[spoiler=[i]Chapter 2[/i] Floating on the Ocean. An Unexpected Ally Appears!]

"A month on the ocean........ And I STILL don't know where I'm going!!" Emanuel yelled out as his boat drifted on. He lied down and looked up at the sky. The wind was light, but present and it pushed the few wispy clouds along their way. In every direction Emanuel could see nothing but more water. He didn't exactly know how to navigate, something he hadn't thought of until he got on the ocean. It wasn't that he was worried, but he couldn't just wander around aimlessly forever. His boat wasn't exactly made to carry large amounts of supplies so he would need to stop by a city soon.

 

Emanuel sat up and ran his hand through his hair to get it out of his face.

"I know I have to stay patient through the beginning if I want to get anywhere on my voyage, but no one told me it'd be this boring!" Emanuel said. Emanuel always needed to be doing something, but the boat was too small to do anything on and he had no one to talk to. And while that first problem would be present for a bit longer in his voyage, the second was about to addressed.

 

Another hour passed and Emanuel had started to take a nap. Before he knew what was going on he boat shook as if it had hit something; probably because it had.

"What the heck!" Emanuel said as he got up. He looked and saw another, even smaller, vessel had struck his. Inside there was a man. His skin was a sort of light brown and his hair was gray and at the moment messed up. His clothes were practically rags and he looked like he had been bleeding a few days ago as Emanuel could clearly see dried blood.

"Hey! Are you okay?!" Emanuel yelled out. The man hardly shifted, it seemed he could hardly move. The man said something but Emanuel couldn't make it out. Emanuel brought this stranger onto his boat and moved to get his food and water. This man was either dead tired, starving, heavily beaten, or more likely some combination of the three. Emanuel got some bread and water and attempted to rouse the man. Slowly his eyes opened. Emanuel took note of a few scars across his face.

 

"Where, am I?" the man asked. Emanuel put forth the bread and water and motioned he should take it.

"You're onboard the ship of Captain Emanuel D. Koertig. Pirate Captain of about one at the moment!" Emanuel said excitedly. The man took the food and began eating it, from the speed with which he ate Emanuel could tell he had been starving. Then the man suddenly stopped eating and looked as if he was confused or worried.

"Where's Krook?" the man asked.

"Pardon me? Who?"

"Krook! He was just with me in the boat!" the man yelled. Obviously this Krook meant a lot to him.

"You were the only one in the bo-" Emanuel said, at that a strange cry came from the man's boat. A small penguin of all things hopped up and sluggishly ran over to the man.

"There you are. Look what I have." the man said. Krook starting hopping with delight as the man broke some of the bread off and fed him. It seemed the penguin hadn't been able to eat either.

 

Emanuel presented the man with a few more things to eat, all of which he accepted. After he finished the man looked much better.

"Thank you, Emanuel was it? I really needed that. Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Frozox L. Aisu, and this is Krook." he said first motioning to himself and then the penguin. The penguin had taken a seemingly habitual place on Frozox's shoulder.

"Frozox, and Krook. Well glad I was able to help. But I have to ask, how did you end up like that?" Emanuel asked. Frozox's smile faded as he remembered what had happened.

"It's complicated, and I'm not sure I need to bother you with the details." Frozox said after a minute of thinking.

"Hey, fire away! I've got all the time in the world and heaven knows I need something to do." Emanuel said. At this he turned behind and pulled out a chocolate bar. He opened it and a sort of mad gleam flashed across Frozox's face.

"Want som-" Emanuel said, but just as he motioned to give some to Frozox, Frozox had taken it and was stuffing it down.

"Chocolate! HOW LONG HAS IT BEEN?!!!" he screamed out. Then he felt embarrassed at the outburst and returned to his usual self.

"Sorry, anyway, I'll get back to why I was out here. For the past five years, I've been a Government Slave." Frozox said with a serious look on his face. Krook as if responding to his master's feelings got a sad look on his face as well.

"A slave! For the Government!" Emanuel replied in shock.

 

"Yes. My whole island was put under the 'protection' of the Marines. For awhile we'd been able to fight off most pirates that attacked our island. We had to. We got so many attacks. From an early age I researched on how to make amazing weapons. And I succeeded at age seven; though I'll tell you more about that later. The Government must have felt we would oppose them if allowed to continue, what with Straw Hat Luffy's dying message inspiring such rebellion. Eventually the guise of 'protecting' us was too burdensome to keep up and they attacked my island. I was twenty three when they came and took whatever people they felt could be of value. I was taken for my scientific prowess. For the next five years I was forced to work for them in various weapons and torture devices for Impel Down. Just ten days ago they finally said I was free to go. They gave me a small rowboat and sent me on my way. I just kept rowing as there was no other alternative. Two days ago I became incredibly weak. A lack of food and water was beginning to kill myself, and Krook. Then today I met you!" Frozox said.

 

Emanuel took the whole message well. Though the part about the Government reawakened his hatred of them.

"It certainly was fortunate that you ran into me then. So I was thinking, want to join my crew?" Emanuel said casually. A moment of silence passed.

"What!? You're offering me a position just like that!?" Frozox yelled.

"Sure, you're strong, smarter than I am, and don't have anywhere else to go. I figured it would be best if you joined." Emanuel said. Frozox burst out into laughter.

"I think I might have to take you up on that." Frozox said. And with that Emanuel's crew was officially formed.

 

 

[spoiler=[i]Chapter 3[/i] Land at the Autumn Island. Frozox Meets a Shadow of His Past!]

As the crew of now two, three if you counted the penguin, continued the goals of the group were shared. Emanuel recounted his goal to show the world that the World Government shouldn't be ruling them. Frozox, though understanding, was a bit shocked at this.

"You really think you can do that? You're only one person." Frozox said.

"What are you talking about? We're two people now." Emanuel said.

"Right. But do you really think it's possible? The Government isn't exactly what you'd call weak." Frozox replied.

"If I didn't think it was possible I wouldn't have set out on this journey in the first place. So Frozox, what are your goals?" Emanuel said.

 

"Well, I don't suppose you've ever heard of the Five Legendary Elements?" Frozox said. Emanuel searched his mind to see if he'd ever heard of anything like that.

"No I can't say I have heard of them. Are they important?" Emanuel said.

"Only to any scientist worth anything. They have the most unique properties and I'm sure that I could do some truly amazing things if I could even get my hands on one of them." Frozox said.

"They that good?" Emanuel asked.

"Better from what I've heard." Frozox replied.

"So is that it? You just want to study them? That's the only reason you want them?" Emanuel asked. Frozox suddenly looked quite serious and deep in thought. In his mind he remembered his father from a time when he himself was only ten.

 

"Come here Frozox. I have something amazing to tell you about." Frozox's father said.

"What is it? What is it?" the young Frozox excitedly asked. His father took him up on his lap and showed him a book with breathtaking illustrations.

"These are what scientists call the Five Legendary Elements. In the right hands, miracles could be performed regularly." his father told him.

"Wow, I'd love to have some one day. I know I'd be able to do those great things you talk about." Frozox said.

"I know you would be able to. Which is why I want to give you this." his father said as he handed him a strange ring. The ring held a single jewel that was split into five differently colored sections.

"What is it?" Frozox asked.

"It's a sort of element detector. Each section of this ring contains the tiniest amounts of each of the Five Legendary Elements. When you come near some of one of the elements, the corresponding section of the ring will glow." his father explained.

"Really?!" Frozox asked.

"Yes, now promise me that when you're old enough to go on your own journey, you won't forget bring some of the elements back to me. To show me the kind of scientist, and the king of man you've become." his father said. Frozox replied eagerly that he would.

 

Focusing back in the present Frozox was ready to respond.

"I suppose I do have another reason. For my father." he said. He looked at his hand with a sad look on his face. During his time as a slave, a Marine had taken his father's ring from him.

 

With that finished the two noticed they were approaching an island. The island was grandly decorated with a single mountain in the back and many trees around the island. Every tree's leaves had the Autumn colors meaning it had to be an Autumn island. The tiny ship pulled up to the harbor. Emanuel and Frozox readied to go onto the island. Frozox had a non ruined set of clothing which he put on along with fixing his hair. The clothing was black with some yellow decorations. Most notable was a large scarf and a pure white katana. When Emanuel raised questions about them he simply explained they were his weapons. Emanuel himself put on his grieves and gauntlets. The reason they had their weapons about was the simple fact that the Marines seemed to be everywhere on this island.

 

As they set off to the town they noticed something incredibly odd. All of the people moved with a hurried pace and kept their heads down. Whenever they passed a Marine they bowed in respect, though it seemed much more out of fear. Something was clearly wrong on the island. Emanuel and Frozox walked into a sort of bar, not that either of them were in the mood for drinking. The people inside didn't seem quite so oppressed as the people outside, in fact some were quite irate.

"The heck do these Marines think they are?! They can't just come to any town and run it like we're all slaves or something!" a man who sounded sober enough said.

 

"Sounds like the Marines are oppressing the people here." Emanuel said.

"Wouldn't be the first time it's happened. The towns in the East Blue are under particular inspection." Frozox said. The two sat down at a vacant table and talked a bit about what they should do about supplies. The a man came running in screaming at the top of his lungs.

"Everyone! It's Marine Captain Savage! He's coming in here!" he yelled. At this all of the 'angry' men got out of their chairs and bowed themselves all the way to the floor. Emanuel and Frozox, having no idea what was happening, remained seated. The doors to the room flung open as two Marines entered as a rather large man entered. This person stood at about seven feet, a height that almost demanded respect. His muscles were large and well defined, his hair was a very shaggy brown. The man sat down and looked around the room. His eyes fell squarely on Emanuel and Frozox.

"What the hell do you two think you're doing sitting in my presence?!!!" he yelled in a large deep voice. Emanuel completely ignored him but Frozox seemed worried and then his faced turned to complete anger.

"That man! He's the one who lead the attack on my island... and the one who took my father's ring from me!" Frozox sort of muttered to himself. Captain Savage walked over to the table.

"Do I need to teach you people how to show some respect?!" he yelled as he grabbed Emanuel by his shoulder. Emanuel immediately shoved the tightly gripped hand off his right shoulder.

"No you lowly Marine, I just need to knock you out for a few years for touching me!" and with that Emanuel kicked Savage, being sure to hit with the spikes on his grieves. Savage flew into, and broke, a table five feet behind him. Everyone in the bar had a truly stunned look on their face, especially Captain Savage.

 

 

[spoiler=[i]Chapter 4[/i] First Conflict with the Marines! Frozox Settles The Score.]

With the attack to savage delivered Emanuel casually walked out of the building. The two Marines with Savage didn't even try to attack him as they were to preoccupied with making sure Savage was okay. Frozox was a bit shocked himself, but mostly because he knew this Marine Catpain. He rushed out to Emanuel.

"Wait!" Frozox said.

"What? Oh, I'm sorry, did you want to deck that guy?" Emanuel said almost laughing.

"You're just going to leave? And it's not that. It's just, I know who that is." Frozox said.

"Well, he'll be coming after us shortly if he gets up. Let's go get the supplies while we have time." Emanuel said. The whole situation was clearly not bothering him.

 

Frozox reluctantly followed after Emanuel into a nearby store. The news about what happened to the Captain had already spread around town. The shop owner recognized the two from what he'd heard.

"Oh! You're those guys! Those guys who beat up Captain Savage! Please, have whatever you'd like." he said. It was hard to tell if he decided to give them free merchandise out of thanks or out of fear as both seemed to be present in his voice. Emanuel thought little of it and gladly took what he needed. Emanuel took the many bags all on his own and began the way back to the boat.

 

Inside the bar Savage stirred. He got up with a rage he had hardly ever known. The kick had hurt and he wanted the man who did it to him dead.

"WHERE IS HE!!!!!" he screamed out. He burst outside and sighted Emanuel and Frozox on their way to the ship.

"You! Stop where you stand! You're both about to die!" he said charging at them. He drew his large two-handed sword. Emanuel turned around ready to battle but was blocked by Frozox who had stepped in front of him.

"Please allow me... captain." Frozox said. His voice was serious and determined. Emanuel knew better than to get in his way.

"Alright, I'll be back in a bit. You take care of things here." Emanuel said as he walked off to the boat.

"Where do you think you're going?!" Savage yelled charging at Emanuel. Before he knew what happened a spiked wall of ice appeared in front of Savage, blocking his path. Frozox moved his white katana back from the ground where he had put it to form the wall back to a ready position. The wall melted and Savage focused on Frozox.

"You'll have to forgive my captain, but he won't be joining us. Instead I'll have to occupy you, Savage!" Frozox yelled. At that he lunged out at the captain. The captain dodged. Frozox lunged at him again and again Savage dodged. This happened eight more times.

"What's wrong?! Nothing's working?! I guess you're just a waste of my time!" Savage said. He swung his sword at Frozox who guarded with his katana and jumped back a few feet.

"Wait a minute. I think I remember you. Oh, you're one of those slaves from Glacies Island! Oh such good memories! I liked destroying that place. Is that why you're fighting me? Angry that I attacked you island and enslaved you? Well with your skills it isn't going to get you anywhere! This is where you di-" Savage said. He was interrupted as eight large spikes of ice surrounded him, pinning him in his position.

 

"What is this?" Savage said.

"That's right, I'm from Galcies Island. The place you destroyed. But don't think I'd fight you for something like that. You took something dear to me, and I'll be taking it back." Frozox said.

"When did this happen." Savage said, the ice was still puzzling him.

"Why do you think I kept missing? I don't do anything that doesn't help the end result. Every time I went past you with an attack I set one of these spikes in motion. Now then..." Frozox said as he surveyed Savage's hand.

"There!" Frozox said. Savage was still wearing the ring he'd taken from Frozox. Frozox took it off his finger and sighed a breath of relief. He then turned away and began to walk.

"Hey! Where are you going?! Is that it?! You wanted a stupid ring?!" Savage yelled still trapped.

"Fool. I was going to let you get away unscathed, but now I can't do that." Frozox said. He drew out a small vial of a strange red-black mixture. He uncorked it and held it over the ice.

"Do you know what this is? No, of course you don't. This will turn the ice surrounding you into Black Ice. I can tell you now, contact with Black Ice is not fun. It won't kill you, but you'll wish it would once this starts." he said.

"Wait! Stop! You don't need to do this!" Savage yelled, he hated the idea of pain.

 

"Oh but I do. You insulted my father's gift. And for that... you will suffer." Frozox said. At that he let a single drop of the black liquid fall on the ice. It immediately became a deep reddish black. At contact Savage screamed in pain. The parts in direct contact were cut very bad and the general area received second degree burns. The ice would melt in about eight minutes. But those eight minutes would be the most painful of Mr. Savage's life.

 

Frozox walked back to the ship and recapped the vial of Black Ice liquid. Emanuel walked up and greeted him.

"Seems like you took care of things." Emanuel said.

"More than you could know." Frozox replied. At this Krook jumped out of the boat and rushed up to Frozox who patted him on the head as he approached.

"Well, if you're ready to go we could be on our way. Of course staying here's an option too." Emanuel said.

"No, let's go. I already have everything I want." Frozox said as he put the ring on his own left hand. Somehow Savage had managed to avoid damaging it. Frozox then recounted how the ring had been his father's gift to Emanuel.

 

Everything was in order and the two readied to go. Then suddenly Emanuel collapsed.

"Emanuel!" Frozox said. He rushed over and began to examine what had happened.

"Emanuel what's wrong?!" Frozox said. His medical knowledge seemed to be required.

"I don't... know." Emanuel said as he passed out.

Glad you could make it Bakura and thanks for accepting him Andx. Andx I would suggest you release like maybe 1 or 2 Chapters weekly Like 1 on Monday and the 2nd on Friday, that way it gives you a bit to work on your story while you keep us anxiously waiting to read the next one.

 

As for the topic "Villains" I've always thought One Piece as intriguing for this idea because in reality normally the Pirates are the bad guys of the show, but in this case their not. I love when a story, movie or anything takes the normal bad guys and twists it around and makes them the good guy's.

 

Now the same good be said for the good guy's normally when you think of the marines you think of someone good or someone their to help/save you. But here in One Piece it's totally opposite their the main villains and it just goes to show how creative the writer is when it comes to the plot.

I would have posted one or two but I won't be able to get on next week so think of it as making up. (Sorry I forgot to mention that. From April 5th, next Monday, to April 11th, the following Sunday, I'll be on a band trip and won't be able to get on.)

 

Oda, the author, does have a good amount of cool ideas. He really knows how to make you like a character and he really knows how to make you hate a character.

I'm not sure what others have to say but I don't think anything has surpassed the awesomeness of Lucci vs. Luffy.

[spoiler=[i]Chapter 5[/i] A Strange Disease. Emanuel Approaches Death!]

Frozox reacted quickly. He had to until he knew Emanuel would be okay. First of all he needed a proper place to let Emanuel rest that would also allow Frozox to treat him. He got Emanuel under his arm and proceeded the hard walk to the inn in town. As they approached a rush of people came. They were thanking Frozox for his brave efforts. They all wanted to thank him' date=' but they were all blocking his path.

"Yes, yes, that's very nice but I need to get my captain to the inn now!" he said. At this the crowd not only assisted but assisted Frozox. The innkeeper showed them to a room and Emanuel was laid down on the bed. Frozox immediately pulled out his medical tools and began running tests to see what could be wrong.

 

Test after test came finished and every single one insisted that Emanuel was fine. Frozox couldn't believe. No one passed out over nothing but the tests had never been clearer; as far as medicine said, Emanuel was in no way ill. In frustration Frozox attempted to wake Emanuel.

"Come on Emanuel! If you don't get up and tell me what's wrong I won't be able to help you!" he said. He shook Emanuel as much as he felt was safe but Emanuel refused to stir. Krook made a sad cry as Frozox put his face in his hands thinking.

[i']"What is it? What couldn've caused this? He's perfectly healthy."[/i] Frozox thought.

 

Emanuel was in a strange place in his mind. He opened his eyes and saw nothing but darkness. He looked in every direction he could but saw nothing but... nothing.

"Emanuel. ........Emanuel." a very strange voice called from nowhere.

"Who is that?! Where am I?!" Emanuel called out.

"No one you don't know very well. I've been waiting." the voice said. At this Emanuel saw something in front of him. It was, a blue kyuubi. In fact it looked just like his full fox form.

"Waiting? What are you? You look just-"

"Just like you do in your full fox form, yes I know." the voice interrupted. The fox sat down in front of him. He stared at Emanuel with a look in his eye like he was looking through him.

"I've been waiting for you, to tell you something. I want to tell you that we aren't compatible." the fox said.

"Not compatible? What are you talking about? Who are you?" Emanuel called back.

"Come now Emanuel, you already know. There's no need to question me. But as it seems you won't cooperate otherwise I'll tell you. You ate me, you use my power on a regular basis, and you disgust me. You and I are not compatible and as such you will die." the fox said very casually.

 

"What do you mean? Wait... you can't be.... the spirit in the devil fruit?" Emanuel said.

"There! I knew I didn't need to tell you. You knew the whole time. You've just accepted it now. I just thought I'd tell you that you're going to die soon. I felt you deserved to know why. Now then, why don't we begin? There's no point in prolonging this." the fox said. At this it took on the half-man half-fox form except something seemed wrong. Darkness was surging from it and it looked almost demonic.

"Join me now Emanuel! In the abyss of death!" he screamed. The strange darkness began to surround Emanuel. He could feel his strength leave him as it did so. This thing, his own power, was trying to kill him.

 

Back in the real world Frozox saw Emanuel's condition worsen. His pulse was growing faint and Frozox still had no clue why. Frozox was growing incredibly frustrated as his inability to do anything.

"Damn it Emanuel you can't die here! You can't, not before you fulfill your goal! You can't abandon that." Frozox yelled, desperate to get some response. 'If I didn't think it was possible I wouldn't have set out on this journey in the first place.' isn't that what you said? You're determined to see this happen so don't go dying here!" Frozox yelled.

 

Inside Emanuel felt a strange light. The darkness had all but consumed him. Yet here there was some force calling out to him. He heard a voice reciting his goal to him. At this thought Emanuel became angry.

"Like hell, I'm going to die here! Not until I've fulfilled my dream! If our incompatibility is the reason I have to die, then I'll just force us to be compatible!" Emanuel screamed at the fox.

 

Emanuel then transformed into his full fox form. It was certainly as surprise to Frozox who hadn't heard anything about this Devil Fruit power yet.

"The heck is going on! He turned into a fox?" Frozox said. Emanuel then got up as if he'd never been ill. He had almost no recollection of what had happened inside his mind.

"What do you know? I feel better." Emanuel casually said.

"What the hell are you!" Frozox yelled at Emanuel. Had he been calm at the moment the fact that a fox was talking to him would've have been alarming.

"Oh, I didn't tell you. I have a devil fruit power. Inu Inu no mi, Model: Kyuubi. I assume you can tell what it does." Emanuel said. He had a big grin across his face, well as much as a fox could grin, and all nine of his tails were waving about behind him.

 

After a few minutes the two calmed down and Emanuel attempted to describe what was wrong. But he could find no real reason as to why he was ill and could hardly remember what had gone on inside of his mind.

"Don't go nearly dying anymore.", it was all Frozox could say after it was settled.

"Well I feel fine now, must be something about my full fox form that makes me better. As we've already been given the room we might as well stay here the night." Emanuel said. He moved around the room and indeed felt pretty good. He liked his animal form, it was an odd thing to be able to transform into an animal. The two decided on staying in the inn for the night. The next day they would move on.

I agree Andx, Lucci vs Luffy was epic, but I'm truly not sure what is the most epic battle yet I have to watch the anime version of where the Manga is at to be a 100% sure though.
