He bought a d-wheel at the black market and it was very cheap. Then he drove a test ride on roadway but then a strong wind blow him from the road to the ground. Before he fell a black fog appeared and then he become a dark signer.

Their father died of a car accident that was believed to be an intentional death by their father. Austin want's to take their father's deck back from Ian as it was entrusted to him when their father died.

Backround:He was killed after taking part in an experiment. Scientist obsessed with the power of the Crimson Dragon were going to force him to be a Signer to boost the power of the Crimson Dragon, but Wes died as the experiment was a failure. The Earthbound Immortal Uru choose Wes as his hatred for the Crimson Dragon was stronger than his own and as a means to escape the underworld. Wes is out for revenge against the Signers because he thinks that if the dragon never existed the experiment would have never happened either. Uru has Wes thinking that the current Signers are at fault with his death.

Thinking it was Ian's fault (through it was actually an antagonist) he vowed revenge upon Ian. However, after he realzies the death of his parents were actually due to the antagonists, he joined Ian.
