shelds9
So, i was wandering around serebii and noticed that no one learns Freeze Bolt, Cold Flare, or V-Generate? So what is with them???
Dark
I'm fairly sure Freeze Bolt and Cold Flare are both learned by Ryuremu, and V-Generate by Victini, but I'm assuming the movepools have not been calculated for those three moves. They are still in-game moves; it is not like someone randomly made them up. The movepools are still in the process of being "confirmed", I gather. Zextra
Well, the only available screenshots of those moves do show Kyurem using them, suggesting that they'll become Kyurem's signature moves in the third game (I hope it gets a new form :D). I think it's quite obvious that it symbolizes the balance between Reshiram and Zekrom (a.k.a yin and yang). Anyways, I look forward to seeing them in action. Also, what do you think about Hihidaruma's Daruma form?I know it's a good combo with Belly Drum, since it triggers the transformation, but I'm curious as to how people would train it :DI mean, which form should be focused on attacking with, and what kind of moveset would create a good balance? Dark
Daruma mode is, what, 25% of HP? Or 50%? But yeah, since Daruma mode gives ++attack, you'd need to be physically based and required to use Belly Drum. I haven't looked at his moveset much, so I can't say at the moment. Zextra
Yes, Daruma mode is triggered at 50% HP. However, the problem is Daruma mode is Special Attack Based, with 140 Base Sp.Atk, while "regular mode" is Attack based, with 140 base ATK. Therefore, what would be a good strategy involving the type of ATK change?
Dark
Wait, what? Daruma mode makes it so you gain Special Attack and lose Physical Attack? That's really shitty. Either your strategy revolves around Daruma mode or you can't use Hirudaruma (is that its name?). What is then going to happen is that you'd have +6 Attack from Belly Drum, but you'd lose your Base 140 Attack from going into Daruma mode. Someone with Black/White try this out: give Hiruwhatever Leftovers and use Belly Drum. His HP should go from 100% to 50% and then to, what, 56.25%? So it SHOULD be over 50%, and thus not be in Daruma mode, and thus have +6 Attack and Base 140 Physical attack.
DeathSDelano
Which is way you use belly drum for one that does not have Daruma mode. But i really don't get why they made something with a monstrous attack and good speed a dream world ability that turns into a Defensive Sp. Attacker But serious either you have Him set up as A Mix Sweeper to hit hard with his Physical Attacks than change to Sp Attacks when at half health
Dark
There is not much viability in a mixed sweeper set. I don't know how defensive this monkey-rapist is, but you'd need to make sure you are in Daruma Mode when a physical wall comes in, and make sure you are in Normal Mode when a special wall comes in. And changing modes isn't all that easy; in fact, it will oftentimes kill you if you take too much damage. Maybe have your Pokemon be ONLY a Physical attacker, and have someone pass it a Wish if it does fall under the 50% mark.
DeathSDelano
Daruma mode is gonna take some playing around to master it from the looks of it. Though i think most people are gonna stick with the normal ability encourage
Tentacruel
Can anyone give me a link to some calculator that shows which Pokemon resist a particular moveset? I know that one exists but Google has failed me.

Dark
I'm glad other people also use that, since I thought I was the only one who cared about resistances to my Pokemon's moveset.
Rockin' Rollin' Duelist
Try playing through the game when your team is always ten levels below each Gym Leaders and being able to still kick their arses. It's fun.

Rockin' Rollin' Duelist
Not really strategy per cei, more of the fact that I'm just that good, lol. Actually it's just easy. I don't even know why. It seems that Nintendo didn't make the Gym Leaders any harder than before.
RedRuler
I cannot wait for the Pokemon Black and White release, i mean in english of course. I'm also planning now the team i want.

It seems that Nintendo didn't make the Gym Leaders any harder than before. Or because you aren't as stupid as you were before. <___< Seriously, the Gym Leaders, I feel, have not gotten easier in terms of difficulty. When I picked up my first Pokemon game, Crystal, I was around five years old. And Hoenn for me was when I was nine or ten, just making up the numbers (simple math is out of my reach at the moment). And now I'm, what, sixteen? Obviously those six years increased my knowledge, so while the Gym Leaders stayed the same, my knowledge of the game mechanics increased and I have become more knowledgable, and as a result, think the game as easier. DeathSDelano
Also there is no road block pokemon like milktank early game(back in G/S/C days) and no Overpowered E4 and Champion that required massive grinding to beat like the 1st gen
Jolta
I've seen vids on this... Animated Pokemon, Triple battles... And green Piranhas! I love those guys. I hope to get this as soon as I can. I'm already planning my team! Its an alternate America, so Japanese creatures do not live there. (That is, until you get the National Pokedex) That is one of the things I love about this game.
Rockin' Rollin' Duelist
You can find an English patched version of the game's rom online. It translates a lot of the game to english, including everything having to do with battles, items and menus.
