Vitamins cap at 100 EVs, though. Once you hit 100 EVs on a stat with Vitamins, you have to EV train after then.

 

I never nickname my Pokemon, but the reason I am nicknaming Hydreigon and Samurott is because I like their Japanese names a ton better.

You would go insane if you actually collected all the feathers for getting 255 EV. Also, the most one should ever use is 252.

But of course. 255 is not divisible by 4. But really, is losing 1 point in any stat that isn't speed that important?

O, in that case go with the Japanese names. Still calling a pokemon by their name is like calling a dog dog. It just isn't right. Plus I love thinking up creative names.

There aren't many decent creative names I've seen before. Like, if something is too creative, then I feel like it just doesn't make sense.

 

The only time I've ever seriously nickname something was Rotom, and it wasn't that creative. Its name was Plasma. I just do not like nicknaming things, but I can totally understand why people do anyways.

 

Sometimes I nickname Pokemon after stupid things if I'm just catching them for Dex data. When I was going for a complete National Dex in Diamond (which I accomplished eight months ago), I named my Miltank "BREASTMILK", Tauros "AFRICAN", shit like that. I released all of them anyways, so it didn't really matter, but it made me laugh knowing that I had a Pokemon named BREASTMILK. =P

So....100 divided by 4 = +25 to a stat if I am not mistaken? Because if not, that's a pretty good deal if you ask me.

 

I too don't really name my pokemon. I'm thinking of changing Cofagrigus and Haxorus's names to CoFAGrigus and HAXorus just for the lulz.

Well, kind of. At level 100, 4 EVs turn into an extra point. So yeah, using 10 Vitamins will get you 25 extra stat points at Level 100, which is pretty good, and EVing isn't that hard anyways.

 

If you are just getting into competitive battling and EVs/IVs, I suggest you read this article. It's from the best competitive Pokemon community in the world, and it's just a great article overall.

 

It's a Diamond/Pearl article, though, so you can't really use it for Black and White.

Can't argue with that nickname. My nicknames tend to follow themes like anime character names, this time its Chinese colours. (Random I know) and Reshiram boring called Inferno rather than Bai (White) actually several of the colours are Darker Than Black character names like Yin (Silver), Bai (White) and Hei (Black)

I tend to name my Pokémon after special persons, both from Anime, mythology and real life. My Samurott is named after Sunzi (commonly spelled Sun Tzu), Zweilous/Hydreigon is named Zmeyevich (a Slavic Dragon God), Sigilyph is named Jibakushin (he looks like the Nazca Lines >_>) and so on.

Tom Dubius is named after Cygnus Wing from Starforce 1-3

Dio Brando has that name because he knows the move Steamroller, hence, Dio Brando's 'ZA WARUDO' move.

Clockwork is simply clockwork because hes a mass of connected gears.

Ganon has his name because Ganandorf's "true" form is literally a giant pig-monster(Plus, it was my friend's idea)

Chandelure is the only one without a nickname ;-;

I too plan on going to the Elite Four soon. Going to Level up my 5 Pokemon to 55 or so and my Samurott most likely 60 before doing so. Will find the time to post up the team and whatnot. Also, Will-o-Wisp or Toxic (For my Cofarigus). I'm leaning towards Toxic, but I feel like I need a second opinion.

I just recently caught a Pawniard though, and quite tempted to use it....

But I won't, I'mma be loyal to my pokemanz and stick with the first six I got :P

And still need to know if I should go for Toxic or Will-o-Wisp for Cofagrigus.
