to Koji as he could only keep things contained with sniping for so long. Koji had almost cut through to the other side of the doors.

"How things going?" John said as he drew his two small pistols to continue defending Koji.

"Almost there!" Koji said excitedly. Meanwhile Frozox had decided to go after the Captain. Taking advantage of his mobile scarf Frozox had climbed up the platform the captain was on.

"What?" the captain said surprised. Without much hesitation Frozox already had his sword drawn and was attacking captain Esteed. The captain was surprised yet was able to dodge the attacks. The captain retreated behind several of his men, a fact that annoyed Frozox who would rather the captain fight himself. John saw the captain retreating and warped up to his location in order to get him. Just as the captain was about to retreat into the base John fired his pistol at the captain's head. It hit right in his head yet no blood came. Instead the bullet dropped to the ground and the captain healed. He ran up to John and took hold of his arm. A strange sensation took hold of John as his body suddenly couldn't move. As he looked he saw a hole in his arm.

"What is this?" John said. The captain then retreated inside. Frozox had finished the other men and came up to John.

"John are you okay?" Frozox said. He ran up and took notice of the hole in the arm. And yet it appeared to be an injury there was no blood and his arm seemed undamaged otherwise.

"I can't move. He did something." John said. At that point Jack appeared on the same platform.

"The rest of the Marines have retreated inside. Koji's almost in." Jack said.

"Jack, stay here with John. The captain did something and now he can't move. I'm going in." Frozox said. He then proceeded to cut the doors the captain had retreated behind open.

Captain Esteed ran into the prison on the second floor. His only thought was that if he had the girl as a hostage the pirates couldn't possibly hurt him. As he walked in he noticed the girl was finally conscious.

"It's about time you woke up!" he yelled at her.

"What is it you want with me?" she yelled back at him.

"You mean you don't remember me? How rude of you. I was on the Marine ship that rescued you when you were young. You remember, the ship with Alf on it?" he said.

"What, you were on that ship?" Alice said back.

"At least you remember the ship. I'll tell you now that you deserve to die. You were the reason Alf was killed." Captain Esteed said.

"What are you talking about?! I didn't get him killed! I-I..." Alice said.

"He died because he was with you. Whatever danger was in that place he could have no doubt gotten out of had he been by himself. But you had to go and get my hero killed. I'd kill you now for it but I need you for a bit." He said as he entered the cell.

"Stop! Leave me alone!" Alice screamed. Captain Esteed took hold of her right arm and suddenly she couldn't move. Like with John a hole was in place. Right after the shackles were removed Alice passed out.

"Already out again? Worthless girl. At least those idealist pirates won't attack me with you here." he said.

Frozox followed the directions he'd heard footsteps going. As it turned out it led him to a place that was called the prison. He rushed inside and saw the captain holding a young girl hostage.

"Not another step pirate! Come any closer and this girl dies!" he said placing his hand on the top of her head.

"And what would that accomplish?" he said in reference to the placement of his hand.

"I have a pretty unique power. I've eaten a devil fruit and have become a hole-man. I can create holes in my body and in the bodies of others. That's why none of your worthless attacks have done anything." he said.

"And I assume that's why my friend in paralyzed. Other people's bodies aren't meant to have those holes placed in them." Frozox said.

"Exactly. And if I generate a hole in this girl's brain what do you think would happen?" the captain said. Frozox sheathed his sword.

"I see you understand now. I knew you fools wouldn't be able to harm me when I had a hostage." the captain said.

"Tell me what you have against us." Frozox said.

"What?" captain Esteed said, a bit shocked by the question.

"You severely upset my captain by stating you could 'more strictly enforce the law because of what the New Dawn has done.' You're justifying murder based off our actions." Frozox said.

"It's simple. I just want to get promoted. The Marine HQ wants you pirates taken care of soon and if I can do it I'm sure to reap some rewards." he said. At this bragging he took his hand off of Alice's head.

"So that's it then? Your own self-interest. Pathetic. I had expected something a bit more grandiose. You've disappointed me captain." Frozox said. Out of nowhere the captain was encased in ice, unable to move his arms or legs, not even able to rotate his torso or neck.

"What? I don't understand." Captain Esteed said confused. Frozox simply walked up and took Alice from his grip. Putting her over his back Frozox prepared to leave.

"You can't do this! This wasn't how it was supposed to go!" the captain yelled at Frozox. Frozox didn't even turn around to respond.

"And how was it supposed to go?" he said. At that moment Koji burst into the room clearly excited from the fighting he'd been doing. His guitar was revving.

"Hey, you're that captain! You get to die now!" Koji said as he brought the guitar down to cut the man in half horizontally.

"No! Koji you idiot!" Frozox said. As Koji was caught up in the moment he forgot how Emanuel wanted no one killed. The Captain was cut in half yet no blood poured. The ice around him broke so that he could move again. His body suddenly reformed and he grabbed hold of Koji's face.

"Idiot! Now you all die!" he said. As he did so an awful burning suddenly started across his whole body. The parts where ice still clung burned worse than anything he'd ever experienced. He let go of Koji and fell to the ground. He looked up only to see the tip of a black katana in his face.

"I wasn't going to use this on you, but you don't know when to stop. Now if you want that pain to stop I suggest you leave this town." Frozox said. He began to walk away. Koji got up and walked out with him.

"Hey, thanks there Fro-" he was interrupted. Frozox had sheathed his sword and hit Koji squarely on the forehead with it.

"Ow! What was that for!" Koji said.

"You idiot! If that man hadn't had that devil fruit power you would have just directly defied Emanuel's wishes! He said that no one was to die for this! Now if you can't get it through your head to start following Emanuel's orders you're going to have a very painful voyage ahead of you! Now then, let's be going." Frozox said, at first angry but then actually calm.

The two, and Alice on Frozox's back, walked out of the base. John had been able to move again once captain Esteed had been hurt with the black ice. The hole on Alice had vanished as well though she hadn't woken up. Jack and John rejoined the others and they began on their way back to the ship. As they got on the ship Emanuel was a bit confused at the sight of the girl.

"Who's that?" he questioned Frozox.

"A girl that the Marine captain used as a hostage. The town said she doesn't have a home here and as she's passed out I could only bring her here. Don't worry about the Marines by the way, they've been defeated without casualties and are on the way out." Frozox said.

"Good. Well we have some spare rooms. She can rest there until she wakes up. Then she can tell us what she wants to do." Emanuel said. As a bit of time passed a loud noise that sounded like cheers was heard coming from the town.

"What is that?" John asked to no one in particular. It turned out that people were celebrating the retreat of the Marines even though they had no idea who had defeated them. The crew wasn't about to make an appearance or tell the people they had defeated the Marines. They didn't much care for that publicity. Instead the crew just waited on the ship for the night feeling they should probably leave the next morning.

XD I loved this part. Quality as always!

Well I have to follow the tradition. Whenever there's a womanizer there's generally a funny running gag as to how to get him to stop. The most obvious example being Brock from Pokemon.

lol Croagunk. That is quite funny.

That came from the one time you did it in the RP. So I decided it would become a consistent thing.

I really don't want to post like this where the last poster was myself, but I must.

And now, for a never before read by Black or PrimalFear or anyone else but myself for that matter chapter of One Piece: The Bearers of the Rio Poneglyph
Chapter 19 The Girl Awakes. A Warm Hearted Welcome Touches Alice.]

Two days had passed and yet Alice had yet to wake up. The crew, or at least Frozox being a doctor, was worried. There was no clear reason she should remain unconscious for so long. Frozox made regular check ups and still no changes. As she had no one in the town the crew had left the town though Emanuel gave no destination. Koji stood at the wheel sort of annoyed and began talking with John who was sitting nearby.

"Hey John, why is it Emanuel always takes forever to give destinations? It's really annoying, at least as a navigator. I have no idea where we're going so how can I keep the ship on course?" Koji said.

John shifted slightly and without looking up from the book he was reading by the dawn's light replied.

"Unlike a lot of captains, Emanuel has a large goal he wants to achieve. It takes a lot of thought to decide how to go about it. At least that's what I think. I know I wouldn't want to worry that much about things." John said. Koji sighed.

"Yeah, I guess. I just wish he could get them to me sooner. Just going anywhere is so boring. Seeing as that girl isn't conscious if the ship is boring I have nothing to do." Koji said. John got up and hit Koji on the head with his book.

"Ow! What was that?" Koji said.

"...For what you were thinking about in regards to that girl." John said smiling as he left.

Frozox came out of his most recent examination of Alice. He was angry, not that it was visible.

"Damn. Isn't there anyone I can help? Are my skills that meaningless? Emanuel and now this girl, I can't help either of them." Frozox thought as he moved on. As he walked he passed by Jack.

"Something troubling you my friend?" Jack said taking note of Frozox staring uncharacteristically at the floor.

"No it's nothing." Frozox replied.

"So how's the girl?" Jack asked.

"That's the problem, nothing and yet something bad. There's nothing wrong but she doesn't wake up. It makes no sense." Frozox said.

"Perhaps you're looking at it too much from a clinical view point. Our world isn't strictly regulated by science and our supposed facts. The Devil Fruits are evidence enough of that. Perhaps nothing is wrong physically but mentally or spiritually there may be some problem. Or perhaps nothing is wrong." Jack said.

"I wish I could think like that." Frozox said.

"It's not hard. Just don't take everything you know as absolutely true. If you leave some room for doubt in everything then perhaps more will make sense." Jack said. At this Jack pulled out flute, one of his many instruments.

"I almost forgot to play at the dawn." he said as the soft melodic tones began to fill the air. Frozox continued on to think more about things on his own.

As of now Emanuel felt pretty good for the most part. A bit tired at some points but most of his energy had returned and moving didn't tire him out quite so much. He'd been thinking about an idea he'd heard in Musica. He knew he should probably give the destination to Koji soon. Emanuel saw Frozox come out and saw he was in thought. As such he made no motion to talk with Frozox. Instead he made his way to the room the girl was staying in to check on her. He walked over and heard another small argument between John and Koji about the girl. As he entered the door nothing seemed different. The girl's slow soft breathing was still the only sound in the room.

"You know you're really worrying Frozox. As if my condition wasn't enough, here's another case he can't solve or do anything about." Emanuel said softly aloud. The girl made no response.

"You'd better wake up soon or who knows what Frozox might start thinking about himself." Emanuel said.

"...I'm.... sorry." a faint voice whispered.

"What was that?" Emanuel said. The same message came again a bit louder. Emanuel saw it was the girl talking.

"...I'm.... sorry.. Alf." Alice said. Emanuel yelled out for Frozox to enter the room as the girl was stirring. Frozox was in the room quickly.

Frozox moved over to the girl who now sounded as if she was having a nightmare. He shook her gently.

"Hey! Wake up. Come on now." he said as he moved her. Suddenly she opened her eyes and sat up. She didn't look tired but she did look confuse.

"I'm awake?" she said confused.

"So you're up finally." Frozox said. The girl looked around disoriented.

"Where am I? Who are you people?" she said worried.

"I'm Frozox and this is Emanuel." he said in reference to himself and Emanuel. Before the girl responded she was already next to Emanuel and hugging him with some energy.

"What cute fox?! I've never seen a blue one before! Or one with so many tails!" Alice said. A little shocked at first Emanuel wasn't sure what to say.

"Excuse me." he said a bit embarrassed by the situation.

"You talk too?! This is amazing! I wish I had a pet like you!" she said. At this burst of energy Krook walked into the room and stood next to Frozox.

"A penguin too? Wow, where exactly am I?" she asked excitedly.

"You're aboard my pirate ship." Emanuel said.

"You mean to tell me this ship is run by a fox? I'm not sure whether to be amazed for you guys or sad for you guys." she said. Frozox and Emanuel both flinched a bit at the response.

"I'm sorry, you misunderstand. That fox is a man with a Devil Fruit power. He simply prefers the fox form. But he is our captain." Frozox said.

"...Oh...... Oh! I'm so sorry! I had no idea! I didn't think you were a person!" she said a bit panicked.

"...It's okay. Just calm down and tell us who you are." Emanuel said.

"Oh right! My name's Alice Valkerii. But aside from that I couldn't tell you a single thing about myself right now!" she said excitedly.

"What do you mean?" Emanuel questioned.

"Amnesia. I always get it after.... how do I explain it? It's like a really weird dream. Anyway, when I wake up, all I know is my name and some random facts like my favorite color and the fact that I've had amnesia before." she said unfazed.

"Wait. You mean you get amnesia regularly? Just from sleeping?" Frozox said.

"No, no! It's not really a dream. It's sort of like an out of body experience you could say. I'll be able to say more about it in a day or two when my memory gets back to me but the amnesia only happens if it's really long. So did you say this was a pirate ship?" she said.

"Yes. The ship of the New Dawn Pirates." Emanuel said.

"Well that doesn't mean anything to me at the moment but I do know that I've been wanting to join a pirate crew. So what do you say, can I join this ship?" Alice said.

"What?! Are you sure you should be making decisions without your memory?" Frozox said.

"Sure! It's not like I'll forget what's going on here. And it's not like I'm crazy. I know I've wanted to join a crew and it seems you've helped me so why not here?" Alice said.

"I guess that's that. Welcome aboard Alice. So what can you do on a ship?" Emanuel asked.

"I couldn't say. Ask me again tomorrow when I remember everything." she responded.

"Fair enough Alice. Well I should go tell the crew. And more importantly, tell John to get a real feast going for breakfast." Emanuel said as he began to walk out.

"What for?" Alice asked.

"To welcome you here." Emanuel said as he left.

Frozox did one final examination to make sure Alice was fine, and seeing that she was Frozox permitted her to move about the ship. As she walked out she marveled at the sun rise and remembered a little bit about her early life. She wasn't worried by the rather troubled images. Her whole memory would be back before too long and she was sure she was a happy person despite her past. As she moved about she saw no one on the ship. She wasn't sure where they could be. After about ten minutes Frozox guided her into the kitchen. As she stepped inside a large "Hello Alice!" came out from the group inside. In order Alice took note of Emanuel, John, Jack, and then Koji. The table was filled with a marvelous meal and Alice couldn't believe they made it just because she joined.

Koji was quick to get to talking with Alice.

"So Alice, is it? How about we get to know each other better? We could, oh I don't know, talk about you and me and what our future will be like together." Koji said.

"Uhh..." Alice started. She wasn't sure what to say. Before she could John suddenly appeared behind Koji and hit him on the back of the head and quickly somehow reappeared in the back of the kitchen. A light happy tune on a violin was heard shortly afterwards and the musician greeted her warmly.

"Good morning miss Alice. It's good to have you with us. I do hope you enjoy the melody. If you have requests I'll be sure to take them." Jack said.

Alice sat down and amidst the greetings and meal she remembered something. She remembered a man named Alf. He had been very important to her. Right as he died he told her to wait for the day when she encountered a group of people, and with every fiber of her being wanted to be with them. He said when she found that group that she could finally be happy. At this thought a single tear ran down Alice's right cheek. She knew this was the group. The group she wanted to be with.

"Alice, are you okay?" various members of the crew asked at the sight of the tear.

"I'm fine. I'm just happy, is all." she said.

The breakfast a great and happy occasion the crew spread out onto the deck to begin the day. Throughout the meal Alice had mainly kept her eyes on Frozox. Something about him appealed to her. Emanuel stepped up to Koji at the wheel.

"Koji!" he said.

"Yes captain!" he said with a salute. "Saluting a large fox never gets any less weird." he thought as he did so.

"Set sail for Cocoyashi village." Emanuel responded.

"Yes sir!" Koji said excited to be going somewhere. And so the crew continued on with a new member who was all too happy to be there.

That night Alice looked out over the night sky and the ocean. The shining waves reflecting the limited light of the moon had an amazing beauty to it. Alice's memory had returned far faster than she had expected. There was very little that if she thought about she couldn't recall. She sat down where she was and looked down on the deck. The Marine captain's words rang through her mind again.

"You mean you don't remember me? How rude of you. I was on the Marine ship that rescued you when you were young. You remember, the ship with Alf on it?"

"What, you were on that ship?"

"At least you remember the ship. I'll tell you now that you deserve to die. You were the reason Alf was killed."

"What are you talking about?! I didn't get him killed! I-I..."

"He died because he was with you. Whatever danger was in that place he could have no doubt gotten out of had he been by himself. But you had to go and get my hero killed. I'd kill you now for it but I need you for a bit."

"It wasn't my fault. Alf didn't die because of me. He didn't.... he didn't." Alice said softly to herself. She looked up again with tears almost in her eyes. Meeting her gaze was her new captain.

"Something the matter?" Emanuel asked. Alice quickly made sure to rub at her eyes so as not to show tears and shook her head.

"No, nothing's wrong. Just sitting and thinking is all." Alice said.

"Would you care for some company then?" Emanuel asked.

"Sure. That would be nice." Alice said. Emanuel sat down next to her. For a minute the two just sat there thinking.

"So Alice, you told me you wanted to join a pirate crew. Mind if I ask why? It seems sort of odd to me. Guess I'm just curious." Emanuel said. Alice thought about it. She knew exactly why but she wasn't sure if Emanuel wanted to here.

"It's a bit of a story. I wouldn't want to waste your time." Alice.

"And why exactly would getting to know my crew be a waste of my time?" Emanuel asked looking her in the eyes.

"You're right! Then I'll tell you a bit about myself." Alice said.

"I'm not sure if you know the place too much but I was born in Impel Down." Alice began.

"Impel Down?! The great prison of the world? How could you possibly have been born there?" Emanuel said in disbelief.

"My parents must both have been wanted criminals. That's the only explanation. Still I never did know my mother, she must have died while I was young. But my father was really kind, I remember that much. He and the other prisoners were able to keep me hidden from the guards. The other prisoners were really nice too. I hope they're okay. I don't remember much since I was four but my father must have died somewhere in the cell. Regardless the prisoners helped me. Somehow they got me out, I forgot how almost immediately after it happened. But I do remember the dying. They didn't care, they just wanted me out.

Not long after a Marine ship picked me up and took me in. That's when I met Alf. He was a great guy. I stayed on the ship for a long part of my life. Eventually Alf and I were exploring some caves and we came upon two devil fruits. We each took one but shortly after some traps activated. Alf was caught and I couldn't save him. So I ran back to the ship and requested I be dropped off at the next inhabited island." Alice said.

"That is quite the story you have there Alice." Emanuel said.

"Sorry for rambling. I didn't mean to. I-" Alice said.

"No it's fine. It sounds like something you need to talk about a bit. Now I have to ask Alice, do you have a goal here?" Emanuel asked.

"A... goal?" Alice said confused.

"What do you want out of this voyage!" Emanuel said standing on all fours nows. He was a bit excited at the talk. "What is it that you want to do while you're here? Just say it and I'll be sure you get to do it!" Emanuel said.

"I do have one goal I suppose. A dream mostly as I doubt it's possible." Alice said.

"Well come on! Out with it." Emanuel said.

"I want to rid the world of Impel Down." Alice said looking down again. Emanuel could see some tears. Alice looked up again with tears freely flowing.

"I want to rid the world of that awful place! The horrible things the prisoners had to suffer, the lengths those men went to help me, it shouldn't have to happen! It's not right! I can't let it continue. There has to be a better system of handling criminals. And if there is one you can be sure I'm going to find it!" Alice said getting very passionate about the subject.

"Alright then Alice. Stick with the crew, and I'll see that dream through. I won't let it die as long as you won't let it happen either. We'll all see our dreams come true together." Emanuel. Alice didn't know what to say. She was overwhelmed with what Emanuel had told her. He cared, the crew cared. They wanted to help her. Her goal wasn't implausible nonsense here. It mattered. She mattered.

"Thank you Emanuel." Alice said finally.

"Don't mention it! Now go get some sleep. We have an early start tomorrow." Emanuel said. Alice stood up and sort of saluted.

"Yes sir!" she said. The two both laughed at the words and took to their own rooms.

Great chapter Andx, I love the way you wrote this chapter theirs something in it that was missing in the others but I'm not sure what exactly it is. I think you showed a lot more passion in this one as well and portrayed the emotions quite well from the character's points of view. As always looking forward to the new chapter!!!

As for the RP their has only been three people to post their intro's, come on guys we worked to hard to see it fail at this stage.

Andx I'm updating the first post with the newest chapter!

I believe I can actually tell you what was missing. There was a bit of a time gap between when I wrote ch. 18 and ch. 19. In between then at school I wrote a fictional narrative of all things and that's when I realized I wasn't doing enough in my fanfic. So for this chapter I didn't just want Alice to be the only who was touched. The idea was to have that happen for the reader as well. Now when I first wrote it and thought I was done I didn't have the last eight paragraphs where Alice and Emanuel talk. I wrote it but didn't think it had enough to get the effect I wanted so I decided to make the scene between Emanuel and Alice and I liked how it came out. I really tried to portray emotions and feelings as that's all that will really make my fanfic enjoyable since I'm not good at describing surroundings. So I don't know if that's what you meant but that's what I feel was different.

Posting after myself again. Anyway, here are two new chapters! The last ones I have in reserve. Now I'll actually make myself work on new ones so I can get going on it.
Chapter 20 Arrival at Cocoyashi. The People Hide an Important Secret.]

It was just about dawn and already the village of Cocoyashi was quite active. Most days the people were not up this early, but today was different. Today there were pirates hunters about and they were causing a real ruckus. A group of about seven pirates hunters had made their way into the town that night. After a night of drinking in the local bar they were now screaming at the top of their lungs, as well as harassing villagers, at the crack of dawn inside the bar they'd spent the night drinking at.

"Alright! Tell us where that stupid woman is and we'll get going!" the leader yelled amidst the noise of his partners. He was standing on a table and the bartender wasn't at all happy.

"Sir, get down at once!" the bartender said. It wasn't going to be that easy.

"Like hell I will! You guys still have to tell me where Cat Burglar Nami is! I..., I mean we, need that eighty million berry bounty on her head!" he yelled back. His group kept making more noise and asking the various townspeople there about Nami's whereabouts. None of the townspeople answered.

Amidst all of this there entered an old man. His face was shaved but not cleanly so it was obvious he had had a beard. He wore an maroon coat and hat and most notably he had a pinwheel in his front shirt pocket. This man's name was Genzo and he was essentially the town mayor. He stepped into the bar with quite a few young men from the village, a few of which were armed.

"Enough of this! You will all get out of the village immediately!" Genzo yelled at the men.

"Not until we find the woman and claim her bounty." the leader said as he got off the table.

"Men!" Genzo said. At once the young men, with a good amount of assistance from other civilians, took and roughed up the pirate hunters quite well. Once they'd been beaten well enough they were dragged off to the harbor.

Once there Genzo and the men threw them into their boat. Scared from the beatings they received, the group began rowing off at an insane pace.

"Hmph! Don't ever let me see you around here again. I won't tolerate you fools who think you can get to Nami." Genzo said quietly after they had gone. With that the people went back to their daily routine as if all was normal.

The New Dawn Pirates had stayed on course remarkably well. It was still funny to Emanuel, Frozox, and John who had often misjudged their bearing and ended up a few miles away from the island they meant to go to. Alice had officially taken the position of Look Out along with just helping around the ship like all the others. Alice watched excitedly from the Crow's nest as the sun had just come up. She'd of course gotten some sleep but wanted to see the island in the light of the dawn.

"Land ho!" she called out enthusiastically at the sight of Cocoyashi Village. She laughed a bit after she did so.

The only one awake at the moment other than Alice had been John who was busy prepping the kitchen for breakfast. At Alice's excited call Frozox had awoken as well. Frozox then proceeded about his usual duty of waking Emanuel and the others. On Emanuel's bad days he didn't sleep much so a knock at the door was usually enough to wake him. As Frozox reached his captain's door he hoped that he would actually have to go in as that would mean he was feeling better.

"Captain! Time to get going!" he called as he knocked. He waited a few minutes and knocked again. Still he received no response. He was happy, as this meant Emauel was feeling better.

Frozox stepped into the room and shook the sleeping fox awake. Emanuel got up still sort of half-asleep. With a large yawn he got up on all fours and started stretching.

"Feeling better today I see captain." Frozox said as he turned to leave.

"Yeah, lot's better!" Emanuel replied. Frozox then left to go get Jack and Koji up. Emanuel stepped outside of his room onto the deck and faced the morning sun. Though he didn't see the morning sun. It was quite blocked by Alice standing right in front of him.

"Good morning captain!" she said as she greeted Emanuel with her usual enthusiasm.

"Well what a funny situation. I told you we'd have an early start and now you're awake before me." Emanuel said as he got out onto the deck.

"I can't help waking up when I'm excited." she replied.

"By the way Alice, how's your memory?" Emanuel asked.

"It's all here!" she said as she pointed to her head. "I have to say this is the fastest it's ever happened. But I'm not going to complain about it." she said.

At this point Frozox, Jack and Koji came out on deck. Koji took to the wheel to keep the ship on course as they came in. Jack was busily playing away on a viola he'd brought out with him while sitting on the edge rail of the ship. He certainly had brought a lot of instruments with him. Every day it seemed he pulled something new out. At the noise of the crew all out John came out to quickly check that everyone was up.

"Food's on in ten minutes." he calmly said to the group. As he went back in they took note of a book in his hand. How John could cook and read at the same time was beyond anyone else in the crew.

After the usual noisy, happy, and fast-paced breakfast, full of flirting, punishing and laughing, the crew had just come into Cocoyashi Village's harbor. Their jolly roger certainly gave away that they were at least pirates but they weren't all that concerned. The crew was all gathered on the deck so Emanuel decided to speak to them.

"So I think it's time you all know why we came here. I've had the idea for a bit now but I think we need to find one of the members of the Straw Hat crew. If we're going to go about fighting the World Government, I think it's important that we learn what they know. So of course while we're in the East Blue we had to come here to Cat Burglar Nami's hometown. So here's what we do: I'll go searching for the mayor and see what I can learn. The rest of you should go on your own free searches as we'll cover more ground that way." Emanuel said.

"Captain, I think it would be best if I accompanied you." Frozox said.

"Oh, right." Emanuel said realizing that a fox walking alone through town would be asking for trouble.

"I'll come too! I'd get lost easy if I wasn't with someone else." Alice said. In truth she wanted to go because it was Frozox and Emanuel. So far she had talked with Emanuel the most so she felt he was her best friend aboard the ship. Then there was Frozox. She had a bit of a crush on him. She wanted to get to know him better.

"Right then. The rest of you are free to move about the town. Let's try to meet up at the town square around noon." Emanuel said. With a unanimous "Yes Captain!" the crew got off the ship and onto the island. Emanuel, Frozox, and Alice headed off to find the mayor, John went off in the direction of the bar on his own, and Jack and Koji went off to look around.

Emanuel began on his way with Frozox and Alice. Again he got the usual reactions from the people at seeing a large fox. At this point it was really just amusing to him. He was about to chuckle when Frozox quickly reminded him that the people didn't need to see the large creature laughing. He stifled the laugh and Alice giggled a bit. The three continued in search of the mayor's home or office. No doubt it would be somewhere close to the town square.

Koji and Jack had gone off to see the various small stores of the town. Though Koji was more window-shopping the women than the merchandise. Jack was sure to keep him in check of course. The two were supposed to be looking for info but both quickly found themselves distracted. It didn't seem like any helpful info was going to come from this search.

John had gone off to the bar because he'd seen that as far as getting info went, that was generally a good place to start. Not everything you heard was reliable, but it was a lead nonetheless. As he approached he noticed some damage around the outside of the bar. It looked like some crates and other things had been broken. It looked like some fighting had been going on.

"Curious. Such a peaceful village doesn't seem like is should have had a fight going on. Then again this is the bar. Not exactly a gathering of level-headed scholars." John thought as he went inside.

As he entered John took note of a few people who seemed to have just finished cleaning up the place. There had been a real mess. John saw only a few people in the room. A couple was sitting at the bar with the Bartender. There were some other small groups sitting enjoying some meals but other than that the place was pretty empty. John decided to sit at a table not too far from the counter. The bartender came over quickly and asked what he would like. He ordered a simple drink and it was quickly brought. After that the bartender quickly rejoined the group as he went behind the counter. He seemed to sort of be part of the group as well, like he was a friend of the couple. As John read his book and sipped at his drink he overheard some of the group's conversation.

"Can you believe those guys earlier? Another group of stupid pirate hunters who think they can capture Nami for the money." the man, not the bartender, said.

"Did you hear them screaming that they'd get her and us? Like that'll ever happen. Especially after that beating, they'll all stay away." the bartender said.

"I know, but why can't they just leave her alone in the first place? The Marines gave up looking for her a long time ago. All she wants to do is peacefully raise her family in her home village. She's not doing anything that would upset the Government but people still come after her! It's not fair." the woman in the group said in response.

"With a bounty of 80 million on her head there'll be lots of people wanting to come after it. Just because she isn't doing anything now doesn't mean the government will repeal her bounty. In their eyes, if you ever do anything that displeases them you're a threat for life. And even if we continue to do our best to make sure no one knows she's here there'll always be someone thinking they can make some quick money." the bartender said.

"It's still not right. Nami's kids can't even really come down to the village to play because someone looking for Nami might see the resemblance. The last thing she needs is for her kids to get held for ransom." the man said

"Is it that bad? I personally thought that was just Genzo overreacting a bit. Regardless, there's really nothing we can do to stop pirate hunters from coming here. Nothing short of sealing off our port would be able to ensure it and then the Marines would get suspicious. No, this is just what Nami, and all of us, will have to deal with." the bartender said.

John payed special attention to their conversation the moment he heard Nami mentioned in it.

"So she is here? They know about her, she has to be." he thought after their little talk had concluded. He quickly got up and stepped to the group.

"Excuse me, what was that you were saying about Nami?" he said. The three looked at him in shock. They just realized John had been able to hear what they'd been saying. All three sort of stared off in different directions as if they didn't know what to do.

"Can you tell me or not?" John asked.

"What are you talking about? Nami hasn't been her for fifteen years. Don't you know anything? She and the Straw Hats haven't been here ever since they defeated Arlong. No one knows where she is at the moment." the woman said. It was clear from her desperation that she was trying to recover from a mistake.

"I just heard you talking about her and her family. Please, I need to know." John said.

"....Alright." the bartender said. The man and woman began to voice objections.

"You can't tell him. You can't do it. What if he's a pirate hunter? He might be after her." the man said. The woman said something much to the same effect.

"There's not much use hiding it now. We really botched this one up. I'll tell you the truth about Nami." the bartender said.
Chapter 21 The Scoop on Cat Burglar Nami! New Pirate Hunters Join the Fray.]

"Thank you, it means a lot to me and my crew mates." John said. He was getting a lead and it hadn't taken all that long. He liked it when things didn't take too long to get going.

"Now hold on! I have to be sure you're a trustworthy person first. The fact that we messed up is one thing but I'll die before I let a dangerous person know anything about Nami." The bartender said. The others in the group echoed their agreements.

"Fine then, how do you propose I go about proving my character to you?" John asked.

"First start with what you and your friends want with her." The man said. The bartender nodded in agreement.

"We just want to talk. She has some pretty important information and we really need it to continue on with our journey." John said.

"Right, you just want to talk? And that eighty million berri bounty doesn't mean anything to you?" the woman asked.

"Do I look like I'm desperate for money?" John said in response. He wasn't exactly the sharpest dressed guy there was but it was clear he wasn't poverty-stricken either. The group got the idea pretty fast.

"Right then. So what is it your crew wants? I mean, what info could she have that you need so bad?" the bartender said. John thought about it for a second.

"Should I tell them what we really want? It's not exactly something to be said lightly. But anything less than the truth would cast suspicion on me and ruin our chance." John thought.

"The information we believe she has can aid us in defeating the World Government." John said expecting some laughs. However they didn't come.

"....Wait a minute! I thought I recognized you! Look, here in the newest wanted posters!" the woman said pulling out a newspaper. She drew three wanted posters and the pirates on them were Emanuel, Frozox, and John himself.

"You're a New Dawn pirate, you're Pitch Black Noir!" she said.

"What?" the man said. He took the wanted poster in hand and compared the picture to John and saw it matched perfectly.

"You really are!" the man said almost in awe.

"Does our crew name mean something to you?" John asked. Not many people seemed awe struck after recognizing a wanted pirate.

"Of course it does! Everyone knows about the New Dawn pirates. A group of pirates formed in the East Blue. They've set out to right the injustices of the Marines. You guys have liberated a good number of islands from Marine oppression. You guys are heros! You're like the Straw Hats! An amazing group of East Blue pirates!" the woman said excitedly. John hadn't expected the comparison to the Straw Hat pirates. It made him feel sort of honored yet he didn't like it at the same time. He didn't think he was worthy of being compared to that legendary crew.

"So you are the New Dawn. In that case there'll be no problem telling you all I know about Nami." the bartender said.

"Thank you. It means a lot." John said.

"Anything to help the New Dawn. Now, you should know that Nami is indeed on this island. Her and Sanji have been living in the house she grew up in since they got back about a year after Luffy's execution. We've been hiding the fact though because she just wants to live her life. But the Marines and the pirate hunters wouldn't leave her alone." the bartender said.

"Wait! Black Leg Sanji is here too?! Why's that?" John said shocked.

"Isn't it obvious?" the woman said giggling. "They're a married couple. In fact they got married here right after they first got here all those years ago." the woman said.

"So can we meet her?" John asked. That was the important part. If the town wouldn't let them near her it didn't matter.

"Well we can't authorize that. Only Genzo, the mayor can. Though it won't be any problem for the New Dawn to get approval. Genzo's a big fan of you guys." the man in the group said.

"Yeah but that doesn't mean he's posted giant versions of your bounties on his wall or anything!" the woman said. The three began laughing and John was a little lost.

"Well, I hate to leave so soon but I have to get going." John said beginning to take his leave.

"Of course, good luck!" the bartender said.

John excited the bar glad to know he not only had a lead, but a big surprise for Emanuel. Sanji was going to be here too. Two people means double the potential information.

"The mayor huh? Isn't that were Emanuel, Frozox, and Alice were headed? I guess I'll be seeing them shortly." John thought.

As the crew moved about the island another group of people were just making their landing. A group of four, one in a large coat, another with a large axe, one carrying a whip, and one more who seemed much more aloof from the group.

"Here we are. Cocoyashi village." the man with the axe said.

"And you're sure we can meet Nami here?" the last man in a sleeveless shirt said.

"Of course, we have to meet with her. And a little more than that..." the man with the whip said trailing off at the end. All at once the group stepped onto land.

"Let's be on our way then. The hunt is on." the man in the coat said.

"Are you sure you know where we're going Emanuel?" Alice said. They had been walking for a bit and hadn't seemed to have gotten anywhere.

"Actually, no. I haven't ever been here before so I should I know where anything is?" Emanuel said quietly. He didn't want to attract much attention to himself in public.

"Well, we're in the town square. It can't be that far off. Most towns seem to follow that pattern." Frozox.

"You don't say?! I hadn't ever noticed that. You're pretty perceptive aren't you Frozox?" Alice said now in a rather bubbly happy mood.

"Sure, I guess. I like to keep track of relevant information." he said.

The three wandered about a little longer not really sure where exactly to be headed. Alice wasted no time however. She quickly ran up to someone and asked about the location of the mayor's office. She was told and came back happily to the group. As they continued they heard a voice calling out to them. As they looked back they saw John who was running their way. The group waited for him to catch up.

"Hey guys, I got a great lead. I was told that Nami and Sanji are on this island." John said.

"What?! You're kidding!" Emanuel said. He was really excited now. "So what are we wasting our time for, let's go looking for them!" Emanuel said. Before he could rush off John told him to stop.

"No, we have to get the mayor's approval to meet her. It's a bit of a story." John said. The group again headed in the direction of the mayor's office.

Finally the four pirates had arrived in front of the mayor's office. At the moment the doors were closed but it wasn't exactly sound proof. And the group only knew that because they could here what sounded like an argument going on inside. As they approached it became more and more audible.

"What the hell do you think you're doing here in the first place?!" a man's voice yelled.

"What kind of attitude is that to greet someone with?! Is there some problem with me coming to visit an old friend." A woman's voice yelled. It was rather shrill when it got really loud.

"You know it's dangerous. Just this morning we had to chase off a group of pirate hunters!" the man yelled in response.

"You think a couple of pirate hunters could stop me? Genzo this is getting to be too much. You and all of the town, it's like you can't trust me to take care of myself. And when I do come to visit you, you yell at me. I guess I'll be taking the tangerines I brought as a present back with me." the woman said, it was clear she was pouting at the end even though the group couldn't see her.

"Wait! There's no need to do that. I'm just looking out for your safety." the man yelled back.

"Right, right. Here they are. Make sure to be nice the next time I come to visit." the woman replied. With that the crew heard something like a door opening and closing.

The crew stepped in and saw an older looking man wearing a maroon looking suit and hat on. Most notable was a pinwheel on his hat and on his desk. This must have been the Genzo the female voice had addressed as there was no one else in the room. Though the crew's attention was drawn to a enlarged version of Nami's first wanted poster that consumed an entire wall of the building. Genzo looked red, understandable as he'd just been part of a real shouting match. With a handkerchief he wiped his forehead as he had been sweating.

"Yes, what all would you like with me?" the man said. He looked and saw two men, a young woman, and a large blue fox. "Keep the dumb animal outside please." he said calmly. Emanuel just about attacked him right there but Alice stopped him from talking and led him outside. The two could still hear and Genzo was happy now. To be sure he was a bit freaked out by the fact that the fox seemed angry with him.

"Thank you, as I said, state your business." Genzo said.

"You're the mayor correct? Allow me to get to the point. We are the New Dawn Pirates and we wish to speak with Cat Burglar Nami. We've heard we need your approval before we can do so." Frozox said.

"What?! You want to talk with Nami?.... Did you say New Dawn? I knew I knew some of your faces somewhere." Genzo said fussing with the newspaper and new wanted posters. John had seen a copy just like it in the bar.

"Well what do you know, you really are the New Dawn? So you want to speak with Nami. I'm afraid I can't allow that." Genzo said.

"What do you mean?" John said.

"I simply can't allow anyone to come near her. Even if you've established a reputation of being against the Marines, I can't trust you'll leaver her or her family alone. I'm sorry but that is final." Genzo said. Emanuel couldn't take it. He walked back into the room.

"Isn't there anything we could do? We have to see her!" Emanuel said. Genzo didn't seem all that surprised that the fox had talked. Since it's initial reaction he'd suspected something.

"No I can't say there--" Genzo said. All at once he was interrupted.

"Genzo! There's trouble! A new group of pirate hunters!" a man said as he rushed into the room. He was short on breath.

"They're attacking the shopping area." the man said.

"What? Is anyone there fighting them?" Genzo said.

"Yes sir! But they can't hold out that much longer. These guys are something else." the man said. Genzo stood up and was deep in thought. It didn't take long and he decided.

"Well, then. You kids just got your chance." Genzo said.

"What?" several of the crew said.

"This is your chance. It seems we can't handle these pirate hunters. Defeat them and run them out of town and I'll let you see Nami." Genzo said.

"Alright, we'll do it!" Emanuel said. The four rushed off, given some directions as to where to go.

Jack and Koji had ended up somewhere in the shopping center of the town. Their goal had been quickly forgotten as several things had distracted them. As they walked they couldn't help but feel they'd forgotten something.

"Say, Jack. Doesn't it feel like we should be doing something?" Koji asked. Then it clicked in Jack's head.

"Oh! That's right! We're supposed to be finding clues on Cat Burglar Nami. I'd completely forgotten." Jack said. The two began walking with a more brisk pace when suddenly they saw a man crash through the side of a building. Looking back to where he'd come from they noticed a group of four men.

"I won't ask again: Tell us where to find the Cat Burglar!" a man in a large coat yelled.

Damb you Andx, what a cliff hanger right as my character and that part was about to be introduced, you know now I'm excited and I can't wait for next week to come as it will show the intro for my character lmao cannot wait. By the way two awesome chapters, very well written once again, and I loved it because it gave a bit of a foreshadow of my character and what he's about.

Glad you liked it and glad the cliff hanger angered you like anime episodes often do. lol

Yeah, I left some hints that your guy isn't exactly attached to the group he's with and that he really only wants one thing. Now I actually have to write a chapter before a release day. That's a new feeling. lol

I suppose I could respond with Christophe to get the RP back up on the top.

I know Black was caught up in the War RP, which is practically dead now, so we should be able to get him in on it. I don't know Exodia's excuse however.
