I have something to say......

I've been reading forum posts about cards and I noticed one thing and I have this to ask: What is the point of having the ability to add so-called 'Fake' Types if EVERYONE BASHES THEM?!?!?!?! Personally, I like the idea for having CUSTOM types, so you can make cards that only effect certain cards, and saying, "only effect type" is easier than saying, "only effect cards with in their name." I'm sure I'm not the only one that has thought this, but I'm now speaking out. I say that bashing CUSTOM types should be frowned upon, rather than the CUSTOM types being bashed.

I get that' date=' but what if you make something that's like an Elemental that does not fall under 'Pyro', 'Aqua', or any other type, like something made out of Air or even Light? There wouldn't really be any real type that matches.

Things made out of Air have been categorized as Winged-Beast in real cards before, or occasionally as Fiend.

Things made out of Light have been consistently categorized as Thunder in real cards.

In my opinion' date=' that doesn't match, as NOT ALL THINGS MADE OF AIR NECESSARILLY HAVE WINGS!!!!!!!!!!!

Winged-Beast is a mistranslation of the OCG name for the Type, "Bird". Considering that even the early Bird-Type monsters generally weren't actually birds, the Type can certainly encompass air elementals just as well as it can any other air-based non-birds.

Second off, not all Light is Thunder-ish. For example, what if you have a monster that is an orb of Light. That wouldn't work with Thunder, or, in my opinion, any other type, depending on what the card's creator meant for the orb of light to be.

I don't mind Fake Types as long as they are really creative and not overused or stupid.

i agree. Also why do people hate divine beasts?! do you like those IceBite?

Yeah, you probably did not see the little fad thing me, Eurynome, Zeonark, and a few other people did a little back in the day.

There are real cards that are purely orbs of light that are Fairy-Type. That's not exactly an unprecedented case.

The thing that always bothered me was that there was never a real Type for things like engineers, scientists, and other non-combatant support humans. You can go the Magical Scientist route and make them Spellcasters, claiming that their power is magical rather than mundane-scientific, but that's essentially making them something entirely different. You can make them Warriors because they'd presumably be fighting with their hands, and humans who do that are Warriors, but even if that's how they'd perform in combat that's not really what you'd classify them as at all - TTGL has warriors, but Leeron is not one of them. You could always just say that, since they aren't really designed to fight, they shouldn't even be considered monsters (not even low-stat ones) and could make them Continuous Spells or something, but that just leads to weirdness where a) you have creatures not being treated as creatures like all the other creatures, and b) you have odd combinations like Spellcasters receive Spell Counters for "casting" people. (What do they think they are, Planeswalkers?)

The only official examples of something like this that I can think of dodge the problem, like Magical Scientist, which makes his science magical (obviously) and thus a Spellcaster, Kozaky, which makes him a demon rather than a human and thus a Fiend, and Iron Blacksmith Kotetsu, which makes him a half-someanimal rather than a human and thus a Beast-Warrior.

I see nothing wrong with inventing a Fake Type for cases like that where it seems necessary. But to make a new Fake Type for things adequately covered by existing Types - yes, including Light Elemental or whatever - is just poor design.
