We could do what they did in HG/SS' date=' and have 2 Leagues, 16 badges. That way there COULD be 2 leaders with the same type.

[/quote']

HG/SS didn't repeat types though...

Ice is the Water Leader.

Me and Dark both want to be Dark Leaders...

I don't know about anyone else.

Can I be the Electric Leader?

Nice way to betray your Dragons. 3

I knew someone was going to say that.

There's not that many Dragons in the game' date=' though. D:

[/quote']

Non-uber dragons that are actually viable?

Salamence

Dragonite

Flygon

Kingdra

Latias (without Soul Dew)

That's really all I can think of atm, but there is probably one more.

Almost all of them would get raped by Ice-types though. (Except Kingdra, who really isn't that great.) =/

You won't believe how good Rain Dance/Dragon Dance/Outrage/Waterfall works, competitively.

And in-game, Outrage, Dragon Pulse, Waterfall and some other move. That way you have double Dragon coverage, Physical water move and something extra.

And Dragon/Water gets REALLY good type coverage. :/

---

After you download Shoddy, double click the icon and wait for Java to load.

Close the tip of the day.

Hit "Smogon University" and then "Connect".

Hit the "Register" tab. Make a username and password. If the username is already taken, it will notify you.

Hit the "Log In" tab. Enter your newly created username and password.

-OPTIONAL- On the top, go to "Status" and uncheck "View Battle Notices".

-NOTICE- There is no 'friend' system in Shoddy, so you'll have to remember the usernames of all of your friends.

Hit "File", and then "New Team". The rest is self-explanatory. Make sure to read our articles before delving into your first team. :)

-NOTICE- Shoddy 2 is coming out fairly soon. It will have less lag, possibly battle animation, and access to Double Battles.

After you have created your team, you have two options.

1.) Normal Battle

2.) Ladder

Normal Battles are battles with any person, with your own custom set of rules. To do this, find a person you would like to battle on the user list.

Then, hit the "Challenge" button.

If you scroll over the options, you can see what they mean. Discuss with your partner beforehand what ruleset you'd like to use. Check the options you want to battle with.

-NOTE- If you are doing a random battle, you do not need to load a team.

After you have checked your options, go to load team. Find the team you made earlier (you should've saved it somewhere) and double click it.

Now, hit "Challenge". The person can either accept or reject your challenge. If they challenge you, you are prompted to load your team and accept, or reject.

Cancel is used to cancel your challenge.

A new window should open and your battle will start.

Ladder battles are battles in a certain metagame, with specific rules. It adds/detracts from your total number of points, counts towards your Shoddy rating, and pits you against users using similar teams.

First, go to the "Find" tab. Unrated are the people who want to battle, but not ladder. You can use this list to find Normal Battles. However, for Laddering, go to the "Ladder" tab. Hit the dropdown and you will see four options...

Standard: Any Pokemon OU or under are accepted.

Ubers: All Pokemon are accepted.

Underused: Any Pokemon UU or under are accepted.

Suspect: This ladder is for suspect testing. For example, if the Smogon community was deciding whether Manaphy should be Uber or OU, this ladder would be to test MANAPHY teams in a Standard metagame, and see if it's broken or not.

For each ladder, you have the option of viewing the ban list. Until further notice, Arceus is banned from Ubers.

Hit load team, and double click the team you made. If it does not meet the ban list (eg, using Kyogre in Standard), you will be notified. Hit Find Match, and you will go against someone in the same ladder.

I've always shied away from Kingdra.

Now I see, though... a Kingdra sweep. ^^

Fine. I'll be the Dragon-type gym leader.

OT: I just 6-0ed a team with my lolbreloom. I don't care if Spore/Sub/Punch is nooby. It works.

What's your fourth attack, Seed Bomb?

And it's pretty easily countered, tbqh. Just activate Sleep Clause so you can't use Spore again, and switch to a ghost type. The only problem is bulky ghost types are hard to come by, but I'm sure Gengar can live a Seed Bomb. :/

Yeah. It is.

First, I set up with an Umbreon Mean Look so they can't switch, then I switch to Breloom.

and I agree, it is easily countered. Some people just don't know how to properly do it.

Erm... Clair' date=' the Ultra Ball makes the catch rate x2, dusk balls at full make it x4. Plus, paralysis makes the catch rate x1.5 while sleep (which I made them) makes it x2. I SHOULD be set... Plus, I false swiped them both, so I should be golden.........

[/quote']

You're set. ^^

I only use that combo because I have time and virtual PokeDollars to waste.

Umbreon is a horrible Pokemon, imo.

But in that sense, a bit of predicted on their part and they can get a free attack in when you are Baton Passing to Breloom.

If you want to use Mean Look + Baton Pass, have Breloom be Spore, Swords Dance, Sub and Focus Punch. And use it as a late game finisher, after any Ghosts have been eliminated. Because trust me, a +6 STAB Focus Punch from a 'Loom will OHKO anything that isn't a ghost.

Hmmm.

I never thought of adding Swords. Wait, I Spore, Sub, Dance, then Focus Punch?

This may seem noobish, but isn't that a long time for a set-up?

@Kira: I know that. That's why my Umbreon knows Pass. ;D

Sorry if I wasn't clear. ^^'

I'm talking about major late game, after all the ghosts are gone, and you have SR set up.

You Mean Look with Umbreon on something that is relatively pathetic against your 'Loom. Baton Pass to 'Loom.

Spore it, Sub, Dance. If it wakes up and breaks your Sub, you can use Spore and Sub again. Dance thrice so you have +6. (Remember, make sure you have Toxic Orb and Poison Heal.)

You'll essentially have a +6 Breloom with a STAB Fighting attack behind a sub. And after you kill the first Pokemon, sleep clause is no longer in effect. So if something faster breaks your Sub, you can use Spore that turn and re-sub, and then Focus Punch.

The setup is long, but easily accomplished if you Mean Look on a shitty Pokemon. Like... oh, I don't know. Blissey. Blissey can attempt to Wish/Protect, which won't do much. Ice Beam and Flamethrower do damage, but she'll be sleeping. And Toxic is lulz when you are already poisoned. It's a pretty cool sweep, but considered as noobish. But hell, as long as you are winning battles, noobish is good.

Late game, you say? I could see that. ^^

All I have to do is Mean Look a Wall or Support Pokemon, rite?

I <3 Toxic Orb/Poison Heal.

Got 2 Old Amber's in a row...

Looking for a damn Helix fossil but all I'm getting are shards and Geodudes. D:

Should I use Lunatone/a second Rhy?

Both my Rhyhorns each have different abilities...one has Rock Head and the other has Lightningrod.
