cerberus21
So, I've noticed that some users have started posting their own songs in the music forum. As a musician, I support the creativity, but as a member of this site, I don't want to click on what looks like an interesting topic just to find a random list of words made by some eight year old trying to rap. PLEASE post your homemade songs here. That way you can still show off your creativity without clogging up the forums. This thread, like this forum, is for all types of music (including non-vocal pieces. If you feel like tabbing something out in text, be my guest). THIS IS NOT A CLUB. There is no form to fill out, no members, and no ranking system. Just post your songs, or make posts about other users lyrics. I'll post a song me my band is working on to break the ice. [spoiler=Breathe]Arms thrashing in the darkness, grabbing for your handI never thought I'd feel like this, a shadow of a man.I'm nothing more, I'm nothing less. The devil's lips, my fate caress So lay me down and let me bleed.Love born of pain and misery.Unhealing wounds, they will scream,Falsely fallen foes that still breathe. Why can't ILive this Life...and Breathe? All I needIs to believeThat there is still some hope for me.You've given up,You've given in.And now I'm paying for your sins. So lay me down and let me bleed.Love born of pain and misery.Unhealing wounds, they will scream,Falsely fallen foes that still breathe. Why can't ILive this life...and Breathe What have I done?Who have I become? I can't see with vision blurred,Heart so broke that breathing burns. So lay me down and let me bleed.Love born of pain and misery.Unhealing wounds, they will scream,Falsely fallen foes that still breathe. Why can't ILive this life? Why can't ILet it die?Why can't I...Breathe? It looks like a whiny emo song, but we're actually a metal band. Feel free to discuss. And please, post homemade songs HERE
Aibara
Good idea Cerberus! In fact, great idea! Now we can post songs in one thread. I'll post one, to start:[spoiler=Lunatic]He was a man,or he was a boy.He was another empty reason...Finding the time-too hard to find-none can escape from his prison! What if he is,too young to die.But if he is too delayed..He will find the truththrough the lies... Pre-chorusWhat if I died for you? What if I lived for you? You're a lunatic! Lunatic! LUNATIC! Chorus:You're a lunatic!(second vocals: Yes you are...)You're a lunatic.(second vocals:Ha, ha, ha!)You're a lunatic! You're a lunatic! You can't escape your fate... Even if you try.. After-chorusWatch me born, watch me walk, watch me rise, watch me fall, watch me die....And reborn. [solo] He was alone, or he was with friendstrying, just, to forget. There's a picture, nothing in it,but he will find something! What can force you to retry? What can force to decide? You'll remember things of past... Pre-chorus....Chorus....After-chorus.... Chorus (X 2) [outro] Well, that's it. We have found music for it, but we're not sure if the lyrics are enough.. The title and the chorus(lunatic) aren't very common with the other lyrics, but it's alright! So, may this thread live for a long time!
cerberus21
^I like the idea of backdrop vocals. Our band has tried a few songs like that, I might post one here a little later. Nice lyrics ^_^
Aibara
Thanx!:-) Anyway, here's a tipp. Sometimes, it sounds better, when a deep and a light voice, sing together... If both voices are good, then the vocals, together, sound great!;-) But, if you can't find two voices, like these, then second vocals are the best solution! Oh, and your song was very good, too!;-) Could I ask, what type of metal will it be? (Because it's certainly a metal song!:-))
cerberus21
We're more of a light metal band. We don't scream constantly, but our choruses tend to be loud. We usually end our songs with soft vocals and heavy guitars.
Aibara
Then, we have common opinions about metal... I don't like screaming and crowling, too. So, we make songs, with mild-prechorus, metal chorus[what I call "good-quality" metal] and rock music. And our songs end like that: the main guitarist plays an outro-solo and the other one plays the melodie of the song. Then, the solo-guitarist turn the volume of his guitar from 9 to 8, then, to 7 etc..., but the other guitarist keeps on playing as before. When the solo-guitarist's volume goes to 0, the other guitarist stops playing.. A little complicated, eh??:-O The vocals stop before the outro, of course.:-)
cerberus21
We do something similar. I think its easier to just gradually go higher up the fret bar (thus making an increasingly lower note) until the note becomes a sort of low moan. That sets the pace for a great break-down. cerberus21
BUMP. It'd be great if people could post discussing the above songs, if they aren't going to post their own =/
