Bandai America Inc. Announces Plan to Release Battle Spirits Trading Card Game at Gen Con Indianapolis

Preview Battle Spirits at Summer Convention Demo Deck Tournaments

Cypress' date=' CA – March 9, 2009 – After years of development and a successful launch in Japan, Bandai America Inc. will release the Battle Spirits Trading Card Game at Gen Con Indianapolis on August 13, 2009.

Battle Spirits has quickly become one of the best selling trading card games in Japan since its release. Battle Spirits is a fantasy game where players attempt to master the use of their “core” to summon spirits from the lands of undead, ice, war and peace. The unique core mechanic introduces a new way to play trading card games that creates immediate conflicts right from the start of the game.

Bandai America's first sneak peek of the Battle Spirits TCG will be at the GAMA Tradeshow on April 14-17, 2009. Retail attendees will have learn to play and have a chance to win cash and other prizes. Afterwards, Bandai America will be previewing Battle Spirits at various summer conventions: FanimeCon, A-Kon, Origins Game Fair, Anime Expo, Comic-Con International and GenCon Indianapolis. Players will have a chance to play the game and have a chance to win a trip to Orange County, CA in November for the U.S. Championships. The U.S. Champion will win a trip to Tokyo, Japan to play for the World Championship in December 2009.

Battle Spirits will be sold exclusively to the hobby market for 2009. Hobby stores that participate in Bandai's Organized Play Program will receive free launch and tournament kits with prizes for weekly tournaments. Launch kits will contain free product for retailers to run an 8 person sealed event. Bandai has the best free Organized Play Program in the industry and wants to support the hobby market to show our appreciation. Retailers and volunteers may sign up for Bandai's Organized Play at http://opprogram.com/bandai/information.php

Battle Spirits was designed by Michael Elliot who has over 14 years of experience as a lead designer of various trading card games, non-collectible card games, electronic games and board games.

QUESTION: IS THERE AN ONLINE SIMULATOR THAT DOES NOT INVOLVE WASTING MONEY. I LURV CARD GAMES.

There's a program that lets you play online with any card game, and if its not there you can upload the card images for the whole game and you can play with them.

Don't remember the name of the program right now though...

then what about the magic logo in your sig?

anyway, effect damage in this game is going to be high cost if you only start with 5 life.

also, they seem to have the ruling in this game that if you don't have something to do when a card says "both players do X", you don't have to do it and the card can be played.

hand destruction esque cards are more powerful in that game it seems.
