Pokemon: Island Challenge [started and accepting]

Hannah looked starteled and saw another trainer. Did he allready have the other badges? Probley not, he probley just got here. "Now go with Dark Pulse!" The attack hit the Cradily head on. What is Neige doing?!, Hannah thought, Is her head in the clouds or something? Gangar and Arcanine seemed to sense something was up to. Gangar just stared at the Cradily and its trainer. Arcanine glared.

" Swampert, use Hyper beam as fast as you can, go!" ordered David. The hyper beam was like the move Extreme Speed.

[Auralady]

"Swampert use Hyper beam as well!", Emily yelled as the two powerfull attacks collided with eachother. Now we have a problem since both our pokemon can not move, thought Emily to herself.

[Time Psyduck]

There wasn't enough time for Ludicolo's dish to refill between the strikes, so the defence used against the last attack wouldn't work again. But this time I don't need it to, Valentine thought. "You've done well, Jake," he told his opponent. "With three of your pokémon, and none of them evolved, you've done more to my team than most people manage with six. But I think this is probably it. Do you really think a sleepwalking fire-type is going to last against a Ludicolo that is, quite literally, in it's element? Ludicodo, standby with water pulse," he added, and the two waited for the Vulpix to close. Vulps jumped to make contact, which was Valentine's signal. "Fire," he stated flatly, and the orb of water crashed into the Vulpix just before it, it's attack severely weakened, tackled Ludicolo. With Vulpix both asleep and executing a move, there was no way for it to dodge in time.

"Ugh, darn it, Swampert, come back." yelled David as Swampert came back to the Pokeball. "Empoleon lets try this again, Ice Beam!"

[Grunt Issun]

It was a complete hit. Vulps was fainted on the ground "Vulps, back" Jake said glumly. Jake sighed sad from losing, but when emlie jumped back up on his shoulder he cheered up "Hey tux whats your name?" Jake asked. while waiting for a response jake said "Why dont you come back to my cabin so our pokemon can relax." Jake suggested to the man

[Auralady]

The beam hit Swampert and froze him. Emily waited for a minute,"Icy Claw." Swamperts claws took on a diamond like look and glowed untill he burst from the ice prison and slashed at Empoleon. "We don't give up so easily David.", Emily smiled. As Swampert jumped back,"One more time with Icy Claw into Iron Tail!" Both attacks landed right after another and the force of the attacks sent Empoleon against the wall. "Looks like we are even so far. You took out Vaporeon and I took out Empoleon. What's next?", Emily asked enthusiastically.

[Time Psyduck]

"My name?" Valentine repeated as he recalled Ludicolo. "Well I suppose you deserve that much at least. My name is Valentine," he finally answered, offering his hand, "and as you may or may not have gathered, I specialise in the grass-type. "That was a great battle. As I told you before, most people don't get anywhere near as far as you did when they battle me, so you could even consider this a victory, of sorts." Valentine thought about the small red and green badges that sat in his pocket. Certainly if anyone he'd battled on this trip deserved one it was this boy, but then this wasn't a gym challenge, so there was no reason he had to. Still, he'd probably be able to find him again at some point.

 

"I'm afraid I'll have to decline your offer though," he continued. "I don't go with children to where they're staying as a matter of policy." Not after the last time.

[Grunt Issun]

"Well I'll see you later...mabye...what ever." Jake said and went back to his cabin. when he got there he decided to use his laptop, but when he opened up the internet he saw somthing and started reading it " recently with a inccident in the mahonn region the pokemon leuge had to close down, One of the gym leaders, Valentine John Carlisle de le Fleur Rose, decided to take this oppertunity to have a vacation at the five islands of the pokemon island challange." Jake read aloud. then saw a picture of the man he was just battling. "So the valentine i was just batteling, was a GYM LEADER?!?!?" Jake said suprised. "No wonder he was so good" Jake said dazed. "Well guys come out and have some food." He said sending out his woody and vulps. "Okay woody, here you go, I just mixed grass pokemon food with ice, so i think it should be good" Jake said giving a bowl to woody. "Okay girl, I made some special food for you, This should help you heal from all those water hits." He said to vulps as he gave her a bowl of food. "and heres your favorite Emlie, Eat up everybody" Jake told his pokemon.

Valentine headed back to the hotel room. He hadn't expected to be back so soon, or rather he hadn't expected to be back without having battled the gym leader. Still, that was a refreshing change of pace, a battle that's not all about power, and it not like the gym leader's likely to go anywhere.

 

Having pulled various supplies out of the medicine cabinet in the room, he sat on the bed and set about healing his pokémon. Bellossom was first, since the ice damage was most likely to become critical - status ailments were always the most dangerous, but Cradily's typing gave it better protection from the burn. Bellossom seemed to be rather down, and Valentine sensed that the disappointment was as much with herself as with him. "I'm sorry," he said, causing the tiny pokémon to jerk her head up. "I didn't think the Snover would get the second shot off that quickly. I shouldn't have had you stay out anyway. Plus Ludicolo won thanks to you, and you did a great job. Plus you deserve a treat," he added, pulling out a case of cubic sweets and picking one out. He handed it to Bellossom, who grabbed it happily and went to sit at the other end of the bed. He then proceeded to move on to Cradily, who seemed less concerned about either her performance or the result of the battle, whilst Ludicolo stood under the shower, letting her own ability heal her.

"Well you guys all charged up?" Jake asked his pokemon "Ratta" "Vul" "snow" Theu replied hapily "Good, well then lets go find a gym thats actually OPEN!!" Jake said, "But first, I cant belive that guy was a gym leader. You think some one would mention that before you battle like I dont know 'But i must warn you, I am a gym leader' or somthing like that, but noooo." Jake exclaimed. "Well lets go off to what ever gym awaits us, that battle made us each stronger." Jake said hapily

[Auralady]

Hannah sighed. She thought this was a good idea but taking out Neige's Cradily like this was just not good for a Gym Leader. "Ok Gangar come back. Thats good for today.",at the puzzled look on Cradily's and Neige's faces,"You clearly have other things on your mind and there is another challenger here for your badge. We can battle later. I need to go man the Hot Springs anyway and raise my sister's pokemon. Hopefull Tyranitar has not torn the place up. Well, see yeah Neige. If you ever want to relax don't hesitate to come by." With that Hannah and Arcanine left the gym.

IC: "Finnaly I can challange the gym, Niege I challange you to a 3 on 3 battle for your badge, what do you say? you have to accept" Jake said confident "Emlie and I are ready for you and any pokemon you may have." Jake said still confident. Jake was ready for niege, despite her being a gym leader, he doubted she could be as powerful as valentine. He knew that his pokemon were powerful from all the training with valentine. He was almost sure that he could win, but was careful not to get to confident, that would be bad if he lost.

[Mr. Hyde]

Lance awoke from his nap. He scratched his head and looked above him. His gligar was hanging upside down from a tree with it's tail. "Hey buddy, time to get a move on. We gotta get that first badge man." Lance threw a pepple at Gligars head. It hit it's eye and it fell from the tree. Lance laughed out loud. "We aren't gonna win if you act like that dude." Gligar growled.

Hannah considerd calling Emily again since it hadbeen awhile since they last spoke but Hannah realized the first place her sister would go with Ninetales and the team was the Shard Island Gym to face David. She debated on wheather or not to call but with arcanine nuding her she decited to wait since her sister was probley in a battle with David right now. She walked back to the Glacial Hot Springs with Arcanine at her side.

Lance arrived at Shard Island. He walked around a bit with Gligar before he found the gym. "I wonder if the gym leader's even here..." He glanced at Gligar. "Would you even be up for it bud..i mean, you are a ground type. We're mostly fighting water types." Gligar smirked and opened his mouth. Sparks started to surround his fangs. Lances eyes widened. "What! You learned Thunder Fang?!" Gligar nodded and laughed at the same time. "Well that's good. You'll stand a great chance dude. But just incase," Lance held out his hand revealing the Razor Fang, "I'll give it to you if you have trouble. Got it?" Gligar nodded.

"So whats it going to be next David?",Emily was enjoying this a lot. Then again she loved battling in general, gave her a chance to see what she andher pokemon needed to still perfect andit gave her ideas for new moves. Thats how she came up with ICy Claw for Swampert and Firewall for Ninetales after all.

[Mr. Hyde]

Lance walked into the gym, realizing there was a battle already taking place. The gym leader apparently only had a squirtle. "This is gonna be easy." Lance smirked. Gligar nodded and giggled. He looked at the girl battling him and waved. She was apparently holding her own self. Which would be fairly easy nonetheless

"hm good move Emily, now lets have some fun. Starmie lets go." Out came a starfish like creature from the Pokeball. "now Starmie, Psychic!" suddenly the Swampert flew into the sky. "throw him into the wall Starmie" there was a Swampert shaped hole into the wall were Starmie threw Swampert.

[LightShock]

"Typhlosion' date=' jump off the wall!" The Typhlosion was rolling for it's life. One tick of the Hyper Beam and typhlosion would be down. It rapidly spun out of the hole, and bounced off the wall. The Hyper Beam missed! "Now, don't forget, Mark. Hyper Beam has a drawback, your Pokemon won't be able to move, so, it won't be able to dodge a Blast Burn!" Typhlosion jumped from the ground into the air. It rubbed fur together in areas to create massive fire in it's mouth. The Typhlosion's Blast Burn was heading straight for the immobolized Manectric, and at Lightning Speed. "Also, because of Typhlosion's Ability Blaze, it's HP is low, so you know what that means. It's Blast Burn does double damage!" The Blast Burn was homing in on the helpless Manectric. Leobard knew that Manectric couldn't dodge. This might be the end of it. But, he then remembered the drawback of his own move, Blast Burn. Leonard has made another stupid mistake. Starraptor would be able to finish Typhlosion if it didn't recover of the immobilization of his Blast Burn. He knew this was the end.

Mark blinked, but then smiled.

"Yes, very impressive indeed...unfortunately, your Blast burn has the same Drawback!" Mark shouted, as His Manectric was blasted back, Definately down for the count.

"Awesoem stuff Lightshock. Return!" Mark shouted, calling his Faithful friend back.

"Now, SpeedBreaker, Come back out and finish this with BRAVE BIRD!!" MArk shouted, sending out his Staraptor, who, without even a moment's notice, Slammed into the Typhlosino with it's Brave Bird Attack.

IC: Kris sighed. This battle was over. No doubt it was a great battle, but it was an obvious win for the gym leader. Kris stood up and walked over to the stairs at the end of the seating. He walked down the stairs and was stopped by a man in his mid fortys, who told him the match was not over untill Typhlosion was rendered unconcious. "Well, that was abrave bird attack, one that is so powerful it causes recoil. I know what I'm talking about." Kris said, pushing the man out of his way. He stood against the railing of the seating and waited for the match to be declared finished.

[Envoy of Twilight]

Brandon left this island and went off to Frozen Island. He was hoping that was at least a leader there. He smiled as he walked in. "I'm here to challenge the gym leader, and nobody is going to stop me!", yelled Brandon with a look of pride. He started flexing, and so did his Shiftry walking beside him. "We! Are! So! Pumped!", he said, still flexing. Shiftry just kept on flexing as well, and it even brought a smile to it's face. Wether it was a look of embarassment or not, was unknown.

Having left the recuperating pokémon in his room, Valentine wandered down to the hotel lobby and began to look through the information on attractions in the area. Besides a helpful guide as to where the gyms were if he decided to face the others, he also discovered that there was a hot spring quite close by. There weren't any hot springs back home, if you didn't count the rather small and deep pool hidden high in the mountains behind tough pokémon, so it would be something different. After all, that was why he had come, for a change.

 

Half an hour later, having finally convinced Ludicolo to leave the shower, he was walking up towards what seemed to be the place, Bellossom now sitting on his shoulder. The place had said they took pokémon - although they'd probably have to be pretty backwards not - and the tiny grass type seemed almost more eager than it's trainer.
