deathghost101
Now why would I lose every battle I command Le Createur?
Sploda
@AkumaYes the risk game will take a long time to finish, but would probably be funnier than the other, you can decide tomorrow when you can get on again. @DeathghostYour wrong, without emotions you aren't human and if you aren't human you can't lead humans. Troops would sooner turn traitor than listen to a general who considers them "expendable." A true leader cares for his troops, respects his troops, and respects his enemy. Your descrepition of the "perfect" leader is, in fact the very thing a military must avoid. Thus by leading them cruelly, while your opponent cares for his troops will cause your troops morale to drop while theirs rises. Your troops will then betray you and then you will have lost. Akumakagemaru
That's good, and thanks, though I meant both would be good, at the same time. I also meant to ask, how would you model it after YCM? Hmm, seems we have a true leader amongst us...congrats Creator, you just bumped up a rank for your overall wisdom, and I can already see your skill withoute ven playing against you. Sploda
@AkumaWell I would create a map, basing it off of major things in YCM. For example 1 territory would be Club Pikachu, while another would be the "Game Lands" and once this is done I would have a risk-style map of YCM. If you'd like I can make the map tomorrow and PM it to you. I'm guessing about 32 territories and 3-6 players at once.
deathghost101
I believe that would lead to hesitation.......worrying about the lives of others more that a war that must be won would slow you down...........make you think more than you need to, Le Createur. Akumakagemaru
Hmm...interesting...yes, that'll work, thanks. Also, would you be intersted in cooperating on making a dual-layered map, either Star Wars (space/surface) or another genre like fantast or modern (surface/undeground)? deathghost101
This game seems.......awsome......using YCM as a game board.
Sploda
If a man doesn't think, is he a man at all? Hesitation leads to fear, fear leads to hope, hope leads to Strength, Strength leads to vicotry. Teach a man to fear, then he will survive for a man without fear would attack with no regard for self-preservation, and as such would become less than a man and a worthless soldier. As long as a man can hesitate he can win a battle. Of course as Sun Tzu said: "Victorious warriors win first and then go to war, while defeated warriors go to war first and then seek to win" Then there is this: "A man does not have himself killed for a half-pence a day or for a petty distinction. You must speak to the soul in order to electrify him."- Napoleon Bonaparte @AkumaWell I'll be using paint to draw the map but a simple space map would be easy enough I guess. a surface map would be similar to what I'll be doing for YCM, so in a sence I could. Akumakagemaru
Words to live by...literally. I say the best way to predict an enemy's movements is to manipulate the situation, and the enemy, so that they fall into your plan.
deathghost101
.......hm, interesting...........I guess there's no use in continuing an arguement.......like this.........so the last thing I'll say is...........Discipline.....one must have discipline. Akumakagemaru
@ Creator: Thanks, I was talking about using a grid typed out on the computer like I've done before. Are you talking about creating an actual picture?
Sploda
The best way to predict your enemies movements is to be your enemy, in a sense. By placing your agents in command of the enemy force, when the time comes the enemy will become your ally thus you have won without going to battle. @AkumaYes as in I will be drawing this map myself. Akumakagemaru
@ deathghost: Yes, discipline is vital to anything in life.Good point. I was thinking of knowing what your enemy is wiling to risk, and their habits, so you can force a situation where you know what they'll do. Sploda
Discipline provide order, order provides security, security brings uneasiness, uneasiness brings insecurity, insecurity breeds Discipline. Thus is the cycle.
Akumakagemaru
Awesome. I'm making a massive strategy game on another forum, turn-based of course, and I was wondering if you could do a map of the earth like that? I'm also inviting you to join lol. Sploda
Well I guess I could, I'll just need a link to the fourm (Pmed of course) and if you need a map of the earth it is a simple matter of taking a pre-existing one and using Photoshop to edit it. Of course if your going for an original map I can be of some assistance.
Akumakagemaru
Of course. I'll send the link right away, though we're still building the framework of the gameplay. This will be, without a doubt, the single most massive MMO strategy game ever created on a forum.
deathghost101
....sounds sweet, hope you all have fun.=)
Akumakagemaru
lol thanks, I'm hoping as well. I can't even tell you how much detail is going into this...we're currently working on Functions units can perfrom, and how Salvage will work with equupment (what you might be able to get from the wreckage, for example) and how currency will flow. Sploda
Well first you must make sure you know how Logistics will run, how you will transport troops, then of course you have to develop the population's role. Your game will take time.
deathghost101
sounds hard, wish I could help........but I'm to lazy for most things to start with, trying this, might get me tired.
Akumakagemaru
@ Creator: Exactly. We've been working onit for over six months, and I expect more than that to come. @ deathghost: lol that's fine, I know this is a real mind-bender I'm making. Sploda
Well at least you'll play my MUCH simpler game right? If you've ever played risk then you can play my game. Edit: Well I'm off for now, I guess I'll see you guys later.
Pikachu
The English translation of The Art of War might be good, but it's not complete. The Chinese version of it has the true moral of strategy. But I find both versions fine. As for strategy, any of you play any strategy games? deathghost101
Oh no, just tell me how things work, or what to do, and I'll comprehend just about anything, I'm just to lazy.........I'm not that dumb.........
