deathghost101
Question- I'v heard there's a way to win a game of chess/checkers(forgot which one) in like 3-5 turns.............people proved it, but I have no idea how...........anyone know how.........?(LeCreateur I will assume that you know)
Sploda
It is possible to win a game of Chess in 3 turns, however it takes only one simple move to ruin the whole strategy.
Akumakagemaru
Stop rubbing it in... Wait what happened to the discussion of Strategy and Tactics? That is what this club is for do not get distracted! Just thought I'd try and get people to post in here again' date=' and it [i']is[/i] in a way related to tactics. Serlock Holmes is a brilliant detective, and is killed fighter. However, for all his brilliance, I doubt he would make a spectacular general. He makes a decent tactician though, to an extent. The fight scenes in it prove that, and I actually wish I had that kind of ability to predict and plan in a moment. It is possible to win a game of Chess in 3 turns' date=' however it takes only one simple move to ruin the whole strategy.[/quote'] And yes, I know this is possible, I think I've won in about that time on one occasion, but only because my mother messed up. Against anyone of your caliber I'm sure, it would be all but impossible, though still could happen, if you were distacted enough. And I'm looking forward to yor YCM RISK game! Wish I could help more, but I don't have much time lately, I can't even do some of the contests I've entered. Right now it's almost 5 am, and YCM was out almost all day when I was able to get to it. Sploda
Yeah same here, and I'm still just working on the names. and I never get distracted when playing Chess.
Akumakagemaru
That's good, though a lot of peple don't have such good focus, sadly. I don't have it, but partly because as long as it takes my parents to make their moves sometimes, I can look away for a while without missing much. Not exactly professional chess players here. And that's cool, wish I could help speed it up, but I'm not so good at that stuff, sorry.
Sploda
Well I made it to the semi-finals of a tournament once. We had 45 seconds per move, so I could be consider professional, but I don't consider myself professional.
Akumakagemaru
Awesome! I consider you professional. In fact, I was thinking of giving you a one time offer, since you've proven you're way above average, how about a test? You beat it, and you go straight to Supreme Mastermind. Only time I'll do this, so don't worry lol.
Sploda
Hmmm? Alright I'll take the test, I don't care if I win. I'm just a sucker for a challenge.
Akumakagemaru
lol a challenge you'l get...I'm going to use my Advanced Map for my strategy game as the base, but I'm going to put a lot of limitations on it. It'll be Code Geass, and you'll have to become Lelouch to obtain victory, if all works out. Gimme a few minutes to put it togther, and I'll let you know. Sploda
Become Lelouch? Well then all tasks at hand have already been cleared.
Akumakagemaru
Hmmm...here's a few gaols, that will be put into context: Defeat all enemies within 15 of your turns. Prevent enemy from reaching your Base for 10 of their turns. Enemy leader must be captured (no Energy, blocked in on all four sides). Enemy reinforcements arrive after 20 total turns. Sploda
Alright so give me the map. EDIT: Will I be playing as Lelouch, or was that just a refrence to how good I have to be?
Akumakagemaru
lol gimme a fw minutes, it takes a bit to get all ths stuff modified, even with the wonders of copy/paste. To whet your appetite, I thought i'd say this: In reference to your now (sadly) dead(?) topic "A matter of tactics", thisdis what I would do. Not perfect, but I like it. Have the Pikemen line in three lines (separate) in front of the archers, who will launch arrows with the sun behind them. The cavalry will split up to either side of the pikemen in lines, and circle in from the sides, closing the enemy in a V. The infantry will behind the last layer of pikemen and sweep around behind the cavalry, picking off stragglers who squeeze through, then closing in the gap to surround them. Sploda
Excellent, however if the enemy were to attack in waves your plan would be demolished as the second wave crashed into your force. With your troops disorganized from the surprise attack you would lose most of your force.
Akumakagemaru
You will be playing as yourself, more as a second-in-command to Zero. And thank you. I did say it wasn't perfect, just an on-the-spot idea. I would say though that the archers will change from firing into the midst of their allies, and start firing at he next wave, maybe holding an extra line of pikemen in reserve to supplement them by reiforcing the rear, and the infantry will also help reinforce, proving flakning support. Sploda
But what of the third wave? and the fourth? Your tactic would work if you had superior numbers, but without that you just kill about 2/5 of the enemy force before you were overwhelmed. Alright so no Geass, that is useful to know.
